Mt. Pinatubo Changed Our Lives

Mt. Pinatubo is an active "stratovolcano" in Central Luzon, Philippines. I am not going to write more about Mt. Pinatubo as you can simply search them and information will be given to you. Anyway, what I am going to share is based on my experience when Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 that lasted about 5 years. How it changed my life and my family.

I've never heard not even in my history class about Mt. Pinatubo until it erupted on June 12, 1991 when I was in the 6th grade. I can't forget how the sky looks like at that time, for me it looks like cauliflower. After 3 days (June 15, '91), everything has changed our classes were canceled. First time in our life and my grandpa's life that we experience raining mud, sand and small stones which are still warm. At exactly 2 pm the whole place turned into night and every 15 minutes the earthquake shakes our place too with thunders and lightning. We do not know who's saint are we going to call at that time and for the very first time I saw my grandpa cries (77 yo) and hugging each of us.

My brother and cousin had to stay on the roof to shovel the sand and lava down so that our house wont break down. On the next day the land area is fully covered with almost 2" sand, lava and mud. Years passed every rainy season our place was in danger, it scattered our house and move to another place but unfortunately on the last year of Mt. Pinatubo attack our next house again was devastated but we did not give up. After couple years we decided to rebuild our house and now family is living there. (photo source: pls click the pic)

Energy Saver Dirt Devil

Most of the time hubby is the one who vacuum because carrying that heavy vacuum is killing me as it is bigger than me. Not to mention that I do not like carrying the long cable and lifting it up left and right sometimes my dog is biting the cable and pulling it. I am also uncomfortable vacuuming the stairs using that long tube which I do not think that it will clean the steps very well. I may convince hubby to replace our vacuum with Dirt Devil instead because it is very handy and can save more energy.

Hubby Fulfilled My Birthday

Surprise! My loving hubby fulfilled my 29th birthday with balloon and flowers. He opened the door with flowers and balloon and the sweetest greetings for his wifey's birthday. He knows how to please and makes me happy. Everyday I'm thanking God for giving such a blissful married life with no major trials at all.

Thank you so much m booboo and to my extended family here in the US for loving me as I am. I couldn't wish more but to continue the blessings in our life and good health. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family involve in a fil-west relationship. Having my hubby, in-laws makes me feel the most special girl in the world. I love you my "asawa" and thank you for being such a wonderful hubby.

Maintain Your Physique

Health is very important to us and getting fit is more important. We need to have regular exercise to maintain our physique and look great of course. During winter time it's hard to go to the gym which sometimes is closing because of the weather. If you can get your own exercise machine why not and set it up in the comfort of your own home. You can get treadmill or elliptical machines so you can still do your exercise regularly.

This is what my friend does she set up her extra room as her gym room with exercise machines in it so while doing her exercise she can still watch her baby.

Used Harleys in NC

While we were on the road to the NC beach I was up most of the time and every time I see stores that I am not familiar with I ask hubby what is that or those. I also saw the store of used Harleys and I blurted "I want one of those!" and do some racing like what I saw in the movie. I know I am too tiny to ride motorcycles but I would love to try it with complete gears and accessories like a real motor rider.

Finally PRC has rolled out the result of the successful Pharmacist Examinees for June 2008. It took a while for them and until now their website is still acting up. Thank you Manila Standard for the list. To those who have friends and relatives who took the exam check their names here: The top 10 was not listed yet so I think they are still doing the math on it. Time to celebrate board passers!

Guess what? I heard the door bell rang wondering who was is and it's our postman delivering me a green box. I thought someone sent me a package for my birthday but when I saw the sender wow it's from IZEA wow thank you very much! I thought those are the Triscents samples but when I open it see what's inside.

Happy 4th of July stuff! I really appreciate them for remembering me this 4rth of July. Hubby and I tried to play the SocialSpark freesbie already and he ate some candies. He already set up the plane and we are ready for the 4th of July tomorrow. What about do some barbecue tomorrow at the park with our bbq sauce? Once again, thanks IZEA for recognizing your bloggers.

Touch of Personalized Pens

When I was working in a call center in PI pens is my favorite stuff to claim when I get award coupons for being an outstanding agent of the week aside from the gift certificate. I collected about dozens of custom pens with our company name on it. I gave it away to my friends as souvenirs before I flew to the US last year and even brought some with me.

I like having a custom pen especially when we check in the hotel I take the pen with me with the hotel name on it because I remember the time we spent on the said hotel same with the company giveaways too.

I always wanted us to have a family picture in a big frame to put on our wall. I am looking for a good picture to blow up and have it framed. Finally, I found a custom picture framing website where I can customize my own frame according to size and style. As soon as I get our best family picture I will design my custom frame online and order it instead of having our picture printed and end up cutting it to fit on the frame.

Taken during Aunt Dickey's high school reunion in TN last month where my MIL and Popsie met them there and had a good time together. They aren't love dogs , are they? This is the cabin house am not sure if this belongs to Uncle Ken and Aunt Suzie but looks like they had such a wonderful time.

I don't know the names of their dogs hahaha. It's their adventures the three siblings met again and hoping to visit that place some time.

When I was working overseas I and friend were assigned to the lingerie department where managed the shop with imported brassieres and lingerie mostly from Europe. We like to dress up our mannequins every 3 days with sexy stuff that ladies would love to have. We have variety of silky collections of fine lingerie that sells like a hot cake. My favorite of course is the babydoll style as they are so sexy and stylish. I can't help to get one when the new collection arrive as we get discounts too. I bet most women's weakness is to have classy and sophisticated lingerie in their closet.

