This is 512 bytes of nonsense, since the Firefox 2 developers and IE7
developers and Safari RSS developers decided that they would make
obsolete declared XML styles by overriding them without permission.
Their own styles seem to be of varying quality, and importantly do not
integrate Feedburner's services, which hopefully are of real use to
subscribers and potential subscribers. Therefore, we use this unofficial
workaround, which consists of filling up the first 512 bytes of a
document so that the sniffer doesn't encounter the RSS tag in time to
autodetect it. Now, without further ado, we present you with a valid
XML feed, presented in the manner we have chosen to offer it.

Today, territorial ownership of states is essentially fixed, in marked contrast to earlier periods in history. This change has affected states in two very different ways. In regions in which most states are socio-politically strong, fixed territorial ownership is a blessing. It enhances peace, stability, and cooperation between states. In regions in which most states are socio-politically weak, however, fixed territorial ownership is largely a curse. It perpetuates and exacerbates states' weakness, and contributes to internal conflicts that often spill overacross international borders.

Much of the ensuing
skepticism is quite healthy.

The discipline of international relations has had different reactions to the increased salience of gender advocacy in international politics; some have reacted by asking feminist questions about IR, while others have encouraged the study of gender as a variable disengaged from feminist advocacy.
June 30, 2003

In 1989, Soviet control over Eastern Europe ended when the communist regimes of the Warsaw Pact collapsed. These momentous and largely bloodless events set the stage for the end of the Cold War and ushered in a new era in international politics. Why did communism collapse relatively peacefully in Eastern Europe? Why did these changes occur in 1989, after more than four decades of communist rule? Why did this upheaval happen almost simultaneously in most of the Warsaw Pact?
