My friends Erin Schwall (chickletgurl13 on YouTube, you may also remember her as the sexy lady from Blac Efron) and Heath Butler (@HeathButler on Twitter) are doing a Breast Cancer Walk. They recently did a video to promote their walk and ask for donations.

And what better way to promote a walk than spoofing a Rocky I-Balboa training montage! And guess who gets to play the coach helping them build some hurting bombs! Yeeeeeah! Seriously, listen to my neck crack. It’s amazing. Matt Ryan, who accompanied me to the Smash Bros. Brawl Midnight Launch, is in the short, too.

If you’re in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, June 21, 2009, you should see their “2 Drink for Ta-Ta’s” improv show. The proceeds of the show will go toward their donations. Okay, I don’t know if this is a sign of being funny or going too far on the whole “Hey, let’s take the most whitest person in the world and have said person rap with T-Pain” phenomenon. But I can’t help but find Taylor Swift adorable in a white T and a grill. No wonder that Jonas had to let her go, she was probably pimp slapping him around non-stop.

The hilarious part is that this was an intro for the CMT Awards. Country Music Television has gone a long way since being bought by the same company that owns BET and MTV.

Today, Friday the 13th comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray. I’m a big fan of the new Jason, Derek Mears. So I was trying to look up some info on the horror film and its special features.

Somehow my current searches for horror mixed with my numerous previous searches for High School Musical stuff led me to this hilarious video. It’s a recut of the High School Musical 2 trailer to make it seem like it’s a suspense thriller/horror film. I know some people are truly scared of the HSM franchise, but I don’t think this is what they meant.

They are obviously interviewing people in their plethora of costumes and cosplay. And if you look closely towards the end, you may see a Black Nerd you know in a Scooby-Doo costume you’re familiar with. See you all at Comic-Con 2009!

I have not watched one single episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Just wasn’t all that interested. I was so in Conan mode! But Jimmy, congrats, you found out a way to make me watch an episode of your show. And that was this clip.

Apparently, Jimmy Fallon has had a running gag that he wants the entire cast of Saved by the Bell have a reunion on their show. It may have seem like a fluke idea, but then in one of the most awesome interviews ever, Mark-Paul Gosselaar comes out dressed as full-on Zack Morris and agrees to do the reunion. As a matter of fact, only Screech and Kelly are left (seriously? How is Screech NOT in on this yet? Is he busy teaching people chess?)

TALKBACK: What did you think of “Zack Morris” on Jimmy Fallon? And what is your favorite Saved by the Bell character or moment?

I really enjoyed the interview. Not only does Mark-Paul do THE ENTIRE FREAKIN’ INTERVIEW as Zack Morris (sweet!) but he does all the classic SbtB traits: times out the show, lowers a poster of Kelly Kapowski, shows his hatred to Jeff the college student that took her away from him, and even gives a shout-out to Stacey Carosi (maybe she’ll be down now that King of Queens is over).

He even pulls out some obscure references. I don’t know how many people in the audience got the Kelly changed zip codes reference (she was on Beverly Hills 90210… the old one). And kudos to anyone who got him moving to California from Indiana with his two best friends and principal. All I’ve got to say is… Good Morning, Miss Bliss.

That would have been enough… but he even does more! He joins the band and sings the Zack Attack classic, “Friends Forever.” Zack Morris singing a Saved by the Bell song with The Roots. Sorry Jimmy Fallon, cancel your show now. Even the reunion won’t be as cool as this, and nothing better can ever happen on your show. EVER!

I applaud Mark-Paul for doing this for again proving you can do your thing as an actor and still appreciate your roots. I understand and know it’s tough for child stars to break free of their character once the show is over. But it’s another thing to go back and act like it was the worst thing in your life or career, cause many people don’t get that! And it’s THAT that made us know who you are. So kudos for embracing your classic Zack, kudos.

Now I guess I will go back to not watching Jimmy Fallon until the reunion happens. And if I ever get my own talk show, best believe I will start up a similar reunion for Family Matters or the Power Rangers.

So I did the unthinkable… actually watched some American Idol (cough, Adam)… so I could catch the preview episode of Glee, a new and very smart FOX show that will hopefully succeed and not fall into the Andy Richter Controls the Universe abyss of gone-too-soon-shows. Glee is fresh. It’s funny. It’s quirky. The cast does a remarkable job. They can SANG! And let’s not forget it has the amazing Jane Lynch and Google Girl from Heroes.

I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews, Tweets and status updates from people saying how great it is. And I totally agree with them. What I DON’T agree with are the people who loved this premiere, but have an extreme hatred of High School Musical, or to a lesser extent, Spectacular. I’m sorry, people, they are cut from the cloth! Deal with it!

Let me break down for you…

Yes, Glee is for the mature audience. FOX even added “Viewer Discretion Advised” to remind you that it’s for the mature audience (cause I know kids TOTALLY follow the TV rules). We got talks of adult humor, pregnancies, possible infidelity, man/boy touching, drug dealing, and a kid in a wheelchair. All in quirky, comical ways, of course!

