I wanted to thank all of you readers for an awesome debut season here on the site for Big Brother Canada. The whole thing was an experiment from top to bottom. We didn’t know what to expect, or how we’d watch the show from down here, or if anyone would even show up on the site to discuss it with us. Everything turned out amazingly well and we are so grateful for your readership.

When you get used to a style and approach of Big Brother US after fourteen seasons it’s hard to fully give in to something different, but wow were we pleasantly surprised. The cast was fantastic with all new faces (a great reason for CBS to do the same this year), the house was turned out great, and even host Arisa Cox grew on us by the end of the year. All in all, scandals included, it was a complete success in our book.

In case you missed all the Big Brother Canada drama last night here’s the quick run down. During the Jury vote as host Arisa Cox revealed the votes one by one many of us were surprised to hear Topaz had voted for Jillian. Topaz was pretty surprised too.

After Arisa announced Topaz’s vote her hand shot up from the Jury box and she exclaimed “Wait. What? No No No!” Topaz rushed the stage and confronted Arisa while claiming someone had switched her vote. Topaz begged for a chance to switch her vote and refused to return to her seat. Arisa said there was nothing they could do.

Finally Big Brother pulled up the tape, as all things are recorded there, and was able to prove that yes, Topaz voted “for” Jillian. To make matters all that more painful for both Topaz and Gary, Jillian went on to win by just one vote. Topaz’s error lost Gary the game.

Topaz casts the wrong vote on Big Brother Canada:

So how did this happen? I’m assuming after a season of voting “against” HGs Topaz kept that same mindset when placing her final vote. It’s also possible that she was simply distracted and grabbed the wrong key from the set.

What’s my take on all this? There was no way production could let her change her vote. It’s a slippery slope. Knowing how others voted could impact votes in a redo. Topaz screwed up. No one is to blame but her. It stinks for Gary, but it’s not his fault either.

Quite honestly, I didn’t like the twist of bringing a “contaminated” Jury member back in to the game. Had they all been sequestered separately, then okay, but once you let them mingle, share thoughts, compare notes, etc. then the whole thing has changed. Note that all Jury members from before the twist voted for Gary, save Topaz, while all the post-twist members voted for Jillian. So all in all, I wasn’t sorry that Jillian won on a technicality. There was plenty of drama, planned and unplanned, last night on Big Brother Canada. The 2-hour season finale was filled with surprising competition results and the most shocking vote screw up I’ve ever seen.

The final three, Gary, Jillian, and Emmett faced off in a three-part Head of Household competition before evicting one last HG to join the jury. Watch it all play out plus see the return of every HG from Big Brother Canada season 1.

This is likely to go down as the biggest flub in Big Brother history.

Big Brother Canada Episode 29 Season Finale:

Well that was nuts! What do you make of all of that?

It all comes down to this. Tonight we will find out who won Big Brother Canada as the Jury comes together and makes its decision.

Before we get to the falling confetti and balloons we’ve still got a little matter of one final eviction as part of the ultimate Head of Household competition this inaugural season has seen.

We’re getting a live Q&A from host Arisa to the final 3. She asked what was their favorite moment and Emmett said “when I beat Jillian in the endurance competition.” Did he just reveal the results to round 1 of the final HoH comp?

Big Brother Canada – Final Head of Household Comp – Part 1:
The comp is called “No Blood On My Hands.” HGs have to balance with a bucket of fake blood over their head. Last player standing (and balanced) wins the battle. Jillian says this is a “boys contest” because it’s very heavy. Yep, that’s tough against someone like Emmett.

Jillian was clearly resting the pole base against her belt buckle. I’d call that cheating. Doesn’t matter though because she can’t hold on and drops the bucket. “Blood” goes everywhere! After more than 4 hours Gary wiggles and drops his bucket. Emmett takes Round 1.

Big Brother Canada – Final Head of Household Comp – Part 2:
Round 2 is set up like a circus and is called “Big Brother Big Top.” Jillian and Gary must race to drop rings in the right order of the season’s HoH’s while navigating an obstacle course. This looks exhausting.

Jillian goes first and feels “horrible” about her time. Gary is out and ready to go. Gary falls in to the ball pit along the way and gets a 30-sec penalty. Emmett reveals the times and we find out that Gary has won Round 2.

Gee, maybe Emmett should have kept Talla, huh?

Big Brother Canada – Final Head of Household Comp – Part 3:

The last round pits Emmett and Gary against each other. The winner decides who to evict and who goes with them to the final two. The challenge is to answer questions about the evicted HGs, just like we’re used to seeing in BBUS.

