In our research into this product we found hundreds upon hundreds of reviews and the Panasonic SD-YD250 automatic bread maker has an overwhelming percentage of glowing reviews with the vast majority being five stars.  People that have used this machine like the fact that it is quite and goes almost unnoticed until a beep alerts you that your bread is ready.  It is sturdy and does not wobble or bounce around on the counter.  A finished loaf slides out of the baking pan easily.  Cleanup is simple and people report getting good consistent results and of course delicious bread. The reviews for the T-Fal OW5005001 Emerilware Bread-and-Baguette Maker are pretty strong overall.  During our research we found several dozen reviews online and the average user rating was 4 out of 5 stars.  There were a few negative reviews from people that apparently got a defective item but if this happens you can easily return the item for a new one.

There were a couple of people that said the T-Fal OW5005001 was good but breaks easily and one reviewer said that they had this happen with 2 different units.  A couple of people also reported that they were not able to bake good quality bread with this machine and said that they consistently got what they called “dud loaves”.  It’s important to note however that these comments were the exception rather than the rule.

The Reviews:

The price point of roughly $90 for this machine makes it affordable and from the description above it sounds like it would be a pretty good breadmaker.  The problem is that once we started researching the reviews for this product we found that the reviews were terrible.  More than 50% of the reviews we found online were from people that were giving this machine a one star rating — Ouch!

There were some positive reviews of course and some people liked the fact that the machine was quiet and that you could make bread without any hard work.  People also commented that the machine does a good job of mixing the ingredients but that is pretty much where the good comments end.

Many of the reviewers stated that it is very difficult to make good bread with this particular machine.  There are no extra kneading cycles or multiple rise cycles that one would need to make a more flavorful loaf of bread with a finer texture.  The instructions call for warm water rather than having a preheating function and the recipes require lots of yeast to make sure the bread rises rather than using multiple rise cycles.

Many people complained of attempting to make multiple loaves of bread without any success.  People that followed the instructions to the letter had issues with the bread overflowing the container because the bread would rise too high in the machine and just end up making a mess instead of a delicious loaf of bread.

The Reviews:

With this machine there were more positive reviews than negative but some of the other breadmakers we have researched had better reviews overall.  Some of the people that liked this machine like it very much to say the least.  One person that left a positive review came back two years later and added to their original review with more good things to say about this machine.  One review we found said “This breadmaker makes the most delicious breads in the world!”  Another said “best breadmaker ever!”

Some of the features of the Breadman TR2500BC bread maker that people like most are the removable lid that makes it easier to clean the machine and the preprogrammed recipes that allow you to make your favorite bread with the push of a button.  The preprogrammed recipes also make it easier for people with certain dietary requirements to make gluten-free bread.

The Reviews:

There were a mix of positive and negative reviews with this machine and although the positive reviews outweighed the negative reviews it wasn’t by the most overwhelming margin we’ve ever seen. Several reviews did say things like “best machine ever” or “makes perfect bread!” But not all of the reviews were this positive. There were a number of features that people liked about the Cuisinart CBK 200. Being able to remove the paddle before baking so that you don’t end up with a hole in the bottom of your bread was a popular feature. Pre-programmed low carb and gluten free settings were popular as well.

The people that gave this machine negative reviews have a number of different issues with it. The bread pan was one of those issues. The pan is a thin piece of aluminum with a nonstick coating. The thin aluminum does not do a good enough job of dissipating the heat and can cause burning on the bottom of the loaf. People also report that the nonstick coating on the pan gets scratched up and starts peeling off pretty easily. Some people were unhappy with what seems like it would be a great feature which is the convection oven future.
