For people who like antique furniture, I found this great store called "Belle Epoque Antiques"

26 Stanmore Rd, Sydney ph: 9572 6672. They specilaise in restoring antique furniture,

and sell really useful antiques. Next is a wonderful paper shop called Amazing Paper,

184 Enmore rd, 9519 8237, Sydney, which I visit frequently. They do

custom stationery and sell unusual papers made from banana leaf and silk.

The PYD Design Markets. have come around again . I will be selling my range along with my friend Kristen . It is part of yearly Dank St Festival.
On Saturday it will be more about the shopping, such as homewares, fabrics , fashion accessories etc. Sunday is shopping , and live music with lots of food stalls . Good spot to get your Xmas presies sorted, and just chillout .Hope you can make it!

For anyone who is interested in decorating with imagination. I would highly recommend you go take alook at the Country Trader . They specilize in eclectic, and stylish pieces for your home. It is situated in the PYD Building amoung another 12 great design showrooms for interiors. Whilst you are there go see Content and I was taken by Exhibit . They stock collectable glasswear from Italian company Salviati. GORGEOUS!!!! and there is lots more, plus if you are peckish and need lunch or a snack stop at the YUMMY! Patisse .It is on the ground floor.

If you live around the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney, here are some more hidden treasures for shoppping. First is "The Frock Shop ", designer clothing at a great price. Pic of shop below.
Second is a fun shop for collectors of antiques, called Retro Antiques . Takes you back and is classic. Bye for now.

For the creatively minded, here are some great local, East Sydney shops I like to visit. First off, is a great book shop called Lamella Art and Books 748 Bourke St- 9319 2598. It is packed with cutting edge books on visual design. Next is Anibou 726 Bourke St 9319 0655, they sell lovely high end yummy furniture.
Last but not least is Spence and Lyda 16 Forster St Surry Hills 92126747. It is packed with new 2009 designer homeware pieces . Just stunning ! A MUST SEE!

On my easter break I went to the Blue Monntains, and dropped into the Michael White

I am loving the sounds of the birds at the moment, particularly the bull bull bird. Chirps every morning outside my window. My first pick this week is inspired by the bull bull and it is of a delightful red cardinal. So red and chubby. They live in the northern USA. The second picture is off a "timeless place". Above are pictures from the Rocks Designer Markets. We were there Saturday and Sunday last week-end. We had a great few days, very well organized with quality products to buy. I meet some more creative people, lots of visitors from overseas and Australia.
As it was such a success bkhdesign products will be available through the Rocks 1st , 3rd and 4th Sunday of the every month and starting up at Kirribilli Markets every 2nd Sunday of month. Beginning 8th March.

Continuing on from last weeks post. Here are more local shops that are worth a visit "Ici et la", Mondo Luce and bird . I also found a new local art gallery called Urban Uprising. It kicked off with the infamous London graffiti artist Banksy. One to watch out for.

For people who are markets shoppers, bkhdesign will be at the Rocks Designer Markets this week-end and most Sundays from now on. I will keep everyone posted on exact dates. If you have never been to the Rocks it is worth a visit. Some wonderful historic buildings, great shopping and eating places. If are visting drop by and say hi!

I thought it was time to do a post on all my local and wonderful shops that I love and visit in Sydney. Must sees are Vivid Shop , Wheels and Dollbaby, Mushu, Orson and Blake. Chee Soon and Fitzgerald these are a few of many , I will post a few more next week.
