This is a joyous, wonderful piece of Indie electronica. For all the talk of sounding like New Order, this album is far from derivative – it wears its influences on its sleeve; you can hear Underworld in there (particularly in the wonderful ‘Red Lights’) but also Orbital, Leftfield and Kraftwerk.

But, like all the best recipes, they have concocted something great and original from the constituent parts. This is a truly great record – the best electronic album since Burial’s “Untrue” and should be a massive hit!

And it looks like the song is ahead of the ghastly ‘The Climb’ by X Factor winner Joe McElderry.

Morello said on the BBC6 breakfast show that the “the one thing about the X Factor show, much like our own American Idol, is if you’re a viewer of the show you get to vote for one contestant or the other, but you don’t really get to vote against the show itself until now.”

“It’s this machinery that puts forward a particular type of music which represents a particular kind of listener. There are a lot of people who don’t feel represented by it and this Christmas in the UK they’re having their say,” he added.

Of the “unexpected windfall” he said he plans to donate some of the proceeds to a UK children’s musical charity.

“My hope is that one of the results of this whole Christmas season is there’ll be a new generation of rockers who will take on the establishment with the music they write,” he said.

Here, here we say at BNM.

Here at BNM we were delighted to see Blur reform this summer and to easily win the title of best band at Glastonbury this year, so we can’t wait to see this.

Filmed throughout the band’s 2009 rehearsals and acclaimed summer tour, No Distance Left To Run finds four members of blur together for the first time in nine years. With previously unseen archive material alongside revealing new interviews and reportage, the film recounts blur’s highs and lows, from Colchester and Goldsmiths, to their headline return at Glastonbury and Hyde Park. No Distance Left To Run is the story of an English band, a portrait of enduring friendship and resolution.
