While there are literally hundreds of ways to market a business online, aspiring entrepreneurs should make a point of following trends, as these can be extremely important to the success of their business.

One marketing technique which has grown hotter by the month is video marketing. So much so, that now it is almost impossible to ignore the importance of this type of marketing, no matter what business you are in.

1. Instant Gratification In this modern day and age, no one has time to spare. Video marketing can be short, to the point, and entertaining in various ways from the sublime to the ridiculous. They make their point, however it is made, quickly.

2. A “no selling” technique

Using video marketing can easily be a “no selling” technique, in that the point can be made without it being a direct sales pitch. No one likes being “sold” and video marketing lends itself to the “no selling” technique very well.

3. An exploding trend

Video marketing has done nothing but expand over the past few years. So much so that Google saw the future, and bought YouTube in 2006 for a reported $1.65 billion. Shortly thereafter, other video websites appeared, Vimeo, Hulo and Flixwagon, just to name a few. It costs a great deal of effort to run and maintain this type of site, yet the owners are capitalizing on this expanding trend.

4. It really can be easy

With the ever increasing costs of traditional marketing strategies, including the exorbitant cost of print advertising, video marketing is a very feasible option. All it takes is an up to date computer system to be able to start advertising with video.

There are lots of techniques which can be employed from simple screen capture up to highly technical sound, screen and image methods. For the beginner it is easy to start with something relatively simple and easy and gradually step up your skills as you go. The main thing to remember is to be creative, original and yourself.

5. Easily go Viral

If your video is compelling enough, there is a good chance that it will go viral. Word will spread, and this will bring some serious traffic to your website. This in turn will eventually mean sales. As videos can be placed in so many places on the web, traffic is sourced from so many more places, than just the video hosting sites. If your video catches the attention of many, it can be copied and duplicated on practically any site, virally exploding the exposure, and resultant traffic.

6. Opens the possibility of Extra Income.

Once your video goes viral, and is generating enough traffic, this opens up the possibility of further income. Have you ever watched a video, where, at the start of the video an ad will automatically play? The owners of the original video will get paid each time that ad is played. An additional stream of income for doing something that you need to do anyway, advertise! Get a video that is worth watching, gives value, and catches attention and things can really take off.

7. Social Media sites and video

Where once a photo album sufficed to create a presence on social media sites, there is now a growing trend to flock to video sites to include videos. This also gives a great opportunity for branding yourself, placing yourself in a community so that what you have to offer is remembered.

Consistent video marketing will go a long way to advertise you business. Keep things simple, but convey a point backed by facts. Do not make it seem rehearsed, unscripted with minor mistakes can work equally well, and sometimes more so. Provide value to the viewer, the more the better.

While the video marketing trend has been running for quite some time, the trend has by no means run its course. There is more than enough room for your business to benefit.

