Google Chrome Dual View comes really handy for multitaskers. It lets you browse two sites in one tab, side by side. It not only works in Google Chrome, but in Firefox too.

It is a javascript bookmarklet. Just go to this page. Then click and drag the link to your bookmarks bar.

Now you don’t have to switch tabs back and forth and back and forth and back when you are comparing something or referring something.

Just click the bookmarklet, and two windows will pop up. Enter the addresses of the websites and tada! You’re dual browsing! Cool, eh?

Many people on the internet don’t really read… they skim. And maybe that is because our text size is too small and uncomfortable to read.

So, here’s a quick tutorial on how to increase text size. In wordpress, changing the font size is really easy. Just go to /wp-admin/theme-editor.php. Make sure you are on style.css.

Look for #content or #entry. Then, paste this code under there.

#content p {
font-size: 14px !important;
line-height:  24px !important;
margin: 1em 0 1.6em !important;}

If your theme addresses your content as #entry, be sure to change #content to #entry.

The #content p requests that all the paragraphs (p) in the blog post shall go with that styling. The 14px is the font size. 25px, line spacing.

!important is for telling that the rule should be applied always, even if another rule for the same element is present.

The margins determine the space between paragraphs.

1em = top margin | 0 = left & right margin | 1.6em = bottom margin.

Whether to get a Mac or a PC (Windows) has been a hot and interesting debate topic.

Mac asks PC to see the site and video he made. So PC remembers a time when they were kids. The Mac kid asks the PC kid to see some artwork he drew. But the PC kid takes out a calculator to calculates the time they’ve just wasted. Back in the present, PC does the same thing.

5. Security

PC shows up with a tall bodyguard, who is Vista’s security feature. He demands that PC cancel or allow every incoming or outgoing interaction PC has with Mac.

4. Choose a Vista

To decide which version of Vista to get, PC spins a big game wheel. But he lands on “Lose a Turn”, and Mac asks why PC even put that space.

3. Broken Promises

PC is very excited about Windows 7 and says it won’t have the problems that Vista has. Mac says he feels like he heard this before, and has some flashbacks about PC saying the same thing about Vista, XP, Me, 98, 95, and 2.0. On the last flashback, PC says, “Trust me.” Returning from the flashback, he says the same thing in the same manner.

2. Bake Sale

PC is having a bake sale and says that he is raising money to fix Vista’s problems. Mac contributes by buying a cupcake. PC convinces Mac to take a bite and as soon as he takes a bite, PC says that it costs $10,000,000, and Mac has to pay.

1. Santa Claus

An animated Get a Mac commercial. PC, Mac, and Santa Claus are singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, but PC spoils it by singing, “He knows when you’ve been bad or good, so buy a pc and not a mac this holiday season, or at any other time for goodness sake. Ohhhh…. come on.. ohhhhh……what?”

A favicon is a website’s icon that appears near the browser’s address bar. It also appears in the browser’s bookmarks.

A favicon serves as your website’s identity and when people bookmark your site, it is easier for them to identify which websites in the bookmarks are yours.

So, here is the favicon how-to tutorial. 5 easy steps to put up a favicon on your site or wordpress blog!

How to Make a Favicon in 5 Easy Steps

1. Create the image

Choose the image that you want to use as your favicon. Or create one yourself. Then crop or resize it to a 36 x 36 square.

2. Save it

You can save it as jpg, png ( for transparency), or ico (the most widely supported format; use this tool to generate ico).

3. Upload it

Then, use Filezilla or another FTP client to upload the favicon to your server, where you put all your other site images.

For wordpress users, you can also use this method:
Go to wp-admin/media-new.php, choose your file, and upload. Then, copy the File URL.

4. Edit the code

Then, edit the code in your header (for wordpress users, go to the theme editor and choose header.php). Add this line

Add it just before </head>. Be sure to replace “http://www.yoursitename.com/favicon.png” with the actual path to your favicon.

1. Ctrl + C – Copy

Who can live without this shortcut? We are copying stuffs all the time.

And this keyboard shortcut is so much easier and faster than Right Click >> Copy.

2. Ctrl + V – Paste

If you copy, you need to paste. So instead of Right Click >> Paste, just hit Ctrl + V.

3. Ctrl + Z – Undo

Oops! You’ve just deleted a piece of text! How to make text magically reappear on screen? The magic words are: Ctrl + Z.

4. Alt, F, W, F – Create new folder in windows explorer

I still wonder why there is still no shortcut to create a new folder. So, this is actually not a keyboard shortcut, but a trick shortcut.

Alt – goes to the menu
F – Selects “File” beside “Edit”
W – Selects “New”
F – Selects “Folder”.

5. Windows Logo + E – Open computer

You know that windows logo button between Ctrl and Alt on the bottom left of the keyboard? If you press Windows Logo + E, it will open the computer.

No, not automatically disassemble the computer and unscrew it, but open the window where you will see the disk drives and the CD Rom.

6. Windows Logo + D – Show desktop; minimize all windows

You know when you have so many windows open, and you need to go to the desktop to open a program?

You don’t need to minimize every single window one by one again. Just press Windows Logo + D and you will arrive on the desktop.

7. Tab – Go to next text area

When filling forms on the web, especially username and password forms, this goes extremely handy.

When logging in, after typing the username, just hit “Tab” and tada! – you are at the password form without touching the mouse!

8. Typing name of file you’re looking for – Locating file

Lets say you are in a folder called ‘Pictures’ and you want to locate a file photo called “mejumping.jpg”, just type “mejum…”. Usually you don’t need to type the file’s entire name – just some of its first letters will do.

9. Ctrl + Click – Individually selecting multiple files

Lets say you are on a folder with lots of photos. You only want to select your good photos. How? Click a good photo. Then, Ctrl + click another good photo. Next, Ctrl + click another good photo!

See? It doesn’t unselect the previous files but adds the next files you have clicked to the selection!

10. Shift + Click – Select files from one end to another

You are on a photo page.. again. And now, you want to select photos from “PICT1209” to “PICT1281”. How? Click “PICT1209”. Then Shift + Click “PICT1281”.

Tada! You have selected all the photos between “PICT1209” and “PICT1281”!

11. Alt + Double click – View file properties

If you want to view the properties of a file, don’t need to Right Click >> Properties. Just hit Alt + Double Click and the properties will appear right before your eyes!

12. Windows Logo + 1, 2, or 3…–Launch quick launch items

If you have items in your Quick Launch (the part on the right of the Start button), here is a very nice way to quickly launch the quick launch.

If you want to launch quick launch item #1, hit Win + 1. Item #2? Win + 2. And so on and on and on… until item number 9.
