Union Oyster House in Boston

New England is full of history about the United States. I haven't explored MA yet but we drove to neighboring states already. Anyhow, my SO is great in looking for a good place to eat. We've been to Oyster House on our visit here in February. Yesterday, we took mom for our special lobster dinner and yes we all enjoyed it!

After half day shopping and wandering around Faneuil Hall Marketplace, we had beer and nachos at the Rose Irish pub. Our reservation in Union Oyster House is 5PM. While having beer, we had great convo of our funny past.

The highlight of course is our craving for lobster! We satisfied our craving here at the oldest American restaurant in the US.

My friend's status on FB says " There are two things an average girl wishes; to find the perfect guy and to eat without getting fat". Luckily I have both of those! Although, my eyes are bigger than my tummy most of the time I still eat whenever I want to. I have had gain weight program but still I did not gain my ideal weight. I am around 10lbs underweight but hey I am healthy and I know how to carry myself. I'd rather have this problem than starving mysef not to gain weight.

Many have tried different supplements like musclepharm shred matrix not to gain weight, workouts and even cosmetic procedures. But of course I believe we better watch our calories not to get sick too. Whether you are underweight or overweight, the most important is being healthy.

Fresh and Clean Home

As many of you know, we keeping moving from state to state, buying our own house is not practical for us at this time. Once we are settled in one state that will be the time we can purchase our own home. Anyway, I can say that our landlords are lucky to have tenants like us. We treat and take care of our home as our own. Our San Franciso landlord was so thankful to us and gave our full deposit back. We ensure that the house is clean before we return them. Let say you are from NC, you can easily find carpet cleaners holly springs nc area. If we need to hire cleaners we do that as well as a courtesy to the next family to rent the house. It would not hurt you know and very easy to find reliable cleaners nowadays.

Spring Approach

One day the power was out, I could not work and so to pass the time while waiting for the power to come back, I took my camera and walked out to find subject for my photos. It's spring! The flowers and trees are back! As they say, hobbyist or beginner photographers take photos of pets and flowers so I think I believe them. Here is the proof! See it for yourself, flowers and bees on this beautiful spring season.

I am always challenged to take photos of small subjects, although I have no macro lens I used filter and nikon 50mm lens with 1.8 aperture

I am horrible in post processing so I don't know if the color is pleasing to the eyes

Playing with lightroom to reduce noise

I like vibrant and vivid colors the original photo is not really far from the edited ones

I am not into instgram looking photos, I wanted to show at least the closest color to the original subject.

Overall, my bee photo session was a success! The power did not come back until late in the afternoon so I spent my time playing with lightroom.

Tanning, No Problem

While some wanted to get fair skin, some would love to have a fairly tan skin. Am I lucky to being tan? Indeed! Tanning now is not hard to achieve, with the right airbrush machine and proper use, you will reach your tanning goal. Surely you will enjoy your tanning moment in the comfort of your own home while relaxing. If we have a bigger place, I would love to make a spa and beauty room for myself and my friends. It may not be this time, but in the future that is possible when we are settled in one place.

Shades and Decor

My home office window is facing the road and the side is woods, in the morning i like to roll up the blinds so I can see the great views outside. Everything seems to perfect until after lunch, the sun is hitting my computer and it's hot inside my office. I don't want to damage my computer but I also don't want to put sun catcher. I started looking for pay less decor and found some cellular shades that you can customize. This would be perfect for my office, bet it will be more comfortable working and my day will always be productive.

Remodeling

Few years ago we went to NC to attend a special occasion. The newly remodeled place we stayed in was phenomenal with beautiful view, great pool and I love the bathroom. It feels like you are in the comfort of your own home. They must have a great place to get bathroom remodeling raleigh nc that will make your home and bath remodeling as easy.

On the other hand, I just had my brother remodeled my mom's bathroom last month for a growing family, the bathroom size could not accommodate everybody. I did the layout with 2 sinks and a big shower, although it did not turn out as I visualize it, the bathroom was still perfect for them.

Cat Rock Park

Having fun does not mean spending money at all! I thought of having family time where it's relaxing, quiet where you can feel the serenity of the nature. I did not fail, I enjoy the beauty of nature but most of all I enjoy spending time with my family. I gave my husband a task to look for a park where we can take our dog and we can have our family walk. He did a great job!

The place is about 2 miles away from our complex, nice neighborhood, enough parking and a soccer field I believe which can also be used a fenced dog park. This is a good place for family picnic, the green vast in the midst of woods is beautiful!

The trail is neat.

The small creek

We walked an hour but our dog did not look tired at all. There are a lot of people with their four legged pets in the area. Pups had fun sniffing each other too. After our walk we drove around the neighborhood and we found a place to get lunch. The lunch place is called Dairy Joy, it has benches and parking. What a nice Sunday we had, what a treat!

Getting Around...

