Charles W. Jones grew up in the small town Shoshoni, WY, and he managed to break free from its grasp with his soul intact. Growing up in a small town scared him to death most of the time. It’s very dark at night – really dark. To top it off, it is full of ghosts; well, that’s what Charles thought when he was kid. Turns out it was just the constant wind blowing dirt and tumbleweeds. Two of Charles’ novels are set in Shoshoni, Dreamwalker: The Second Plain and HOME A Novel.
There isn’t a part of the horror genre Charles doesn’t like. He likes it creepy, filled with suspense, or even brutal with intense torture scenes. His favorite horror movies have always been the slasher movies; give him the gore. Clive Barker is Charles’ greatest influence, but is also inspired by Lewis Carroll, Stephen King, and Frank Beddor. Real life is a large contributor to his writing, where he finds beauty in the most unexpected places.
Music has always been a great contributor to Charles’ life, by means of not only entertainment, but personal soundtrack. When he writes, he listens to different types of music to set the mood of the scene he is writing. Eurythmics will always be at the top of his playlist, but many other bands and genres occupy his mind.
Never judge things by their appearance, even carpet bags…
I’m visited daily by people who want me to tell their story.
After seeing this movie a few times, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I actually don’t mind watching it, and probably will again. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a B-Movie, though I don’t know the budget and am too lazy […]
I always get nervous when I send out my work for review. I never know how others are going to take it. When I received an email from Reader’s Favorite that a review had posted on their site for darkness is coming, I sweated a little, my stomach churned, and I didn’t click the link […]
I always wanted to be a surgeon, but the boards wouldn’t pass me. Can you guess why? – The Dutch Businessman Amsterdam vacation, mad-cap adventure like National Lampoons or maybe even Porky’s, which is cool, it gives an extra layer of reality. Dude tells them about a Hostel in Slovakia where they won’t have problems […]
The newest member of the team. He is a quick learner, and an eager to get his paws dirty. His primary roles include, ensuring Bella and Melanie are getting their exercise, making sure food is played with before eating, and red-dot chaser. He likes to make sure everyone know he's doing something or has entered a room by giving a chirp. Patrick debuted in my short story Church Hill.
A.K.A. "the cutest kitty in the world" comes from the eclectic world of a trailer park. She brings great experience of "licky lick", especially while I'm writing when it seems my hand is the dirtiest. Bella has a cameo appearance in Circus Tarot.
Melanie joined the team in 2011. She is the expert in psychosis, and keeps us on our toes waiting for the next bizarre episode. She believes walking on the floor is for humans. Another of her specialties is sunbathing, and rolling on the concrete patio floor.
Sean made sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do, and made sure everyone was happy and safe. He had a large role in Hydrangeas on the Lanai with a surprise. After 14 years of dedicated service, Sean took the journey into the light. We will always cherish him, and miss him greatly everyday.
Cassie was the first member of the team, joining me in 1992. She contemplated the woes of the world while basking in the sun, and giving her feedback to me when she didn't think my ideas were the best. Cassie had a feature role in Dreamwalker: The Second Plain. In Fall 2008, Cassie followed her path across the Rainbow Bridge.