If you have a 100 page website, you should have 100 newsletter subscribe boxes on your website.   You can integrate a subscribe box just about anywhere on a website or add a pop up window (still very effective.) You could add one just before an article starts, in the middle of an article or even at the end of the article.   As long as you have good content on your website, you won’t have a problem getting people to subscribe to your newsletter or free report.
	List Building Tip 2 – Offer A Useful Hard To Resist Gift   I’ve had a bit of a problem with offering freebies to get people to subscribe to a list, but I also know it does work well if the free offer is something that will help or be useful to the visitor.
Why do I have a problem with it? Well I really want buying subscribers not freebie seekers to be signing up for my newsletter.   The best way to offer a freebie is to create one yourself and not something you have reprint rights to with 500 other people. You want it to be unique, and you want it to be something that compliments your newsletters topic. Using public label rights content is fine because you can make it unique.   Do you know what makes a good bonus? Back issues of your newsletter!   List Building Tip 3 – Use Free Viral Ebooks To Get New Subscribers   Want to get lots of new subscribers for your ezine without spending a penny on advertising?   You can create an ebook as a free product for everyone, or just give the book to other website owners in your niche with reprint rights to the product so they can sell your product while making 100% commission in the process.   I prefer the reprint right route because people are more likely to read and value a book they have paid for. Just make sure your details are all over the ebook and that its in pdf format so it can’t be changed.   The goal really isn’t to make money from the book, it’s to get more exposure and subscribers for your website.   So find a group of publishers in your market, let them know you created a new ebook with sales letter that they can use and plug straight into their website and give them a mailing promotion to use and tell them they can have the book for free and that they can either sell the book or give the book to their customers as a bonus etc.   List Building Tip 4 – Do Audio Interviews With Experts In Your Market   Audio interviews are a great idea to get more subscribers in non internet marketing circles.   I’m not going to get into how to create audio products but interviewing experts over the phone and recording it will get your newsletter splashed all over the Internet.   When you take marketing tactics from the internet marketing arena and apply them into other niche markets where they have never been seen before, you will get noticed.   Most things have been done to death in internet marketing, we are all immune to even the most brilliant marketing tactics as we see them almost everyday, but other niche markets eat these things up.   Do you know how to find experts in any field almost instantly? Just go to the top article directories such as ezinearticles.com, find the category related to the niche your in and take some time to research the writers of the top rated articles.   Some may have their own websites so contact them via their website contact details and tell them you want to interview them because you’ve read an article they’ve written and it was great and you think your subscribers would benefit from their knowledge.   Most will do this without charging you a penny if you are outside the marketing area, they will just get a thrill out of being interviewed.   Once you have these interviews, tell all the publishers you’ve been in contact with from tip 3, that you have this great set of mp3′s just completed and you want to offer them for free to their lists.   Setup a page on your website with the download link to these mp3′s and also put a subscribe form near them for your newsletter and you will be surprised how many people will sign up before and after they listen to your mp3s.   Don’t make it so these people have to sign up for your newsletter before they get the mp3s.   List Building Tip 5 – Archive Your Newsletter Copies On Your Website   Sometimes people are hesitant to give any sort of information away over the Internet, especially their email address even if what you are offering is free.   But if you allow people to read your back issues without having to sign up for your newsletter, this will show them what type of content you write and will make them want to join.   You would think having your newsletter issues archived would cut back on subscribers wanting to subscribe because they can get it without giving their email address away, but this is not true.   What you do is tell them on the website that newsletter subscribers get each issue 1 month before it is published on the website for non subscribers.   If the information is especially time sensitive they will definitely want to subscribe.   ———–   Uncover a secret library of list building techniques that show you exactly how to grow, sell to and profit from your own email list everyday. If no one has told you yet, this business is conducted in a High Stress environment! The faster we resume by re-grouping, the faster we get over the anger. As true professionals, we don’t even have time to get even.

WHY?

Well, if we really want sales and money, there is too much productive work to be done, in the course of every business day. Forget that mean streak and send MORE emails, make MORE calls and make MORE sales. Work can also take care of our mental and emotional state, during the anger period. Get busy and find someone who wants to buy from you. There are a lot of people waiting for you. FIND THEM!

The business that we are in is Global. Selling can be easy, once you find someone who really wants to buy from you. All YOU need to do is look! Too many things can and do go wrong, each and every day.

IF you use up all your time to deal with problems, you won’t ever sell anything. You will need to fix the things that MUST be fixed. Once you fix these unwanted problems, MOVE on to your next prospect.

If you suspect a setup or conspiracy, be sure to make a habit of relaxing yourself. Focus, decide on your main goal and always give YOU and your business free reign, so you can keep making money! You were never appointed ruler, so REFORMING the entire world is NOT yOUR job, or mine.

What are Forums?

Forums are discussion boards where people congregate on the internet to chat with, share ideas, etc., with people who have similar interests. Forums can be found on just about any subject imaginable, and some you would not!

If you want to find people interested in a particular subject, forums are an ideal way of finding them.

