To register, first go to the sign on page. You can get there by clicking the Register link at the top right of any page:

Then click the “Connect with Facebook” button:

A Facebook window will appear and ask you if it’s okay to connect your Facebook account to BigHugeLabs. Facebook will ask you to sign in if you are not already. Your password is not shared with BigHugeLabs! This confirmation is private and totally between you and Facebook.

After you’ve approved the connection, you have two choices. If you’ve never registered here before, simply enter your email address and agree to the terms of service to complete your registration. If you already have a BigHugeLabs account, enter your BigHugeLabs email and password to link your Facebook account to it:

That’s it! From now on, when you want to sign in to BigHugeLabs, just click the “Connect with Facebook” button and you will be automatically whisked away to poster-making goodness in one easy click.

First, decide if you want to tile your background or not. If you want to tile your background so that it fills the entire screen then create a mosaic in a rectangular or square format (for example, 3×2 or 5×5). If you want to use a static background along the left edge of the browser window, create a tall mosaic that is just 1 colulmn wide (for example, 1×10). To help the mosaic blend in, choose a border and background color that match your Twitter profile colors.

Of course, these are just guidelines to get you started. Go nuts. Have fun with it.

Recently my sixth grade students have been working on a research project about our National Parks. One of their project choices was making a National Park trading card based on their research … The students loved making these cards. It is the kind of project that could be adapted to almost any subject. You could even have the students do these at home as a homework assignment as a fun way to publish a paragraph or report!
