Why hello there! Today’s master cleanse was just what I needed to kick start my week. Towards the end of the day, I really lacked energy when I went for my workout but that’s to be expected when your running on no fuel. As mentioned previously, I wouldn’t do this for the full 10 days… I wouldn’t be able to function! And by the end of the night my brain felt like it was moving a little slower… you know when you keep going back and forth to the kitchen but you can’t remember what the hell you’re looking for? Any how, it was a fun little experiment for my monday-one-day-diet and kudos to anyone that has completed the cleanse!

Clearly I’m not the only one who would struggle to complete the full cleanse…

Monday-One-Day-Diet

A junk food filled weekend has its merits but it tends to leave me feeling a little sluggish. I like to start my week off on a positive note, with healthy eating and a solid workout. I am a self-professed fad dieter, constantly researching the next biggest thing. I have a tendency to become completely enamored with late night workout infomercials, ordering their products during the wee hours of the morning.

There is one person whose infomercials have never impressed me. Here’s why;

Hahahaha… that’s a classic.

While everyone knows the best way to live a healthy lifestyle is to consistently eat healthy and workout while treating yourself to the odd bowl of ice cream or morsel of chocolate ON OCCASION, I have yet to master this lifestyle. This brings me to what I like to call my Monday-one-day diet.

Today I will be trying out the Master Cleanse. This cleanse has been around forever and the best part is it costs virtually nothing to do. While you probably reap the full benefits of the cleanse by following it for the recommended 10 days (and who could do that), I will be doing it to kick start my week with a quick system refresh. Wish me luck!

What are your thoughts on fad diets? Ever tried any?

The Dark Knight Rises… Popcorn Falls!

I was soooo beyond excited to see the Dark Knight Rises since the Dark Knight is one of my favorite all time movies.

If you care to read my thoughts on it here is My Review!

I could ramble on as I tend to do, but clearly I don’t review a movie like a normal person. To be honest my judgement may have been off because I was very VERY distracted and offended by something. And so, this brings me to my Thing Of The Day:

Movie popcorn is just the worst! For starters, two IMAX tickets plus snacks is about $75 – $100 (if you’re really hungry). I used to look forward to movie popcorn more than any other savory snack out there… half the time I went to the movies, it was just for the popcorn. If I was at the mall I use to pick up a bag just to walk around with… that’s how delicious it was! Now, if you want freshly popped kernels they don’t add any salt. You want salty popcorn??? Sure they can do that but then it’s stale! I have literally circled every theater in Calgary multiple times hoping that at least one of them will have the popcorn I long for… the popcorn I remember… the popcorn I would pay $100 dollars for by itself. My point is stop ruining my movie experience with your terrible low grade snack. Bring back the light fluffy, salty, buttery snack that amplified your movie going experience. Cineplex, expect a letter.

I also can’t mention the movie without expressing my sadness and condolences for the shooting victims and their families at the Colorado showing of Dark Knight Rises. It seems that the list of places to be fearful of going to, or things to be fearful of doing continues to grow and its getting out of hand. RIP to all the victims.

I’ve been waiting a long time for DJ Benzi to put out 2012′s summer mix tape and after weeks and weeks of checking the website it finally arrived. Unfortunately, there are one too many throwbacks in this mix combined with songs that aren’t old enough to miss yet… like M.I.A’s Paper Planes. There’s also a fair amount of boy band shit which I can’t even get into for fun and quite a few repeat songs from other mixes.

Normally, the summer edition mix tapes get me right excited to flail & dance around the house, in the car, at the gym, before the bar… etc. etc. There are a few tracks though that got me all dancy-pants on the elliptical this morning such as Calvin Harris & Example: We’ll Be Coming Back.

So if you decide to download this mix, I’d get the tracked out version so you can skip through some of the shit… but hey, that’s just my opinion.

I’ll keep checking back for new mixes though… I’m a faithful Benzi follower.

Today’s thing is brought to you by man and his bestest pal in the world… the dog.

A big chested small wasted man and his lil pug reminded me how exciting it is to see people who look like their dogs… really makes my day! Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera out in time to snap a picture of the well matched duo so I’m going to suggest that you head over to the dog park and people/dog watch. That’s what I’m doing tomorrow… for realz!

INTERESTING FACT: If you and your dog don’t look similar they are 90% more likely to not like you… no joke. So if your dog is eating your shoes, pissing in the house or biting you, it’s probably because they think your different looking… on the homely side of things. My advice to you; if you’re in the market to purchase a lil friend, be sure that your hair, body shape or at least personalities are similar. Otherwise you’ll have a mess of a house and not so friendly furry creature on your hands.

This is Ringo… unfortunately he lives in Ireland… also unfortunately he’s not my dog. He loves me more than he’s ever loved anyone before though… you wanna know why? Because our hair matches, and we both really love to cuddle.