But Glee features singing show choir kids. So does Spectacular. And High School Musical don’t just do show choir, THEY PUT ON A SHOOOOOOOW! Don’t Stop Believin’! How about Breakin’ Free? Or You Give Me Something to Believe In! Take it away, Nikko!

Lots of other elements in the premiere sent me to East High in my mind. Take Jane Lynch’s speech about the school caste system and that everyone stays with their clique with no overlapping. Does this mean the new Glee Club teacher is trying to tell kids DON’T STICK TO THE STATUS QUO. Or the (awfully cute and hopefully legal) lead girl who thinks she’s the best singer… or shall we say, the most FABULOUS who WANTS IT ALL, THE FAME AND THE FORTUNE AND MORE!

And don’t get me started on the fact that both the Glee club and the High School Musical clique contain a never-called-gay-but-totally-gay kid and a sassy black chick. I would have added Spectacular to this list, but the Spectacular black chick was more clumsy, not as sassy.

Oh, wait, that’s one difference, Glee has an Asian chick. High School Musical features no Asians whatsoever. I guess We’re All In This Together as long as We’re not from China, Japan, or Korea. Where’s Brenda Song when you need her?

Now I’ve already been told, there’s NO WAY Glee and High School Musical are the same (what’s that, CrixLee?). And I guess you’re right. Like say, for example, Glee features the star of the football team who decides he’s going to play football as well as sing. That IS different. Unless you change “football” to “basketball” then change “sing” to “sing.” That straight up Troy Bolton, yo!

This is no way to diss Glee because I highly enjoyed it. This is to give more street cred to Zac Efron, Gabriella and the gang. Yes, it’s Disney, and if you hate THAT aspect of High School Musical, then fine by me. We agree to disagree. But if you go “I HATE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL BECAUSE ALL OF THAT SINGING AND DANCING!” but then go “I LOVE GLEE BECAUSE OF ALL THAT SINGING AND DANCING!” then I think someone is not listening to their inner Sharpay Evans.

I guess we’ll have to wait for future episodes to see if the case of Glee works at a summer resort or makes it to the big screen. And by wait, I mean WAIT. Yeah, FOX, good idea trying to sell a show by showing the 1st episode in May and the next in OCTOBER. Let’s see if that works well for the YouTube gimme-now audience. Oh that reminds me, GIMME-NOW!

And for those of you that STILL think they aren’t cut from the same cloth… we’ll see what you say when High School Musical 4 puts Corbin Bleu in a wheelchair.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch the online series I created, Soul and Son, which is nothing like Undercover Brother, or to a lesser extent, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, or to an even lesser extent, Sanford and Son.

See, I make fun of myself to show no heart feelings. That being said, if you like Glee, don’t hate on the HSM.

But you can still hate Camp Rock. I’ll allow it.

The second is a recent release of Durrty Dav. Durrty is a thug that wants to gangsta rap, but just also happens to be good with IT stuff. That’s real pimp, playa. I play Aggravated Assault, a rapper who just got out of prison (hard to believe) and still lives with his mother (easy to believe). Oh, and did I mention I strip at the end? Ah, that’s not important.

Will there be more cameos of me in other Comedy Time productions? Only time will tell…

Twice a year, the Southern California Classic Collectors (SC3 for short) host a classic video game party, complete with tons of old school arcade cabinets. We’re talking Dragon’s Lair. Burgertime. Space Ace. Professor Pac-Man??? I didn’t even know it existed… and now I know for good reason.

Hailey Bright from Coin-Op TV was there, too, and did a fun video about the event. Robert Welkner was also on hand, mostly next to me totally pwning his @$$ in my favorite arcade game, Q*Bert. About 2 mins in the video, see how Hailey and I geek out over the game (it’s her favorite, too).

So the big buzz today in Nintendoland is the release of the new portable Nintendo DSi. And you assume I already have one. Because if you know me, you know I have a Nintendo fetish (like feet, but not as tickly). Well, you’re wrong! I don’t have one yet.

Now I LOVE Nintendo! I waited in GameStops until midnight for GameCube and Smash Bros. Brawl. I conned a friend into trading me their DS for an old laptop. And how can we forget Buy Mii a Wii?

But with all that said, I can’t jump the gun and get a DSi right away. Why? I feel I’m too old for it. Read the rest of my post, and leave a comment if you agree or disagree.

Now, I’m not knocking it, the DSi is posting some impressive features. TWO cameras. Sound recorder. DSi Shop. SD memory. But I can’t make myself drop 170 US dollars on it now, because each feature is something I can already do or don’t honestly need, unless I’m a Twittering Tween (or a Twittering Ashton Kutcher).

Let’s break it down:

Camera. It’s nice, but it’s 2.3 megapixels. My new “SmurfBerry” (which is what I call my BlackBerry Curve) has 3.2. And I don’t think I’m in a position to spend extra money to see what my face looks like with a Mario mustache.

Especially since my “Stan Lee” mustache from Black Nerd LIVE is SO much cooler!