So blogger has an update! I feel like I'm a newbie again in blogging with this new update and the streamlining of blogger. Let's see how I will adapt with the changes, first I changed my layout by just customizing one of their preset templates, played with the colors and fonts but I got to check how will this layout looks like in pc. Sooner or later I will switch completely to MAC and just use pc for work. How hassle when I travel, I got to take both my macbook air and my dell. I could just take my mac while on trip but most of work are done in pc say for example the macros on excel do not work on mac.

Or another option is just take the work laptop and never mind the personal macbook. I so love my macbook so I think having an extra lb in my carry on is not an issue. Anyway, let see if this blogger update will now keep me from updating my blog or shall I be lazy again after a week?

Today is sunny but chilly here in Boston. I'm planning to take our dog to the lake and bring my camera with me. I better have some breakfast and get ready to make the most of our weekend.

Used Gears for Music Lovers

My brother in law is a musician, their group plays at different 5 star hotels and other private parties. One time his guitar broke and it caused him a lot of trouble. I got a message from my sister if I could help them which by the way I had no idea what to do. The only solution they could think of was to borrow a gear from his bandmate but for how long? Gears are not cheap at all, buying a new one means they have to sacrifice the familys' budget for a week or two.

They opted to Used gear instead as compare to brand new price this is more affordable and most of them look like new and they were slightly used at affordable price. Just like this Norman Rodriguez guitar, if you buy a brand new one it cost a whooping six grand while the used one costs almost half of the price. Great savings, isn't it? I understand why some would go for used items it save them tons. I myself will sell my gear in the future too, but before doing so, I will upgrade first before letting go of my old one. It's only a year old and not beat up at all.

Makati City Philippines

Makati has always been special to me since my childhood. When I was 5 my mom worked here, back then it was not a city yet, but I considered it the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The landmark I was looking for was the Dusit Hotel used to be Hotel Nikko Manila Garden. When I see this hotel I know I am in Makati area where across this hotel are the villages for rich and powerful people, the Dasmarinas and Forbes Park.

Walking by the Ayala Ave was always fun, people in a hurry wearing professional outfit, guys carrying suitcases, nice cars, tall buildings. All of those made me dream to work in Makati one day with my corporate attire. That got stuck in my mind at such early age, never did I know that it would actually be realized.

Makati City is now the business capital of my home country Philippines. The city that marked a lot of memories in me, studies, work, shopping and a lot more from high class places down to squatters and homeless, we all have it here.

I can say that this city is the most discipline city in Manila, I commend the local government here. I spent years in Makati, study in college and worked here for years. The photo above is the Peninsula waterfalls, another landmark along Ayala Ave which made the greatest memory in my life. Yours truly got engaged by that waterfalls one midnight in October 2006, from then it changed my life completely and the rest is history.

Music Lovers

Just in case you don't know yet, Filipinos are fond of music. Yes they go crazy over music and almost everybody can sing. Having a broken can voice is not an issue at all as long as you can grab the microphone and read the words on karaoke then go don't mind the people who listen to you. During my last visit this month, I requested my friend to set a get together with our colleagues so we can bond after 8 long years. One thing I requested from him is not to reserve a place with loud music, acoustic ambiance is fine but please not a karaoke sing a long place. I don't want to spoil the fun the night after a long flight so I wanted the place to be less quiet.

I just don't understand how Pinoys are going gaga about karaoke. On my birthday celebration at the resort I had a terrible headache after listening to very loud music all day. It seems that every cottage in the resort has a karaoke machines with max volume and the worst part they play and sing all at the same time so name what a karaoke battle is. When we get back to the hotel I can still hear the echoes of the loud music in my ears, they were like bees in my head.

New Procedure

Technology plays a major part of our economy nowadays, from small to ginormous things that are mostly product of science and technology. This is also a major best friend of health professionals. They never stop discovering new things to help people get better and healthier living. They always introduce new techniques after studying on it for years such as new equipments, medicines and procedures. New techniques for new back surgery , laser surgeries, new pills for cancer to name a few.

Equestrian

There are many things I miss about Enchantment State, easy to drive, sunny, our house and my friends. How would I forget the golf area in our neighborhood and the sorrounding ranches and if you are lucky enough you can even see some equestrians parked in our neighbors' driveway wearing their beautiful kerrits and nice outfit one afternoon. You can drive to the desert area and see nothing but the beauty of a colorful desert.

Going back to NM is always in our list, only time can tell when would that be. The easy going people and the beautiful high desert are its best features, needless to say the arts especially in Santa Fe. In every state that we lived in, NM has a special part in my heart, this is where I became a USC and grateful to be part of their SF once a year oath taking ceremony.

Moon Captured!

I forgot about this photo until yesterday I saw this in one of my folders. I thought it was cool so I cropped it to make the subject appear larger. I am horrible in editing so bear with this photo, all I did was adjust the WB in Lightroom3. I remember taking this photo in early 2012 in Albuquerque NM, no not during the lunar eclipse or supermoon. At that time while photo hobbyists and enthusiasts were patiently waiting to take their moon photograph perfect angle, yours truly was already snoring in her bed.

I didn't see the image in the moon until I downloaded the photos in my computer. Wow, I was amazed! It looks like globe! I thought it was a bad photo at that time and didn't bother to look at it after photographing the noon.

