It didn’t seem to be working, but today we would find out whether Drew took the gamble.

We learn pretty early in the day that he hadn’t even considered her proposal. Therefore, that left the day pretty much set. We just had to wait for the Power of Veto Ceremony.

8:20 AM BBT- Houseguests wake for the day.

9:46 AM BBT – Dee and Devens say that they love Barrett but he needs to go this week. They want another competitor out. They’re glad they made it this far and are so close to the end.

10:38 AM BBT – Dee and Devens tells Drew that they would never say no if asked to do Survivor again.

11:15 AM BBT – Devens and Drew have a game talk. Drew talks about being a free agent. Mentions how Barrett or Melody leaves this week. He asks Devens if Dee and he will try to take Yash out during the upcoming double eviction.

11:42 AM BBT – Melody tells Drew that there is still time to use the Veto on her. He says there is still time for her to win the BB Block Buster.

12:26 PM BBT – Feeds go down for the Veto Ceremony.

1:51 PM BBT – Feeds return. Drew used the Veto to save himself. Yash names Taylor as his replacement.

1:51 PM BBT – Devens makes slop, while Dee cooks a different meal.

2:01 PM BBT – Dee, Yash, and Devens talk about how crazy the Big Brother fans probably are. They probably hate everyone and are ripping them apart.

2:05 PM BBT – Yash vents to Barrett and Melody about his frustrations on not being able to get Drew out. He compares him to a cockroach who just keeps surviving. Barrett says Devens is like that too.

2:10 PM BBT – Drew tells Dee and Devens how Melody tried to get him to use the Veto on her. Dee says she would have smacked him if he did that.

2:12 PM BBT – Yash apologizes to Barrett and Melody for getting them in this situation. He said he just had to win the Veto. Barrett says it’s fine. They knew he only had a few options and it didn’t make sense for him to nominate Taylor as an initial nominee.

2:30 PM BBT – Drew and Devens talk about movies.

2:52 PM BBT – Barrett, Melody, and Yash wonder about the upcoming BB Block Buster. Yash wonders if Barrett is too tall to do the ropes.

There is not much likely to happen this week. Barrett and Melody need to win the BB Block Buster, or one of them will likely leave this week. However, Barrett plans to still campaign to save his Big Brother life. That’s something to watch for this week.

The season’s biggest storylines haven’t needed much help from production. The houseguests have created shifting alliances, messy betrayals and unexpected powerswings largely on their own. The battle between the new players and the returning reality-TV Icons has become the defining storyline of the summer, and for a while, it feltlike the game was naturally reaching the point where those two sides would finally collide.

Then came the BB Bribe.

Now, with only seven houseguests remaining, it’s fair to ask whether the twist has distorted a game that was otherwise developing beautifully on its own.

The problem isn’t simply that the Bribe exists. The problem is that its consequences arestill being felt weeks after the deal was made.

Dee used the BB Bribe to offer Yash $5,000 in exchange for protection. The agreement meant Yash could not nominate Dee, Angela or Rick the next time he won Head of Household. Big Brother Network has documented how thedeal continued to hang over the game, including Yash attempting to downplay or conceal the specifics of his agreement.

At the time, it was simply another piece of Big Brother gameplay. Now, it looks much more consequential.

After Barrett finally made the move many fans had been waiting for andnominated Angela, Dee and Devens together, the Icons’ seemingly comfortable position was suddenly in danger. Angela was ultimately evicted, becoming the first of the three to leave the game during that confrontation.

That should have been the beginning of the end for the Icons. Instead, Yash won the next Head of Household. And the Bribe immediately mattered again.

Yash could not simply nominate Dee and Devens. Those two players were protected by a deal created weeks earlier. As a result, his Week 10 nominations became Drew, Melody and Barrett.

That is where the twist starts to feel less like an interesting wrinkle and more like something that is actively steering the game.

Think about the timing.

Barrett had just spent his HOH taking the biggest shot yet at the Icons. He nominated allthree of them and helped break apart a group that had survived for much of the season. Angela was eventually sent to the jury. Barrett’s move appeared to have fundamentallychanged the balance of power.

But Yash’s HOH couldn’t completely follow that new dynamic because the Bribe restricted two of the players who otherwise could have been legitimate nominees.

Instead, Barrett became a nominee himself.

That doesn’t mean Barrett’s move was a mistake. In fact, Angela herself has since criticized him for betraying their alliance and suggested that his actions could make him a major target. It does, however, demonstrate just how much influence the Bribe continues to have.

And there’s an even bigger question: Is this actually bad gameplay, or is it just gameplay that fans don’t like?

That’s where the argument against the “Bribe ruined the season” theory becomes pretty compelling. Dee made the deal. Yash accepted it. Both players took a risk.

Dee had to convince Yash that $5,000 was worth giving up future flexibility. Yash had todecide that the money was worth accepting restrictions on a future HOH. That is still Big Brother. Players have always used safety deals, promises and incentives to manipulate one another.