I like the whole camera thing, but how often will I use this? I can totally see a bunch of kids putting Mario mustaches, cat whiskers, and blingees on their friends, and loading them up on TwitPic. But I’m older now. Do I have time to do things like this?

However, I would like to put googly eyes on my income taxes. That would make them more fun.

Music. Now this was the part I was most interested in. I like the whole changing the music thing, including making something sound like an 8-bit game.

But I’m reading you can only save 10 second clips of your voice, and you can’t save the musical changes. I hope this is wrong, because I won’t be happy in life until I hear hip-hop that sounds like Mega Man background music.

Download games. I’ll stick to Wii for that. Well, until I run out of space. And this would be cool if Nintendo had some way to make the games you download on Wii play on DSi. But this is the company that just added talking to their machine, so, oh well. Where’s Animal Crossing when you need them?

Colors. Light blue? Seriously? The black looks nice but the light blue is fugly for a video game system. Unless you’re a Smurf of course.

And my biggest gripe about the new system… no backwards compatibility to GBA games. Hate to break it to you DS, but I think I only own like 2 or 3 DS games. So I don’t know how I would feel having to lug around DSi and my NES limited edition Game Boy Advance to play all my games.

Maybe I’m being too harsh on the DSi. I’d be lying to myself if I say I will never get the system… just can’t fathom getting it right away. Or maybe because I can’t afford it right now, I feel the need to knock it down a peg to stop my urge from buying it on the spot.

I mean, I really do like it. It sounds really cool, but I don’t know what I would do with all of it but go, “Well that’s cool.”

It’s like iPhone and Google Android apps. YES I SAID IT!!! As fun as it is to have some of those, which ones are really convenient? Like someone showed me they can download an app to their phone that gives the image of fogging up their screen. That’s awesome, an app that does something to our phones that we hate having done to our car windows!

So at the end of the day, I guess I just want technology I can use  rather than technology that just… does cool stuff. I appreciate it, but I don’t necessarily need it.

And that’s how I feel about Nintendo DSi. It’s cool, and I like it (except for it in light blue). But when it’s all said and done, it’s something you would go to middle school with and say, “Yo, dudes! Check out what I can do with your pic and voice? Extreme!”

And I’m just beyond that, DSi. I’m just beyond that.

It’s time for some more Movie Mob clips! First, we talk Watchmen. You get see look like a cross between Zorro, The Green Hornet, and the guy that robbed your local 7-11 this past week.

Next is The Last House on the Left. I give the best description of this film I feel. And sorry for calling teens stupid. It’s not all teens. Just the ones in the theater with me at the time.

“The Dark One” is a regular visitor to Black Nerd LIVE and did the most awesome thing. He remixed “Buy Mii a Wii” using the original song and a track from Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix. Sundays in March, I will be part of a very fun interactive theatre production, THE BIG AUDITION. Actors play over-the-top stereotypical “actors” all competing to be part of the South Hollywood International Talent Ensemble (or S.H.I.T.E. for short).

I play the director of the ensemble/host of the show as former child star Avery Winbush III (from the hit fictional series “Spunky Lewis”). If you want to see me in a bad wig and even badder jacket, this is the show for you.

As I’m going in to see the premiere of Watchmen tonight, my friend Matt shows me this video on his iPhone. I guess those things are good for something. It’s a hilarious parody of what the graphic novel masks would be like if they were turned into a campy 80’s Saturday Morning Cartoon show.

Gee, I can only imagine how Alan Moore would react if he saw this? Enjoy this video and then go enjoy the movie… well, enjoy most of the movie.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of performing improv shows with ComedySportz Provo in Provo, Utah. I brought my camera along and took lots of photos of the theater, the city, and all of its attractions.

I know a lot of people are hating on the state right now (because the Mormon churches there made a large financial contribution to California’s Prop 8… I know, right?) But there is no denying that the place is extremely beautiful, with its majestic mountains, beautiful streams, and classic homes. Ah, nature.

And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free…

This is no joke! This really happened during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! It’s amazing. Cartoon Network, kudos to you once again.

Here’s a classic Movie Mob clip I didn’t know was on the web until today. It’s from the Movie Mob Presidential Special.  We’re talking about actors playing Presidents in movies. Enjoy. AND VOTE FOR ME ON MOVIE MOB!

A few weeks ago, Entertainment Weekly wrote an article about how Heroes needs to make some drastic changes to stay alive.

It suggested simple things like trimming the number of characters, getting the show back to its roots, avoiding state storytelling and absurd plot twists, setting an end date, blah blah blah…

A 5-year-old could have made these suggestions.

Heroes, I think you are, have been, and will still be a grand show.

But if you truly want some help, then I will take care of you.  Here is my advice for the NBC series.

Details of my suggestions after the jump. And be sure to vote for your favorite suggestions.

1. Hiro has flashbacks to see how all the Heroes got to where they are now.
And by “flashbacks,” I mean you can now show Season 1 all over again.

