Look for Kent State to get their 4th consecutive victory Saturday against lowly 1-7 Akron. This is also a revenge game for the Flashes after losing in overtime to the Zips last season. Kent State is 16-5 ATS after 2 or more consecutive wins against the spread since 1992. The Golden Flashes are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. a team with a losing record. The Golden Flashes are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Zips are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record. The Zips are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 conference games. TCU at San Diego State Betting Lines

This weekend Texas Christian University tries to extend its winning streak to 11 games, 9-0 this season, when play in Qualcomm stadium against the San Diego State Aztec’s. So far, so good for the Horned Frogs but in order to keep their BCS hopes alive, they cannot afford any losses, yet any close games. With teams such Iowa and Cincinnati already ahead of them, they not only beat teams but most likely blow them out in order to have a chance at the national title. For this matchup, TCU has pretty much dominated the series, but I did notice that they have only won by 12 points and 2 points in their most recent games at Qualcomm stadium. However, this years team could be different and our NCAA football odds currently have the Horned Frogs as 24.5-point favorites in San Diego.

Texas Christian has played extremely well this season, winning all eight games so far including matchups with Virginia, Clemson, and BYU. This is arguably the best TCU team head coach Gary Patterson has had yet and their chances for the national title still remain up in the air. One thing is for sure though. Any losses or close games will almost indefinitely take them out of the title considerations. Therefore, this Horned Frogs defense, which currently ranks 1st in the entire nation, has to continue to make things happen. Senior defensive end, Jerry Hughes, must also stay healthy. He is a vocal leader to this team and if he were to get injured, it would be a big blow. If you bet NCAA football you should jump on board with BetUS and take advantage of their $500 match bonus.

Surging San Diego State has played very well recently, winning three of their last four games. Coach Brady Hoke has really started to get the ball rolling in these past few games and also has them playing their best at home. With great execution I do believe the Aztecs could beat the spread, but I don’t see any major upset coming. It will most likely come down to the defense, which lost its two best players from last year in Allen and Boudreaux. In my opinion, to cover the spread, the Aztecs must limit this TCU team to less than 35 points, which only three teams have been able to achieve so far. I say this because TCU has averaged over 40 points a game in its last three games, while only allowing 13 points total.

To wrap this up, I stand confident that TCU will cover this spread. The 24.5 points they need shouldn’t be too hard considering how they have been playing on both sides of the ball recently. If the defense stands strong and allows 14 or less points, which it has done in 6 of 8 games so far, TCU should easily put up enough points to cover. I’m simply going to rely on recent games and statistics for this game, putting my money on TCU.

USC vs Arizona State Odds

Long live the Trojan warriors. Southern California suffered their worst loss in over a decade last weekend as they got pounded by Oregon 47-20. Matt Barkley was terrible in every which way, his 1,727 passing yards and 9 touchdowns to 6 interceptions this season continue to have me question if this kid has all the tools necessary. He is still a freshman so expect to see progress as the years go on. Joe McKnight has rushed for 712 yards and 7 touchdowns this season with an average of 6.4 yards per carry. Leading receiver Damian Williams has caught 43 passes for 607 yards this season but has only 4 touchdowns. Now, onto this USC defense that has been so poor it has me bewildered. Over their last three games they have allowed 37 points per game while surrendering an unreal 487 yards against, that is just a number you would never expect to hear under a Pete Carroll coached team. I rarely single out specific defensive players as x-factors but in this particular game I will do just that and call Taylor Mays the guy that must show up. He is not only the most talented defensive player they have but Mays also is the emotional leader of the bunch. If they think they’ll walk into the Sun Devils stadium and grab an easy win, they are sadly mistaken. However, if Southern California comes to play by executing plays and not missing assignments on defense, I expect them to be just fine. Look for Joe McKnight to be featured on the offensive side of the ball in both the passing and running game. Our current NCAA football lines show the Trojans favored by 10 points with a total set for 45.5 points.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are 4-4 this season and have run into a minor two game slide. They got smashed at Stanford 33-14 and then last weekend fell short 23-21 in a home game vs. California. Quarterback Danny Sullivan has thrown for 1,658 yards with a poor touchdown/interception ratio of 8 to 7. This could be a real bad game for him as he goes up against an angry Trojan secondary who will be aiming for a blowout. The main worry head coach Dennis Erickson will have is whether or not his running back Dimitri Nance can go. He currently is listed questionable with a shoulder injury. Nance has rushed for 472 yards with 5 touchdowns this season. The wide receiver duo of Kyle Williams and Chris McGaha will be counted on to make big plays tonight. Williams has caught 37 passes for 488 yards and 3 touchdowns while McGaha has caught 39 passes for 478 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively the Sun Devils are very good. They allow 19 points per game and allow 296 yards of total offense per as well which is better then USC’s defensive numbers. The x-factor here tonight will be the efficiency, or lack their of, in Arizona State’s running game. The Trojans have been exposed in that area of late and if Nance is healthy enough to go, then Arizona State will have a very good chance of pulling off this home upset. You can count on Sullivan to be below average from the quarterback position but if Nance and the defense can pick up the slack in other areas, then we could be in for one heck of a game. Week 9 NFL Picks

