Nowadays, most of us have multiple email IDs. We may have different contacts on different IDs. And hence when we go online in messengers for chatting we prefer to sign into multiple IDs simultaneously. This is possible in Yahoo Messenger using a registry tweak and we can do the same in Live Messenger using the Polygamy Patch. But, what about GTalk? Well, for Gtalk you can do so in an easier way. Here’s how you do it:

Once you install Google Talk (GTalk) you should see a shortcut to launch Gtalk on your desktop.

Now, right click on the Gtalk shortcut on your desktop and go to ‘Properties’.

Under the ‘Shortcut’ Tab, go to ‘target’ and change its contents to the following: (See above pic)
“C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex

Once done click on ‘Apply’ and then ‘ok’.

Click on the shortcut to launch GTalk. Log into your first ID. Once you are logged in, click the shortcut again to log into another ID. Voila! You are now signed into multiple accounts.

Having read the title of this post you may be wondering if it’s really possible. Yeah! It is possible. Steve posted an article on Safe calculator. As the word suggests, it’s a calculator with a safe which is capable of storing and keeping your files and folders safe. The safe calculator looks just like the default calculator in Windows and in fact it can even perform calculations just like any other calculator. When you start Safe Calculator it will look just like the below pic.

The default code/ pin for the safe is ‘123’. So, to unlock you need to type ‘123’ in the calculator and press on ‘MS’, now the calculator will enter into safe mode. Here you can change the default pin if you want by clicking on ‘New pin’.

Now click on ‘+’ and then ‘=’ to confirm and enter into the safe to browse and choose the files you want to hide. Click on ‘Store’ once you’re done.

You can also have a look at different freewares for hiding/ encrypting private data and files.

With the growth in internet, malwares are increasing too. Nowadays most of the malwares use the ‘autorun.inf’ file to infect computers and most of us are completely unaware of it. This is usually in the case of pen drives, hard disk drives, etc. When a device is infected with a malware and an ‘autorun.inf’ file is dropped, the shell menu is normally modified to execute the malware whenever the unsuspecting user double-clicks the infected drive.

I came across a small program- Autorun Eater which allows you to get rid of such autorun files. It removes suspicious ‘autorun.inf‘ files even before the user attempts to access the drive. These files are auto-backup’ed in case of false positives. I’m pretty pleased with this program as its user friendly and quite effective too. Once you start it, it is placed in the taskbar. You can right click on it and you should get a menu like the one showed above. Choose the drive you want to scan and it should start scanning.

It also helps you to get rid of task manager disabled error, regedit disabled, folder hide option disabled, etc. Just go to registry fix and under it you can choose to fix any of the problems mentioned. You can also try out Combo Fix which is a great software which allows you to get rid of all sorts of malware.

Sometimes we need an editing tool in order to simply cut a MP3 files. But we don’t find the right tool to do so. And even if we do find one, then it turns out to be expensive. I came across good freeware- MP3 Cutter which allows you to cut mp3 files with ease. The file can be saved once you cut it. It also retains the same quality as the full song did. This software is really helpful if you are making MP3 ringtone for your mobile.

Here are 5 easy steps in order to cut a mp3 file:
Click open> do a MP3 search> choose the MP3 song.
Move the slider to appropriate position and click Mark Start.
Again move the slider to choose end point and click Mark End.
You may now preview selected part by clicking on Play Selected.
Finally, simply save it by clicking on Save.

Stickykeys is a feature of Windows operating system. It allows the user to press a modifier key, such as Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or the Windows key, and have it remain active until another key is pressed. If you play games then you might have had an annoying experience with this feature while pressing a key like ‘shift’ for five times.

But don’t you worry, you can get rid of this feature by disabling it. If you want to disable the Sticky Keys feature then follow the below steps:

Firstly, click on the ‘Ease of Access Center’ link in the Sticky Keys pop up.
In the next window click on ‘Make the keyboard easier to use’
In the next window click ‘Setup Sticky Keys‘
In the final window uncheck the box ‘Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times’.
That’s it! It shouldn’t annoy you anymore.

