Call for Sessions for the 2014 BIO International Convention is open September 5 - October 3, 2013. New in 2014, BIO will be offering two categories of programming - tracks and specialty forums.
Golden Rice
Recently, protestors from two anti-GMO groups vandalized a field of genetically modified (GM) rice produced by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The rice is being developed as part of a humanitarian effort to reduce vitamin A deficiency (mostly affecting women and children) that causes sickness, blindness, and even death.
