Last night we bought the first moving boxes and starting this Friday I am officially on “vacation” until the 12th to get settled in our new home. Luckily my mom is coming to visit on Saturday for a few days, to help me with painting and a bit of decorating (aren’t moms the best invention ever?!?!). This past month I have spent countless hours on interior blogs and pinterest, trying to gather tons of inspiration for our new place. I finally feel like we found a style that will work for both Mike and I in terms of our taste. Of course there are still many things to plan and moving is always a long process (buying lamps seems to be our biggest challenge …) but I wanted to share some of the things that we have decided on so far.

Last Thursday, the lovely Gabby was in town because she had a shoot scheduled in Vienna. I’m not sure how many of you know the story of how Gabby & I became friends, but it definitely holds a special place in my heart because she is the first “real life friend” that I met through blogging. We started reading each other’s blogs (back then she still wrote Gypsy Diaries) over 2 years ago and have kept in touch ever since then, including visits to Budapest and Vienna (seems I am always wearing the same leopard scarf when Gabby comes to visit). Over a year ago, Gabby quit her office job in a big company to pursue her dream of becoming a photographer. Today she is living in Barcelona and traveling the world, photographing lovely couples, happy families and of course weddings. Pretty amazing, huh?

When she was visiting last week, we met up for dinner at Tel Aviv Beach (we both have an obsession with hummus) and on the way home she snapped these outfit pictures in literally 2 minutes because the sun was setting super fast. I am totally loving my new blouse with shoulder cut-outs – a simple black blouse with a little twist.

Sunday’s Cravings: maxi skirt.

Not only am I currently loving maxi dresses, but also maxi skirts. As of now I only own one (seen HERE) but am looking to expand my collection this summer. They are a little (lot) more covering than shorts, which makes a maxi skirt totally office appropriate, while still being airy and summery for a hot day. Perfection in my eyes!!

Yesterday I received some samples of the new Dior Summer Mix collection (available June 22nd until August 24th) and a bottle of the new Dior Addict parfum “Eau Sensuelle” from the lovely people of Dior. I am literally obsessing over the “cosmo – 178″ nail color, such a perfect bright pink for the summer. The yellow “acapulco – 118″ is not a color I would particularly choose for myself, but maybe if I’m in the right mood I’ll give it a try.

I’ve been more than busy these past few days. Between buying furniture for our new home, working 5 days a week, keeping the apartment clean, sorting out old stuff to prepare for the move and trying to squeeze in some fitness there is hardly enough time for anything else right now. But I actually enjoy being busy and falling into bed exhausted at night. The next few weeks will be so fun with the move just ahead and my mom coming to visit to help me with some painting and decorating of the new rooftop terrace. Tonight the wonderful Gabby of En Route Photography is coming to visit because she has a shoot here in Vienna and I am definitely looking forward to catching up with one of my oldest bloggie-friends over a relaxed dinner! Happy Thursday, everyone ♥

Last night I was invited to a dinner at the destilat showroom. The food was cooked by the lovely Una Abraham on the new camouflage kitchen, made from eternit. The evening would have been fun anyhow, but knowing that we’ll move into a new apartment soon made it extra fun being at the destilat showroom and drooling over some of their amazing pieces!! The food was amazing, so was the wine and of course the company (the lovely Madeleine). Here are some impressions from last night:

It is no secret that colored jeans are a major trend right now. As I am a person that usually prefers to dress in colors rather than black, this is one trend I definitely didn’t want to skip. Along with my pink pants, I bought the exact same pair in mint sometime back in April. I’ve actually worn them a ton but never got around to taking outfit pictures. Last Thursday was surprisingly chilly, so combined with a warm sweater and faux fur vest the minted pants made for a summery yet warm outfit.

Currently I find myself spending multiple hours a day on Pinterest, searching for all kinds of inspiration for our new apartment. Because we are upgrading quite a few pieces I am super excited about a new look for our place. While shopping for the “bigger” items (bed, couch, closet, …) I am trying to stay pretty basic because we are looking for pieces that we’ll have for many years to come. I want to make sure it is nothing I’ll be sick of in a few months. Smaller items like lamps, books, vases and pictures add so much to a room and those are the things that can be changed around every once in a while. For this week’s Sunday’s Cravings I wanted to share my inspiration for our new bedroom with you guys:

1. interesting books & magazines are always a MUST next to my bed.

2. I want a nightstand that looks good but is practical also. I like a cool mirrored one or simple black version, drawers are a must!

3. Fresh flowers always add such a summery feeling to any room & can be a pop of color.

I spent the morning checking out the fleamarket by the Naschmarkt and found some pretty vintage bowls to store jewelry. Since I have to re-organize everything before moving anyway, I took the chance to clean out my jewelry drawer. Btw, I’ll be selling all the stuff I won’t be moving into the new apartment (lots of jewelry & clothes) at the Backyard Sale on June 2nd, so be sure to stop by!

A few weeks back Mike and I had drinks at the Penta Hotel in Vienna’s 5th district & absolutely loved it. Not only is the place decorated super cool, but it is also very layed back & easy going with lots of couches, dimmed light and great music. The moment we saw the burgers being served to the table next to us we knew we had to come back for dinner some time soon. This past Wednesday we happened to be in the mood for burgers and so we gave the Penta Hotel a try. Let me just tell you that we were not disappointed one bit!! So if you are on the look-out for a cool place for dinner and drinks (and games – they have a pool table & chess) this is definitely the right place.

We all ate the Penta Cheeseburger so I can’t say much about the other items on the menu. But as far as the burger goes, it was literally picture perfect and tasted just like it looked. Definitely worth a try if you’re not vegetarian!