2. Crossover with other comic book heroes.
Many heroes have bounced back by crossing over with other Heroes. This show should totally do it! Think about it: Sylar vs. Superman. Peter and Parkman vs. Peter Parker. And my personal favorite, Mohinder & Jughead.

3. Send the Heroes on vacation.
They need a break from all this world saving. So throw them all on the plane for a lovely trip to Sydney, Australia… on Oceanic 815. Then the plane crashes, and they land on a mysterious island which ALSO has magical powers. I think this could work, it totally hasn’t been done before.

4. Pair HRG with Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Face it, getting all those Level 5 Villains back is totally bounty hunting. And I know you’re thinking, what about the whole “One of Us, One of Them” theory. Well, for Dog to have a mullet for that long, he has to have super powers. Just don’t introduce him to the Haitian. Dog might call him something completely different.

5. HEROES BABIES!
Hey, it worked for the Muppets.

6. Show Claire the Cheerleader… NAKED!

7. Show Daphne the Speedster… NAKED!

8. Show Niki AND Jessica… NAKED!

9. Bring Maya back to the show…
Wait, don’t get angry. Let me finish.
…and show her NAKED!!!!
Ah, I knew I’d win you back.

10. Peter travels back to the past to stop Arthur Petrelli from ever meeting his mom.
This could actually work. If Arthur never met Angela, a lot of this would never happen. But the unfortunate side effect could be a teenage Angela falling in love with Peter and referring to him as “Calvin Klein.” That, my friends, was a Back to the Future reference. Hope you enjoyed it.

And finally, Ally McBeal did it. Scrubs did it. That’s So Raven did it. Even Xena: Warrior Princess did it. Not to mention High School did it three times.  I think you know where I’m going here…

11. HEROES: THE MUSICAL!!!

So that’s my advice for you, Heroes. Take it or leave it. But I hope you take it. I’m only trying to help… myself seeing half your cast sing naked on LOST.

Congratulations to Barack Obama, the first ever African-American President (no, not Clinton! shut up!)

This has been a glorious day for America. Change has been made. Progress has been shown. The old ways of politics (and, to a certain extent, the deep south) were proven wrong. Thanks to a new generation of voters.

The country and the WORLD looks at America in a different way now. And I couldn’t be happier.

And best of all, we may never have the hear the words “Joe the Plumber” ever again.

No matter who you wanted to vote for, this is success for all Americans. Not just black. Everyone! Even McCain recognized that in a wonderful concession speech.

But now the challenge is ahead of us. And I do mean us. Obama can’t do this alone. He will be scrutinized (Fox News) by certain someones (Fox News) on a daily basis (Fox News).

But with his hard work combined with our hope, determination, and sacrifice, this could be the start of molding a wonderful country and world for future generations.

So it’s time, people! Time to fight! Fight the economy, the war, the old ways of politics…

…and Palin in 2012.

Congratulations, Barack Obama. Our prayers go out to you and your family, as well as this entire country. May we all bond together as one people to make a greater nation.

But man, you’re going to make it hard for us comedians to make fun of you!!!

So since I’ve been in Hollywood, I’ve seen Raven-Symone, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, The guy that played The Famous Jett Jackson, the guy that played Larry on Even Stevens, and now these two Disney stars. It’s a sign, people. Look for The Suite Life of Black Nerd coming soon to your TV screens.

Oh, and I wanted to say something to them, but they were being accompanies by a very huge guy who I think would be ready to destroy a grown man like me trying to talk to two famous teenage girls.

And then Chris Hanson would show up.

My name is Andre, but many people know me as “Black Nerd” online. I want to congratulate you on a wonderfully successful franchise.

Even as a grown adult, I can enjoy the wild and wacky adventures of Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, and the black girl.

It’s wonderful. It’s like watching a song-and-dance version of Saved by the Bell. They also had a black girl.

As I now come home from watching your crowning achievement that is High School Musical 3: Senior Year, I say kudos once again to a job well done.

The drama. The laughs. The spectacle. The in-movie final curtain call. Stupendous.

You made a wonderful ending. Which is why I ask the following request…

DON’T MAKE ANY MORE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL MOVIES!

You’ve got Camp Rock now. You’ve got the Jonas Brothers. And I bet money that right now in the Disney Channel lab, an album is brewing for the Mexican chick who plays an Indian on Cory in the House.

So I implore you. You made a nice trilogy here. Don’t continue it.

Here’s why I make this request: As much as I love HSM3 (as the cool kids call it), I couldn’t help but notice you introducing some new characters.

A moppet who’s a younger, goofier Zac Efron. A young girl who’s basically Sharpay (making her British doesn’t change that fact). A black kid like Corbin Bleu with less poofy hair. No black girl.

I know what you’re trying to do here. But getting back to my Saved by the Bell references, need I remind you of Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

It seemed like a good idea at a time. Oh, I’m sure it did. But it sucked. It sucked big time. And bringing back Screech didn’t help.

So making High School Musical 4: The New Class with cameo appearances from Ashley Tisdale or the black girl will not make this franchise grow. It will sink. Just like Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

And Saved by the Bell: The College Years. And don’t even get me started on USA High.

