A few weeks back Mike and I had drinks at the Penta Hotel in Vienna’s 5th district & absolutely loved it. Not only is the place decorated super cool, but it is also very layed back & easy going with lots of couches, dimmed light and great music. The moment we saw the burgers being served to the table next to us we knew we had to come back for dinner some time soon. This past Wednesday we happened to be in the mood for burgers and so we gave the Penta Hotel a try. Let me just tell you that we were not disappointed one bit!! So if you are on the look-out for a cool place for dinner and drinks (and games – they have a pool table & chess) this is definitely the right place.

We all ate the Penta Cheeseburger so I can’t say much about the other items on the menu. But as far as the burger goes, it was literally picture perfect and tasted just like it looked. Definitely worth a try if you’re not vegetarian!

As most of you already read on my Facebook page, we finally found a new apartment (after about a year of on-and-off searching). It is so exciting to plan everything and I can’t wait to move in a couple of weeks. Yesterday after work we stopped by to show my brother the place and measure a few walls so we can start ordering some new furniture. Of course I had to take the chance to snap a few pictures on our terrace and give you guys a little preview of the gorgeous view over Vienna from up there.

I’m not sure about you guys, but the weather in Austria has been driving me crazy lately. One day we’re blessed with 30°C and nothing but sunshine and the next day we’re back to 14°C, rain & wearing boots. I’m so ready for summer to finally stay here and make the best of my summer wardrobe. Especially the neon trend is one that I can’t wait to wear more (seen in this outfit post). New summer – new colours!! What colours are you guys most excited about this season?

As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I spent the weekend in Budapest with my family. It was my second time visiting the city and it impressed me just as much as it did on my first visit. Even though Budapest and Vienna are generally very similar in terms of architecure, climate, … I still find it interesting to see how different the cities can be despite those similarities. If any of you decide to travel Europe, I highly recommend making a stop in Budapest!! Here are some impressions from our weekend:

{on Friday evening we had drinks at Szimpla Kert, a super cool location for drinks during the summer}

{amazing pizza for dinner on Friday}

{our first try at Hungarian wine}

{on Saturday we started out day at the very traditional Café Central to fuel up for some sightseeing}

{first stop on Saturday: the grand market hall for some Hungarian chilis and paprika seasoning}

{after the market hall we hiked up to the Buda Castle and walked to the Matthias Church}

{the district around the Buda Castle is so cute, it could be straight out of a movie}

{from the castle we walked back down to the Danube and saw the gorgeous Parliament across the river}

{Sunday was my mom’s birthday, we started the day with a birthday brunch at the New York Salon}

{definitel worth a visit!! It was a wonderful recommendation from Madeleine, who was in Budapest earlier this year}

{after brunch and lots of presents we toured the Dohàny Synagogue, which is the 2nd largest in the world, after NYC}

Other than that we had dinner at Menza Etterem on Saturday and walked down Andrassy Avenue (where all the luxury stores & the opera are). I feel like we saw a ton of the city, including some new places that I hadn’t seen on my first trip and still had a relaxing weekend with long meals and lots of laughter with the family.

There really is nothing better than quality time with your loved ones in an amazing city. Last week I bought a new nail color that I had had my eyes on for a while – Essie’s “tart deco”. To me it is THE perfect shade of a peachy pink for summer & it reminds me of cocktails by the beach while watching the sunset … don’t ask why tho :) Anyway, since we had some very warm days last week I am already on the look-out for more pretty colors for the summer. What are your favorites right now?

One of my favorite new additions to my closet has to be this blouse from H&M. I had been searching for a blouse that was super long in the back for weeks or even months and finally found it on a random Saturday a few weeks ago. The gorgeous subtle blush pink simply adds to how much I already love it!! I can’t wait to wear it with a pair of denim cut-offs, sandals and a popping nail color in the summer.

Last night I was invited to attend the Havana Club celebrations at Hotel Nacional de Cuba to kick off the Havaneros Tour 2012 through Austria. And boy, it was amazing! Cuba is definitely a place I would LOVE to visit some day. The people, the music, the joy of life, the mojitos (!!) and simply everything about the culture is absolutely fascinating! The event couldn’t have been better and I really felt like I was in Cuba for a few hours last night! I’ll show you what I wore in tomorrow’s post.

One of my mottos is to always start the week on the right track with a good workout on Mondays. Even though I stayed at work a little longer last night, I still wanted to squeeze in a good workout to stay on track. As I told you guys last week, my goal is to workout 3x per week, which I think is very realistic. I also try to do lots of running since I have a 10k run coming up on June 3rd and I want to finish within a certain time I set for myself. At the same time I want to incorporate some strength training to tone up for the summer. I’ve done the workout below at least once a week (also the one I did last night) for the past few weeks and really love it. You don’t need a gym and the best part is that it only takes about 40-45 minutes! Give it a try and let me know how you like it!!

Yesterday was surprisingly sunny (the forecast said rain – which, luckily, didn’t make an appearance until the evening) and we spent lots of time outdoors, soaking up some sun at Tel Aviv Beach – definitely one of my favorite summertime locations in Vienna. I LOVE my new pants from Zara, they’re so airy and casual and yet you could probably combine them with a silky blouse and heels for a night out. Plus the color is perfection!!
