<p>Για την λειτουργία της εφαρμογής χρειάζεται σύνδεση στο internet είτε 3G είτε WIFI. Για να ακούς toradiofono.gr στο δρόμο χρειάζεται να έχεις πακέτο δεδομένων στον κινητό σου και να πιάνει 3G. Όταν δεν έχει καλό σήμα το κινητό και συνδέεται σε δίκτυο σαν 2G (EDGE) δεν θα λειτουργήσει η εφαρμογή καθώς δεν επαρκεί η ταχύτητα του δικτύου για να φορτώσει το stream.</p>
<p>Προσοχή στην ακρόαση μέσω δικτύου 3G καθώς υπάρχει χρέωση ανάλογα με το πακέτο δεδομένων που έχετε από τον τηλεφωνικό σας πάροχο, για 15&#8242; ακρόασης καταναλώνονται περίπου 10ΜΒ δεδομένων.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Από την ίδρυση του ΙΕΚΕΜ ΤΕΕ έως σήμερα, οι δραστηριότητές του επικεντρώθηκαν κυρίως στη διεξαγωγή αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενων και επιδοτούμενων σεμιναρίων καθώς και στη συμμετοχή του σε έρευνες χρηματοδοτούμενες από κοινοτικούς πόρους.</p>
<p>Το ΙΕΚΕΜ ΤΕΕ έχει εξειδίκευση στα ακόλουθα θεματικά πεδία:</p>
<p>Περιβάλλον, Υγεία και Πρόνοια, Πολιτισμός και Αθλητισμός, Παιδαγωγικά, Οικονομία-Διοίκηση, Πληροφορική, Τουριστικός Τομέας και Τομείς Παροχής Υπηρεσιών, Αγροτικός Τομέας, Μεταφορές, Κλαδικά – Εξειδικευμένα Σεμινάρια Άσκησης Επαγγέλματος.</p>
<p>Μέσω της εφαρμογής του ΙΕΚΕΜ ΤΕΕ μπορείτε να ενημερώνεστε με τις τελευταίες ειδήσεις του χώρου, να μαθαίνετε για τις δραστηριότητες του ΙΕΚΕΜ ΤΕΕ αλλά και να παρακολουθείτε σε πραγματικό χρόνο σεμινάρια και εκδηλώσεις που διοργανώνει το ΙΕΚΕΜ ΤΕΕ.</p>
<p>Η εφαρμογή είναι διαθέσιμη μέσω του App Store για iPhone συσκευές ενώ σύντομα θα κυκλοφορήσει και για συσκευές με λειτουργικό σύστημα Android.</p>

Interactions are inserted using a simple form where you have to define the interaction type and the page where you want each one to appear.  The supported interactive elements include:</p>

<li>YouTube and Vimeo videos,</li>
<li>URL to any web based content,</li>
<li>Flickr or Picassa image galleries,</li>
<li>Google Docs,</li>
<li>Social Media content eg links to Facebook pages, twitter hashtag streams etc</li>
</ul>
<h2>Adding an interactive element</h2>
<p>The interface that allows you to integrate interactions is a simple form where you have to fill in:</p>
<ul>
<li>the interaction’s name eg youtube_video_page_4. (Note: It is important to name/identify your interactions since after you publish your issue you will be able to see detailed statistics for each interaction),</li>
<li>the issue where you want the interactive element to appear (comes pre filled)</li>
<li>the page of the issue where you want the interaction to appear,</li>
<li>the interaction type (drop down select from the available interaction types) and</li>
<li>the parameters of the interaction, usually this is a URL.</li>

