I’ve been lucky enough to have seen and written about lots of different types of bingo games. I mean you can imagine the stuff I’ve seen in my day. Chicken Sh*t bingo is a wildly popular variant where chickens will run around in their cages and there’s a bingo-style mat with matching numbers placed beneath them. I’ve decided to take my bingo show on the road – exploring the game’s richness across different cultures. At Ginny’s you can gather around the bar, drink a beer, eat some peanuts and dance with your cowgirl. It’s rootin tootin entertainment as it should be.  At 4pm you’re likely to see Dale Watson performing and there’s plenty old trucks in the lot.

But there’s another famous character gracing the establishment – Sissy the chicken. • The 2011 Cricket World Cup with India emerging as the ODI champions
• The 2011 Golf Masters championship with Charl Schwartzel winning the tournament
• The 2011 French Open championship with Rafael Nadal of Spain hoisting the trophy and Li Na of China winning for the ladies
• The 2011 Wimbledon Championship (my favourite) was won by Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitová
• In 2011 Floyd Mayweather stopped Victor Ortiz in grand fashion – retaining his status of undisputed champion
• In 2011 Vladimir Klitschko TKO’d 10 Samuel Peter

And naturally there are lots more stories on the sporting front that we can report on – all of them super! In the entertainment arena, 2011 saw lots of news making its rounds.

• The much-awaited Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released and it shattered all box office records with $1,328,111,219  in worldwide takings. This was the final installment of the hugely successful BRITISH adventure series (I’m a big fan of Harry Potter!!!)
• The Top 5 movies – by gross box-office takings – include the following: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, The Hangover Part 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
• The 83^rd Academy Awards (Oscars) was a glittering affair – as usual – and Colin Firth in The King’s Speech won the Oscar for the best actor and Natalie Portman won the Oscar for best actress in Black Swan. Other top films included: Inception, Alice in Wonderland, The Social Network, The Wolf Man and Toy Story 3
• Two & A Half Men may have lost Charlie Sheen, but it got Ashton Kutcher in his place – a great move for fans of this hilarious show!

The biggest bingo jackpots of 2011 proved a whole lot more challenging to find – so we settled for a sampling several notable bingo jackpots and the lucky players (if available) who won the jackpots.

• Catman won £995 on 13/11/2011, anitasboyz won £988 on 10/12/2011 and moira12345 won £983 on 12/11/2011 at Ladbrokes Bingo. At 888ladies bingo both spiritnessi and armo won 3 wins each, £100 going to spiritnessi and £270 to armo. Other winners included chelseagurl with £60. But here’s the biggest winner that we’ve found – it’s tough to verify the year though: A lucky winner hit a whopping £430,900 on the progressive Lucky Ladies 88 bingo jackpot at Bet365. Watch this space – there are bound to be lots of big bingo winners in times to come!!
