Google presents jingle bells doodle on Christmas Eve

It's time for Christmas and Happy Holidays, Google has posted a new doodle on their site for global location with a new jingle bells doodles. Google wishes its visitors in special way by playing jingle bells musical tone on their site.

Once we click on the six colored buttons on the doodle, it starts playing jingle bells musical tone in a very melodious form. This is very sweet gift by Google for all of us.

Its a way opted by Google that they used to change their logo by the special days and occasions as per the different locations, Google has posted 259 doodles in the year 2011 on its home page. If you want to check all the listing of doodle then clcik here.

Be Careful While Using Net In Cafe

How to customize your blogger header

Sometimes you might be interested in adding some widget on the blogger header, but due to some restrictions it is not possible in an easy way. You need to remove the restriction first and then only you will be able to customize it. Here, I am going to post the method of customizing your blogger template.

Remove the lock form the header section

You might have noticed while arranging the page items in the layout that you are not able to add widgets in the header section of the page, this is because by default this section is in locked state. For adding widgets in this area it needs to be unlocked.

To unlock this go to Design> Edit HTML and search for the below line.

<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='no'>

and replace it with the below statement

<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='' showaddelement='yes'>

This new code will remove the limit of widget count in the header and will add a Add A Gadget link in the section.

Add new widgets and get their Ids:

Now go to the page elements and add your widgets with the help of add a gadget link. Arrange them as you want them to be appeared on the blog. The widget on the top potions will be on the left and the widget on the right position will come on the right side of header.

Once you are done with this get the widget ids of the newly added widgets, In case you don't know how to check widget ids check here. Understanding widget id and Section id in blogger

Add CSS Code For New Widgets:

Now you have added widgets in the blog header but they are coming in horizontal position one on another. Your want them to be arranged in a sequesnce in a line they you have to add some css code for this.

Go to Template > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS and add the following code.

border: 1px solid;

display:inline-block;

*float: left;

height: 200px;

overflow: auto;

margin: 10px 5px !important;

vertical-align: top;

}

.header #Header1 {

width: 50%;

}

.header #widgetID1, .header #widgetID2 {

width: 20%;

}

In the above CSS code you need to replace the widget ids which you get in the previous steps. Pay attention while doing this. You can set the width as per your need as long as the sum of all the widths, padding, margins and border of widget does not exceeds the width of header. In that case the rightmost widget will be pushed below the other widgets. Arrange these items accordingly.

Check your arrangement in the preview pane, your target must be to align the widgets in a way that they must look nice on the blog.

Understanding widget id and Section id in blogger

Let’s say you want to customize your blog like changing the color of text, background etc. You very well know that this can be easily done with the css. But you must understand the blogger design its section and widget.

As you can see in the below picture that a group of widgets is known as section. Whenever you add a widget using Add a gadget link, the blogger adds a new widget and automatically generate a unique id for this widget. For modifying its style you must know the id of this widget.

For your better understanding I am taking example of Blog Archive in my blog, To get the id of this widget click on the edit link of this widget. You will get the below pop up on your screen.

A little Indian Boy wanted Rs50, so he prayed 4 weeks, but nothing happened.

When post office staff received a letter addressed 2 God, they forwarded it 2 the President.

... ... President was so amused, she instructed her secretary 2 send the little boy Rs 20.
As she thought Rs50 would be a lot of
money for him.

The little boy was delighted with Rs20 & decided 2 write a thank u note 2 God.

Add Dofollow Attribute to your blogger template

A blog which is not having nofollow attribute is known as dofollow blog. Dofollow is an attribute which used to tell the search engine to follow the outbound links and index them in the search engine. It sends some amount of traffic to the outbound links as well.

But, It is very important for you that you understand what a dofollow attribute is and what are the advantages and disadvantages of this attribute. It is very common that comment gets increases in the dofollow blogs and readers gets involved in discussions. In this way it increases number of unique visitors and improve traffic of your site.

Steps 1: login to your Blogger account

Step 2: Click on Template

Step 3: Click on Edit HTML

Step 4: Click on Proceed

Step 5: Check the Expand Widget Templates

Step 6: Now you have to search for nofollow in the HTML, you will find below lines in your code.

<a expr:href='data:backlink.url' rel='nofollow'><data:backlink.title/></a>

<a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'><data:comment.author/></a>

Now Remove the highlighted text ie: rel='nofollow' from the HTML and you are done :)

800+ students rejected Infosys Offer Letter

India’s top IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Cognizant are recruiting fresher’s in a huge count. They are selecting 1000’s of students from the colleges through the campus interviews. However, the question is how many of the selected students are joining these companies.

Recently, a case happened in Amrita University, where Infosys and Cognizant went for campus recruitment. Infosys gave their offer letter to 1255 while cognizant selected 1263 students, Around 970 of these students were having a common offer letter from these two companies, and they have to decide that which company, they are willing to join. 83% of these students preferred cognizant over Infosys.

It clearly shows that students are much confidant on Cognizant as compared to Infosys. Most of the students think that they will get a lot of growth in Congnizant. The main reason behind this is that COngnizant has well during the recession, and they will be secured in Cognizant’s hand.

So you are browsing in some public place like office, school, college, etc. and do not want to show it to others. Maxthon is a great browser having a feature called as Boss Key. It is a unique feature of this browser that distinguishes it from all others.

Let's say you are browsing through Facebook or some personal sites in your office and suddenly your Boss comes on your desk, who does not like all this kind of surfing. What will you do? You will just close your browser and will leave everything that you have searched in the browser.

Boss Key is a great feature which just disappears your browser with all its opened Tab. It does not minimize the window to taskbar but it totally disappears from your desktop. Even can not be found in the task manager.
