Dee’s first Head of Household reign settles into focus in the latest episode of Big Brother 28 as the fallout from nominations gives way to the season’s first Power of Veto competition. While one nominee takes a strategic approach and another struggles to keep emotions in check, a shocking act of emotional manipulation steals the spotlight before the week ends with a new houseguest taking a seat on the block.

Oh, and we also get a visit from some true Big Brother legends.

The episode begins after Dee nominates Mallory, Taylor, and Yash for eviction. Yash is especially upset because Dee had promised his group they would be safe this week. Even though he is disappointed, he handles the nomination much better than Mallory does. Mallory has a complete meltdown and, in the middle of it, starts naming people she believes should have been nominated instead while standing in front of a large group of houseguests. That kind of reaction is never a great look.

Taylor, on the other hand, has by far the best response to being nominated. Instead of getting emotional, she immediately starts thinking strategically and even sits down with Dee to discuss the possibility of working together moving forward. It may not make for the most dramatic television, but it is definitely one of the smartest ways to respond after ending up on the block.

Once Mallory calms down, she finally has a conversation with Dee about why she was nominated. Dee explains that the two of them simply have not spent much time talking, which is clearly an invitation for Mallory to start building that relationship. Unfortunately, Mallory does not really give Dee much to work with during the conversation. Dee also tells Mallory that Yash is the target among the three nominees. In the Diary Room, Dee confirms that she is telling the truth, but she also reveals that Mallory is her backup target if something changes.

Next, it is time to draw players for the Power of Veto competition. Joining Dee, Mallory, Taylor and Yash will be Barrett and Melody, rounding out the six competitors.

The veto competition features returning Big Brother legends Howie and Dr. Will. There is a lengthy backstory explaining the theme, but the important part is the competition itself. Houseguests must help send Dr. Will back to 2026 by completing what is essentially a complicated tube puzzle. The first person to correctly solve the puzzle wins the Power of Veto.

In the end, Mallory wins the Power of Veto. Considering she is literally a rocket scientist or something like that, it is hard to be surprised. This challenge seemed perfectly designed for someone with her type of analytical mind. With Mallory saving herself, Dee now has to start thinking seriously about a replacement nominee.

Ashley immediately becomes nervous because she and Barrett did not compete in the Head of Household competition, making her feel like an easy replacement option.

Meanwhile, Jason shares what initially appears to be a heartfelt moment with Angela. He opens up about recently losing his mother and tells Angela that he knew if there was a mom in the house, he wanted to work with her. This comes after the two had already bonded during the premiere over Angela talking about her gay son.

However, the emotional moment quickly takes a shocking turn. As soon as Angela walks away, Jason looks directly at the camera before admitting in the Diary Room that he was simply feeding her a story to play on her emotions. It is a surprisingly cold moment that really highlights his villainous side, and it is honestly one of the most ruthless moves we have seen from him so far.

Jason then tells Drew and Melody that he faked the emotional conversation with Angela. He also reveals that he wants Devens out of the game. The problem is that he is telling this to Drew, who is closely aligned with both Angela and Devens. Drew wastes no time taking the information directly to Dee and letting her know that Jason is targeting Devens. Dee even says that if Jason had not won safety for the week, she would have seriously considered nominating him.

Drew does not stop there. He also tells both Devens and Angela everything Jason said, including the fact that Jason admitted he had manipulated Angela with the story about his mother. Angela is devastated. She heads to the Diary Room in tears but makes it clear that this version of Angela is different from the player fans saw on Big Brother 26. Instead of blowing up or confronting Jason immediately, she says she plans to kill him with kindness and make him believe she still trusts him, all while plotting her own revenge.

As the replacement nominee decision gets closer, Ashley checks in with Dee to see where she stands. Dee is honest and tells her that she is absolutely being considered as a replacement nominee. Ashley tries to redirect the target toward Barrett, but Dee quickly shuts that idea down because Barrett is a member of the Crossover alliance.

Melody also has a conversation with Dee, but she may have accidentally hurt her own position. During the conversation, she repeatedly tries to convince Dee that she is not nearly as close to Mallory as people believe. Instead of reassuring Dee, it almost sounds like Melody is overexplaining herself, which could make her look even more suspicious. At this point, it seems like Dee is choosing between Ashley and Melody as the replacement nominee.

That brings us to the veto ceremony. As expected, Mallory uses the Power of Veto on herself, removing herself from the block. Dee then reveals her replacement nominee, and she decides to nominate Ashley.

That means Ashley, Taylor, and Yash will compete in the first Block Buster competition of the season on Thursday night. The winner will save themselves from the block, leaving the house with its final two nominees heading into eviction night. It will be interesting to see who survives, who ends up staying on the block, and whether the house follows Dee’s original plan or if the target shifts before the live vote.

Well, things have certainly gotten interesting in the Big Brother 28 house. Ashley could have been completely safe going into tomorrow’s first eviction. However, her sharing a little too much information has put her right back in danger. Dee, The Crossovers, and Red Corner had all decided to keep her. Taylor or Yash was going home this week.