• Round 1: False – both get it right
• Round 2: True – both wrong
• Round 3: True – both get it right
• Round 4: True – both wrong
• Round 5: True – both get it right
• Round 6: True – Gary gets it right and wins

Gary wins by 1 point and is the final HoH. Gary will decide who to evict tonight.

Hah! I guess Emmett should have kept Talla.

• Part 2 goes to Gary
• Part 3 goes to Gary

• Gary votes to evict Emmett

Hilarious. Emmett really, really should have kept Talla.

Gary will head to the Final Two with Jillian as Emmett walks out the door.

Big Brother Canada – Final Two HGs:

The Jury takes the stage and Arisa lets them guess who their finally member will be. Most think it’ll be Gary but hope for it to be Jillian. Yikes, that sounds like Gary is about to take this vote by storm if that many Jury voters don’t want Jillian in the final two, much less than winning it all. Gary by a landslide, anyone?

Gotta say, during the Jury Q&A we see Peter call Jillian an “idiot!” This guy is a childish jerk. What a petty child of a man. She beat you, repeatedly. Get over it, Peter.

Reportedly there was some drama over “mistake votes” during the jury votes. Remember, this was pre-taped and not live like we were told it would be.

We’re down to the voting. AJ says someone has made a $100K mistake. “Integers,” he says. Alec says he’s sorry “The Sheyld” lost but is “happy he’ll win.” Topaz says her vote is “150% secure.” Peter says he is voting to “prevent injustice.” Andrew says he is “voting with my heart.” Talla says she’s “voting for the person who played the opposite of my game.” Emmett has the last vote and says, “you should only ever have one life in the Big Brother game.” And with that, the voting is done.

Okay, I’m trying to interpret those comments. I’m thinking this will be 4-3 and not a landslide like those initial Jury comments made me think. Jillian didn’t make any decisions tonight, so could AJ mean Gary picking to evict Emmett? If so, that’s a vote for Jillian. Alec, Peter, & Topaz are clearly going for Gary. Andrew will go w/ Jillian as will Emmett. The opposite of Talla’s game would be Jillian, right? (loud and boisterous?) If I’ve read those right then Jillian may win 4-3.

We’re still waiting to see what these mistaken votes are all about. After a season of voting to evict (voting against) did someone in the Jury screw up and vote “against” instead of “for” a winner?

Big Brother Canada – Jury Votes:

• Emmett votes for Jillian
• AJ votes Gary – oops, then my guess is probably wrong
• Talla votes for Jillian
• Alec votes for Gary
• Topaz votes for Jillian – wait, whaa??

This is HUGE! Topaz jumps up and comes across the stage in protest. Yep, Topaz voted “against” instead of “for.” Arisa keeps saying she can’t do anything but Topaz won’t go back to her seat. Arisa cuts to commercial. Hmm…

Okay, back to the show. Arisa shows film footage of Topaz voting for Jillian. They are not going to let Topaz change her vote and must continue on with the vote.

• Peter votes for Gary
• Andrew votes for Jillian

Jillian wins Big Brother Canada! Wow, what drama! Arisa says Andrew was the deciding vote, but Topaz’s silly mistake was the real deciding factor her tonight. That’s incredible!

Tonight on Big Brother Canada the season finale will air and bring with it the first ever BBCAN winner. This special episode airs early this Thursday, May 2nd at 9PM ET and runs a full two hours so don’t be late.

Before the winner of Big Brother Canada can be announced we’ll have to get through the final Head of Household competition(s). We’re expecting a multi-part comp based on what we’re used to seeing from Big Brother US, but since BBCAN is free to be its own version who knows what will happen.

Since the Feeds have been blacked out we don’t know the state of the game inside the house, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate.

Right now the Power Couple Jimmett is very well positioned to take the Final Two seats in the game. Gary is outnumbered two to one and his performance abilities have been somewhat lacking, at least when compared to the records of Emmett and Jillian. With that in mind I’m expecting Gary to be the last evicted HG this season.

As for who will win it all, this could be close. It’s hard to argue with Jillian’s record of 4 HoH’s and never having been on the block. Then you’ve got Emmett who won 2 HoH’s plus 1 disqualified HoH, multiple Vetos, and even survived a first week nomination to make it all the way to the end, well if he’s not evicted tonight.

Tonight’s win will come down to the Jury though, of course, and how they see each player not just for their record but also for who they were in the game. On that side of things it’s likely Emmett will find greater support as Jillian has had to do a lot of “dirty work” to safely navigate this season of BBCAN.

The second to last episode of Big Brother Canada’s first season aired last night and brought us down from 4 HGs to just 3. One of those three HGs will win the crown and become the first official Big Brother Canada winner.

