Play an instrument~

If you play an instrument, pick it up and just play. Play repetitious scales or random notes over and over again, relax and get into a meditative state.  It’s amazing what pops into your head.

Get Fido~

If you have a dog, or not, go for nice brisk walk or run.  This too gets your creative juices flowing.

Talk~

Just start talking and keep talking about random things. For example, if I think of my child hood, I ‘ll think of an event, what I was doing and who was there.  This may lead to you thinking of what those people are up to now or what they overcame in life.  Maybe it leads you to an amazing recipe you want to share; or the best way to get straight A’s in college, or how to overcome divorce.  Get a voice recorder and record everything for review later.

Just write~

Just put pen to paper and start writing.  Write whatever pops into your head, it doesn’t matter what it is.  Just the act of writing can help stimulate creative ideas.

Write just for fun~ Creative Writing

Think of something you want to write about, something fun that you enjoy.  This will give you a good vibe about writing and may get you back on track.

Write your heading first~

A great way to start is by writing your headline first.  Think of what it is you need to write about and come up with an eye catching headline.  This can, in turn, give you ideas for how to write followed by what to write.

Write out a list~

Take your headline and make a list of the major points you need to address this will take all that is running around in your head and make it not quite so scary to deal with.

Go fishing~

Some times you just have to say what the heck and take a break.  Just walk away and when you come back you will be fresh and full of ideas.  Don’t forget to take your voice recorder just incase you get an amazing idea.

Internet Marketing is really as simple as marketing ANYTHING on the Internet. Most Internet Marketers promote information products. We are in the Information Age. Where do you go when you need to find the answers to questions? Probably not Webster, an Encyclopedia or the Phone book…

More than likely, you go to a search engine such as Google, AOL, Yahoo, MSN or one of the many others.

You can also market products, services, affiliate products, network marketing or mlms, pretty much anything. You can even find a date online now, however, be careful…What we are going to concentrate on is marketing information or info-marketing.

After spending a tremendous amount of money and time on e-book after e-book after e-book on learning the art (if you call it that) of mastering the online marketing smorgasbord, I finally got it.

If you are feeling like…Wow…there is so much information that’s available. So, where in the heck do I begin? My head is spinning trying to absorb all of this, I totally know what you are going through.

If you are reading this, you are more than likely searching for a way to make extra money via the internet. My question to you is: Do you need a little guidance?

Are you one of the many out there who wants to know how to meet “tweeps” and bring them home to your blog?  I know there can’t be too many people out there who haven’t heard of Twitter yet, but just in case you haven’t I’ll give you a quick description of it.

Twitter is basically two things; a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send and receive messages, which are called tweets.   These tweets can be no longer than 150 characters in length and will be posted on the home page of anyone who is following you.  You can read them like news updates or interact with the people who are tweeting, just like you would on any other social network.

Now back to picken em up and bringin em home… Are you one of the many who thinks that Twitter is a silly time waster?  If you are, you may be right because for some it is exactly that.  It is easy to log on to Twitter and magically lose time, while you enjoy their tweets about their family with a link to their family webpage; tweeting about a tornado in Texas with a link to CNN; or they are tweeting about something interesting they found with a link to it.  So, if you start reading tweets and going to their links and commenting … reading and going to their links…and reading…well you know what I’m saying.  Quite a few hours could go by before you know it, though it may be enjoyable it is not very productive.

So, why would you even want to use Twitter?  You should want to use Twitter because it is a great resource for generating followers to your Blog.  Twitter is much more than a traffic generator by far, but in this post I am trying to focus only on the aspect of connecting with people through twitter and bringing them over to your blog.  Just think what kind of traffic you could generate with a list of Twitter followers in the thousands.  I know there are plenty of people using Twitter out there, generating more traffic and getting better responses to their add campaigns than with any other platform.  Some people even claim, and I have no reason to doubt them, they make $1.00 a day for every follower they have on Twitter.  It is mind boggling to think that in a matter of seconds hundreds or thousands of people could be reading what you just wrote! Now, I know the thought of this is exciting but let’s get to the process of how to use Twitter as a venue to meet people and genere traffic to your blog.

There are many ways you can generate followers on Twitter but I recommend you do a search from within Twitter for people who are talking about what you are interested in, so you can hold fun and interesting conversation with them on an ongoing basis.  Twitter is, as I said, a social network and if you think of social networks the same way you think of a party or social gathering you will understand that people who go to these sites don’t want to be pitched to about your great new business opportunity, they want to laugh, hold great conversations, and have a good time.  As Perry Belcher says in “3 Big Ways To Monetize Social Media,Without Pissing People off” think of Twitter as a party and if you want people to get to know you better invite them to your home.  I don’t mean invite them over to your house but bring them to a place that represents who you are, your blog.