Another weakness of a woman is to have a pair of intimate apparel and sometimes mix and match the color and style. Have you heard about the Prima Donna Bras? I've learned from their history that it was originated in Germany. I would love to have one of their lacy intimate apparel to pair with the sexy lingerie and these are great when you wear see though blouses as it adds accents to your outfit when you go to parties for sure you will rock. But of course they have many styles to fit for your outfit like the satin brassiere that is good when you wear cotton t-shirts.

Another year older for me! February month doesn't like me anymore unless it's leap year hahahha!!! How does it feel? Well, I still feel the same as what I feel yesterday. I can't thank enough our creator for all the bountiful blessings he has showered to me for more than 28 years. All the trials that made me strong and every little thing that gives meaning to my life.

Thank you everyone for the greetings and for being a part of my life. We may not all see each other in person but each of you is part of my life and my blog life. I started making over my sister's blog template last night, finally it's almost done. After breakfast I went to my dental appointment for my 2nd to the last visit to finally get my teeth fixed. Now, I can feel the pain and I cooked "lugaw" for my lunch. My next dental visit is on the 18th then after that yippeeeee I can relax from grinding.

I need time management huh, so far I'm done visiting those who left me message in my cboxes and will attend to more plus pick up my tags tonight before going to bed.

Baguio Cathedral Church

Baguio City is the Summer Capital of the Philippines because of its cool weather and one of the tourist destinations. I have been to Baguio City many times when my boss was taking me to their house in Baguio when I can. Her family is great and we used to attend the mass in Baguio Cathedral Church. Take note I have to listen to the homily because at any moment after the mass she might ask us including her 2 children about the "sermon" of the priest. She thinks that I do not pay attention but she is amazed when I tell her the story. I owe her a lot because of her I developed my English more and I gained confidence too.Some celebrities are also exchanging their vows in this church the most visited landmark in Baguio City. During our last trip to Baguio while everyone went in the church I was left inside the van sleeping because Ruth and I traveled all the way right after I got off from my call center job.

My friend was problematic with her computer as it runs too slow whenever she open a file. She was thinking it has virus then I asked her to check her computer memory to make sure it has enough space. She find out that it's running out of space and advised her to upgrade computer so that she can store more files and data. She is going to upgrade her computer instead of deleting the files stored on it which mostly are games that she loves to play.

Whenever I go to cinemas in PI I like to hold the ropes before getting inside the cinema where you get in the line and give your ticket to the agent. I like the material which is mostly color maroon basically it's a chain with cloth covering on it and hook to a post. You can also see them in the airport at the ticketing area or customer service and in the red carpet or many other places.

Finally, the innocent me found the name of it. You may call me slow but honestly I do not know before that they call it theater rope because I usually call it line chain. I'm glad I found the Stargate Cinema website where you can get different theater accessories. If not because of internet I wouldn't know the exact name of this rope and stand.

Croquet Saturday Afternoon

Today hubby and I went to the Lyttle's place to pick up our inherited antique table from Andy's grandparents given to his parents and now that we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary we inherit it from mom. Aunt AD and Uncle Jon has the game ready in their backyard, thanks goodness the weather was good and no thunderstorms.

I won the very first time I played this game last year but this time nope not my luck I guess. I call it golf's cousin or mini golf. They have some rules in playing this and it challenge me a lot when I can't get the ball in the wicket. We played 2 rounds and we had a lot of fun playing the game. Continue Rising with Cisco Networking

We do not want to be left behind with the AS400, assembly language, Cobol programming and the Local Area Networking. Information Technology continues developing systems according to demands, as an IT professional we need to keep updated with the latest technology in terms of computers and new released software. We are not satisfied with just computer to computer network that has limited functions while with our technology now we can do wireless networking and the like. To those who are interested in career growth as a stepping stone you can take a CCNA or Cisco Certified Network Associate to equip you with the basic network technologies and from there you will surely grow in the career path you have chosen.

I believe our university in college was the pioneer to offer Cisco Networking course in the Philippines back in 1999. Lucky enough during our senior year it was first introduced in our college as an elective course aside from robotics and artificial intelligence. Our department DEAN suggested that taking Cisco Networking as an elective would be an edge for our course. It was not included in my course curriculum but they convinced for the said course which nobody regret taking it. Being a Cisco Certified is an advantage when you are applying for a job and if you have Cisco certification you are like a hotcake in the big companies in the Philippines what more here in the US. We know how hard the competition in IT field is but when you are Cisco certified you can even demand with the compensation which you think is fair with your knowledge and training.

I grabbed this pic from a co-blogger Fernando from Davao. I was amazed when I saw this on his blog and of course I asked his permission before posting it here. Filipinos are known to be resourceful in many things I bet you will agree with me. This is really true! A single motorcycle can load 8 people, amazing! I thought my cousin was great when he can have 9 passengers in his trike but this one beat him.

Pinoys are talented in many aspects, I miss the Philippines so bad. A simple life that many of us want to go to other country to have a greener pasture but one thing is for sure there is no other place like home. I and hubby can't wait to move to the PI for good.

Traveling is fun and I love it when hubby is able to take me to his trips. I would love to go back to Atlanta because I enjoyed the last time we went there.