Big Brother Canada Episode 28 – Video:

Did Emmett make the right choices with both his Veto and eviction vote. Hard to argue over his PoV call, but what about his vote to evict? Should he have formed a different final three to better his chances of winning it all?

Tonight we close in on the season finale to find out who won Big Brother Canada. This episode will feature a special eviction along with the usual Veto fare and since the Feeds have been down for days we’ll finally get some surprise eviction results.

Haha. Host Arisa says there’s no audience tonight because the show is top secret. I guess that whole “stop leaking to Dingo” thing escalated quickly. Arisa reveals to a surprised final four that a quick eviction is coming up. They scramble as we wait to see what happens.

Emmett lets Talla know he won’t be voting to keep her. She takes it pretty well, but there are a lot of tears and the other HGs are scrambling to suck up and secure her Jury vote.

Who Was Voted Off Big Brother Canada Tonight:

• Emmett votes to evict Talla

Before her eviction Talla tells Emmett she won’t forgive him for what he’s about to do, but she’ll have to respect his decision. Does that mean he has lost her Jury vote should it come to that?

Hmm. It seems we won’t get the first part of the final HoH competition like we’re used to from Big Brother US. So no endurance comp for the first part? Wasn’t that what Jillian was afraid of from Talla? Maybe they’ll do it later.

In her exit interview with Arisa Talla says she thinks Jillian will win it all. I’m guessing Jillian has a vote in her corner with Talla in the Jury House.

Big Brother Canada Final HoH – Part 1:

• Doesn’t look like it’ll happen tonight…

The Thursday night season finale will last two full hours and will begin earlier than normal at 9PM ET on Slice. So if you show up at the regular time, well, you’ll miss half the show!

Tomorrow night we’ll get the season finale of BBCAN with the last parts of the finale Head of Household competition plus the Jury votes. Which HG do you think will walk away with the crown and all the prize money?

Just two shows left of the inaugural season of Big Brother Canada. Tonight we’ll watch as the next to last Jury member is evicted in a sole vote eviction and the final three HGs move on to compete for the $100,000 prize.

Sunday’s episode ended with the nominations being revealed, but a lot more has gone on in the house and we’re about to find out a lot of surprises. We’ll watch the Veto competition, Veto ceremony, the next eviction, and, most likely, the first part of the final HoH competition.

We’ve made our predictions for who will be evicted tonight but if any spoilers arrive before then we’ll be sure to share them.

Tomorrow night on Big Brother Canada another HG will be evicted to form this season’s Final 3. It’s quite possible the next eviction has already taken place since the Feeds have been down since Sunday. I haven’t seen any leaks other than a funny but obviously fake one about Aneal going back in to the house with a Diamond Power of Veto (It’s not true. I promise.)

So who will be the next HG evicted? Read on for the spoilerish discussion and see who we expect to be sent packing just days short of the finale.

The last Veto was won by Emmett so the nominations of Gary and Talla will remain the same. One of those two will go.

Jillian is worried about Talla’s abilities in an endurance competition which will likely be part of the final three-part HoH competition, if Big Brother Canada follows the pattern of Big Brother US on this one. Tack that on to Jimmett’s belief that no one will vote for Gary since he lucked his way in to a top spot in the game and it’s looking like curtains for Talla’s chances at the big prize.

The benefits to keeping Talla over Gary are that she hasn’t won anything all season. Well, except for our hearts, of course! I’m kidding (unless you are a die-hard Talla fan, then I’m not kidding). I’d rather go up against Talla in the final HoH competition than Gary who has actually done fairly well in comps, but that’s me.

The vote will be up to Emmett so he’ll ultimately decided though we can expect it to be agreed to by Jillian in advance.

Come Wednesday night when we get back inside the Big Brother Canada house I’m expecting to watch as Talla is sent packing and Gary moves on with Jillian and Emmett to the final three.

The Big Brother Canada Feeds are now down and gone for the remainder of the season. Having shut off midday Sunday we won’t be able to watch the Veto Ceremony results today per our usual routine, of course I think we can easily guess how that’ll turn out based on who won the PoV.

Instead we’ll be left waiting until Wednesday night at 9PM on Slice when the show returns and reveals not only what happens with the Power of Veto, but also which HG is evicted next and who remains to form the season’s final three.

While the Feeds are now gone we can reflect back on a full, but seemingly quick season of Big Brother Canada. What a blast! The Feeds were high quality and FOTH-music free. I’d still trade both of those things for a Flashback feature like we’ve enjoyed on the US version’s Big Brother Live Feeds. Maybe next season.
