Driving Your Life On Its Way To Its Purpose

People live to exist and with existence along comes purpose. It is that one inevitable thing that every one yearns for. It is usually the only thing that is left missing in a lot of people’s lives. That’s why a lot of people now days cease to live their lives, and the main reason is? –They don’t have a purpose to do so.

You may think that finding that sole purpose in life is very much impossible. Then if that’s the case, you better think twice. There are ways to find what you are looking for if you look at the right places. It’s not that easy to find that purpose, but it is possible and having a life purpose coach would be of great help.

Defining Roles

In this kind of coaching program, you are able to sort out your life and seek out your purpose. It won’t be your coach who will find it but of course it would be you, because you are the only one capable of doing that, but you would need your coach to guide you through the process to see a clearer perspective of things.

No Arrows To Lead You

Sometimes you may feel that you are lost. You do daily tasks and activities just out of routine. There’s a big intersection ahead of you and you don’t know which direction to take or pursue.

In situations like these, your coach would be your guiding path. He would let you see the different routes you can take, the pros and cons of each direction and your means of going through that path.

When Everything Gets Stuck

On moments that you feel you are stuck with your life. When all aspects have seem to be successful yet there is no feeling of contentment or fulfillment at all. When you think that there is no more steps to take, your coach will be the one to show you that little extra step you need in finding what you are looking for.

Being Who You Really Are

Purpose is not dictated by the things that you do. Each of us has our own, and this is in our system from the day we are born. Sadly, a lot of factors in our lives are culprits on why it got lost. Factors such as family, peer, social, academic and even media influences us and makes us be unable to find our point of living.

Here, you get to honestly appraise your life and see what factors are over shadowing that purpose in you. In the process you get to know yourself even more. You see in a new light your beliefs, joys, sadness and what matters the most. It can be a scary process but in the end you get that enlightenment like no other.

You will be able to see what matters most. You get to set your real goals and aspirations. In a gradual process led by your coach, you can achieve them in no time.

Your inner dreams and real wanting in life could be revealed and trying to achieve that would lead to that sense of contentment for you. A new lay out of your life will be formed and this would bring you back the joy in living. That excitement that was lost would be found once again and you can start existing the way you are supposed to!

Motivation as the Key to Good Life

With all the problems that come along the way, it is oftentimes hard for a person to maintain a certain level of motivation. This is because more often than not, he or she would only experience failure because he or she wasn’t able to meet the goals and expectations that are set.

However, despite the discouraging times, this is not enough reason to be motivated. In fact, for some people, this can be a good opportunity to start anew. These hard times can serve as a motivation itself for one to be able to overcome difficulties and triumph over life’s adversities. And when handled properly, people can get lifelong lessons from these trying times and use it to live a good and contented life.

HOW TO MOTIVATE ONE’S SELF

Experts say that it is only common for people to feel depression, anxiety and defeat if life has been giving them so many tests and trials. However, instead of feeling depresses and sulking into the taste of defeat, people can use this as an opportunity to make themselves stronger. How? By using these emotions and experiences to motivate his or herself.

Motivating one’s self is indeed one of the best ways to live a good life. This is because if one is motivated well, he or she can set goals that are within his or her reach. He or she can also find ways to deal with defeats without having to feel anxious or depressed over something that may be beyond his or her control. The following are just some of the ways on how people can motivate themselves in these trying times:

1. Never stop learning. Experts say that once people realize that life is never-ending journey to learning, they will be able to find ways to their successes. To keep one’s self-motivated, it is best never stop learning because this opens up to new worlds of possibilities that are waiting to be explored. If one continues learning through read or by trying different things, he or she can gain more confidence to do things and start with new projects. Also, when one continues learning, he or she will acquire newer skills that can add up to the things that he or she can do.

2. Always have a positive outlook in life. This might some easy for some but many people are in fact having a hard time developing and maintaining a positive outlook in life. Maybe because people just have different personalities and different upbringing that affect the way they see life in general. If one wants to be motivated at all times, he or she must start developing a positive outlook in life. This can be done by trying to see the good in bad at all time or whenever possible. If people are able to overcome obstacles, he or she would soon develop the habit of looking for ways that would help him or her overcome that problem.