If you have a business in a particular field, joining forums related to that is a good way to get your word out to a targeted market.

Finding Forums:

Finding forums is usually as easy as doing a search on the main search engines. This will bring up way more than you will need, but to make your time worthwhile, search out the most popular forums for the subject you are interested in. Those with the largest, regular user, memberships, will give your postings the most exposure.

Using a Forum:

There are guidelines to be followed to stay in the good graces of the moderators and other users of most forums. It is strongly advised that you read through the rules and guidelines provided for any forum before you join. Find out what their rules are regarding advertising, signature files, etc. to make sure it is worth your while joining.

Once you have found a forum (or forums) which you feel suit your purpose, you will have to register. This is usually easy to do and takes a couple of minutes.

Simply joining a forum and then placing blatant adverts will get you barred swiftly from the majority of forums. However, if you follow a few simple steps you can enjoy the company on the forum and at the same time do a little subtle advertising, which can be very effective.

Your first post should introduce yourself. You are joining a community after all, be polite. Stay on subject in your postings, do not start posting about something completely different. Follow the flow of posts. Either ask intelligent questions about the subject being discussed, or offer a valid comment or even answer a question if you can.

In other words, begin to fit in with the community and build a presence within the group. Once others see that you respect their group, and want to fit in with its values, etc., you will be accepted and they will want to know more about you. This is when your membership of forums really begins to pay dividends.

Never blatantly advertise. Many forums allow what is called a signature file which is usually one or two lines, which appear at the bottom of any posting you make. Again check to see what each forum does or does not allow.

Make your signature file interesting, but short. Use a catchy message, usually with only one, or at most two links. If allowed use colors and/or bold lettering to attract attention. Changing the signature file regularly also attracts attention.

By taking it slowly, and becoming a respected member of the forum, you will find that other forum members will begin to pay attention to your postings, and your signature file. Your postings will build your reputation as knowledgeable on the subject, and they will want to see what you are doing and offering through your links.

Although it may take a little time to establish yourself in a forum, by posting regularly you can fairly quickly become known and accepted and see the results of your efforts.

Merry GO Round AND Roller Coaster!

Think of life’s ride like a roller coaster. The life of a sales professional is like this inverted steel twister. The brute gravity force levels, probably equal astronaut training. That’s on GOOD days!

Are we having fun? This is a question often joked about. The answer is — Yes! As soon as we understand the sales reality that for Down days, we’ll see UP days, then we can make our daily business motions, with some sense of perspective, reality and success. After all, most of us can relate to the fact that OUR world, often becomes an Up-and-Down world by lunchtime. And, on the net, lunchtime isn’t always OUR time.

For the most part, the smart seller looks and sounds normal. These things will happen in sales. If you’re really good, you just learn to let go and YELL! If you’re new to this Yo-Yo life, hang onto your head! All of this is really supposed to be fun, and it is Fun — in its own peculiar way. After all, we probably wouldn’t be in this sales CIRCUS, if we, and IT, weren’t very special.

Doing the phony motions won’t cut you a paycheck. You can play business and sales around the clock and never experience, the THRILL of the BIG catch! The serious hunter hunts for the BIG chase and catch. Good sales professionals always see themselves as being ONE sale away from a paycheck! We’re on a Merry GO Round that never actually stops. WE welcome the chase!

When the curve drops out from under you, stay cool. You’ll never be able to steer a roller coaster. Some riders feel as if death is staring them right in the face. Keep Smiling!

There will always be twists and turns in the future. Most of them will be great ones. Think about all the good times, because they will return. You determine YOUR paycheck in this exciting business. You NEED a Sales Mind-Set to become a real sales person. Sales people have to understand the inner guts of sales. Selling Ford cars is great. It’s just as easy to fall in love with selling Jaguars! The commission on a Rolex probably buys more food than a LOT of watches. Get my drift? Mind-Set Sells. You’ll never make that trip to paradise if your commissions and number of sales, won’t even buy a ticket.
