Every nation, race, tribe or clan has special people gifted with the knowledge and skill or training to perform "intentional and systematic manipulation of the soft tissue of the body to enhance health and healing;" that is, therapeutic massage. Some people attribute the healing effect of the technique to the recipient's own "innate force", or occult powers; some credit a so-called "source", "energy", or their various gods or idols . To accept the notion that healing is by a person's "innate force",or an idol is to deny Almighty God His honor and glory and power . Prophet Isaiah proclaims this edict from God. " I am YAHWEH the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols." Isaiah 42:8 In the Judeo-Christian scheme of things,Yahweh Elohim, Creator of "energy" is the One who heals.( Exodus 15;26 ).

Jesus, the Son of God, gave central importance to love and healing during his brief ministry on earth."

In a published article entitled “Orthodox Theological Roots Of Holistic Healing”, Dr. John Chirban, Ph. D, Th. D, Director of the Institute of Medicine, Psychology, and Religion in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at Harvard Medical School and The Cambridge Hospital, writes, “ Holistic healing, which was part of the established Jewish tradition, had its earliest roots in the miracle accounts of healings by Jesus Christ."

Cancer Patients Benefit from Massage Therapy

Being diagnosed with any type of cancer can be an extremely daunting and traumatic event. A cancer diagnosis can affect the physical, emotional and spiritual essences of a person, which can be energy draining and depressing. Massage therapy is emerging as an effective way for patients to keep their lives in balance while receiving treatment.
Undergoing regular massage can help patients gain better blood circulation, which assists the lymphatic system and gives a small boost to overall immune function. Massage can also reduce swelling, lessen soreness and heal the areas around incisions.
Massage therapy can allow a patient to feel control over the body while it lowers stress levels, which can result in a more positive mood and outlook. Being able to relax and get proper sleep is an important part of the treatment process. An exhausted patient will be unable to fight the disease effectively.
Sometimes it is not possible for a patient to have a full-body massage, but touch can still be a powerful healing tool. The reflexology method, which involves gentle pressure to certain areas of the feet and hands, can be as beneficial as a massage and promote healing in other parts of the body.
Massage therapy can be performed on the same day as other treatment regimens for the convenience of the patient and to provide the most benefit. The comfort of touch can bring peace of mind and allow the patient to return home in positive spirits.
One very important consideration regarding massage is that it must not be performed on or around a tumor area or a surgical site where a tumor has been removed. If a patient is even suffering from a serious cancer, such as mesothelioma, one must be extremely careful in participating in massage therapy. It is thought this action may cause the cancer to recur or spread. While this is rare, it is best to proceed with caution.
Any cancer patient who is interested in adding massage to the treatment process can easily obtain a referral from their doctor. There are many massage therapists who have been trained for the special needs of cancer patients and will tailor a program accordingly. While massage is not a cure for cancer, it can improve the quality of life during treatment and after as the body heals.
Cancer is not the end of life. It is just the end of the beginning of life that leads to a new phase and a new outlook.

Please let me know whether the gospel has changed from what the scriptures say concerning who is a Christian, that is, who is saved. The answers you gave in your television interviews regarding who is and who is not a Christian were misleading and different from the gospel of John 3:16 that your own revered father Billy Graham preached.

Rev Graham, the last time I checked from the scripture, it was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Himself who said this: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believed in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

LORD Jesus Christ goes on to add, “God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:17
Those who believe in Him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the Son of God.” John 3:18

In case any one of us may find this definition of a Christian by our LORD Himself too hard to follow, Apostle Paul , under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit states clearly, “If you confess with your lips that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For one believes with the heart, so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth so is saved.”Romans 10:10

“The scripture also says, “No one who believes in Him will be put to shame.” Romans 10:11

There's a world wide outpouring of grief over the death of Whitney Houston . It is reported that the last song she performed about 72 hours before she died was “Jesus Loves Me”.

Despite her personal shortcomings, and none of us is free from our own, and beyond the outpouring of grief, it is comforting to know that Whitney Houston was a believer who strayed away , but realizing her lostness, was turning back to Christ; now she's in her Father's home. We believe, once we are saved, we're always saved. We are assured about this by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself who said this; "there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." ( Luke 15:10)

I did really get the sense that she was really trying to make a comeback," megachurch pastor T.D. Jakes, executive producer of Houston's upcoming movie "Sparkle," said .

"And I think that the reason that so many people are devastated is because it is not just her music, but it is her misery that attached itself to the hearts of Americans, and we watched her struggle to regain her footing after a tumultuous relationship and bouts with abuse and substance abuse.

"I think the believability of her human struggle made her song and her acting that much more powerful because we recognize that often it is the caged bird that sings," Jakes said, according to CNN.Although today, Whitney is absent from the body, she is present with the LORD. Should Christians Give Or Receive Massage Therapy?

I am an ordained minister of God in Christ Jesus. I enrolled at Sanford Brown Institute, at Tampa, Florida, to study massage therapy following a personal conviction that I was called by Christ Jesus to go, preach, teach the gospel, and lay hands upon sick people, and they will be healed. Mk 16:18. But during my second module, I became so overwhelmed by doubts that I questioned if it was biblical at all for Christians to give or receive massage, considering the invasiveness of touch therapy. I was troubled even more that Asian Bodywork Therapy, including Ayurveda and Energy-Based Bodywork Therapy, have world acclaimed acceptance and recognition mainly on account that they have been in practice for thousands of years. Significant parallel credits have also been lavished upon the religious traditions and principles that produced and govern the aforementioned modalities; but there is a dearth of such comparable citation for the real Author and Healer of our spirit, soul, and body, Almighty God, Who gave Christ Jesus authority to heal the sick by the Touch of the Holy Spirit...

..I had felt discouraged and, on many occasions, .............In time, I came to realize that some of my doubts about massage therapy arose from my total ignorance of proven health benefits of palpating and manipulating soft tissues and, in part, also from my unease at the inroads of Eastern religious philosophies into many areas of massage and the seclusion of Judeo-Christian beliefs; but now, I have learned to identify and separate biblically supported techniques or modalities from what the scriptures forbid, while noting historical facts that allopathy was not so long ago a discredited practice and the term “allopathy” was applied pejoratively; and that ancient Greeks deified Asclepius, “father of medicine and healing”; his rod, a snake-entwined staff remains a symbol of medicine today, sometimes without the snake. In all these, I have learned sufficiently to recognize the baby in the bathtub and not to throw both away...