3. Avoid too much thinking. If possible, stop thinking at all times over something. This is because thinking would only bring in a mix of emotions that could be harder to handle and manage later on. To keep constant self-motivation, one must try to veer away from negative thoughts and only think of the things where he or she could something good.

One must also try not to dwell on things that are beyond control because this will only cloud the positive outlook he or she is trying to build.

my 12 year old boy is addicted to ps3 and wii games what can I do?
Dear Cheeky Chums I know you only usually help with baby realted questions but My 12 year old son want come off his games straight after school until bedtime what can I do?

This what Cheeky Chums recommend to any parent in a similar position with any games that are causing addictions…

As a parent no matter what age your children are, you have the responcibility to parent your child. Its not the other way round which often happens especially with busy parents or working parents who just want to relax when coming home from work.
often it is too easy to give in and say yes go one give me a minute to myself then before you know it your child has found pleasure in a game and knows that you will moan just to get some time to your self
The earlier you learn to sometimes say no to a child the easier it becomes as they get older. What often happens by the time they reach 10 or even younger the child seems to be in control and not the parent. How does this answer your question well its a reminder first of all that you are the one which is or should be respoinsible. The adult sets ground rules as early as your child even reaches 1 and 2 year old so children don’t get the upper hand.

Now you have to be the good role model so cut down on the number of hours they play on the game and find alternatives you can do as a family to have good old fashioned fun. You will all reap the benefit.
Your child will be socializing with other children and adults making it easier to get out of the house. Although some hand held games can be taken along make sure the games stay behind when you go out as a family. Here are some suggestions you can do as a family and ideas for your son to become more active, staying healthy, introducing new hobbies and pastimes to keep the brain active with new ideas too fun, excitement and enjoyment.
superbowl -ten pin bowling.air soft an alternative the the hurtful paint balling.squash,motor-racing,canoeing,duke of edinburgh award.Swimming, dad taking son golf, quad bikes, photography, scateboarding, bikes etc.

Kids behavior problems can be aggravating and destroy the sense of peace and happiness in your home. Kids with serious problems need help, not just for themselves, but also for their parents. In a home where there are behavioral issues, there is constant tension. This affects everyone in the home and can slowly destroy a marriage. In this article, you’ll learn how to help your kids and at the same time, help yourself.

What would it be worth to you if you could come home from work and open the door to a peaceful house? You walk inside, your child looks up at you and you smile because you see that he is already doing his homework. Is this a pipe dream? Not at all. You can make this happen by learning a few simple parenting skills. The key to this is learning how behavior modification works.

Behavior modification is a science. It’s all about making measurable changes in behavior. These are changes that you can see. Some of them are immediate. Others take more time. It’s not your fault if no one taught you how to do this. Unless your parents were psychologists, you probably only know a little bit about the subject.

Don’t feel bad if you have to do a little damage control. Let yourself learn what you do not know. Like your kids, you are learning new things every day.

Here are 3 principles that you can apply to kids behavior problems:

1. Be consistent. You hear this all the time. But what does it mean? Hold true to your word. If your child has lost his t.v. privileges because he left dirty dishes in his room, don’t back down. Even when he kisses up to you later and wants to watch his favorite t.v. show, hold your ground. This shows your child that you mean business. That the rules apply to everyone.

2. Don’t comment on your child’s attitude. Attitude is internal. It arises from thoughts and feelings. Children are not mature enough to control their thoughts or disregard their feelings. They just don’t have the sklls. So don’t say things like, “You’d better change your attitude!” This will just make your child angrier and create more attitude because he can’t do what you expect him to. Instead, focus on his actions. Show him how his actions get him into trouble.

3. Kids behavior problems must be tied to real consequences. Parents often rescue their children from consequences. Don’t do this. Clearly define the rules. Agree to them with your spouse. Don’t play “good cop, bad cop” because this will just destroy your marriage. And then your kid will be in control.

