London Bridge: each day – over six months – a Chris Boardman took a different photo along the bridge during his early monring commute, past Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast. Finally, he stitched these photos together.

Too many grey days but otherwise lovely.

So intricate, it must have included a huge amount of storyboarding and a great deal of co-ordination.  A nice touch to include fans from across the world.

So is this one of the reasons Apple has been holding back on Flash for the iPhone?  Does Apple see CSS3 as a long-term replacement to Flash? Tough question, but the Apple seems to generally dislike Flash and on the iPhone is could provide app-like functionality.  It’s also a battery killer.

The demo shows what the will soon be possible, however currently only Safari implements Webkit specific CSS Transforms.  The specs have been submitted to the W3C by Apple, hopefully they will become adopted and become a standard across all browsers.

You can try this out straight away with basic functionality using Safari 4, Mac, or with full functionality in the latest Webkit nightlies.

As a Londoner this would be insanely useful, it’s a shame that it’s only available for iPhone 3GS users – due to the internal compass.

Stop motion with wolf and pig by dokugyunyu.

Some thoughts:

• Incredibly intricate, it’s almost like a stop-motion stop-motion> It must have taken hours
• Two million views – wow..
• Some really great ideas such as the pig running down the stairs which are located under the desk (at 58 seconds) and the pig using the lift whilst the wolf goes around the corner to take the stairs (beginning at 1:30)
• It’s also interesting to see how the YouTube comments start to degrade at about page ten – I wonder where it was posted, or linked from.
• I feel inspired..

In a surprising move, the Obama administration have created a Flickr account and have uploaded their first set, Delivering Change.

The pictures give a fascinating perspective behind the scenes in the White House, they contain fun and games, business, a few intimate moments and some surprises; regardless it’s great to see both these scences and the changes going on in the newly transparant the White House.