The Baltimore Ravens clash with the Cincinnati Bengals in a key divisional game. Cincy already has taken a game from the Ravens in their stadium and could take a two game lead over the dangerous Ravens. The Ravens seemed to figure things out after their bye week in a blow out win against then undefeated Denver. Play: Ravens -3

Matt Schaub and the Houston Texans will look to gain ground on the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. The Colts have been decimated by injuries on the defensive end, which might play a big role going up against a very good Texan offense. Houston goes on a bye after this game so expect them to leave it all out there. Our current NFL odds show the Colts favored by 9 points. Play: Texans +9

Arizona QB Kurt Warner has to bounce back from his five interception performance last week against Carolina. A turnover happy Chicago Bears defense will be waiting for him. The Cardinals have actually played better on the road this year than at home and expect their passing game to click once again. Play: Arizona +3

Will New England finally figure out the Wildcat attack of the Miami Dolphins? Vegas seems to think so, but Miami has been one of the hotter teams in the league after a terrible start. The Patriots seem to have their swagger back after a slow start and have had two weeks to prepare for this game. Could get ugly. Play: New England -10.5

Eli Manning has publicly stated that this is a must win situation for the Giants against the Chargers heading into their off week. The G-men have lost three in a row and haven’t came close to covering a spread in those losses. Look for that to change this Sunday when they will out to prove doubters wrong and lay it on the Chargers good. Play: Giants -4.5

If the Carolina Panthers take down the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints in consecutive weeks it would be a huge statement. Jake Delhomme has improved his play and the running game is using both backs to form a nice duo. New Orleans didn’t cover last week and I think this number is inflated once again. Play: Panthers +13

Even when the Cowboys are winning, there is still controversy surrounding the team as disgruntled WR Roy Williams is questioning why the timing is so off with QB Tony Romo. The Eagles have to love this and are coming off a dominating performance against New York. Dallas is the more healthy team and has to still be stewing about the embarrassing loss to end last season against Philly. Play: Cowboys +3

Monday Night football features a key AFC game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. I think this game comes down to a field goal either way. Denver got worked by Baltimore a week ago to suffer their first loss, but they should be able to use it as a lesson to get better. Take the points here as the Broncos are tough at home and the Steelers aren’t road warriors like in the past. Play: Denver +3

Week 10 College Football Picks

The fourth ranked Iowa Hawkeyes will look to keep their perfect record in tact when the Northwestern Wildcats come to town. Northwestern has won 3 of the last 4 meetings including an upset win in Iowa City last year. The Wildcats will need a healthy Mike Kafka at QB to have any chance of pulling the major upset. Play: Northwestern +16

South Carolina will seek their seventh victory of the year when they play at 4-4 Arkansas. The Razorbacks feature one of the most explosive offenses in the nation behind Ryan Mallett. SC has the defense to slow down the Arkansas attack and their offense is no joke itself. One of my strong plays this weekend is the Cocks’ getting a touchdown. Play: South Carolina +7

The Navy Midshipmen renew their rivalry with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Jimmy Clausen has thrown for 18 touchdowns and should have a nice opportunity to build on those numbers against an average Navy defense. The Midshipmen gave Ohio State all they can handle and have the rushing attack to keep the ball away from Clausen. The Midshipmen are getting 12 points according to the latest NCAA football odds. Play: Navy +12

