Early this spring fashion photographer Natalie J Watts made her way over the pond from London to NYC in hopes of getting inspired and doing a few amazing projects. One of them was a story for Ben Trovato.

"Initially, the shoot concept came from a discussion between Michelle (makeup artist) and myself before we both jetted off individually from London to NYC. We knew that we wanted to capture the energy and mystery of the big city in a nighttime shoot," Natalie tells us.

Almost every time we work closely with one of our extremely talented photographers we find it intensely hard to wait with pulling the wraps off the end result. But, as we are proud of all of the work we produce and publish, there are some projects that make it up on our office wall of fame immediately. Whether it's the end result, the process, or just how the photos make us feel. New York based photographer Kate Edwards' debut story for Ben Trovato is one of them.

About two weeks ago we published Berlin based fashion photographer Lukasz Wolejko-Wolejszo's first story for Ben Trovato. Today we're unveiling Lukasz' second story for us, and this time the story is put to Hamburg and its famous red light district Reeperbahn. "We just want to do some colorful funny story of a girl around this hood. She is the girl to watch," Lukasz tells us, adding "She's a new eye-catcher with more importance than the lights, sex shops and dollhouses around her."

"Pure - simple - raw." That's what Paul Whitfield says when I ask him to describe his story. Three simple words that say it all. The story, which also marks Paul's debut on Ben Trovato, is entitled Eléonor after the model, Eleanor from Select Models in London, and is partly inspired by the model herself, and films, fashion and art that has inspired Paul through the years...

"Well I'm not sure when I got into fashion photography but I remember shooting my first lady back in 2006, while starting off shooting some street life and skateboarding," Melbourne based photographer Daniel Luxford tells us. After setting out on a trip around the world in 2007 Daniel ended up in London, assisting for more experienced photographers. "Overall I only assisted for a month or two, and it was with some amazing photographers. I had good friend and great inspiration there in photographer Jonas Bresnan.. After seeing how tough it is in London and what was needed to produce at the highest level was kind of daunting at first, but also inspiring!! I flew back to my home town Perth, Australia..."

"It's funny - normally we try to be so light and airy about this this thing called fashion, but sometimes it's nothing but an outward expression of our mood. And we aren't always a happy species," photographer Rian Flynn says, introducing his debut story Last Day on Ben Trovato. At a modest lake view farm in Lincoln, CA, he teamed up with his girlfriend, art director and stylist Amber Mortensen, last month to create a dark story for us...

Julia Duffy Domrose started off shooting weddings, and even though she loved the productions, she found it lacked the freedom and creativity of other genres. "I wanted to shoot things my way, and a bride isn't always on board with that. With fashion, I can put on my own production and be as creative as I want," Julia tells us. She has always been an avid storyteller, and has found that photography is the perfect medium for her to express her tales...

Back when the calendar read February the beautiful people over at the file transfer service WeTransfer in Amsterdam launched a new editorial project. Much like a magazine they are in search of new brands, magazines, and artists of all kind to showcase and promote through their background wallpapers.

"We want to support the people who got the skills and talent. And if we can get such nice wallpapers and help them in the same time, why wouldn't we do this?" Fatma Genç at WeTransfer tells us.

Being much aligned with the philosophy of Ben Trovato we were delighted when WeTransfer contacted us for a collaboration. The first Ben Trovato wallpaper that will be seen by millions is a photo taken from Nahoko Spiess and Maxime Gé's wonderful story Hold Your Breath, published on Ben Trovato in March. As many others featured on Ben Trovato the two up and coming Paris based artists both live and breath for their art, working hard to make a living off of their craft.

A great choice by WeTranser's editorial team, that will be working with Ben Trovato ahead to find more candidates for their wallpapers.

And just to show of what proportion the collaboration is: In February they featured Fabian Ciraolo's illustration of Salvador Dali. It aired 23,500,000 times worldwide, ensuring the arising illustrator many new opportunities.

Taking photos has always been a major passion of Sydney based photographer Toby Marosszeky from a very young age, and he has always loved the idea that you could create strong feelings and emotions from a static object such as a photo. But It wasn’t until after he had been to university, travelled, and worked quite a few other jobs that he realized that he wanted to - or even could - make a career out of his passion. "I started by assisting some very talented photographers in more than a few different photographic fields to try to learn more of the technical side as I didn’t study photography, and to work out what type of photos I even wanted to take," he says, adding "- I then started to work out what I liked and didn’t like, by shooting as often as I could. I don’t think you can expect someone to like and want to publish your work if you don’t understand, like it and believe in it yourself."

Now Toby's among the up and coming stars in the business, and today we're pulling the wraps off his first story for Ben Trovato: A Rocky Pattern.
