In recent years, the opening 1m2f [Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes]() at Glorious Goodwood has been a Mark Johnston benefit, with the Middleham trainer winning it on four occasions (14-1, 14-1, 12-1 and 8-1) as well as providing placed horses at 28-1, 25-1, 14-1, 14-1 and 8-1. Only Ajman Bridge prevented a Johnston one-two-three in 2014 (at odds of 14-1, 8-1 and 25-1).
