The WebToolsSEO.com network announces the launch of Bidding Web Directory

Also being released with this bid directory site, will be the eco-blue, eco-green and eco-red templates for the phplinkbid script, that may be downloaded and reused for free, as long as the links on the footer stay intact. The templates are link stat ready, and a license for it must be purchased from phplinkbid, in order to use it.

BiddingWebDirectory.us will be the eleventh bid directory within the network. The network hones in on different markets by targeting different keywords with each of their directories. All are highly promoted.

In the spirit of my favorite movie franchise, I designed a bid directory and named it Jedi Links. The domain name popped into my mind. I checked to see if it was available, and quickly reserved it.

In my mind, it sounded like a theme that would be fun to do and offers a fresh look in the bid directory industry, and the big WWW.

This was not part of the WebToolsSEO.com scheduled launch for Aug 2008, but was just something on the side. Stay tuned later this month.

WebToolsSEO.com announces the launch of MarketingSource Bid Directory.

In an effort to try to reach it's goal, WebToolsSEO.com will be releasing one more site over the summer of 2008. The next one to be announced in Aug.

WebToolsSEO.com also recently sold one directory, in efforts to raise capital for future promotions of its sites. The directory that was sold was known as Best Buy Directory, and the owner of the domain has renamed the website.

Many webmasters do not fully understand the benefits that bid directories provide, and they simply do not understand the answer to that ominous question; "Why should I pay for my link, when there are so many free directories available?" I will explain the benefits.

1. Less links! A bid directory will typically have less links than a free directory per page. A free directory will sometimes have a hundred links per page, while a bid directory will usually have between five or ten.

2. SEO Friendly URLs! It is true that most free directories claim to be seo friendly, but how friendly can they really be with link mania on their category pages. See benefit number one. Bid directories are search engine friendly, and most links have their very own page created within the database. Google and other search engines pick up these pages.

3. Human edited and spam free! Not all bid directory owners put this into practice, but most do! With less links in the directory...spam and garbage are cleaned out with little effort.

4. Deep Links! Bid directories usually provide an option to include up to 5 deep links. Most other directories do not!

5. Bid directory owners usually use the money coming in to promote the directory itself! It just makes sense to promote the directory, because a higher pagerank will mean you can get more money per link. It's a win; win situation! This is a good reason to get in early while the links are cheap.

6. Position! With tracking software allowing you to view where your website traffic is coming from, it is nice to be able to increase your bid on say a directory that is bringing you some traffic. In other words... you have more control as to where your listing will be placed. If you want more exposure you decide when and if it happens.

7. Have you ever noticed "Link Stats" on some bid directories? This is a benefit you will not usually see anywhere else. This gives your customers a chance to see that you have been working hard to achieve your status. Once you have placed your link you can also use the link details area to submit your link to other well known sites such as Digg, Stumble Upon, Del.icio.us, and many more.

8. Permanent links! Free directories do have featured links, but most last three months to a year and then you get lost in the piles of links. With a bid directory you decide how featured it is,and it will still be permanent either way, forever!

The internet network also recently incorporated a non-permanent ad system for it's main pages. How Many Directories is Too Many?

How many directories is too many? Well, that is a question that many have tried to answer, and most internet users think there is too many all-ready. I do not see it that way and here's why:

The internet literally has thousands of directories, most of them do not even see the light of day. The upside to having alot of directories is that they can be targeted to different audiences. By keyword targeting the directories they can span the world wide web and each take a share of it's own niche. General multi-catagory directories can also target for traffic by optimizing for certian keywords.

This, in my opinion, should be the goal of every directory webmaster..."Not only to provide just another link, but to drive traffic to the directory, and in turn, to create the prospect of driving traffic to the link owners page."

For example...Say you have one directory that is targeted to people trying to promote their website, you might use a keyword like "website promotion", with correct link building and search engine optimization, you should be able to drive real traffic to the directory. Then you have directory number two that is keyword targeted for "web directory". These are just example's of coarse. No one will compete with DMOZ, so directory targeting is the way to go, and it is the right thing to do for your directory business, and customers. Each will grab traffic from their own market.

At first glance, it would seem there are too many directories, but I think I have given a pretty good explanation of why there is not too many directories!

How to get real traffic to your bid directory!

Traffic is the number one thing that a bid directory needs, as does any website. The question is how does one acheive this. Foremost, instead of paying some company to send you a bunch of people to view your site, who probably will not buy a link...you need to make your bid directory friendly for the search engine's to use and find your site.
Number one, find a keyword. You only need one. You can use a keyword tool. Keyword Tool
This tool will only give you a suggestion. You can also download a program called "Web CEO" that has a lot easy to use optimizing tools. You can see how my searches that particuliar keyword gets per day and how much comptition your up against for the keyword.
Okay, now that you have chosen a keyword, I strongly suggest that you include the keyword in your domain name.
example;
Keyword: Bid Directory Domain: www.biddirectory1.com
As long as you include your keyword in the name, towards the beginning if possible you will be off to a good start.
Number two, your title and header (must match your keyword). At this point you will also want to make sure your meta-tags (meta-description) match your keyword.
example;
Title: "Bid Directory - Welcome" note that it helps when you place your keyword towards the beginning of the title tag.
You should write something inside the meta-description tag such as: "Bid Directory provides invaluable service, by providing text links for webmasters." -Not too long and not too short.

I have been Search Engine Optimizing sites for years now. I usually go through the motions of manually submitting my URL's to free directories. Some of the sites with higher PageRanks usually want a fee to submit your site to them. But many times you can find a bid directory with a high PageRank that would cost you less than a so-called free directory. I went through and found the best bang for my dollar. 99% of bid directory links are permenant and do not expire, plus they are usually SEO friendly. Here is my list of bid directories that made the top of my list:

You can actually look on these directories to find other bid directories. I just added these to get you started.

I listed my site on about thirty or so Bid Directories, however I examined around a hundred. Out of the hundred or so, I found a few up and comers, that appear to be building backlinks on high PR sites, but haven't had a solid PageRank yet. But they will, it is just a matter of time and you might find value in them if you list yoru site early, before they gain pagerank.