So congratulate yourself on this franchise having a nice run, like Scream or The Matrix or 3 Ninjas. But now, it’s time to let sleeping dogs lie. Like Beverly Hills Chihuahua. But that’s another open letter.

Oh, and since the franchise is over, if the black girl has some free time, have her call me.

I thought her next big thing would be doing Dancing with the Stars, but I hear she’s already done that. So I’m guessing she’s free. Again, have her call me. I like her face.

Thank you, High School Musical. You have entertained many children, teens… and a grown man who still hasn’t grown up so much, that he’d rather watch The Suite Life on Deck than boobies on BET rap videos.

The place is known for hardly having lights on, but I scanned the darkly place and saw an excellent actor speed through his lunch.  I know it’s only October, but it feels like sweet November to see this actor, and I hope it starts a chain reaction to see more.

A Religious Experience was a short I did in Austin, Texas a few years ago.  It was a 2005 finalist for the show, Project Greenlight. After my videotape copy of it was starting to wear out, I decided to search for Matt Pulliam, the director of the film, to try to get a new copy.

I did one better. I found the actual film on YouTube! So now you all can see it. I’m the preacher in it and I LOVED playing this part! God is good, people. And so is playoff season.

So I just saw this commercial on TV and I get the joke.

He uses Axe Dark Temptation. Dark is like chocolate. Now he’s chocolate. And lots of white women around really like chocolate. Cause they can’t resist… wait for it… “dark temptation.”

But “chocolate” by no means is code for “black.” Like Chocolate City. Or David Alan Grier’s new TV show, Chocolate News. And let’s not forget… CHOCOLATE RAAAAAIIIINNN!!!

Heroes is back, baby! And it ain’t playin’ games this time, people! It’s kickin’ @$$ and takin’ names! After a… well, bumpy… Season 2 to say the least, slowness did not play a factor with this 2-part premiere.

I found this awesome video on GremlinsOnline.com, my #1 source for all things Gremlins, and I had to share it! It’s from a big-time fan of the Gremlins franchise who decided to make his own alternate sequence.

For those of you that remember Gremlins 2 The New Batch, there was a point of the film where the film reel broke and the Gremlins took over… only to be stopped by HULK FREAKIN’ HOGAN!

In the VHS version of the movie, a new sequence was put in its place to act like the tape broke, sending the Gremlins into a John Wayne movie.

In this fan film, the Gremlins have now broken your DVD player and are jumping into The Exorcist, Batman, even The Goonies! It’s absolutely awesome! Kudos.

I happen to do web work for Breakout Entertainment, the company behind the movie. Seriously some of the most coolest, awesome-est, fabulous-est people I’ve ever got to write PHP code for.

It’s all female, too! Sweet! And these “Breakout Girls” as they call themselves are super-smart, super-classy, and could easily give those Sex and the City antiques a run for their money.

And then there’s me, the “Breakout Boy.” Every meeting with them is like an episode of Kevin Hill.

I’ll give you time to Google the reference…

Back to the party, get this… TMZ was there! Oh man, I could’ve been on TMZ. My one dream in life.

You may have noticed a red X on Kendra’s face. That’s because I didn’t see her there. Could the rumors be true?

Okay, enough of this pretending to be cool and getting all into the Hollywood hype. That’s why I have a Smurf collection, people. So I never forget where I came from.

First, there’s the story that Xbox360 is lowering the price of its “Arcade” version to $199, a whole 50 bucks below the Nintendo Wii.

That’s great! Now you can afford to see all those games in high-definition and store all your game data on its big-@$$ hard drive.

Oh wait, the “Arcade” version doesn’t have HD or a big-@$$ hard drive…

…Awkward.

Over in Japanland, Sony is releasing a new PSP-3000 (no relation to Andre-3000), to try to compete with the Nintendo DS.

They brag the new PSP (sorry, I refuse to call it PSP-3000… this ain’t The Jetsons!) will have a better LCD screen, a quicker response time, and a built-in microphone.

You know, so you can make phone calls on it. Or you can use a phone.

I say why stop there. DS has two screens. Beat them at their game. Make a PSP with 3 screens! No, 7! And paint that system with chrome!

And you gotta put Yoda’s face on it. Don’t worry, Lucas’ll let you. He’s all about bastardizing the franchise lately, or have you not played Soul Calibur IV or seen the Clone Wars movie.

Keep trying, Microsoft. Keep trying, Sony. Lower your prices. Add your enhancements.

But remember, no matter what, there’s one thing Nintendo has that neither of you don’t. And that is…

I performed in this show. The New Comedy Adventure. And the show was fantastic!

The shows sold out. A lot of industry came. Feedback was above and beyond positive. And it was all based on original material written by the cast (I even wrote my own piece!)

And speaking of the cast, I got to work with absolutely talented people. Sketch and improv comedians. Veteran performers. Awesome newbies. People from ACME Comedy Theatre. People from Scott Sedita Acting Studios.