The twist didn’t force Yash to trust Dee. He chose to take the money. And Dee’s decision has arguably become one of the best strategic moves of the season.

She didn’t win HOH. She didn’t win the Power of Veto. She didn’t dictate who would be evicted. Yet she managed to buy herself and Devens protection that eventually becameextremely valuable at the Final 7. That’s pretty impressive.

The more interesting criticism is that the Bribe has changed the type of gameplay BigBrother 28 rewards.

Before the twist became such a major factor, the season’s story was increasingly about players identifying threats and taking them out organically. Barrett’s decision tonominate the three Icons was a perfect example. He finally chose a side, put hisrelationships on the line and forced the house to make a difficult decision.

Now, Yash’s HOH is partially defined by what he cannot do. That’s a significant distinction.

The most compelling Big Brother seasons usually allow the houseguests’ relationships, rivalries and strategic decisions to determine who gains power. BB28 had been doingexactly that. The Bribe introduced an external mechanic that could preserve arelationship or alliance long after the circumstances surrounding that deal had changed.

The BB Bribe didn’t necessarily ruin Big Brother 28. It complicated it.

The Icons are still falling. Angela is gone. Barrett’s move still dramatically reshaped thegame. Yash still won HOH. Drew is now in serious danger. And the players themselvesare still responsible for making decisions within the restrictions the twist created.

In other words, the Bribe hasn’t completely taken the game away from the houseguests. But it has left a very large fingerprint on the endgame. That’s why the question is worth asking.

If Big Brother 28 really was becoming a refreshingly organic season, the BB Bribe may be the one production twist that fans could reasonably argue was unnecessary. The houseguests were already creating enough chaos on their own.

Maybe the Bribe didn’t ruin the season. Maybe it simply interrupted something that was already working remarkably well.

Do you think the BB Bribe ruined a clean season?

The latest Big Brother spoilers are in for the Week 10 Power of Veto meeting. No surprises were expected and none were delivered thanks to the conclusion of the BB Bribe keeping Yash’s hands tied, but now that’s officially over and Yash is free to move about the cabin. I bet he can’t wait. Of course he’ll need to survive the Double Eviction coming up on Thursday!

But for now, the Veto has run its course and the final Noms of the week are set with the target shifting to the week’s backup plan who didn’t fare as well in the Endurance Veto Comp over the weekend. That’s bad news for Barrett.

Power of Veto Ceremony Spoilers – Week 10

Drew used his Veto on himself

Yash named Taylor as the renom

Barrett, Melody, and Taylor are this week’s final Noms

For anyone who missed what’s going on, since Yash accepted the BB Bribe from Dee he hasn’t been able to nom or renom any of the Vets in his HOH. So with only four non-Vets left available to Yash and one of this three Noms getting the Veto that meant Taylor was the one and only option he had to renom. No way around it.

Barrett is now the top pick to go but that’s before the Block Buster and that’s before he makes his own BB Bribe pitch to the Vets. I expect he’s going to need to get that BBBB win on Thursday or else he’ll be following Angela out the door as the first of two evictions that night.

If Barrett does get the Buster win then Taylor could be in some real trouble and you know it’ll burn Yash to see his only real remaining ally go on his watch, but that’s twists like the Bribe can do to your game!

Stick around and we will find out what happens next on Big Brother 28! Who do you think will be the next evicted HG? Vote each day in our poll below:

It was another classic penthouse-to-the-doghouse scenario for Barrett this week on Big Brother 28. After riding high on securing his first HOH and having the chance to put all three of the Vets on the Block he coasted in to the week’s finish line to see his grand plans crumble around him as Angela went off to Jury while Dee and Devens stared him down in disbelief.

And sure enough, just as Dee warned him would happen, Barrett is right in the hot seat that they had warmed up for him the week before in his attempt to turn on his Crossover allies. I imagine in the long run Barrett will be satisfied with his move last week, especially when he’s out and hears all the cheers of how much many fans enjoyed seeing him finally putting the heat on the season’s untouchables. Alas, Dee was kinda right.

So now Barrett is in a tough spot. He’s on the Block and lost the Veto after doing an amazing job holding out for such a long period in that endurance comp. But when he lost to the week’s bigger target of Drew, well then he himself became the big target.

With his back against the wall, Barrett knows he’s got to start pitching some deals and offers but with little leverage he isn’t sure what he can offer. Overnight Barrett did a bit of camtalking and followed it up with Drew for a discussion of his ideas.

Walking the yard Barrett said he was considering going to Dee and Devens to pitch his own BB Bribe, just without the money attached. He would tell the Vets that he promises not to target/nom/renom them in his next HOH and they could have that for the low low price of $0.

Not only would he keep them safe, they could tell him who to target, who to vote out, when to jump, and how high! This would lead him to promise he’d be targeting Drew, Melody, Yash, and Taylor in effect since there is no one else left. But he’d also tell Drew that this was all a lie, no matter what Drew was hearing from the Vets at the same time.

