I have to make sure to get some new socks for Sunshine and I. It seems like every time I go to the laundromat, I come home with less socks than I started. The boyfriend doesn’t have this problem, he always has the same amount of socks. I wonder where those little socks go, does the washer eat them? Or do they get stuck and there is huge vat that collects all the socks from the washers and dryers and someone comes by once a year, collects the socks then adds them to their biggest sock ball collection. Hey I don’t know it can happen.

Or maybe the sock makers have deals with the laundromats because the more socks people lose, eventually they will have to buy more socks. Ha that is a good one.

Today I want to relax because I don’t have to go in until later on so maybe it won’t be so bad tonight working maybe I can actually think about something to do with writing.

piss warm stale coffee from the convenience store,
soft whispers from the tires to the road
and the highway offers a lonely fulfilling solitude
a chance to recollect on why this night
feels like another night from long ago
when the moon still terrified me.

more whispers as the sky
falls into black leather, save for the moon
that still stares.
Thoughts spill into coffee,
a wonderment through words,
know my true myself though I am
still the maple leaf swept up with
the November winds.

I can’t remember where the deja vu feeling is come from,
the coffee is all gone and
soon I better find a place to water the plants
because this feeling
will come again the older I get
and the only thing I can hope
for is when everything is gone
I can finally remember something about the
feeling of this night.

Next week at Beaver Stadium, the Lions take on the Buckeyes. In my opinion, Ohio is not doing so hot as they normally do. They are 7-2 for the season and 4-1 for the Big Ten. Ohio lost against Southern California, and that is no surprise there but they also lost against Purdue, by a small margin. My prediction is the Lions will victor over the Buckeyes but it won’t be easy. My prediction is 17-14, Penn State.

I read an excerpt and from what I read, she is good the writing is clean and interesting. I would like to read more of this book. I entered the contest to win a free copy of Born Of Fire so maybe I will have a chance to read it.

Beyond the yellow brick road,
a tornadic triad sweeps across the prairie
preying, devouring
sunny dispositions yet leaves
the white picket fence while
steel and glass cities shimmer in
winter’s eerie daylight.

flora cloaked in frost
as the roots slowly die and
cannibalize the blossoms
life is never better beyond the yellow brick road.

choices made,
fates sealed,
lost in my own petty wishes,
I forgot to wake up this morning and live.

scars fade,
nightmares intense and
I find myself looking out the window,
searching for the yellow brick road
to leave Kansas for good.

I am kind of pissed, I requested 6 days off in a row so I don’t lose hours but have a small vacation and I wasn’t approved for at least half of it which sucks the big kitten. I wanted to use that time to write and work on Dragonfly Poems. Well what are you going to do. Nothing. There is nothing to do about it. It just pisses me off because I am only part time so I don’t get vacation and I am always there, I just wanted some time away from that place and do things I like doing.

I still have to work on that poem, maybe I should write it at work then when I get home transfer it to the painting then scan in the painting. I like the painting, it was done in watercolors and ink. It is surreal. Of course, I am sure you already expected that to begin with.

Well it is 10:30 and I need to get ready for work.

Go get the jam and into our mouths we cram.
