This is a video I came across that every knowledgable NFL fan can relate too. I’ve heard this same question asked year after year for as long as I can remember. If you are watching the Super Bowl with a group of people there’s always a clueless person who will ask this question.

We’re about two hours away from Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and New England Patriots. I think this will be another down to the wire finish between these two teams.

This is an intriguing matchup and it wouldn’t be a shock if either team wins the game. The key for the Patriots will be how the offensive line protects quarterback Tom Brady against the relentless Giants pass rush, Brady must have time to throw the football.

The Patriots have a terrible defense and ranked #31 against the pass during the regular season. It almost cost them at the end of their AFC Championship win over the Baltimore Ravens, but Lee Evans couldn’t hang onto the ball and the Patriots survived.

The key matchups along the offensive and defensive lines favor the Giants and I don’t see how the Patriots will be able to defend the explosive Giants offense. Quarterback Eli Manning has a trio of solid wide receivers at his disposal and spreads the ball around to all of them.

I’m a big Tom Brady fan and would like to see him win another Super Bowl, but it won’t happen today.

The NFL will be announcing the 2012 Hall Of Fame class later today at 5:30 p.m. on NFL Network.  The voters have a list of 17 candidates and must trim at least ten of them off because the maximum class size is seven.

I think former head coach Bill Parcells should be one of the guys to make it. Parcells is the only coach in NFL history to guide four different teams to the NFL Playoffs.

Another guy I’d like to see in this years class is Charles Haley who is the only player to win five Super Bowl rings. Haley started his career as a linebacker and then converted to a full-time defensive end when he joined the Dallas Cowboys. This guy was a monster pass rusher and had 11 sacks in 12 playoff games.

The last guy I will talk about is Chris Doleman who also converted to a defensive end after starting his career as a linebacker. Doleman was one of the best pass rushers to ever play the game.

Then at 9 p.m. the NFL will have its first ever NFL Honors award ceremony which will be carried live on NBC. The show will be hosted by Alec Baldwin.

It was music to my ears when I heard the news about the NFL adding more Thursday night games to the regular season schedule! This is great for football fan’s like myself who just can’t get enough NFL action.

Starting next season in week two the NFL Network will televise a Thursday Night game each week through week 15. The new format adds five more prime time games for the league.

The Washington Wizards got screwed by the ref’s last night in their 109-103 loss to the Orlando Magic. Some those calls were so bad I started wondering if Tim Donaghy was back on the floor in disguise and the fix was in.

I try not to get on here and bash the ref’s because I know mistakes can happen. There will be a bad call or two in the heat of battle, no problem, but this was more than that and a quick glance at the box score is all that’s needed to prove my point.

This game was lost at the free throw line. The Magic went 30-39 and the Wizards went 7-9. How the Magic could get 30 more free throw attempts is beyond me? The Wizards were not just settling for long jumpers and took the ball strong to the basket throughout the game, but couldn’t get any calls.

John Wall did not attempt one free throw in the entire game. His shot was off last night, but I watched him going to the rack and getting hammered without a foul being called on the Magic more than once.

In the game against the Chicago Bulls a couple of days ago the Bulls had 31-13 advantage in free throw attempts in their 98-88 win over the Wizards. The Magic and Bulls took a combined 70 free throw attempts while the Wizards took 22, wow!