In Windows XP, StickyKeys can also be disabled in Control Panel> Accessibility Options under the Keyboard tab by unchecking Use StickyKeys.

Now that you have dealt with StickKeys you can have a look at ‘Create and Manage Keyboard Shortcuts to different Applications’.

I came across a freeware- NTFS Undelete which allows you to recover deleted files. It recovers files directly from hard drive, and it will work even if you empty the Recycle Bin. It will not only recovers deleted and erased files from an NTFS file system but it also recovers from other file systems like FAT and FAT32.

Before using this software you need to know that whenever you delete a file, its content physically remains intact on the media, but the occupied space becomes marked as free. Now whenever you save a new file, it may overwrite the contents of the deleted file. So, once you realize that you have a deleted a particular and you want to recover it then make sure that no application writes to the partition where the deleted file is located since every new file (even a small one) may overwrite the deleted file.

The software is pretty user friendly. You have three tabs- browse, search, and recover marked files. On the left hand side you can select the location you want to perform a search. After a detailed search the software displays a list of deleted files. Under the ‘recover marked files’ tab you can recover the ones you need.

You can also have a look at other free recovery softwares like DiskDigger and Recuva.

I came across a small app known as GTalk Auto Reply which allows you to set an automated message in Google Talk when you’re away. This automated message is displayed whenever any of your friends sends you a message.

Using GTalk Autoreply:
It’s quite small in size (around 1MB) and has an extremely user friendly interface. After downloading GTalk Autoreply install it and run it. You’ll see a box like the one shown above. Enter your username and password. Type an auto reply message and click on ‘Save and enable Autoreply’. Now whenever your friend sends you a message, the automated message you entered earlier is displayed.

Some of us like to add out pet names to our social networking profiles. But, if you’re using Facebook then it wasn’t actually possible to do so. But you can do it now by going to Settings. The alternate name added is displayed in brackets next to your actual name.

The alternate name need not be in English, it can be in any other language. For instance; if you are Chinese then you enter a Chinese name, it will be shown in brackets. Now, when people search your profile, they may enter any of the two names. Both the names will be displayed while searching. This is quite helpful and helps us to connect with more friends. But note that, when you enter a new alternate name it takes 24 hours to display.

I just installed iPhone OS 3.0 on my first generation iPhone using redsnOw. I’m quite pleased with the features of the OS 3.0. The most useful feature is the search feature and the copy and paste feature. The SMS app has also improved a lot, landscape mode is included. But unfortunately I couldn’t install any cracked apps as the mobile installation 2.2.1 patch which we used in 2.2.1 didn’t work here. But, I found an easier way to install cracked apps. Here’s how you do it:

Firstly, Go to ‘Cydia’.

Click on ‘Manage’ tab on the bottom.

Now click on ‘Sources’.

Click on ‘Edit’ and then on the left hand side click on ‘Add’. A box will pop up asking you to enter a url source as seen in the screenshot above. Type ‘http://cydia.hackulo.us’ (no quotes) and click on ‘Add Source’. It will take a few seconds as Cydia will update your sources.

Once it’s done, go to Sources> Hackulo.us> AppSync (the first one in the screenshot above) and install it. This is a small app which patches the mobileinstallation file.

Voila! You should be now able to install cracked apps on the iPhone OS 3.0. Connect your phone to your computer and install any cracked app in iTunes.

It’s been a few days since the iPhone OS 3.0 released. All iPhone users were very eager to jailbreak and unlock their iPhones with the OS 3.0. But, unfortunately the Pwnage Tool which was out could unlock iPhone 2G only on Mac and didn’t support Windows. But, luckily today RedsnOw is available for Windows as well as Mac users. You don’t need to wait for the Quickpwn tool to unlock your iPhone 2G, you can unlock it using the ResnOw tool. Here’s a detailed procedure that I found on tech-exclusive:

Stuff required:

RedsnOw 0.7.1 for Windows | RedsnOw 0.7 for Mac
iPhone OS 3.0 for iPhone 2G
Bootloader Files – bl39.bin & bl46.bin

How to Unlock iPhone 2G using RedsnOw?

