My Holiday is going to end!

It is going to over! Yeah, it is my super long holiday. It was since April until early of July. And I am going back to UNITEN on early of July. The first thing when I reached there is I need to pay the first month of the UNITEN apartment fee. Next to do is settle down my luggage and start to clean my new room. I want to apply a new apartment so I can continue to stay with my previous housemates. ;)

Awang Adek: Pudu jail not something to be proud of
The Pudu jail is not something that Malaysia can be proud of, Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Hussin told the Dewan Rakyat today.

He was responding to a supplementary question from Fong Kui Lun (DAP-Bukit Bintang), who had asked if part of the prison wall - with the world's longest mural - would be preserved,

He also asked whether a museum would be built to commemorate the heritage value of the former prison.

Awang Adek explained that the government had looked into the matter and decided that Pudu jail is not a heritage site and will not be made into a heritage site.

"Firstly, this is because Pudu jail is not something that we can be proud of. There are other things that we can be proud of rather than a prison, even if it is old," he said.

"Since we don't consider it a heritage site, there will be no museum."

At the Parliament lobby, Fong told reporters that he had spoken to the Kuala Lumpur mayor and suggested that the wall and the main entrance should be preserved.

"I have asked the mayor to issue a directive to the developer, UDA, to impose a condition for the preservation of the main entrance and the wall facing Jalan Hang Tuah," said Fong (right).

"The mayor seems to have a positive response."

He added that he would collect signatures for a petition to be sent to the mayor as soon as possible.

Demolition of the wall around Pudu jail is expected to start tonight.

Demolish UPSR and PMR?

Few days ago, our Education Minister had suggested UPSR and PMR to be demolished. I was shocked when I heard this for first time on a chinese radio station.

Some inexperience party suggest that PMR should be taken off. But for me, it's the most important part for us to overcome and to target for SPM. If the PMR is torn down, then how teachers can select their all potiental students to enroll in a suitable course or known as stream in Form 4 and Form 5? Can each school select students based on their in-school-examination? This is not fair to other schoolas well. Because each school, they have different sets of questions thus lead the difference in the difficulties level. Schools also need not to follow Educational Minister guidelines on how they should set the questions, such as 5-3-2 or 5-2-3.

If PMR still continue, teachers can select which student have potential to be whether in science stream, arts stream or business stream. PMR Students will know they need to fight againts each other, not only in the same school, but the whole country! They will have struggle more to get excellent result. But they should not also miss out the extra-curricular programs that carry about 10% or can be categorized as a voluntary subject.

About UPSR, if the government really want to revise and "save cost" (thanks to our government because our examination is free of charge), UPSR can be removed. The present of UPSR can make our child to become very stressful because every mother wants their child to be number one. Then who is going to be number two and the list goes on? Tuition center for primary pupils are like seperti cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan (a lot in number). Everyday, weekday and weekend are filled, that is going to tuition center.

So what I can hope is government must listen to the rakyat and do something correctly.

No more funds from Putrajaya for excellent student

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz admitted today that the government did not have the “capacity” to finance the studies of the growing pool of bright students in the country.

The minister in the prime minister’s department said the public would just have to accept the reality of the situation although it was an unpopular decision.

“We have to tell the truth. We just cannot afford it. Just like how a parent cannot afford to send their children abroad to further their studies, the government cannot afford it.

“We do not have the financial capacity that permits us to send every good student abroad,” he told The Malaysian Insider at the MP’s lounge in the Parliament building here this afternoon.

Nazri, who is the minister in charge of the Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships, was explaining the Cabinet’s decision to eventually scrap the 1,500 scholarships offered to students for undergraduate studies overseas.

He said the government spent billions on scholarships annually and could no longer afford to accommodate the growing pool of bright students.

“There are two things here. One, it is financial capacity. Secondly, it is this: however we do it, whether we reclassify the As that the students get to A+, A and A-, the fact remains that in this year alone, the number of students who obtained 9A+ were over 1,200.

“This means that the boys and girls are getting more and more clever and we cannot reduce the number of scholarships we give out by re-grading the As any further,” he explained.

As a result, said Nazri, the Cabinet last week agreed that PSD scholarships given to students applying for courses in foreign universities would only go to those pursuing postgraduate courses and not undergraduate courses.

He noted that the 1,200 of the 1,500 presently offered to the students would slowly be phased out from next year onwards.

The remaining 300, which make up the quota for the Perdana Scholarships, would be retained.

