House in a Maze

We were very intrigued by pictures of this tiny house in the middle of a maze. Turns out the labyrinth was created from corn in Cordes-sur-Ciel, France, by Isabelle de Beaufort and Bernard Ramus, aka Labyrinthus, in 1999.

De Beautfort and Ramus have been creating giant mazes since 1996 – including Le Labyrinthe de Grimm in Alsace, Le Monde des Plantes Magiciennes in Merville, and Le Labyrinthe de Plage à Puteaux.

Some have been large, some tiny, some permanent, some temporary. They’ve attracted some three million visitors, and given a new lease of life to an ancient tradition. RM