<h2>Viewing an interaction in the iOS app</h2>
<p>When an issue’s page has an interactive element there will be an icon on the top right corner indicating the interaction type. By clicking this icon users can view the interaction. In the example shown below, clicking the icon on the top right corner of the screen will result in playing the YouTube video we have specified in the previous step through LazyPub’s backend system.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Mobile Revolution continues to change how industry after industry goes about day-to-day business. Yet one industry has been surprisingly slow to embrace the benefits of mobile: healthcare. Many observers find that strange, since healthcare could clearly benefit from the power of smartphones and tablets attached to the cloud.</p>
<p>Several things have slowed adoption of mobile in healthcare. Antiquated policies designed for a different era have been a major factor. For instance, what does it mean to be HIPAA compliant in a mobile world? HIPAA regulations rule how healthcare practitioners can store and transfer data on patients to protect both the privacy of the patient and the liability to doctors and nurses. HIPAA regulations are fairly complex and rigid (for a good reason, to be sure) and have scared off some mobile healthcare (mHealth) startups - at least until HIPAA can be updated to reflect the change in the technological landscape.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s also the question of culture. For decades, the primary patient interface for doctors, technicians and nurses has been the paper chart attached to a clipboard. Digitizing of patient records is a long, arduous process that many clinics have declined to undertake. Doctors face significant blowback from administrators sitting in front of bookshelves crammed full manila folders of patient histories.</p>
<p>(On a trip to my physician’s office a couple years back, I asked him if he used a smartphone to make his life easier. He showed me his BlackBerry and an app that helps him find the appropriate prescription for certain maladies. I asked him if he could digitize his entire file system and carry around an iPad or some such device to make his life easier. “I would love to,” he told me. “But I would lose half my staff if I ever changed how the system works.” )</p>
<p>We are starting to see progress in mHealth adoption: According to researchers, 62% of doctors use a tablet in some shape or form and 71% of nurses use a smartphone at work. The mHealth industry is forecast to be a $11.8 billion market by 2018.</p>
<p>Mobile healthcare is about more than just how doctors and nurses operate on a day-to-day basis. Mobile technology promises to contribute to wellness, preventative care, personal health records, communication with physicians, diet tracking, prescription reminders and many other health-related improvements. For instance, 30% of smartphone users are expected to use wellness apps in one form or another by 2015. By that year, analysts predict there will be nearly two billion smartphone users on the planet. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Though Internet access &#8220;on the go&#8221; provides advantages to many, such as the ability to communicate by email with others and obtain information anywhere, the web, accessed from mobile devices, has many limits, which may vary, depending on the device. However, newer smartphones overcome some of these restrictions. Some problems which may be encountered include:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Small screen size</strong> – This makes it difficult or impossible to see text and graphics dependent on the standard size of a desktop computer screen.</li>
<li><strong>Lack of windows</strong> – On a desktop computer, the ability to open more than one window at a time allows for multi-tasking and for easy revert to a previous page. Historically on mobile web, only one page can be displayed at a time, and pages can only be viewed in the sequence they were originally accessed. However, apps exist for example Oceanus, and browsers such as Opera Mini<span style="font-size: 11px;"> </span>for Java ME, allowing multiple windows, but sometimes a limited number, and not multiple windows in the same screen.</li>
<li><strong>Navigation</strong> – Most mobile devices do not use a mouselike pointer, but rather simply an up and down function for scrolling, thereby limiting the flexibility in navigation.</li>
<li><strong>Lack of JavaScript and cookies</strong> – Most devices do not support client-side scripting and storage of cookies (smartphones excluded), which are now widely used in most Web sites to enhance user experience, facilitating the validation of data entered by the page visitor, etc. This also results in web analytics tools being unable to uniquely identify visitors using mobile devices.</li>
<li><strong>Types of pages accessible</strong> – Many sites that can be accessed on a desktop cannot on a mobile device. Many devices cannot access pages with a secured connection, Flash or other similar software, PDFs, or video sites, although as of 2011, this has been changing.</li>
<li><strong>Speed</strong> – On most mobile devices, the speed of service is very slow, often slower than dial-up Internet access.</li>
<li><strong>Broken pages</strong> – On many devices, a single page as viewed on a desktop is broken into segments, which are each treated as a separate page. Paired with the slow speed, navigation between these pages is slow.</li>
<li><strong>Compressed pages</strong> – Many pages, in their conversion to mobile format, are squeezed into an order different from how they would customarily be viewed on a desktop computer.</li>
<li><strong>Size of messages</strong> – Many devices have limits on the number of characters that can be sent in an email message.</li>
<li><strong>Cost</strong> – the access and bandwidth charges levied by cellphone networks can be high if there is no flat fee per month.</li>
<li><strong>Location of mobile user</strong>:
<ul>
<li>if advertisements reach phone users in private locations, users find them more distressful (Banerjee &amp; Dholakia, 2008)</li>
<li>if the user is abroad the flat fee per month usually does not apply</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Situation in which ad reaches user</strong> – When advertisements reach users in work-related situations, they may be considered more intrusive than in leisure situations.</li>

The report found that of the 289 million U.S. TV owners, 119 million own four or more television sets, making TV still the device to beat when it comes to watching and recording programs, among other things.</p>

<p>The TV-owning audience can also be further split up by how they access their programing and what sort of things they use their TV for, besides live viewing.</p>
<p>For example,</p>
<ul>
<li>33% have satellite subscriptions, and 52% have cable; broadcast/over-the-air only is down from 16% in 2003 to 9%</li>
<li>47% have a DVR</li>
<li>75% have an HD-capable TV</li>
<li>56% play video console games</li>
<li>4% have Internet-enabled TVs</li>
</ul>
<p>However, when it comes to how Americans are consuming media, it’s TV that’s still far in the lead. Traditional TV viewing eats up over six days (days! or 144 hours, 54 minutes) worth of time per month, the report found. Everything else – from computers to smartphones – is a much narrower slice of that overall pie:</p>
<ul>
<li>Internet on a computer: 28 hours, 29 mins.</li>
<li>Online video: 5 hours, 51 minutes</li>
<li>Video on mobile: 5 hours, 20 minutes</li>
<li>Game console: 6 hours, 26 minutes</li>
<li>DVD/Blu-ray: 5 hours, 13 minutes</li>
<li>Time-shifted TV: 11 hours, 33 minutes</li>
</ul>

<p>Somewhat hilariously, 55% of U.S. users also still own a VCR, too, but this is (thankfully) down from 93% in 2003.</p>
<p>Computers also had a massive footprint in the U.S. with 212 million of the 278 million internet users active online in 2012. 94% of social media users accessed social media with a computer in 2012, says Nielsen. In terms of time spent on the computer, 20.1% was used for social networking and blogs – the most of any other category. Time spent for other categories is as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>8.1% online games</li>
<li>7.1% email</li>
<li>5.2% video and movies</li>
<li>3.7% portals</li>
<li>3.2% search</li>
<li>3.0% software sites</li>
<li>2.7% news</li>
<li>2.4% auctions</li>
<li>2.2% sports</li>
</ul>
<p>Looking at those numbers for search and social, it’s hard to not see why Google had to develop a social platform with Google+, to take on Facebook. Even back in 2009, Facebook was eating up users’ time, accounting for over six hours of web usage per month to Google’s two hours, 24 minutes.</p>