Drew was even working to get Melody or Mallory to vote with them and keep Ashley, ensuring that there wasn’t a split vote. Unfortunately, Ashley has been campaigning by throwing Dee and friends under the bus about their major alliance. This confirmed the house split and has activated others to not jump ship to that side.

2:00 PM BBT – Melody asks Drew if his loyaty lies with her or Kamu’s side. He says with her. She spills to him and Barrett that Ashley told her that Kamu, Dee, Chuk, and others told her they joined forces to keep Ashley in the game. She tells them that now she wants Ashley out.
Another active feeds day as Ashley turns an easy win into a complicated decision. Drew was on board to keep her, but now doesn’t know if she’s worth saving. Tonight should be even more interesting as the Wednesday waffling continues.

Tomorrow is our first eviction of the Big Brother 28 season. The initial votes are often pretty standard, but the BB Block Buster has made things a lot less predictable in the last few seasons. This season’s trajectory may be similar. We could already have a split vote.

It’s only week one and our first Wednesday with live feeds, but these houseguests are playing hard. Week 1 feels like Week 8. They’re not just thinking about this week, but steps ahead. It could be a critical vote and set the tone for Big Brother 28.

Scenario One: Ashley wins BB Block Buster – Taylor & Yash Final Noms

This seems to be the scenario that’s ideal for many of the houseguests, except Yash and Taylor. They want to both remain in the game and work together. However, Dee and her allies now want to pull Ashley to their side. This would allow them to make a bold statement and show sides this early. This is also the scenario that seems the most straightforward in terms of votes.

Votes to Evict Yash: Melody, Lyric, Mallory, Rome, LaTrice, Barrett, Jason, Drew, Chuk, Haley, Kamu, Angela, Ashley, Devens.

Votes to Evict Taylor: No one currently, but it could shift overnight.

It may not be a unanimous vote, but fairly close to one in this scenario. The houseguests think that Yash has more of a competition-winning potential, so they want to remove him first. However, Angela, Devens, Dee, and others want to weaken LaTrice and Jason. Therefore, there is a chance they decide to vote out Taylor, but we don’t think there are enough votes currently for her eviction. Dee and crew would have to start planting those seeds, and they could do that tonight. Additionally, Melody has spoken about wanting to take out Taylor to pull Jason and LaTrice’s loyalty to her side. We have to see if the house commits to voting out Taylor over Yash tonight.

Scenario Two: Yash wins BB Block Buster – Taylor & Ashley Final Noms

This situation seems set as well. Dee and her allies decided to evict Taylor or Yash over Ashley. I expect the votes to potentially split, but Drew has already talked about pulling Melody to his side as a number. She also seems to want Taylor out to gain new allies in Jason and LaTrice. She has also shown signs of not being fully committed to her trio with Lyric and Mallory. She could vote the opposite of them this week.

Votes to Evict Taylor: Drew, Barrett, Devens, Angela, Haley, Chuk, Kamu, Melody

Votes to Evict Ashley: Mallory, Yash, Lyric, Rome, LaTrice, Jason

Dee and her crew don’t seem to want the vote to end in a unanimous or mainly unanimous way in this scenario. Therefore, they have no plans to inform everyone of their decision to vote out Taylor over Ashley. They want the sides divided. Melody will be the key to whether it’s a split vote or 8 to 6 one. Melody could vote out Taylor because she does see the potential of pulling Jason and LaTrice to her side, but unless Melody lies about her vote, this move could make the six left out of the vote immediately distrust her.

She would have to basically commit to the ones she voted with at that point. If the vote ties, Dee has said she would vote to keep Taylor. Probably because it would expose too much if she boldly picked a side. Ashley isn’t locked in with anyone, so easier to vote her out without much repercussions. That’s also why Dee wants to keep her as someone to work with as a number.

Scenario Three: Taylor wins BB Block Buster – Yash & Ashley Final Noms

Yash really needs to win the BB Block Buster. He is the player most in danger of leaving this week. Everyone sees him as a threat and someone who could work against them, but he has a slightly better chance of staying next to Ashley.

Votes to Evict Yash: Drew, Barrett, Angela, Devens, Melody, Lyric, Mallory, LaTrice, Jason, Rome, Chuk, Kamu, Haley

Votes to Evict Ashley: Taylor

Yash is a little harder to predict in terms of votes because the general consensus is that he must go if he ends up remaining on the block. However, who exactly votes to keep him is a little unclear. It could be unanimous, or a few may think Ashley goes over everyone and try to vote her out.

It’s shaping up to be an interesting first week, especially with the first vote possibly ending in a tie. These scenarios represent the way the house is leaning currently, but as always, things change quickly in Big Brother. Who do you want to see win the BB Block Buster this week? Who do you want to see evicted for Week 1 of Big Brother 28?

Wednesday should provide plenty of game talks and shifting decisions. And as we now know, the BB Block Buster plays a huge role in who stays or goes on Big Brother. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean players cannot plan around it. They must make various decisions based on different scenarios.