This photo will always remind me of our place in NM, the house with the pool and a relaxing summer night sipping a drink while laying on the bennch by the pool. In short, I miss Albuquerque!

GPS on the Go!

Being in a new city means you need to get familiarized with everything again. Driving here is not as easy as ABQ, roads are narrower and drivers are more aggressive. My car has no built in GPS but that's not a problem I am using app on my smart phone. For those that do not have built in gps on their car or no smart phone, there are many affordable gps in store like Garmin GPS and the likes.

It's safer if you have a portable gps, you can stick it on the dashboard where you can see it well. We need it nowadays, I like the road warnings, cop warning and real time map.

Kabang The Hero Dog

I first saw this pic on my FB wall from a friend I click hide post as it bothers me and not sure if it's genuine or one of those photoshopped photos spreading all over FB. Then I saw this again on TFC headlines so I google it to make sure this is indeed real.

The story of this dog is heartbreaking and amazing, hopefully they will be able do something to reconstruct her face after she gives birth to her puppies. Such a hero pet to save 2 kids from being hit by a motorcycle.

We Needed Equipment

We are in a rush! My brother has accepted a job overseas soon but my mom's house is not completely done yet. I would like it fenced and gated for the kids and dogs safety. Being on the main road, some of pets have had unfortunate end due to those truck drivers who think they are the king of the road without thinking about the residential area. Anyway, I asked my brother to get an estimate from the welders in town for the gate but it just cost too much.

Besides, he thinks if he does the custom gate by himself he can do it better than them. One thing I admire about my big bro as he managed to build our house based on how I like it. After renovating the bath and kitchen his next project is the gate. I would like to get him tools and equipment like the smith equipment at least everything is done before he leaves for another country. We can do it in 2 months! I want to stay at my mom's when I come visit my hometown.

Retail and Pharmacy Jobs

Last night, we ran to a nearby CVS pharmacy to get some toiletries and as expected I go straight to the makeup section where I spend almost all of my time while in the store. This is such a one stop shop for us when we needed some over the counter medicines and hygiene stuff that save us a trip to a regular grocery store. Aside from these, you may want to start your career with CVS by looking at cvs jobs online. Almost everything is now handy in our generations, you don't need to buy newspaper daily when looking for a job. You can even stay at home in the comfort of your pajamas while searching online.

I've been there, done that! Finding gifts to your half is always a challenge! Forget about gift cards and such! The thoughts counts and you want to see the smile on the face once they receive a gift from someone special. During our dating stage we plan and think carefully what would great boyfriend anniversary gifts. For us women, it's so easy ! Flowers, shoes, dress, purses or a nice dinner date and it seem like guys have variety of options what to get for us during special day.

Getting some sweet bites for guys is not a bad idea at all! Last V day, I got my presents from my SO, came Friday afternoon someone was knocking on the door, the flower guy! Then on heart's day I got 2 DG perfumes, how sweet! He knows the scents I like and he's always good on picking the right one for me.

I so love shoes! Whenever I see shoes my eyes were getting bigger and drooling to get a pair. I don't hoard them, I give them away and replace with new pairs. Hubby would often say, your shoes look similar to each other, he wonders why I keep buying. I don't know even when I was still single I love to collect shoes. I just can't help it! I used to have 75 pairs now down to 50.

You'll Be Mine

Almost Valentines Day! Wait a minute hubs just got me a pair of shoes so I need to wait for the right timing to ask for this lovely tote bag. I may get this next month after I paid my own bills! Women do not get enough shoes, purses, clothes because we were born to shop!

I already have MK tote purse but since we don't get enough purse I want to add this to my collection. Perfect size to put my dslr camera in with other kikay kit. This purse is exclusive at Macys, if I get this for myself I would just close my eyes paying $300.

But hmm if I didn't get it by next month, this will go to my wish list for anniversary/birthday in few months. Shall I wait then? Let's see if I can wait but that purse has to be mine!

Technology and Office Management

Whenever asked by my SO what job do I really enjoy doing, my simple answer was office management. Yep, i think my course was not match with what I want to do at all. But in some aspects it does coordinate with what I enjoy doing. I always tell my single friends that your dream job changes when you get married. I just want to be a simple employee with less stress and headache at the end of the day. Being in computer field I mostly learn stuffs on my own, microsoft office and now on Mac.

I first learned how to connect dlp projector to your computer during the corporate meeting but that was also part of my training back then. So, if I am going to look for a new job that would be in an office setting again in a corporate world.

Silver and Golds

I just read the news the other day about the gold they found somewhere in the Southern part of of my homeland. Silver and golds are always great investment, the value does not depreciate so if given a chance this is where im going to invest my money, that is if I have some money. At this time I can't afford to buy silver bullion bars but who knows one day I will be able to. I know dreams are free so why not!

Seriously, who would not want to own golds and silvers anyway. I remember when the Mt. Pinatubo erupted way back in 1991 there were crystals from the volcano. People were busy picking them and selling them, I just dont remember how much was the cost for a match box size.