If your child has chronic issues, like backtalk, disrespectful behavior, defiance, failing grades or aggression, you need help. Take action now. You don’t need to get a therapist. Instead, do what many parents have done. Get an at-home behavior program that will teach you how to use some simple behavior modification skills. You don’t need a degree in psychology to learn this.

Designed to teach parents strategies that they can use at home, these programs can fix kids behavior problems and get your child back on track. This will mean less stress and tension for everyone, a happier, more peaceful home life and a stronger marriage. It also means that your kids will learn that real change is possible. In fact, it makes change a precedent in your home.

You can deal with kids behavior problems at home. Follow the steps in this article, hold your ground, get on the same page with your spouse and if you need help, get it now.

My friend, Fletcher Millmore, is a British car mechanic and a philosopher. He was explaining an observation of his to me the other day. Fletcher does a lot of driving and one day while traveling down an empty highway, he started looking at skid marks on long stretches of road. Nothing for miles except telephone poles hundreds of yards apart and all the skid marks pointed to the telephone poles. “Odd”, he thought. What is this about? Then Fletcher told me that he remembered the lesson he once learned from a racecar driving coach.

The coach said: “Look where you want to go. Don’t focus on what you want to avoid.” If you look at the telephone pole, you will steer towards it, Fletcher realized. If you look at the space between the poles, you have a much better chance of avoiding hitting a pole.

Something goes wrong and instead of focusing on what we want, we focus on what we don’t want or fear. “It’s a disaster!” we think. “Look how awful it will all turn out.”

Turning the focus away from what we fear and towards where we want to go takes practice. Many of us, me included, have been steering towards telephone poles for a lot of years. But here’s the key to the practice. This is not about the distant future. This about focusing on where we want to go right now.

If the car starts to go out of control, focusing on the trip to the beach we plan for this summer won’t help us avoid the telephone pole. When we are driving through a skid on that lonely patch of road, what helps us is looking at the empty place between the telephone poles this minute. Dreaming of the future, while very enjoyable, is not steering our course in the present.

By paying attention to where we want to go now, we are able to heighten our awareness of what is happening to us while we steer. This gives us critical information. If the car is skidding off the road, wishing that we were on the beach watching the waves won’t help us. Our ability to steer between the poles is increased by our willingness to be aware of right where we are. What is the feeling of our hands on the steering wheel? What is that vibration of the brake pedal under our feet? Are the brakes locking up?

The same lesson applies to healing from an injury. When we are injured what helps us is to focus on what action we can take now. Because my brain was injured, at first I could not swallow correctly. My swallowing reflex no longer worked the way it used to. I might inhale the water that I wanted to drink and choke. Since my body had changed, to figure out how to aim the water I was trying to drink, I had to become aware of what actually happened when I attempted to swallow and how that felt.

Dreaming of future glasses of ice water didn’t help me. I needed to aim the water down my throat when it was in my mouth. To do this I was taught to tuck my chin down to one side to slow the reflex. This allowed me to choose where I wanted the water to go. Tucking my chin, I could feel my throat and mouth as I tried to swallow. I could stop and start again. I could take small sips and work with little amounts.

If I only paid attention to the fact that I could not swallow, if I only thought about what it would be like if I could not drink liquids, if I only aimed at what I was afraid of, I would never have learned to swallow again. I would still have a feeding tube. Each swallow I practiced I was aiming at getting the water where I wanted it to go, not focusing on what I could not do. Each effort to aim was what re-taught my body to swallow.

This takes courage, this willingness to know and be with the fear and the difficulty of our injuries at the same time we are aiming between the telephone poles of our lives. But Fletcher is right, as difficult as it feels, if we don’t aim where we want to go, we make it unlikely we will ever get there.

A man observes evergreens growing along the roadside and thinks that they look pretty, covered with snow. Another man sees the same trees and thinks, “These trees would look good in people’s living rooms at Christmas. I wonder what they would pay for them?”

The first man has an ordinary mind. The second, the mind of a natural-born moneymaker.

In The Prime Movers, Edwin A. Locke provides some interesting insights into the way moneymakers think:

He argues that an active, inquisitive mind is a hallmark of the successful entrepreneur. The most successful entrepreneurs in history, he says, had this sort of mind.