If someone is reading your tweets and they think you have a pretty good personality or like your view on a particular subject matter, they may want to get to know you better.  If they want to get to know you better they will look on your home page and in your profile for a link to another site.  This site should be something that represents who you are whether it’s a link to Facebook, MySpace or your blog.  Now Facebook and MySpace are social networks too but you can put anything personal about yourself there that you could put in a blog.  So, I’d say it’s pretty safe to say that those are decent alternatives to a blog, although a blog would be best because you can design it however you like.  It’s like the difference between buying a house because it’s what’s available and building a house to your designs and taste.

Let’s look at your home (blog) and discuss what it is that your new acquaintances or friends are going to see.  Well if you build your blog to the same standards as you would build and design your home, how would people feel when they go in your blog/home?  Hopefully, they will feel comfortable and enjoy what you have to offer them.  If they look around they should see that you have a passion for tortoises or fine art by the way that you decorated your blog/home, and if they want to know more about the tortoise you have on your mantle they don’t expect to have to pay to find out.  I also, wouldn’t imagine you would stop right there and pull out your catalog and try to sell them one, meanwhile you get a commission off of the sale.  That is pretty funny when you think about it.  What I am trying to say is that you should bring people to your blog and your blog should represent you, your values, be interesting, entertaining and don’t try to sell them something as soon as they enter.

So, you now have your new friends at your home they like it, they like you and everything is hunky dory.  Do you break out the white board now and try to explain your compensation plan?  Ah…. No! Normally, at some point during your little get together the people who are new to your home will usually ask you what you do for a living.  You tell them what you do and if they are interested they’ll ask you to tell them more.  This is the same as having a link on your blog to an offer of some kind.  You are not throwing it at them or shoving it down their throat, it’s discrete and non-intrusive.  If they want to know more about it they can take their own initiative to do so.

This, I believe, is the best use of Twitter to grow your business or followership to your blog.  You can be productive and have a great time while growing your business.  It’s not to say that this is exactly easy, it does take some time.  But if you take a couple hours a day or even just 30 minutes every day finding new people to follow and interacting with current followers, you will see your list grow and grow and grow.

To Change Your Password

To change your password in WordPress v1.2:

1. In the Admin Panel, go to PROFILE
2. Scroll down to the bottom and type in the new password in the two boxes provided
3. Click the UPDATE PROFILE button

Your new password takes effect immediately.

To change your password in WordPress v1.5:

1. In the Admin Panel, go to USERS
2. From the “Your Profile” tab, scroll to the bottom and type in the new password in the two boxes provided.
3. Click the UPDATE PROFILE button

Your new password takes effect immediately.

To change your password in WordPress v2.0:

1. In the Admin Panel, go to USERS (or Profile)
2. From the “Your Profile” tab, scroll down to the Update Your Password section and type in a new password in the two boxes provided.
3. Click the UPDATE PROFILE button

Your new password takes effect immediately.

Through the automatic emailer

If you know your username and the email account in your profile, you can use the “lost password” feature of Wordpress.

• Go to your Wordpress Login page (something like http://yoursite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php)
• Click on lost password
• You will be taken to a page to put in some details. Enter your user name and the email address on file for that account.
• Wait happily as your new password is emailed to you.
• Once you get your new password, login and change it to something you can remember on your profile page.

Note for 1.2.1 Users

There is a bug in 1.2.1 where the email you get includes an incorrectly encoded password. Your email will look similar to this:

The fix for this is to upgrade your site to 1.2.2

Through MySQL Command Line

1. Get an MD5 hash of your password.
   • Visit md5 Hash Generator, or…
   • Create a key with Python. or…
   • On Unix: echo -n <password> | md5sum
2. “mysql -u root -p” (log in to MySQL)
3. enter your mysql password
4. “use (name-of-database)” (select WordPress database)
5. “show tables;” (you’re looking for a table name with “users” at the end)
6. “SELECT ID, user_login, user_pass FROM (name-of-table-you-found)” (this gives you an idea of what’s going on inside)
7. “UPDATE (name-of-table-you-found) SET user_pass="(MD5-string-you-made)" WHERE ID = (id#-of-account-you-are-reseting-password-for)” (actually changes the password)
8. “SELECT ID, user_login, user_pass FROM (name-of-table-you-found)” (confirm that it was changed)
9. (type Control-D, to exit mysql client)

Note if you have a recent version of MySQL (version 5.x?) you can have MySQL compute the MD5 hash for you.

1. Skip step 1. above.
2. Do the following for step 7. instead.
   • “UPDATE (name-of-table-you-found) SET user_pass = MD5('"(new-password)"') WHERE ID = (id#-of-account-you-are-reseting-password-for)” (actually changes the password)

Through phpMyAdmin

This article is for those who have phpMyAdmin access to their database. Note: use phpMyAdmin at your own risk. If you doubt your ability to use it, seek further advice. WordPress is not responsible for loss of data.

Begin by logging into phpMyAdmin and click databases.