1. Firstly, create a folder on desktop and name it as ‘RedsnOw’.
2. Move the above downloaded files into this folder.
3. Now, connect your iPhone using the USB cable.
4. Start RedsnOw, browse the .ipsw firmware file from the folder and click on ‘Next’ to proceed.
5. If you want to unlock the iPhone then select ‘Unlock’ option from the window. Make sure you also select ‘Install Cydia’. Once done, click on ‘Next’ to continue.
6. A bootloader window will appear, perform the instructions given on the screen.
7. Once you finish with the above process switch off the device and click ‘Next’ to start with DFU mode. Put your phone in DFU mode by using screen instructions. (Hold the power and home button simultaneously and connect the cable. You need to hold them for 10 secs and then release the power button while holding the home button. Hold until the phone enters into DFU mode.)
8. The redsnOw tool will automatically start the unlocking procedure. Just wait for few minutes to get your iPhone unlocked.

The usual way of hiding or unhiding files is by going to File Menu> Tools> Folder Options> View> uncheck or check the settings show hidden files and folders. Well, this is little bit time consuming. To make things easier there’s a small extension- Hidden Files toggle which adds the option to the right click menu. It appears on the Desktop and folder backgrounds.

The option gives you the ability to toggle the display of hidden files on and off. It’s pretty useful if you frequently change this setting. And moreover most of us find it more convenient to do it by right clicking instead of navigating through the options menus in Windows Explorer.

Installation:
Download the installer from below.
Run the installer and follow the simple on-screen directions.

Download Hidden Files Toggle Extension (XP, Vista, Wind 7 compatible)

Most of us listen to music online. One of my favorite sites is playlist.com. You too might have listened to songs on playlist.com. Well, the drawback is that you can only listen to songs on this site but you cannot download them. But there’s a little trick. When you play a particular file it actually downloads it! The downloaded file is stored in the temporary folder which later gets deleted. So the trick is pretty simple, first you need to clear your browsers temporary folder, go to playlist.com and play a song. Check in the temporary folder once the song buffers fully. You can simply copy the file to your hard disk. And later add the extension .mp3 to it, it should work perfectly. This is what I do in my Opera browser. The same trick applies to other online music sites which allow you to listen music online but don’t allow you to download.

Well, I found a video on YouTube which explains you the procedure in detail, it may vary a little bit but the concept behind it remains the same. You can check it out below:

GTA IV is one of the best multiplayer games available at present. I play almost every day on my pc. But the PC version of the game is more prone to cheaters. These cheaters pop in and ruin the whole gaming fun. Recently a cheater came in and started hacking, he increased the cash to about $5000000. This was ridiculous as the game changed and it was team deathmatch and there was no way that the other team could make it on top. Using the voting system is a waste of time, the hackers don’t even get kicked. So, to get rid of such cheaters there’s only one way. It’s by using the net kicker. Let’s speak more on it.

The Netkicker is a GTA IV pc mod which allows the creator of the server of a multiplayer game to instantly kick cheaters. You don’t need to worry about voting for kicks. I came across this tool in gta forums.

Using this tool:
Download Netkicker and ASI loader from below and extract its contents to GTA folder.

Start the game and press F5 in the game to activate it. Then at the bottom of the screen you’ll see your player name, to move to next player press F7 key and to move to previous player press F6 key, and when you find your culprit F8 button propels them from the server.

NOTE: You need to have 1.0.3 patch installed.

This mod is a must for all multiplayer server creators on GTA IV. Together we all can get rid of cheaters and enjoy a good gaming experience.
