Depeche Mode (French for "hurried fashion") was one of the first and best of the British synth-pop bands, combining breathless, melodic pop with perky electronics. The post-Clarke band's moody dance-pop brought Depeche Mode worldwide superstardom in the second half of the '80s. The band survived overexposure, drug problems, and all the other traditional rock-star travails, and came out older and wiser, entering the 2000s as a fully functioning, mature unit.

Noisettes - Don't upset the rhythm

The band formed in 2003 when guitarist Smith and singer Shoniwa of the band Sonarfly began playing and writing together more often. The two met drummer Morrison (formerly of Living With Eating Disorders, Willis, Six Toes, Jaywalk Buzz and others) in December 2003 and played a number of gigs across London over the winter.

In January 2009 the song "Don't Upset The Rhythm" appeared on the advert for the Mazda 2, the song will be the first single from the new album Wild Young Hearts. The album is due for release on the March 30, 2009.

The band are set to undertake a UK tour prior to the release of "Wild Young Hearts", and have taken the unusual step of using their Myspace blog to appeal for local bands to appear as support acts on this tour. These included Paul Dixon in Manchester, This Beautiful thief in Birmingham, Emily Breeze in Bristol, Young Fathers, Jack Butcher in Glasgow.

After finding fame in the all-female trio Mis-Teeq, she released her debut solo album in 2008 after the initial UK release of the album Fired Up was cancelled. Fired Up was released in Japan in February 2008 under Victor Records. Dixon was crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion in December 2007, beating actor Matt Di Angelo in the final.Her 2008 comeback single "The Boy Does Nothing" has been her most successful to date, gaining her first UK Top 10 hit, peaking at number 5 and spending over three months in the UK Top 20.

Leona Lewis from Hackney, London was the winner of the third series of the UK reality TV show, THE X FACTOR. The album title is a nod to the 1996 DC Comics miniseries about Superman returning from retirement to save the world. Set some 20 years into the future of the current DC Universe, it deals with a growing conflict between "traditional" Superheroes (such as Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League) and a growing population of largely amoral and dangerously irresponsible new vigilantes. The book draws heavily on biblical apocalyptic imagery, especially that of the Book of Revelation.

Ida Maria Børli Sivertsen, is a Norwegian rock musician known primarily by the stage name Ida Maria. She was born and raised in the small town of Nesna in Nordland county, Norway, but she currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden.She gained considerable success in Norway in 2007 after winning two national competitions for unknown artists (Zoom urørt 2006 and Urørtkonkurransen 2007) and playing very successful shows at the annual Norwegian music industry festival By:Larm 2007 and 2008. Her singles "Oh My God" and "Stella" were both played regularly on Norwegian national radio station NRK P3. She has later expanded her popularity outside of her native country, namely in the United Kingdom, where she has appeared on Later... with Jools Holland, interviewed by The Times and performed at Glastonbury Festival. Sivertsen is reported to have the neurological phenomenon of synaesthesia which, in her case, means she sees colours when she hears music.
