Filip Nikolic aka Turbotito of Ima Robot/ex-Guns’n'Bombs fame is showing off a new look with a single out on THORN01 and a mixtape which promises gloom.

“Liquid Disco” is aptly titled as the song sounds like its title… liquid disco about sums it up. The b-side is a winner as well with production tips from Ima Robot bandmate Timmy The Terror. Both are excellent late night summer jams.

Tronik Youth is banging out a new single on Backyard Recordings called “Disko Sucks.” The teaser above doesn’t give too much away but it sounds like it’ll be some good thumping electro with maybe some tongue in cheek disco laced through.

Mr. Youth also hooked us up with one of his unreleased remixes for Kitsuné darlings You Love Her Coz Shes Dead… you know, the other Crystal Castles rip-off band. Tronik Youth’s approach to “Me Versus You” is a little more timely and a little less frantic than the original:

Holmar Filipsson and Klas-Henrik Lindblad aka Sasse have the LP “A Splendor In The Grass” coming out at the end of July. Its a really nice release and the combination of these two has brought elements of deep house, disco, and funk to the table. I had serious trouble picking only a couple of songs to feature here. It’s released through Nang Records.

Disco Bloodbath add another winner to their remix arsenal. Bloodbath’s remix of “Pieces of You” builds it up slowly and never quite brings you over the edge but rather leaves you full like a good meal. And thankfully it never loses sight of Wolf Gang in the mix. Lovelovelove the use of guitar in this remix; kinda hoping guitar is making a comeback but not really holding my breath.

Delorean’s new “Ayrton Senna” EP is out now on Fool House (iTunes). It is a must have for any music lover. To celebrate they put together a little mixtape that includes a couple tracks from the EP, some of their remixes and a couple unreleased numbers. It’s a good listen:

Lilofee, the San Francisco band known to rock the stage, is getting a remix contest together for their single “Destroy Me”. These guy are some of the nicest guys in town and have been pushing Bay Area music for quite sometime. They have some neat prizes for you as well. The winner gets a copy of REASON RECORD, a custom Vestalife Ladybug IPod Dock with logo of your choice, and a Future Sounds Records digital release of the remix in conjunction with the release of the single and the video too.

The famous London queer disco party that is Horse Meat Disco is showcasing the Horse Meat antics around the world with a string of dates featuring resident deejays and founders Jim Stanton and James Hillard. The hetro friendly queer party has had some of the worlds best DJ/Producers play there including the likes of Maurice Fulton, James Murphy, Dimitri From Paris and stacks more. We are lucky to have the Horse Meat Disco antics at Lick It this Friday July 10th in Brisbane (flyer). Come down for some debaucherous retro disco delights. Neon Indian, the Alan Palomo project outside of VEGA, is gaining momentum with the announcement of the release of Neon Indian’s first LP Psychic Chasms on October 13, 2009. Palomo teamed up with video artist Alicia Scardetta who makes up the other half of Neon Indian. I think it’ll be safe to say we can expect something special at their live shows.