LSU @ Alabama is the featured match-up this week in college football. The winner will have the inside track to representing their division in the SEC Championship game. Nebraska hopes to avenge an embarrassing loss to Oklahoma last year at home. The Huskers will go with their true freshman QB over veteran Zac Lee against a very good Sooner defense. Nebraska always gets up for night games in Lincoln and this freshman quarterback actually gives them a better chance to win. Play: Nebraska +4.5

It will be an elimination game for the Big Ten conference title when the Ohio State Buckeyes make the trip to Penn State. Terrelle Pryor is still trying to live up to the hype that surrounded him coming out of high school. The Nittany Lions have been on a tear since their only loss of the year versus Iowa. Look for more of the same dominating football at home Saturday. Play: Penn State -5

The Oregon Ducks are the hottest team in the nation, but they need to be aware of a sneaky good Stanford Cardinal team this weekend. Jim Harbaugh’s team has a big time running back and their true freshman QB Andrew Lucky is going to be a major factor in the Pac-10 for years to come. Getting a touchdown in Palo Alto in a very good spot here gives the Cardinal the check. Play: Stanford +7

Expect the total to be in the 70’s when the Houston Cougars and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane do battle. Cougar QB Case Keenum is putting up video game like numbers and has his choice of playmakers to get the ball to. They should be favored by at least a field goal in this match-up and I think Vegas is way off on this one. Play: Houston -1.5

UConn at Cincinnati College Football Odds

The Cincinnati Bearcats are up to #5 in the BCS rankings and if things fall just right and they win out, they could play in the BCS Championship game. First things first, the Bearcats need to take care of their own business and UConn is the first team up on their schedule. The Bearcats may have to do it again without the services of Tony Pike, but they have been on a great roll and Zach Collaros has proven a very able backup quarterback. This one will be played in prime time, so they’ll be that little extra motivation for both teams. The Bearcats of Cincinnati have a very balanced football team that is impressing just about everyone across the nation. The offense is high powered, even without their star quarterback under center. Collaros has completed 75% of his passes this season and has 9 touchdowns and just one interception. Not bad for a backup eh? In addition to his proficient passing Collaros is a great runner that can hurt the defense with his legs. Isiah Pead and Jacob Ramsey both average over 6 yards per carry in the Bearcats backfield, so they can run the football very effectively as well. Mardy Gilyard is a play maker for the team who is a great receiver and special teams player. The Bearcats defense often gets overshadowed by the offense, but it is very good as well. The defense is allowing just 12.9 points per game and is solid against both the pass and the run game. Most college football picks show this team winning out, but it’s never easy come this time of year.

The Connecticut Huskies have had a difficult season, with tough losses on the field being dwarfed by a tragic loss off the field. The Huskies are 4-4 and need to make a push if they wish to make the postseason again this year. Zach Frazier is the new quarterback since Cody Endres went down with a season ending injury last week. Frazier started the season as quarterback, but Endres had assumed the quarterback role before his injury. Frazier has 7 interceptions and just 3 touchdowns, so he’ll have to take care of ball better if they are going to have any kind of chance in this one. Andre Dixon and Jordan Todman are both doing a pretty good job in the backfield for UConn, but they definitely miss Donald Brown. The defense is giving up 20.6 points per game, but in their last 3 games they have been giving up an average of 161 yards on the ground per game.

This week’s college football lines show the Bearcats as a 17 point home favorite. The posted total has been set at 51.5. Both teams have been great against the spread of late. The Huskies are 8-1 against the spread in their last and the Bearcats are 6-2 in their last 8. The home team is 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 meetings.

Last year UConn put a hurting on Cincinnati, but I don’t expect to see the same this year. Most football picks show the Bearcats moving on and staying unbeaten and I think they will do so quite easily. Look for Collaros and the offense to move the ball well on the ground and cover the spread in this game.

Purdue at Michigan NCAA Football Lines

Michigan (5-4) started off the season with a sizzling 4-0 record, but has since cooled off dropping 4 of their last 5 games and falling to almost last in the Big Ten with a 1-4 conference record. They’re hoping to pull out a win against another bottom tier team when they welcome Purdue (3-6) to the Big House this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET. The Boilermakers are the 6 point underdogs according to our NCAA football betting lines and are looking for some redemption after a 37-0 throttling they took from Wisconsin.