“This is based solely on merit. Like this year, 80 per cent of the 300 scholarships were given to non-Bumiputras,” he said.

The Perdana Scholarships, he noted, would be given out to the cream of the crop and only to those accepted in Ivy League schools.

“For the remaining 1,200, we will phase them out completely over the years. For example, last year, from the PSD, we gave out 2,000 scholarships, including the Perdana Scholarships.

“This year, we reduced the number to 1,500. Next year, we will continue [to reduce this further],” he said.

Nevertheless, Nazri said that the extra funds would be given out as scholarships to students pursuing courses in the local universities.

“Ultimately, the purpose is also to retain our good students here in our local universities. We want our good students to study locally and this is our long-term goal.

“We want our universities to be first-class. We want to retain the money here, so we finance those in local universities — we want the talent here,” he said.

Nazri noted that one of the reasons behind the brain drain problem in the country was that many students pursued their studies in foreign universities.

“And when they are there and they have the connection, they no longer want to return,” he said.

Majlis perasmian Fiesta Kelantan 2010 yang sepatutnya dirasmikan Pemangku Raja Kelantan dan dihadiri Datuk Seri Najib Razak di pekarangan Stadium Sultan Mohammed Ke-IV di Kota Bharu, malam ini akan dipulaukan kerana penganjur mungkir janji dengan tidak membenarkan Menteri Besar, Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat berucap.

Menurut Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kerajaan Tempatan, Pelancongan dan Kebudayaan Negeri, Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan keputusan memulaukan perasmian itu diambil kerana penganjur bersama - Syarikat Red Carpet juga telah memungkir beberapa perjanjian ketika mesyuarat bersama kerajaan negeri.

Antaranya, mereka telah bersetuju perasmian disempurnakan oleh Pemangku Raja Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra, manakala terdapat dua ucapan akan disampaikan - pertama ucapan aluan dari Nik Aziz selaku tuan rumah dan ucapan dari Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Bagaimanapun, Takiyuddin berkata pada 13 Jun lalu, kerajaan negeri menerima arahan daripada Jabatan Pembangunan Persekutuan (JPP) memaklumkan bahawa pejabat Perdana Menteri "tidak mahu menteri besar berucap".

"Kita tidak tarik diri, tapi mereka yang pinggirkan kita, pinggirkan menteri besar. Ia memalukan MB selaku tuan rumah," katanya ketika dihubungi Malaysiakini lewat petang ini.

Takiyuddin berkata kerajaan negeri dan Syarikat Red Carpet adalah penganjur bersama bagi majlis tersebut yang akan berlangsung selama tiga hari, bermula hari ini.

Menurutnya lagi, dalam publisiti seperti kain rentang telah menguar-uarkan bahawa perdana menteri akan merasmikan majlis tersebut dan bukan Pemangku Raja.

"Jadi telah berlaku percanggahan persefahaman. Pemangku Raja yang sepatutnya merasmikan malam ini, telah digambar seolah-olah bahawa perdana menteri yang akan merasmikan. Kita kesal," katanya

Takiyuddin yang juga pengerusi jawatankuasa induk pesta itu berkata, beliau turut menerima surat daripada pejabat Sultan tengahari tadi yang memaklumkan bahawa Pemangku Sultan tidak akan berangkat pada malam ini atas "alasan-alasan tertentu".

Sehubungan itu, Takiyuddin yang juga ADUN Bunut Payong berkata mesyuarat exco juga memutuskan untuk menarik diri daripada program itu yang berlangsung sehingga 19 Jun ini.

Namun katanya, kerajaan negeri tidak akan menghalang sebarang aktiviti yang dijalankan sepanjang Fiesta Kelantan selama tiga hari itu selagi ia memenuhi syarat yang diluluskan pihak berkuasa tempatan.

"Red Carpet sebagai syarikat swasta kena ikut prosedur dan mematuhi syarat yang ditetapkan. Kena ikut prosedur seperti biasa," katanya.

Ditanya sama ada syarikat tersebut didakwa mempunyai kaitan dengan Umno, Takiyuddin yang juga penolong setiausaha agung PAS berkata "saya tidak pasti".

"Tapi saya nampak ia seolah-olah macam program Umno. Tapi saya tak kisah. Sebagai kerajaan negeri kita bersikap profesional dan bekerjasama dengan dia (Red Carpet)," katanya.

Red Carpet adalah sebuah syarikat swasta yang bertindak sebagai pengurus acara dalam majlis tersebut, tambahnya.