Even the voice of Irwin from “Billy & Mandy!” Who would’ve thought all this time an animated black nerd was voiced by a white woman?

Then again, I have been told my voice over the phone sounds like a white woman.

But I digress. This was an absolutely wonderful Hollywood showcase and I was so glad to be a part of it. Thanks to all who were in it and all who watched it.

Anyway, now I’ll start mentioning those Star Sightings on my blog, because it will be fun. Plus provide filler for the blog when I can’t think of anything else to write.

Ask a Chola meets the geeks at Comic-Con 2008. If you look really closely, you may see a Black Nerd Scooby for a few seconds.

I have never been on the Paris Hilton obsession wave. I was ready to join the Paris haters. Then I saw this video. And I’m sorry. It’s made me turn over a new leaf. I love Paris now and everything she does is good.

And for those of you too busy reading Paris gossip in US Weekly that you’ve missed THE FREAKIN’ NEWS, she’s responding to John McCain, who recently used an ad comparing Obama’s “celebrity” to the likes of her and Britney Spears.

I’m sure some genius is already printing up some “Paris/Rhianna ‘08″ t-shirts right now.

That’s of course when a second movie is made, but the events of the second movie take place before the events of the first movie so that the second movie gives you a backstory to all of the events that happened in the first movie before moving on to the third movie which will then take place after the first movie, which now takes place after the second movie.

I’ve just gone cross-eyed.

First, I found out that Disney is releasing The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel’s Beginning. Then I read on ToonZone.net that Cartoon Network is planning to make a live-action prequel to the Scooby-Doo movies.

Which leads me to a question… has there been any successful prequel movie?

And Batman Begins doesn’t count.

Seriously though, unless I’m brain-dead, I can’t think of one good movie that was a prequel.

Audiences didn’t trample over each other to see Dumb and Dumberer. The Flintstones went to Viva Rock Vegas, but hardly anyone came with them.

ABC Family’s Dukes of Hazzard prequel jumped liked The General Lee, but I think it’s still frozen in mid-air. I’m sure most of you haven’t even heard of Casper: A Spirited Beginning.

And then, there is the mother of all pompous prequels… Star Wars Episodes 1 & 2. (Yes, Episode 3, you get spared in this attack)

Seriously though, if I hear Anakin give that “sand” speech to Padme in Episode 2 one more time, I’m going to lightsaber some younglings myself.

(Not to mention that Star Wars: Clone Wars animated movie is coming out, which is technically a prequel of a prequel… Eyes returning to crossed…)

So can you help me out? Can you tell me of a good prequel to check out? It’s an interesting genre. I just can’t think of a good example.

That’s it! I’m going to see a panel that I want to see today if it kills me!

So I’m going into Ballroom 20 as soon as the Comic-Con doors open, and I’m staying there until the Harold and Kumar Panel happens!

Luckily, it worked. Take that, crowds!

Not only that, but after seeing the panel before it, I have a new show to check out. And its name is It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. With its hilarious take on man-hunting and cannibalism, how can I NOT want to watch the rest of this series?

I did get to see the panel of John Cho and Kal Penn. What I find interesting is how opposite they seem from the characters they play in the movie. It’s like the typical buddy movie actors, the one acts like the other in real life. Kal Penn had a nice subtle quietness to him while John Cho was a joke a minute.

Either way, as John and Kal or as Harold and Kumar, they make for a great team and a great time. Here’s hoping they don’t hate each other behind closed doors. I need my Harold and Kumar 3.

Without question, the best part of this panel was when an audience member, while asking his question, mentions that his best friend… who JUST HAPPENS TO BE ASIAN… (sigh) looks exactly like John Cho!

John made him prove it. Said guy throws him a picture of this Asian friend. And as we could all tell from a close-up shot on the big screen, John and this friend looked absolutely nothing alike.

Racist ignorance. It’s delicious, isn’t it?

After that, I got to see my friend Derek Mears, who’s going to be the new Jason Voorhees in the upcoming reboot of Friday the 13th.

The cast and crew were there for the panel, although I could hardly hear over the teenage girls screaming for the movie’s male lead, as well as Supernatural star, Jared Padalecki.

Sorry, I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but he’s a pretty boy. So his name doesn’t get bolded.

A slight teaser was shown for the film. I know some fanboys are going to hate without first look, but I have to say I’m a little interested. From what I’ve seen, Jason is a true fighter in this one. The days of the slow walk seem to be done.

Plus, no magic kids or trips to Manhattan or space this time. Thanks for that.

That afternoon, I did what Comic-Con used to be nothing but… I shopped around for comics. I know, what a concept, right? I haven’t really been into comics in quite some time (except for Archie Comics, cause I love me some Big Ethel), but Comic-Con, superhero movies, and a certain Warrior Princess has definitely rejuvenated my interest in the art form.

I particularly paid attention (and cash) to my African-American comic book creators and fellow black nerds. I know they are hustling just like me, so I try to support any way I can.