The Purdue offense was almost non existent last week in the shutout against the Badgers. They managed only 141 total yards, largely in part to 3 turnovers and 60 rushing yards. It’s a far cry from the team that upset then #7 Ohio State. As a whole, the offense demands more respect averaging 24.5 ppg on an average of 372 yards per contest. QB Joey Elliott has thrown for over 2000 yards for 14 td’s, with Keith Smith being his primary target. He’s been a great receiver that’s hauled in 60 passes for 779 and 4 td’s. RB Ralph Bolden tops out the all runners with 757 yards and 5 td’s.

Wisconsin straight bullied the Boilermakers stop unit last week, gashing them for 266 yards and 3 td’s on the ground alone. That has been a weak point all year, as they’ve allowed almost 168.4 ypg and 21 of their 27 td’s. While stopping the run has been a problem, the defense has done a good job forcing turnovers, with a total of 18. DE Ryan Kerrigan has been excellent pressuring the QB, amassing 9 sacks on the year. The unit as a whole has 24.

The Wolverines are led by QB Tate Forcier, a freshman who started off strong but has struggled lately. On the year he’s thrown for over 1400 yards and 9 td’s, but failed to throw one last week in a loss to Illinois. He’s also a threat with his legs, as he’s 4th on the team with 214 yards and 2 td’s. Carlos Brown and Brandon Minor have helped lead Michigan to a 207.6 ypg clip on the ground, accounting for 9 td’s and 787 yards together. 23 of the 34 td’s scored have been by running the football.

While the offense has been scoring points, the defense has been allowing almost as many. Last week they gave up 500 yards to Illinois in a 35-10 loss after leading 13-6 at half. On top of giving up 382 ypg, the unit hasn’t been able to force turnovers, tallying only 11 through 9 games. Michigan will have a problem against Purdue’s running attack, as they’re giving up over 160 yards per contest and were gashed for 377 last week alone! Brandon Graham has been the one shining star with his 6.5 sacks and 17 TFL’s.

The achilles heel for both of these teams has been turnovers. Through 9 games, Purdue has committed 26 turnovers to Michigan’s 21. Both offenses can put up points, it will just be a question of who can limit their mistakes and which defense will implode the least. Michigan does have the home field advantage where they’ve won 5 of their 6 games, and they’re playing to become bowl eligible, which gives them the slight edge and the win. Louisville at West Virginia Football Odds

Sportsbook has a 50% signup bonus for all of those interested in betting college football. Louisville is down on their luck in the Big East with an 0-3 record and 3-5 overall. They’re hitting the road to take on one of the conference leaders in West Virginia (6-2), who’s only Big East loss came at the hands of South Florida last week. The college football spreads have the Mountaineers favored by 20 with the total set at 54. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET this Saturday Milan Pusker Stadium in Morgantown.

The Cardinals have suprisingly had 3 different QB’s start in their 3 wins this year, although none of them have been great. Through 8 games there have been a total of 6 td’s thrown to 9 interceptions. To score points, Louisville relies on their running game, which has accounted for over 68% of their touchdowns. RB’s Victor Anderson and Bilal Powell lead the charge with 847 yards and have found the endzone 9 times. Head coach Steve Kragthorpe isn’t giving up any information on who will play this week in an attempt to make it harder for WVU to gameplan.

Last week against Arkansas State the Cardinals did great against the run, allowing only 45 yards rushing. That’s an area they’re hoping to build on, as they’ve been allowing 147 per game against opponents. The secondary, however, was hit up for 303 yards in the air and needs to get better for any hopes at becoming bowl eligible. MLB John Dempsey has been delivering punishing hits all year with 80 tackles, and is also a nightmare for QB’s with his 4 sacks. Check out Betfirms for some winning football picks.

