image-left-align track-bias-diary-v2It was difficult to come from well off the pace in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on 21 August, with the first three home receiving the comments “chased leaders”, “chased leader” and “chased leaders”. The next six home in the 19-runner field were at a disadvantage after being ridden patiently and those that have run since have performed with credit – fourth-placed Sole Power (“held up in mid-division”) won a Group 2 at the Curragh on his next start, seventh home Wind Fire (“mid-division”) was just touched off in a Group 3 at Newbury and ninth-placed Move In Time (“held up in mid-division”) landed a Group 3 at Longchamp.
