Here’s a photo I took on Thursday the 28th June at the Dog Rocks in Batesford, Geelong.
I used the Nikon D200 with the Nikon 18-200mm lens at f22.

Here is the unedited image.

I took five exposures, two stops above and two stops below the correct exposure:

I then selected them within Lightroom and chose ‘Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop”
I chose the ‘Surrealistic’ preset, then increased the saturation and vibrance.
Back in Lightroom changed the crop angle and the white balance slightly; this is the result:

For my ‘One Photo a Day’ I’m wanting to upload mainly ‘new’ photos / photos that I have taken recently, but I’m finding myself digging up photos from previous years just at the moment; I’m having trouble finding time to take photos in between revision for exams and assignments just at the moment! Although this is still good: I’m at least thinking regularly about composition, seeing where I went wrong/ could have improved on past photos and improving on post-processing; I would like to make my photography more of a regular thing though! Now posting photos on both Facebook and Google+ as most of my friends and family use facebook! I like the presentation / photowall on Google+. Its not too much effort with my lightroom plugins to just publish to both!

After using my Dad’s D200 for some time, I have felt somewhat limited by the Nikon D100: sensor dust shows up at small apertures, harder to change settings/controls, only being able to take a few photos then having to wait for the images to buffer.

Found a second-hand Nikon D200 on eBay for a good price which I have bought – looking forward to using it in my coming holidays! I will be in Warrnambool for about 2 weeks from about 15th to 29th June.

I recently heard of a pastor in Australia who did a funeral for a 4 month old boy. This child had been murdered by his parents who are now in jail – it hit me that if we are so sickened and horrified at this, then many of us, me included, should feel much so much more disgusted and opposed to abortion than we currently are. If we truly believe that there is a baby in the womb then we should be at least equally as sickened as we are when we hear of someone who is already born being tragically killed.