Kelantan State Government Boycott Kelantan Fiesta

KOTA BAHARU, June 16 (Bernama) - The state government will boycott the opening of Kelantan Fiesta 2010 Wednesday night claiming that the organiser had broken its promise to allow Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat to speak.

State Local Government, Tourism and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said organiser Red Carpet World Wide Sdn Bhd had contravened terms of the agreement signed with the state government.

The fiesta was to be launched by the Regent of Kelantan, Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra and attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the compound of Sultan Mohammed IV Stadium.

He said originally, Tengku Faris was to launch the fiesta while Nik Aziz was scheduled to speak, but now the regent would not be launching it while Nik Aziz could not address the audience.

Takiyuddin who is also fiesta committee chairman said the organiser had hurt the feelings of the state government which had been disregarded in many matters.

He said the state government would not stop the three-day fiesta provided it abide by terms approved by local authorities but added activities like '1001 pesilat' and making of the giant drum had been cancelled.

Wanita Pertama in Bahasa Malaysia is referred to First Lady.

Batu MP Tian Chua question in Parliament about the status of First Lady or Wanita Pertama in Malaysia.

For me, I think there is no such First Lady term can be used in Malaysia. This is because Kamus Dewan does not have the term as well. (Strictly speaking)

But to speak it loosly, which I mean more open minded. There should be a First Lady status in Malaysia.

I found out someone was asking this term in March 2010 in Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka's website in the Pusat Rujukan Persuratan Melayu about term of First Lady. See here

Concern about Agong's safety in new palace

The safety of the monarch is in jeopardy, said Taiping DAP MP Nga Kor Ming, as one of the contractors working on the new palace is the same builder behind the Gong Badak Stadium in Kuala Terengganu which collapsed last year.

The roof structure of the RM300 million Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium gave way, just over a year after its completion in 2008, in time to host the 12th Sukma (Sukan Malaysia) organised by Terengganu.

Nga said that the company which is in charge of constructing a flyover from Jalan Duta to the palace at a cost of RM130 million, was the main contractor behind the building of the stadium, said Nga.

The Works Ministry had informed Parliament yesterday that RM811 million is being spent to build the palace to replace Istana Negara which is currently the royal home.

Deputy Minister Yong Khoon Seng said the cost has doubled from the original estimate of RM400 million in 2006 due to its unique features and additional safety measures.

Yong said that the construction of the main complex was awarded to Maya Maju Sdn Bhd at a sum of RM650 million, while a contract for the flyover from Jalan Duta to the palace was given to Ahmad Zaki Bhd.

The contract for the upgrading of an access road from Jalan Changkat Semantan to Jalan Istana costing RM32.5 million was awarded to Kejuruteraan Kenari Sdn Bhd.

Still not restored

“The stadium which cost RM282 million was used for only 10 months, now it has collapsed and it cannot be restored till now,” said Nga.

“I'm here to ask the Works Minister Shaziman Abu Mansor... why is the same contractor behind the collapsed stadium is working on the symbol of national pride and the King's home.

Nga (left) said he fears for the Agong's safety, adding that "one morning His Majesty would be having his breakfast and suddenly the palace (will) collapse... it would be a very unfortunate tragedy for the country”.

He added that the minister has to answer to all the questions relating to this matter, including why the contract was not awarded via an open tender system.

“His deputy (Yong) is not well-versed with this issue. Yesterday when he was pressured by me, he didn't know how to answer,” said Nga.

1. A planet is able to produce its gravity that attract particle into a sphere.
2. A planet must be able to orbit around the sun every time.
3. A planet's orbiting according to it's orbit must clean out the debris such as rock around the orbital region.

Ministry of Defence explode 119 pigs!

Animal rights campaigners expressed outrage last night after the Ministry of Defence admitted blowing up 119 live pigs in explosives tests.

The MoD defended the experiments, saying they had 'saved many lives' in Afghanistan and Iraq.

They have led to improvements in body armour and the medical treatment of soldiers injured by roadside bombs, it said.

But animal welfare activists criticised the 'unethical' practice of causing 'massive mutilation and injury' to the pigs.

The research took place at the Government's secret military research laboratory Porton Down, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, between 2006 and 2009.

Official figures reveal 25 pigs were used in improvised explosive device experiments in 2006, 19 in 2007, 40 in 2008, and 35 in 2009. The animals are anaesthetised before the explosions.

The breed of pigs used in the experiments have skin similar to humans.