• A list of databases will appear. Click your WordPress database.

• All the tables in your database will appear. If not, click Structure.
• Look for wp_users.
• Click on the icon for browse or structure.

The next screen lists the fields within the wp_users table.

• On user_login click browse and find the ID number associated with your login. Remember it.
• Go back to the wp_users table.
• On the user_pass field, click browse and find the ID number associated with your login.

• Click edit.
• Next to the ID number is a long list of numbers and letters.
• Select and delete these and type in your new password.
• Type in the password you want to use. Just type it in normally, but remember, it is case-sensitive.
• In this example, the new password will be ‘rabbitseatcarrots’
• Once you have done that, click the dropdown menu indicated, and select MD5 from the menu.

• Check that your password is actually correct, and that MD5 is in the box.

• Click the ‘Go’ button to the bottom right.
• Test the new password on the login screen. If it doesn’t work, check that you’ve followed these instructions exactly.

Using the Emergency Password Reset Script

If the other solutions listed above won’t work, then try the Emergency Password Reset Script. It is not a Plugin. It is a PHP script.

Warnings

1. Requires you know the administrator username.
2. It updates the administrator password and sends an email to the administrator’s email address.
3. If you don’t receive the email, the password is still changed.
4. You do not need to be logged in to use it. If you could login, you wouldn’t need the script.
5. Place this in the root of your WordPress installation. Do not upload this to your WordPress Plugins directory.
6. Delete the script when you are done for security reasons.

Directions for use

1. Download the script from Village Idiot WordPress Emergency Password Script.
2. Unpack the downloaded zip file.
3. Upload the file emergency.php to the root of your WordPress installation (the same directory that contains wp-config.php).
4. In your browser, open http://example.com/emergency.php.
5. As instructed, enter the administrator username (usually admin) and the new password, then click Update Options. A message is displayed noting the changed password. An email is sent to the blog administrator with the changed password information.
6. Delete emergency.php from your server when you are done. Do not leave it on your server as someone else could use it to change your password.

I’m pretty excited to introduce to you Robin Collins, a woman who is near and dear to my heart. Sally and I met her a while back at a seminar being held for network marketers. When I first saw her on video with her husband Lee, and Simon Leung, advertising for the Rock Platinum Show, I thought “wow, these guys look like they are having a blast” and “how I would love to be that woman!” I liked how they presented themselves, the show, and I felt a connection with how they were portraying their lives ~ “living the life of a Rock Star”. This amazing woman is way more than what I expected her to be, and as I get to know her better I am continually impressed with her style, temperament, and total way with which she conducts business.

Now, I can’t talk about Robin’s business without including her husband Lee. Together, they have built a strong and viable business from the comfort of their own home, having done so for over 10 years now. They are very good at what they do. Together they have built a strong and viable presence as leaders in the marketing of information products. As a result of their great success, they have an amazing coaching program with a wide range of coaching options. It is possible for you to have them assess and define your project, giving you the guidance and tools you will need to help you move forward in all aspects of your Internet marketing business.

They also do a crazy amount of joint venture (JV) brokering, locating affiliates/and or JV partners for your particular product launch or re launch. What they bring to the table for someone new to internet marketing is something to consider while building your business plan or model.

I believe Robin to be instrumental in the success of their business, as I know she has been above reproach in any job she puts her hands on. Once this woman sinks her teeth into a project, watch out, it’s gonna soar! I don’t know where she gets her stamina, this woman is like the energizer bunny; staying up late at events making sure everyone has a good time, at the same time working on future JVs, then getting up at the crack of dawn, (or never going to bed) and putting on an amazing next day to her event. She is truly amazing!

What I truly love and respect about this women is even though she is now in the place of power and positioning among the who’s who in the Internet marketing industry, she will still treat you with the respect and courtesy you give her. If you show her that you have the desire and are one proven to take action, there is nothing this woman won’t extend to you.

Robin is an inspiration to me because we have similar backgrounds. We are both Midwestern girls, we were both in the Air Force, have had many of the same experiences and she does what all of us want to do. She is having her cake and eating it too. Her whole business is structured with their family in mind.

Robin and Lee believe that “Money is great, only in a balance of Family and Business can you create true Success.” Now that’s what I’m talkin bout.  Whether you are married, have kids, or single you can’t have true success without the balance between business and home.

iGoogle gadgets

1. Blogger Dashboard:  Allows easy access to the Blogger DashBoard by inserting the ID of your blog extracting links from your group. This is a great way to edit your post, set up or edit your blog directly from your iGoogle.

2.  Blogger Post: This one is similar to QuickPress available in Wordpress and it allows you to easily create your blog posts form iGoogle Home.

3.  Photobucket Gadget: For uploading images to PhotoBucket. The features include:
Uploading pictures from your PC                                       
Browsing your photobucket albums
Getting the image URLs
all these features are available without access to Photobucket.com.