    * Thomas Edison: He was a “virtual thinking machine. Almost until the day he died, his mind poured forth a torrent of ideas, and he might track as many as 60 experiments at a time in his laboratory.”

    * Steve Jobs: He bombarded people with his ideas – his investors, his board of directors, his customers, his subordinates, and his CEO.

    * Henry Ford: “He threw himself into every detail, insisting on getting small things absolutely right… But he never lost sight of the ultimate, overall objection. He had a vision of what his new car (the Model T) should look like. From all the improvisation, hard thought, and hard work came a machine that was at once the simplest and the most sophisticated automobile built to date anywhere in the world.”

This is the first of several essays I’ll be writing on this point: how to think like a multimillionaire (taken from the concepts I’ve learned from 2 multimillioinares that are my personal mentors).

And here’s the goal: to help you discover exactly how they do what they do by figuring out how they think. If you study this and subsequent essays seriously – and implement the suggestions I’ll be making – you may be able to “upgrade” your brain to one that will allow you to have the kind of life they enjoy.

To get started, here are some observations I’ve made from studying my two multimillionaire mentors and from reading about great wealth builders like Jobs and Edison and Ford.

1. A “normal” person is concerned with protecting his ego. When dealing with a problem he doesn’t really understand, he pretends he understands the contributing factors and doesn’t try to find out what anyone else thinks. A person with a multimillionaire mind asks questions incessantly. He has no ego when it comes to learning. He knows that knowledge is power.

2. A “normal” person has a consumer mentality. He looks at a hot new product and thinks about how he would like to own one. A person with a multimillionaire mind has an entrepreneurial men-tality. He looks at it and thinks, “How can I produce this or something similar in my own industry?”

3. A “normal” person is wish-focused. He daydreams about making gobs of money. A person with a multimillionaire mind is reality-based. He is always analyzing his own success and the success of others and wondering how he could learn from it.

4. A “normal” person, when confronted with a challenging idea, thinks of all the reasons why it might not work. A person with a multimillionaire mind sees the potential in it and disregards the problems until he has a clear vision of how it might succeed.

5. A “normal” person resists change. A person with a multimillionaire mind embraces it.

6. A “normal” person accepts the status quo. A person with a multimillionaire mind is always looking to make things – even good things – better.

7. A “normal” person reacts. A person with a multimillionaire mind is proactive.

8. A “normal” person looks at a successful business owner and thinks, “That guy’s lucky.” Or “That guy’s a shyster.” A person with a multimillionaire mind thinks, “What’s his secret?” And, “How can I do that?”

Most importantly, a person with a multimillionaire’s mind likes living like a multimillionaire. He doesn’t shortchange himself when it comes to comfort and luxury. Rather than believing always that pain leads to gain, he thinks, “If I’m smart I can have my cake and eat it too.

You can start your mental transformation by studying this list and assessing your own impulses. Be honest. Identify the habits you don’t have and try to develop them. Rather than think of this process as work, think of it as fun.

You best life now begins with a decision…

We’ve all heard the saying that if your “Why” is strong enough, you can accomplish anything. Most of us have big dreams, whether owning a nice home, having enough money to travel around the world, or gaining financial freedom so that you can spend more time with your family and friends. We know that having a “Why” is necessary, but how do you strengthen that “Why” to the point where you become fearless and work hard at all costs towards achieving your goals?

A major way to strengthen your “Why” is to consistently ask your self what your main purpose in life. I know this is quite deep, and this is something you should take time to reflect and think about. Why are you here on this planet? What kind of difference are you supposed to make? By fully understanding the answers to these questions, you come much closer towards having more control of your life, and your “Why” will become so much clearer.

My mentor told me there are three steps towards defining your major purpose. First, you must define your core values, which eventually defines who you are and what you stand for. Your core values make up your character, and can form the basis of the choices you make in life. Decision making can be a lot easier once you know your core values. Take some time to reflect what your top 10 values are. Examples of values include honesty, loyalty, integrity, balance, boldness, adventure, creativity, generosity, freedom, and security. Once you have written your list of 10 values, prioritize them in order of importance. If you come across two values that you think are equally important, think to yourself, which of the two values would you die trying to defend? Have you discovered your top 3 values?