Scientists say the tests allow them to see injuries consistent with those inflicted by the Taliban on the battlefield and devise more effective post-traumatic techniques.

The MoD also wraps pigs in materials used to make body armour, such as Kevlar, to determine how effective it is at reducing damage from IEDs.

The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection said: 'Not only are such experiments scientifically questionable... subjecting pigs to such massive mutilation and injury also raises profound ethical questions.'

Caroline Lucas, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, has written to ministers urging them to stop the practice.

An RSPCA spokesman said the MoD was required to carry out the tests under strict controls, but added: 'For many, such a use of animals represents a distressing example of the price animals can end up paying as a result of humans' inhumanity towards other humans.'

An MoD spokesman said: 'The advances made due to this research can be utilised both in theatre and civilian scenarios, particularly if there are mass casualties and evacuation to hospital is delayed.'

Government figures show more than 50,000 animals, including sheep, monkeys and cattle, have been subject to experiments at Porton Down in the past four years, including ones using chemical and biological weapons such as Anthrax and nerve gas.

Cinema in Kota Bharu

Kota Bharu still do not have any cinema.
You may laugh at this point.

But for me, I think there is no point to built a cinema in Kota Bharu. This may bring objection to my friends.

Last time there were 2 cinema in Kota Bharu, the first one is LIDO and the second one is Panggung Odeon. I went to Lido before to watch Jackie Chan movie with my family. It really bring nostalgic to me when the Cinema was closed.

For me, if really Kota Bharu has a cinema, two things need to be implemented:
1. Dim lights is needed during movie playing,
2. separation of male and female is needed. And if can, try to create a place that is for family with children less than 12 years old.

This is due to prevent any misconduct inside the cinema.

My shirts being kidnapped!

Oh no!
Once I came back from Mydin Hypermarket Kubang Kerian, my mum told me that the room's door is locked. Well, I am very sure this surely is my sister's work. When she opened the door, she did nto realise that the door locked is still in locked position.

This will be a very big trouble for me as my closet is inside the room. Well, my angriness did not blow out easily because I need to change my clothes after bathing. My mum fetch my sister to tuition because I can't fetch- did not bath yet.

I know if the door lock is locked then it is useless for me to try out to open or unlock the door. What i need to do is just waiting for the rescue- need to wait my mum to came back and open the locked door.

She came back and my shirt is being rescued.
Previously I just use my towel to cover myself =)

Indonesian maid for RM800?

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia expects Indonesia to lift the freeze on maids soon.

However, the decision on minimum wage was still pending, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Major progress had been made in negotiations between the countries, said Najib after he and visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono witnessed the signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) on the maid issue after their retreat here Tuesday.

The provisions in the LOI include maids being given one off-day weekly and keeping their right to hold their passports.

"I assume that it will be lifted soon with respect to the fact that the issues have been settled.

“We have different systems in Indonesia and here and it complicates matters with respect to wages paid to our workers - it requires more discussions.

“I do not think that it will be a major problem (to lift),” he told reporters after the retreat.

The Indonesian president arrived here Tuesday for the seventh annual consultation between Malaysia and Indonesia to discuss bilateral issues to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Susilo, his wife, Ani Yudhoyono, and his delegation were received at the KL International Airport (KLIA) by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

He is also scheudled to speak at the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF)at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

He leaves for Jakarta Wednesday afternoon.

For me I think RM800 wages for one Indonesian maid is something that really need to reconsider. It is too high for the employer. Government also need to take care the liabilities of local workers that even their salary also didn't reach RM800 per month. Local worker need to buy food and accomodation but Indon maids already can stay inside employer's house with foods everyday(Just she need to cook it).

Today is a day that will let the people of Sibu, Sarawak to cast their vote to select which representative is better for them.

Voters are advised to vote early today as the Meteorological Department forecast isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The Election Commission (EC) is expecting about 80 percent turnout for the by-election.
Voters in the Sibu parliamentary by-election started to cast their votes as soon as polling centres opened at 8am today.

A total of 52,158 voters are due to cast their votes to elect their new member of parliament at 45 polling stations with 110 streams at 39 schools, two kindergartens, a training centre, a longhouse, a public library and a public recreational centre.

Another 2,537 postal voters comprising 1,910 military and 627 police personnel had cast their ballots on Thursday and Friday.

About 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in this mostly urban constitutency to ensure a smooth poll.

