Our travel plans, at the moment, are  limited. Walton on Thames next week for a few days.  The great Dorset in August, something we have been attending on a frequent basis since 1976.

Next winter? who knows.

North America, snow birds.  Europe, grey nomads.  People, normaly retired, who travel south for the winter.  It is almost a sub culture.  Irrospective of nationality there is a common bond and a willingness to share experience.  This is helpful when you are planning an overnight stop on route.  They know all the best sites within easy reach of primary routes.  The informal network of information would rival google.

That gives me a nice link to the other heading, silver surfers.  Often greeted with, “we like this site, the Wi Fi is good”.  Note books and laptops abound.  If you want to know anything about Skype, Voip, on line banking or the latest sat nav, these are the people to ask.  Mind you nothing to technical.

And, to round it off.  Just a minute on television.

This cheese is available from Carrefour, a soft blue cheese.

It is tasty, and, more importantly, inexpensive.  Is that a posh way of saying cheap?

We are on a site between the river and the town.

Wednesday, aire at Calais.  Thursday, ferry from Dunkerque.

Look forward to seeing family and friends.

At least that amount in the car.

We have been away 113 days.

Two days rain.

We have only payed to park the car twice.

Been stopped by the police once, in the car, for a routine documents check.

Visited three countries.

Seen some wonderful big birds.

Been made welcome by some nice people in all the countries.

Ate some really nice bread and pastries.

Enjoyed the company of other travellers.

Tourist information office lacking.

May be we have visited so many that we are getting a bit blasé.