And he does go to Drew with this plan. He explains it’s all he can think up and he wouldn’t really be going after Drew or the other Newbies. It’d be a lie to buy him enough time to turn right around swing at the Vets again.

I can’t imagine this is going to do much for him this week and what Barrett really needs is that Block Buster. He’ll be up against Taylor and Melody, so really this is this best possible matchup he could hope to have considering the alternatives in the home. Without that BBBB win, I expect Dee will gleefully evict her former ally just to say “I told you so.”

It’s Monday, which means it is Veto Ceremony Day inside the Big Brother 28 house! The return of the Pressure Cooker competition brought another deal into the mix between two of the Big Brother houseguests. The only difference with this one is that it isn’t binding like the BB Bribe deal Yash made with the Icons. Read on to find out what will happen at the Veto Ceremony for Week 10 of BB28!

Well, as we saw on Sunday’s episode, Yash won this week’s Head of Household, which was arguably the worst time to win a comp for him. However, he nominated the remaining members of FAP, Melody, Drew, and Barrett, with Drew being his primary target. Devens tried to convince Yash to target Barrett, but didn’t fight him too hard on this scenario.

Taylor was the only HG who didn’t play in this week’s Veto, which would have made the potential of one of the remaining Icons being used as a renom higher if she had won. If you have been keeping up with the happenings inside the house, then you know that Yash made a deal with Drew during the final minutes of the Veto. He made Drew swear that he wouldn’t vote Taylor out this week and that he wouldn’t nominate or renominate Taylor or Yash if he won HOH next week. When Drew agreed to this deal, Yash gave him the Veto win.

Thanks to the BB Bribe, there is only one scenario that can play out this week since Yash can’t renom Devens or Dee this week. Drew will use the Veto on himself and Taylor will become the renom at the Veto Ceremony. Taylor should survive the block this week because even if she loses the Block Buster and Drew goes back on his promise to Yash, that would force a tie and Yash would break it in her favor no matter if she is sitting next to Melody or Barrett when it comes time for the live vote.

Not sure this was the way Yash saw his HOH going, but he still has a shot at taking out one member of the trio.

Big Brother 28 has been the season of short lived deals and alliances. Sure, every season in the modern era seems to be driven by who can name the most ridiculous alliances and long gone are the days of core groups locking in and riding off into the sunset. Nothing lasts forever in the Big Brother house anymore, but could this latest partnership between Drew and Yash actually last just a few more days?

As part of the final hours of an impressively lengthy Endurance Veto competition on Saturday night the last remaining competitors were Yash and Drew. Once Barrett was out the two were left alone with the opportunity to make a deal. Nothing surprising as we see end-of-comp deals pitched all the time.

Drew wanted Yash to drop and give him the safety of the Veto. Now Drew has been Yash’s target for a while now so Yash agreeing to anything seemed questionable here. Later we heard from Yash that he had a lot of fuel left in his tank and thought he could keep going, but all the same Yash agreed and dropped out with a few stipulations.

Yash wanted Drew to keep Taylor safe in the vote this week, not nom/renom Yash in Drew’s next HOH, and keep this deal secret. Now like I mentioned before, I don’t expect Drew to vote out Barrett or Melody on Thursday over Taylor, but will Drew honor the rest of it?

Here’s the interesting part. I thought for sure once Drew was up and moving on Sunday he’d tell his Big Brother dad Devens. Nope! Okay, then surely he’d take this to his late-night talk sessions with Melody… Nope! Not even a mention to Barrett when they were trying to think through how Barrett could survive the week as a prime target for the Vets.

Drew didn’t mention a thing to anyone. So what about Yash’s side of that agreement to keep it hush? Same there. Now Yash has fewer allies remaining so fewer opportunities, but still he didn’t share this with Taylor nor did he leverage it with anyone else that he was trying to rebuild with for future security.

I’m surprised and impressed. Neither Drew nor Yash have spilled the beans on their deal. So does that mean Drew plans to honor it? I just don’t see him keeping Taylor over his FAP allies, but sure, I think he could be willing to keep Yash safe until he just can’t because of the small number of options remaining at this point.

Maybe the Vets kicked their pet Drew just too many times and he’s finally wising up that he needs to watch out for his own game at this stage. Case in point, Melody batting her eyes at Drew last night and asking him to save her with the Veto instead of himself. Drew chuckled and declined, but I think Melody knew that would happen.

This will be interesting to watch and see what Drew does next. If he honors the keep-Yash-safe part then that means he’s targeting the Vets over FAP (presuming Taylor does go this round). Barrett has said many times recently that he still wants to go to the end with FAP and Drew could be thinking the same. I’d sure rather go there with Melody than the Vets, but the same for not going there with Yash.

Yash will probably have bigger concerns come Double Eviction night though. If he survives that chaos then we can start talking more about what happens next from there for his game.