Ten polling centres will close at 1pm, five at 2pm, six at 3pm, two at 4pm and 22 at 5pm. The ballot boxes will be taken to the tallying centre at the Sibu Civic Centre.

The result of the three-cornered fight is expected to be announced by the EC at the latest by 9pm.

SPR(EC) has revised the voters turnout from 59.9% increased to 70%.

EC promise that they will announce the poll result before 9.00pm or at 9.00pm. But they announced it two hours later. The two-hour delay in the announcement of the result was due to a dispute in the postal ballots where 208 votes were rejected. This however did not change the final result. According to the EC, the dispute was over the validity of witnesses' signature for postal votes.

1Malaysia! The slogan always can be heard everyday and our Prime Minister always shout "1Malaysia" wherever and whenever he are.

Malaysian accept this 1Malaysia concept. I think this concept should be enlarged to taxi drivers and taxi associations nationwide!

Malaysian taxi is said to be among the worst in the world. Let me clarify, not ALL taxi drivers are like that, just maybe one in ten of taxi drivers are the culprit of simply charging passengers.

Kelantanese Taxi drivers like to jump queue at traffic lights. This always happened to everyone include my. And their behaviour of driving is so brave and didn't scare any incoming car at all.
However, if we know how to let people first then you are a good guy. If you still want to bypass the taxi driver, NO WAY at all! I hope they can change their driving behavior. Please stop to jump queue (except emergency case). [Haha, i guess every passenger are emergency case for them]. Budi Bahasa Budaya Kita.

Taxi 1Malaysia should be launched throughout Malaysia to service local people with using meter. Meter is used so that passenger didnt pay more than the actual rate.

During the second round of Hafiz Hashim, when Denmark Joachim Persson score the same mark 4-4. I started to nervous as Denmark could beat up Hafiz. But Due to seriously carelessness by Persson, the score difference is way far behind with Hafiz leading first. 3-2 make Malaysia qualify for semi-final.

Well, Malaysia will face a big problem now. The Badminton professional giant, China. We(Malaysian include me myself) hope miracle will happen like this time, with an aggregate of 3-2 Malaysia will beat China again. Hooray!

SuperBid Wednesday Gone Crazy is a really fantastic place to buy the item that we want with an "affordable" and i guess is cheaper than market price.

Nikon DSLR is a very good shooting camera with many features and shots. I wish I can get this D3000 also. But I think I better wait until I work later. Then I will use my own money to buy my "darling" haha.

KTM Pink only for Ladies

Back to the title, congratulations to KTMB (Kereta api Tanah Melayu Berhad) for introducing ladies only coaches in their commuter(KTM komuter) service.
This is really a good initiative by KTM. This initiative already had begun long time ago in Japan and modern countries. Click here to view more.

Personally, I have not see any serious groping in KTM before because I am not a frequent user of KTM(I did not use KTM everyday). But If I hang out. KTM Komuter is definitely a must for me to go to Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral and Midvalley. In fact I am also a frequent passenger of KTMB, that is intercity train from Wakaf Bahru to Serdang and vice versa. During peak time, KTM is really pack and train delay worsen the situation, making every station is full of people how i can bet many of us cannot board the coaches during peak and delayed period. Women and female teenagers will definitely become a victim of sardine packed coaches.

However I saw before a "little sexual excitation" by foreign workers to girls. He stand near to the back of the girl. And I guess is he smelling the nice perfume smell of the girl or rubbing the girl? That one I am not sure. One day when I went back to home town because university holiday started I saw one foreign guy sat beside one lady. The foreign guy intentionally leaned back to the window. And for that lady, for sure she will move to the front a little bit.

KTM should locate enforcers at their stations to make sure only "ladies all the times" board the middle coach of every train. The middle coaches is only for ladies and children 12 years old and below.

Eventually, pink coaches will not cure much more problems of the time delay service. KTM should increase their accuracy of the arrival of trains on every stations. I am wondering why train from Seremban will eventually stop before Midvalley station and/or before KL Sentral for half a minute. Is this mean they arrived earlier than predicted? And they need to wait green light from the control center?

Supposedly this program is long term and should not be "forgotten" easily. The enforcer should patrol the in and out of the middle coaches at all times. This is to ensure no adult males go into the train except special cases. KTM should add the automatic gate at every door entrance of the commuter. The gate is similar to monorail KL at Bukit Bintang/Imbi Station.

I wish that women will be more secured in this ladies all the times coach. =)
p.s. KTM should add the comfortability of passengers in every also.
