Days after it was inaugurated, the Theme Park Dastaan-e-Shahadat at Sri Chamkaur Sahib — a saga of unprecedented valor and supreme sacrifices — will be opened to the general public from Monday (November 22). The state-of-the-art Dastan-e-Shahadat, an ambitious project of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, was dedicated to the people of the State on November 19.

“Dastaan-e-Shahadat would be opened for the general public from 10 am from Monday onwards and 11 galleries would be shown to 40 visitors each,” said Ropar Deputy Commissioner Sonali Giri.

Pertinently, the ‘Dastaan-e-Shahadat’ museum, on the historical land of Sri Chamkaur Sahib, will significantly increase the number of visitors after its completion. The monument is dedicated to the martyrs of “Saka Chamkaur Sahib” (the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, fought with the Mughals in 1704) in which two elder sons of the tenth Guru along with 40 other Sikhs were martyred.

The museum has 11 galleries showcasing the Sikh history and glorious heritage from Pehli Patshahi Sahib Guru Nanak Dev to legendary Sikh Warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. The presentations there would enable the viewers to have an immersive experience thus taking them back to an era in which these events actually took place.

You don’t raise heroes, you raise sons, and if you treat them like sons, they’ll turn out to be heroes, even if it’s just in your eyes. I knew my father had done the best he could, and I had no regrets about the way I’d turned out. Regrets about the journey, maybe, but not the destination. Thank heaven for the special relationship between fathers and sons. It is blessed from above. A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child. Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example instead of his advice. I love a son, who is my heart. A wonderful young man, daring and loving, strong and kind. Father – A person who doesn’t buy branded clothes, shoes, or perfumes and lives a simple life so that you can afford all of them. If you want a son to grow up into a man you can be proud of, be a man he can be proud of.
