February saw another EBBF full immersion weekend, organized for AIESEC Alumni and AIESEC members for many years now bringing together students from many Italian universities.
For the first time the event was also opened to a new group of secondary school sudents from Pavia. University Students from prestigious universities such as Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano o Federico Secondo di Napoli o Pavia, Firenze ecc-
A good group of AIESEC Alumni joined the event, for some of them the third time assisting, justifying their presence with statements such as “I need a dose of EBBF inspiration to allow me to continue my inspiration and strengthen my determination in applying my values which is so challenging in my work environment”
Over three days of talks, exchanges, many questions and many answers on the topics of new economic systems, business enterprise, sustainability and development, spirituality in the workplace, the role of women and of feminine wisdom, new energy and new consumption patterns, social entrepreneurship.
The Saturday evening entertainment show saw the participants divided in groups of five performing through some kind of art all that they learned during the event : it was quite extraordinary to see how clearly they had understood the key elements and visions offered during the events and how entertaining they managed to make their shows – it definitely gives us great hope considering the ingenuity and the alignment of values that these young professionals delivered.

EBBF first lesson 2009 at the Faculty of Economics at Bari University

Dearest friends,

Wednesday we had the first lesson at the Faculty of Economics at Bari University. The University rector, Professor Girone introduced me in front of 180 students. Baha’u’llah was introduced as the Architect of the New World Order, as the Author of the texts and principles that give a new vision on the development of the world towards a planet and its citizens. His Name, cited many times during the lecture, it was written on the big blackboard in bold letters and various citations of His Writings were pronounced during the two-hour uninterrupted lesson. The auditorium was in silence until the final applause. It was also good to see some of our Bahai friends in the room.

We thank Baha’u’llah for giving us the opportunity He gives us, but more than anything, we would like to thank His Vision, His Writings, His New World Order, without which we wouldn’t have anything to teach to these spiritually thirsty students.

Giuseppe Robiati of the EBBF – European Bahá’í Business Forum consults with Italian Industrialists on the Social, Ethical and Spiritual Responsibility of Corporations
Borgo Ticino, Italy, July 14, 2009
Giuseppe Robiati on behalf of EBBF (www.ebbf.org) the European Bahá’í Business Forum, an international NGO representing businesspeople across 60 countries and dedicated to inspiring responsible business practices, contributed to the Fandis S.p.A. ( www.fandis.it ) sponsored conference series focussing on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Approximately 30 industrial leaders from the Novara area in Northern Italy met last week to explore and ask – What is the role and what is the influence of corporations and enterprises in their communities? And can companies assist the development of the environment they are connected with?
During the course of the conference a series of consultations and reflections brought about a higher awareness and understanding of the importance of creating a broader sense of well being in society to achieve a stable economic system. Mr. Robiati proposed the re-definition of the enterprise, no longer a profit-at-all-costs approach to business, but rather one which includes new objectives such as:
> the happiness of its employees
> improvement in the quality of life of the community that revolves around the company
> improvement in the application of values
> improvement of respect for the environment
> a more sustainable pattern of production
> more sustainable products
“Amongst the gems that we all share, we can find – love; the wish to serve; and unity. Businesspeople need to work on these three gems in their enterprises and will thus gain spiritual organisations whereby human resources will transform into inspired souls” expressed, Giuseppe Robiati, CEO, SCAC Industrial Group and founding member of EBBF.
