I noticed you are still looking for a Big Sky Conference blogger. Weber State is my area of expertise. I am the former sports editor of WSU’s student newspaper ‘The Signpost’ and currently work at the sports copy desk for the ‘Standard-Examiner’. I doubt you will find a more knowledgable WSU sports man than myself and I have many contacts throughout the university’s athletic department and players. Let me know if you are still game.

2009 will not be the year for Northern Arizona football.

I admire Jerome Souers and the NAU program, but with such a tough schedule and so many key losses, incuding Big Sky Newcomer of the Year, RB Deonte Williams, all-BSC kicker Robbie Dehaze and QB Lane Kriesen, the Lumberjacks will be lucky to win more than two games in 2009.

Look for the early season matchup against Southern Utah to be a bellwether for the season. If the ‘jacks cannot prevail over the Thunderbirds at home, I see a very long 2-9 season in store for 2009.

Good writeup…….It all comes down to this. 2 Weeks ago I was in doubt that we would reach this point…..who would have guessed we would go through the BSC tourney without facing Weber?