The next step is to take your core values and put them into action by creating your mission statement. Your mission statement will indicate the person who you want to become and what things you will focus on to get you there. This mission statement will allow you to focus all your energy towards the things that are most important and provide you a sense of direction. You will start to sense your purpose once you craft your mission statement. Specifically, your mission statement contains your core values and the reasons why they’re important to you, and also include what you will do to live by those values.

The final step is to create a vision statement, which combines both your core values and your mission statement. It’s a statement that describes the greatest possible outcome of your hard work. With a vision statement, you will be able to form a mental picture of that desired outcome. Once you have that picture in your mind, your “Why” becomes very clear and you can achieve anything.

By following these three steps, you will begin to understand your major purpose, which is based on your core values, and an action plan of who you want to become.

The basics of setting a goal is an open secret known by top-caliber athletes, successful businessmen and businesswomen and all types of achievers in all the different fields. The basics of setting goals give you short-term and long-term motivation and focus. They help you set focus on the acquisition of required knowledge and help you to plan and organize your resources and your time so that you can get the best out of your life.

Setting clearly defined short term and long term goals will enable you to measure your progress and achieve personal satisfaction once you have successfully met your goals. Charting your progress will also enable you to actually see the stages of completion leading to the actual realization of your goals. This eliminates the feeling of a long and pointless grind towards achieving your goal. Your self-confidence and level of competence will also improve as you will be more aware of your capabilities as you complete or achieve your goals.

The basics of goal settings will involve deciding what you really want to do with your personal life and what short term and long term goals you need to achieve it. Then you have to break down goals into the smaller and manageable targets that you must complete in your way to achieving your lifetime targets. Once you have your list waste no time in tackling your goals.

A good way to have a manageable list is to have a daily and weekly set of goals. By doing this you will be always in the position of going towards you life plan goals. Everyday will give you the opportunity to fulfill a certain goal giving you the feeling of accomplishment.

Here are some pointers that should be taken into consideration in setting goals and achieving them.

Attitude plays a very big role in setting and achieving your goals. You must ask yourself if any part of you or your mind holding you back towards completing your simplest goals? If there are any part of your behavior that is being a hindrance or puts your plans into disarray? If you do have problems in these areas then the immediate thing to do is to address this problem. Solutions may include a visit to a doctor or psychiatrist to control your emotions.

Careers are made by good time management practice. Failing in a career is often attributed to bad time management. Careers require a lot from an individual which often makes the career the life of the individual. Plan how far do you want to go into your career.

Education is key in achieving your goals. If your goals require you to have a certain kind of degree or require a certain specialization or demand a certain skill to be developed, make plans in getting the appropriate education.

Your family should never be left out of your plans. If you are just starting out then you have to decide if you want to be a parent or when you want to be a parent. You also have to know if you really would be a good parent and how well would you relate to extended family members

Personal financial situations also play a major role in achieving your goals. Have a realistic goal on how much you really want to earn. You also must be able to create plans or stages by which you will be able to reach your earning potential.

Physically gifted individuals may be able to achieve sports related goals like being in the National Basketball association or National Football League. Determining your physical capabilities should be one of your priorities. Physical limitations could however be conquered with proper planning.

As the saying goes -’All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, or something to that effect, is by all means true down to the last the letter. Giving yourself a little pleasure: should be included into your plans.

To start achieving your lifetime goals, set a quarter of a century plan, then break it down to 5 year plans then break it down again to 1 year plans, then 6 month plans then monthly plans, then weekly, then daily.

Then create a things-to-do list for the day.

Always review your plans and prepare for contingencies.

The basics of goal settings should not be so difficult once you get to be familiar with them.