Special shout out to Howard Simpson, a Spider-Man comic book artist, for the awesome picture. Since I bought comics from the others, I will talk about them and their comics in future blogs.

But that didn’t stop me from also purchasing from Ken Penders, who draws the Sonic the Hedgehog comic books. He was a great guy to talk to, although a little nervous to sign my comic “To the Black Nerd.”

I promise you, Ken, the NAACP will not attack you in any way.

Now, this Barack Obama mask I found at the convention, that’s another story.

I took more pics of people in costumes. I tried to get a picture with a guy who was decked out in a totally awesome Marvin the Martian outfit. I tapped on his shoulder to get a pic, but he kept walking, completely ignoring me and dissing me right in front of a crowd of onlookers.

Wow, Marvin, you get one movie deal, and now you’ve gone all diva.

Of course, I couldn’t leave Comic-Con without adding to my collections. I got a Mohawk Gremlin figurine and a nice-sized Mario statue. Both items are rare, at least U.S. rare, cause they are from Japan.

But the highlight was a giant Smurf sitting on a mushroom, and when you pull its string, IT TALKS! However, it scares me a bit. When it talks, its head moves. But instead of closing its eyes, it instead just hides its pupils. So you have a Smurf with eyes, but no eyeballs. It’s like The Grudge, Smurf-style.

And with that, my Comic-Con experience comes to a close. I guess there’s only one thing left to do. Run upstairs real quick and buy my ticket for next year.

I love Comic-Con. Argue what you wish about long lines (which I hate), big crowds (which I hate), or going all Hollywood (which I hate until I’m Hollywood and I can be there because of it), it’s still a wonderfully fabulous nerd mecca.

Now, does anyone know anything about WonderCon? I think I might go there next year, too… EXCELSIOR!!!

SATURDAY (CONT’D)

In addition to meeting voice-over artists, Scooby-Doo creators, basketball players, and even some Black Nerd Comedy fans who recognized me (with and without the Scooby suit), I got to run into some other “Cewebrities” promoting at Comic-Con.

Hey, we all have to hustle to get seen.

I ran into the ladies of MyNerdGirl.com, Kiko from Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show, the cast of The Guild (although stupid me forgot to ask for a picture of them), and even my good buddy Ask a Chola!

Chola actually got filmed for a segment on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I hope she gets on it. Then I hope she does late night. I’d rather have her after Conan than Jimmy Fallon.

I also had another awesome Scooby moment. While in awe that I was in close proximity of “Rocky” and “Bulk” from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a lady asked me to jump in line to meet Joe Staten. He actually used to draw for the Scooby-Doo cartoon series and now draws for the Scooby-Doo comic book.

We had a small Scooby conversation, he told me some history of his career, and out of the kindness of his heart, he actually drew me a sketch drawing of Scooby right there and signed it! What a guy.

Another awesome moment happened while waiting in line. Joe’s table was right next to the autograph table of the creators of a little show you may have heard of… THE SIMPSONS!

And the main man himself Matt Groening, once he sees me, stops autographs, comes right up to me, and says something to the effect of, “A lot of people come here as Superman or Batman. But you…”

Then he just extends his hand for a shake, tells me “great costume,” and floats away just as fast as he floated towards. It was like a visit from an angel. An angel who created Milhouse.

That night was the Comic-Con Masquerade. If you ever go to Comic-Con, this event is a must see, whether in the ballroom or on a monitor in one of the rooms. I wish I could describe it, but I can’t. It can only be described by your eyes to your brain.

After the Masquerade, a party breaks out in the Sails Pavilion. I took lots of pictures of this party, which you can see in my Comic-Con 2008 Flickr Set. Why did I take a lot of pics of this party? To prove a point.

NERDS CAN DEFINITELY GET THEIR FREAK ON!!!

Sometimes I can be very naive. It’s a cute quality. I like it. But sometimes it works against me.

For example, I actually believed I had a chance to get into the Heroes panel.

That maybe enough people were turned off by Season 2 that the line wouldn’t be, oh I don’t know, ALL THE WAY AROUND THE DAMN CONVENTION CENTER!

Oh well, to The Black Panel it is.

The Black Panel was very entertaining though. The moderator was very funny. The only disappointing thing is I saw a clear distinction between old and new way of thinking when it comes to being successful in any type of entertainment, comics or otherwise.

The panel made a clear point that technology has made it easier to create product, so now the focus should really be on making a good story and choosing your own path. But some people weren’t hearing that. Those people just wanted someone to give them a lot of money or an easy break.

I want someone to give me money on blind faith as well. I also want to date Rosario Dawson and own a pet unicorn. And I want it all by next Friday.

At The Black Panel, I was recruited by someone on press to help him film the panel, because he was filming two others at the same time and had to go back and forth.

You know what’s sad? I know how to film. Seriously. But it’s always when I touch someone else’s camera that I forget everything. How do I zoom? How can I tighten the tripod? What’s a tripod? I’m stupid now.

The BET Panel afterwards introduced us to the new Black Panther animated series. Well, “animated comic book” would be a better way to describe it once you see it. It’s a very interesting style, similar to something you’d see on Adult Swim. It could work. We’ll just have to see how the fanboys take it.

