For the long weekend, we headed out to Yosemite with some friends and it was absolutely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It was majestic! And despite the snow, rain and cold we had so much fun. Sleeping in a tent with two children is quite the adventure! By the third and last night we had how to sleep figured out. Hopefully next time we catch on a bit better! Our children were filthy the entire time, especially Greta due to the extreme slant of our campsite. I did laundry all day yesterday and I've almost conquered it! I'll do a few posts of photos from our trip. I finished up my first roll of film from my Grandfather's old Canon on this trip (eek!) and now I need to send it off.

	Greta loved wearing these boots!

I took so many photos when Conor's parents were here, I still have a couple more posts to share! We've "recovered" from visitors, which means Holly's gotten over her withdrawals. We had some tough behavior the week after Nana and Papa left. She obviously enjoyed all the extra attention and love quite a bit!

One day, we went to the Santa Cruz boardwalk, which was just fun. It's a great beach and the ride scene is fun. The boardwalk has an original funhouse Laughing Sal. Everytime we walked past her (on our many bathroom breaks), Holly would stand there waving. "Hi," she'd say. She loved Laughing Sal!

Golden Gate park is one of my favorite places in San Francisco. There's an amazing children's playground, and so many other things that we haven't even done yet! We went there one day with Conor's parents. I love watching Conor and Holly play together. He gets her to do so many things out of her comfort zone and they have so much fun together!

Happy Hollows is such a fun place for us. Both the girls love it and we always feel happy there! We're so glad Catherine could come with us. Holly had a big melt-down on the way there (she hadn't had a nap the day before), but we managed to make it in and enjoy ourselves. If you ask Holly is the roller coaster was fun, she'll tell you no, it was scary.
This past week, Conor's parents, Catherine and Jim, were in town visiting (so this week I'll be posting a ton of photos!). We had so much fun and had quite the full week. Our list of things we did was long, and the list of things we didn't do was even longer! The first day they were here, we ate a celebratory breakfast and then went to the beach. Welcome to California! I love where we live!

	PS: I made my shirt.

Motherhood. Momma. Mommy. Me. A sacrifice, sometimes I feel like I'm losing myself, but it's the best thing I've ever done. There's nothing quite like looking into those big blue or brown eyes and seeing nothing but love. I have two little girls who love me completely on good days and bad. Slowly, I'm becoming a better person. Because I am a Momma.

The responsibility is huge and sometimes it rests heavy on my shoulders. How do I help Holly to be reasonable (especially since we're emotional twins)? Does Greta get enough love and attention from me? Am I playing with my girls enough? What will the future bring? This photo is so motherhood to me. Trying to guide my child as she plunders on without looking back. I don't want her to fall.

I made Holly a couple of pairs of Oliver+S puppet show shorts. I think they're so cute! For the chambray pair, I cut up a tunic I never really wear and I felt so clever doing it. Holly is extremely picky about her clothing, so it took lots of tries to get her into these. I made them out because they looked comfortable and they have pockets. What more could a toddler want? We still have a bit of drama when we want her to wear these shorts but at least she doesn't strip them off at mid-day!

I love this cheery red fabric and I had originally intended it for Greta, but then decided to use it for myself! I wanted something casual. I like the look of shirts where the back is longer than the front, plus with all the bending and picking up of children I do, it adds to my modesty. I altered a simplicity 2246 pattern, which I most recently used for it's intended shirt dress. I changed the neckline and the sleeves. And overall, it turned out well. It definitely has it's flaws, but it's been a long time since I've done any sort of alterations and I don't think I've ever changed anything as much as I did this. So whether or not it's perfect is not a point of concern. I tried something new and succeeded well enough and that's success enough for me! I'm dying for a bodyform so that I can manipulate more patterns!