The beginning of the year is a time of dreaming about the future, setting new goals and striving towards making this year more of a success than the previous one. Most people have realised that New Year’s resolutions don’t work. You need solid goals to pursue. However, most of these goals usually focus on working harder, doing more and becoming better. So much focus is placed on striving forward that we forget an age-old wisdom caught beautifully in the old English proverb: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Many of us grew up with a very strong work ethic and the high pressure circumstances we live in presently, contribute to this idea of always going at full pace, as if work is all there is to life. Although this driven attitude is admirable, and is commended, an exclusive focus on only work, may leave you as a dull or rather burnt-out person.

Just as important as it is to set goals and work hard, it is also crucial that we laugh and experience activities that provide us with enjoyment and energy. You have probably experienced going home after a long day at work, feeling tired and drained. And how a change of activity can fill up your energy reserves again, like when you play with your children, go for a game of squash, or read an intriguing novel. These activities bring balance into our lives. Unfortunately, most people are not so serious about making these activities a priority in their lives.

As with goals for success we need to set some goals for playing and having fun too. Therefore, as you pull out your calendar to set goals for your work also put some of the following events in your diary. Decide what you will do in each category to increase your level of fun and enjoyment.

1. Sport
Some people really enjoy their sport, whether they are taking part in formal competitions, participating informally in the park or just watching their favourite team play. For them sport can instantly lift their mood and change their state of mind. If you are one of them, what are you going to this year to make your particular sport a greater priority in your life?

2. Culture

Cultural activities also have the ability to lift your mood and change your emotional state. Some people will feel uplifted by going to a gig of their favourite Rock band, while others enjoy listening to a symphony orchestra or watching ballet. Others may prefer a poetry reading in front of a log fire or attending a stand-up comedy evening. Whatever your choice of cultural activity may be, they all have one thing in common, whether you are on stage or one of the audience, they can energise and uplift you.

They have a strong influence on our emotions and can provide us with a lot of enjoyment. Which cultural activities have this effect on you and when was the last time you’ve participated in any of these activities?

3. Hobbies
Other activities that have the power to re-energise you, is participating in hobbies. Something that you can immerse yourself in like an excellent novel. You may have experienced being very irritated about something, but the moment you pick that book up, you step into another world and when you step back to the real world again, the irritation has gone. Maybe that happens to you when you watch a good movie or cook a great meal or maybe you find enormous pleasure in being with animals or having a pet. What hobbies or activities give you pleasure and how are you going to make these a bigger part of your life this year?

4. Travel
Is life still an adventure to you? Did you dream about the places you would visit when you were young? Maybe these mystical places were just your grandmother’s back garden or maybe you dreamt of going to the Taj Mahal or Angkor Wat. Some people love to travel and explore different countries and cultures, while others prefer to stay in their hometown or their own country. Whatever your preference may be, do you still get excited by thinking or dreaming about these places? Are there still places you would love to visit or would love to return to? Where will you be going this year?

Focussing on these four areas of your life and setting goals for each one of them, not just for your work life, will increase the positive experience you get out of this year immensely. Do this and you will have an unforgettable year!

We should be optimistic in life. By optimism, it is meant that one should firmly believe that the best would happen. This belief will give us the moral boost to carry on with our efforts. Only hard and incessant efforts will lead to success.

For our efforts to be incessant, we should positively believe that we are going to succeed. This sort of positive thinking urges us onward till the end is achieved. Instead, if we get discouraged and lose heart, the chances are that we will fail to succeed.

There is another side to this, despite all our efforts it happens that we don’t succeed. If such a thing happens, we should be prepared to accept it. We should remember that defeat is yet another step to success. Our next endeavor may succeed. But instead of that, if we lose heart by our failure and remain inactive, we will be giving success no chance to help us.

Life as we all know is full of hard realities. At the same time life has its bright side also. Life is really a mixture of success and failure. Nobody is entirely successful in life. Likewise nobody can always be the recipient of defeat.

If at one time we fail, the next time we may succeed. And also remembering this philosophy of life, in whatever we do it is always better to hope for the best and at the same time, be prepared for the worst if it turns out to be so. So HOPE FOR THE BEST AND PREPARE FOR THE WORST. Such an attitude will certainly help us in life!