We also know that occasionally houseguests can change their minds once the BB Block Buster happens and speeches are given, but this is rare. We have seen all the nominees campaign for their Big Brother lives. Many of them started as soon as the nomination ceremony ended. Yash has been campaigning especially hard.

As the newest nominee, Ashley is still working out how exactly she should handle her campaign, but she continues to try. Ashley had a game talk with Barrett, Angela, Dee, and Drew that didn’t necessarily showcase her strategic potential, but it did make Dee realize that Ashley is on her own.

The house is already divided into several sets of trios (which Taylor also noted last night). They are Chuk, Kamu, and Haley; LaTrice, Jason, and Taylor; Mallory, Lyric, and Melody; Devens, Dee, and Angela.

People assumed that Ashley was with the Mallory, Lyric, and Melody trio, but Dee realizes that that group has already discarded Ashley. She can pick her up as a potential number for both of her alliances. She talked to Kamu last night about keeping Ashley over Yash and Taylor.

He wanted to keep both of them over Ashley, because he never saw the possibility of her being loyal to his group with Chuk, Haley, Dee, and Devens. After the talk, Kamu was very on board with keeping Ashley.

He even told his allies about the new plan to keep Ashley and vote out Taylor or Yash. Rome is a big factor in this decision. He and others want to weaken Rome by taking away some of his allies. He’s close with LaTrice and Jason, so he can potentially become part of an alliance with LaTrice, Jason, and Taylor. He also has Lyric as his showmance.

Yash and Rome aren’t that close, but people think they are in the game. This means removing Yash or Taylor hurts Rome’s game. It also hurts LaTrice and Jason’s game, whom Angela and Devens no longer trust because they know he’s playing them.

If both of Dee’s alliance members vote together, that could be enough votes to at least tie the vote, giving Dee the final decision. However, Wednesday will provide more insight into where the house may lean on Thursday.

It may not be over yet for Yash or Taylor.

Big Brother is back tonight at 8/7c for another 90-min show with its first Veto competition event of the 28th season as the new band of Houseguests face a high stakes opportunity to avoid becoming the first person eliminated from the season. No pressure!

On Sunday we saw as Dee won HOH before sending Mallory, Taylor, and Yash to the Block. Don’t forget that Dee had told her “team” during the HOH comp that “we” are all safe this week. Yash isn’t forgetting that, but he does seem ready to forgive. That’d be even easier to say and do with a Veto in your hand, right?

Dee puts her Noms on the Block – Source: CBS

The HGs had the backyard in full on Saturday so that means this Veto comp will be played in the “Big Brother basement” which is really just some studio space nearby the House. Those tend to allow for a little more elaborate set up. This comp kept the Feeds down for nearly four hours but it’s the first round events that move slow as the HGs are learning production’s system on how to do these things.

Once the comp is over the Veto ceremony will be next up and here we’ll see Dee set the final Noms of the week before the first Block Buster on Thursday night’s live show. The talks inside the house are leading to some early decisions, but like I mentioned, that Block Buster keeps everything uncertain. Kinda nice, right? Not surprising that it’s becoming a routine part of recent seasons.

Join us back here at 8PM ET to chat with other fans during the show and to find out what happens next this season. You can find us on Facebook, Bluesky, & Twitter again this summer for even more Big Brother 28 coverage and spoilers throughout the season.

Angela “slightly paranoid” Murray should be a title that the Big Brother star wears proudly. However, she has spent much of her second time on the show trying to improve her game and prove that the Big Brother 26 houseguests and fans were incorrect in their assumptions about her. For the first few days of Big Brother 28, she showed a lot of improvement from her first time on the summer hit.

However, sometimes bad habits are hard to break. Angela’s paranoia has increased each passing day. The cbiggest difference between Angela’s Big Brother 26 game and her Big Brother 28 one is that this time around she has a solid alliance. The Crossovers alliance has been helping her navigate her game anxiety, especially her emotions and focus. Angela wants to win this season, so she has to play more strategically and less emotionally.

Continuously, Dee reassures Angela that she can trust her allies and has nothing to worry about, but Angela still has some doubts. She doubts Drew the most. The young Big Brother superfan is well-liked in the game. He is also very social.

Nonetheless, he remains very transparent and open with his Crossovers alliance. He gains a lot of information from others and then shares it with them. Angela, however, isn’t fully sure if she trusts Drew’s information. She questions whether he’s fully telling them everything. Devens, Barrett, and Dee completely trust Drew and continue to try to convince Angela that she can trust him, too.

For the last few days, Angela’s spiraling has been growing. It mainly started to reach an all-time high when she learned that Jason wasn’t really a fan or on her side. On Tuesday night, Angela grew even more paranoid about Drew. There was even a point where it seemed like she was ready to confront him during the night.

The Crossovers members will continue to try to make Angela see that she can trust Drew. However, some of her past allies can attest to Angela’s paranoia being dangerous for them in the game. Will she learn to trust Drew? Or is another confrontation in the making for Angela?

Let us know in the comments.