The Mountaineers were stymied for 118 yarsd on the ground in their loss last week against USF. That was a far cry from their normal average of 182 a game. RB Noel Devine had one of his worst performances, gaining only 42 yards on 17 carries. For the season he’s been much better, with 954 yards and 10 scores, and is looking to get back on track against Louisville. QB Jarrett Brown has thrown for 1567 yards and 9 td’s, and is 2nd on the team in rushing with 289 yards and 4 scores. His favorite receiver thus far has been Jock Sanders, who at 55 has almost double the numbe of receptions than than the next receiver on the list, Alric Arnett at 28.

The defense of the Mountaineers has done a good job forcing turnovers. 9 different players have an interception for a total of 12 in that department, and they’ve also recorded 19 sacks. Although they had a breakdown last week for 189 yards, the team’s run defense has been superb averaging under 100 ypg. Against the pass they’re much more susceptible, and they can definitely do better in points allowed at 22.3. While the Cardinals may not represent much of a threat, they have yet to play conference leaders Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.

West Virginia has flat out better players on all units, and have the advantage of playing at home. While the Cardinals have a strong running game, it plays into the strength of the Mountaineers. Unless they can somehow grind out consistent yardage on the ground, this game won’t be close. Look for WVU to win the game but have trouble covering the 20 point spread. Week 9 NFL Predictions

The Dolphins went into Foxboro and won last year, but I don’t think it happens twice in a row. They’ll get their yards and keep the game pretty close, but the Patriots will outscore them. Prediction: Patriots 31 Dolphins 21

The Packers travel to Tampa to take on the winless Bucs this Sunday. The Packers are a good team, but they haven’t been able to get that huge win they need to prove they belong near the top. This one won’t do it, but they shouldn’t have much trouble here. Prediction: Packers 31 Bucs 14

The Chiefs have had an ugly season and the Jaguars are one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. The Jaguars rushing attack should be the difference in this one, but I wouldn’t want to put much money on this one. Prediction: Jaguars 21 Chiefs 14

The Houston Texans are really hitting their stride of late, but things get much tougher as they battle the Colts this weekend. The Texans should be able to score some points on the Colts, but keeping Peyton Manning and the Colts out of the end zone will be tough. Prediction: Colts 31 Texans 21

The Bengals are 5-2 and tied with the Steelers atop the AFC North, but Baltimore is just a game back and they a very talented football team. This will be a huge game for both teams. This is pretty close to a coin flip game, but I’m going to take the team with the veteran defense in a close one. Prediction: Ravens 21 Bengals 20

The Arizona Cardinals and the Chicago Bears are both 4-3, but both have had very strange seasons thus far. The Cardinals are 3-0 against the spread on the road and the Bears defense could have trouble containing the Cardinals wide receivers. Prediction: Cardinals 24 Bears 20

The Washington Redskins have been very bad of late. This week they try to knock off Atlanta on the road. The Falcons offense has proven they can put plenty of points on the board, so the Redskins likely have very little chance in this one. Prediction: Falcons 28 Redskins 13

The Seattle Seahawks have disappointed so far this season, but they get the Lions at home this weekend. The home crowd and the better defense will help Seattle win this one. Prediction: Seahawks 28 Lions 17

The Saints are still unbeaten and this week it will be the Panthers with a chance to stop their run. The Panthers looked great last week, but the Saints are absolutely playing out of their mind at home of late. They’ll be plenty of points scored in this one. Prediction: Saints 35 Panthers 20

The Titans got their first win last weekend and now they head to San Fran to take on the 49ers. The Titans probably have more talent overall, but one has to wonder if last week’s nice win was an abberration or not. I’ll stick my neck out and go against most football picks in this one. Prediction: Titans 21 49ers 17

The Giants have fallen apart of late and the Chargers are playing much better football. Can Eli and the Giants get their act together in this one? The Chargers are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 on the road, so I’ll hesitantly pick the Giants. Prediction: Giants 27 Chargers 20

The Cowboys have looked much better of late, but so have the Eagles. The NFL betting lines show the Eagles as 3 point home favorites in this one. This will be one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. Look for Donovan McNabb to have a solid game here. Prediction: Eagles 28 Cowboys 24

The Denver Broncos finally lost last weekend, and now things get no easier with the defending Super Bowl Champions coming to town for Monday Night Football. This should be a very hard hitting game and I expect it to stay pretty low scoring. The Steelers pull of a late win in Denver. Prediction: Steelers 17 Broncos 14