If the fanboys watch Black Entertainment Television.

After all that, it was time to get back into the Scooby-Doo costume. I ran into Wally Wingert again at a Cartoon Voices Panel. There, I had the opportunity to take pics with Phil LaMarr of MadTV and several voice-over roles (the man was Samurai Jack!) and Scott Adsit, who you may recognize from 30 Rock.

While on the Comic-Con convention floor, I actually went to the BET booth and saw Reginald Hudlin, the President of Entertainment at BET. He was cool and actually took one of my postcards.

But I’m pretty sure the last black person he thought he’d be talking to was one in a Scooby-Doo costume. Same goes for Denys Cowan, Black Panther TV producer that I got to freak out… I mean meet… with the Scooby suit. Ah well, hope that doesn’t turn off Mr. Black Panther Creators.

But speaking of turn-offs, this is the moment where I do have a complaint about my fellow costumers.

NO MORE JOKER COSTUMES!

I’m serious, you could not turn around without seeing someone dressed as The Joker.

Fat Jokers. Skinny Jokers. Male Jokers. Female Jokers. Tall Jokers. Small Jokers. White Jokers. Hispanic Jokers. Ledger Jokers. Nicholson Jokers. Romero Jokers.

TOO MANY JOKERS!

If you’re a person that’s scared of clowns, Comic-Con was not the place to be.

FRIDAY

With a bag full of postcards and a bigger bag full of costume, I entered a bathroom stall as Black Nerd and exited as Scooby-Dooby-Doo!

I didn’t know how my Scooby-Doo costume would be accepted at Comic-Con.

Turns out it was a success.

Literally seconds after entering the floor, I was approached by Comic-Con patrons to take pictures. Which made it easy to get a Black Nerd Comedy postcard in their hand (the postcard also was of me in the costume).

I was quickly approached by a production assistant that “John” wants to interview me.

That John was John Salley of The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

He tried really hard to interview me, but he could not keep a straight face the entire time.

Because not only was I dressed as Scooby, I talked as Scooby. Hey people, I commit.

On camera, he pleaded for Obama to take office because, after seeing me, we “hit a new low.” I wasn’t offended, but I retaliated his statement by saying, in Scooby Speak, “Ri’m roting ror Rarack Rorama!” More laughter ensued.

I also got interviewed by The Chicago Tribune for their “Joke of the Day” blog and various other websites. I also ran into William Katt from The Greatest American Hero and comedian Steve Agee. All the pics can be found in my Comic-Con 2008 Flickr Set.

I would recap everyone and everything that interacted with Scooby, but honestly, most of it’s a blur.

Here’s the con of spending a day (actually two, cause I also did this on Saturday) in a Scooby-Doo costume: you get light-headed. Not hot, just loopy. Things happen, but I don’t remember much about it until I read about it later. It’s like Britney.

Now here’s a new pro. Back when I talked about dressing up as Scooby at the Playboy Mansion, I said wearing a Scooby-Doo costume does not get you women. I should change that statement.

Wearing a Scooby-Doo costume does not get you women… EXCEPT AT COMIC-CON! The ladies love their Doo, and there are tons of pictures floating out there, including a few I got, of me with some gorgeous women.

Yes, women go to Comic-Con, people. Nerds are in. Deal with it.

A certain couple of ladies impressed with my Scooby voice as well as my costume introduced me to Wally Wingert.

He’s a big time voice-over artist. He’s a utility player for Family Guy. I have met a number of voice-over artists since I been out here in Cali, and they all have been a coolio bunch so far.

But it was that afternoon that something truly magical happened. One of the panels for the day was with Joe Ruby and Kent Spears, the founders of Ruby-Spears.

Their company is behind some of the greatest cartoons of my childhood, including Dyno-Mutt, It’s Punky Brewster, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Mr. T, and they were the creators of Scooby-Doo.

I luckily walked into their room just as they were telling the story about how Scooby came to be. After finishing their story, the moderator says, “And speaking of Scooby-Doo, he’s here now!” The entire room turns around and applauds for me, and the panel plays along.

They thank “me” (me being Scooby) for being there, I thank them for giving me a career, and I even go up on the panel to take press photos.

The only irritating thing was that they had a DVD presentation they couldn’t show because the sound guy in the room… sadly enough… didn’t know how to work the sound! This would never happen in the Avatar the Last Airbender panel! Old-school cartoons gets no love.

That evening, I got to watch all three parts of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. If you haven’t seen this, you should. It’s hilarious and it stars THE MAN a.k.a. Neil Patrick Harris. Also awesome in it is Felicia Day. I’ve met her a couple of times and she’s as sweet as she is talented. Whedon, you’ve done it again!

Now it’s time to get ready for the biggest day of Comic-Con… the dreaded Saturday.

This is my recap of my 4 days at Comic-Con 2008… or at least as much as I can remember. It was a long week, and I spent a lot of it in a Scooby-Doo costume, so I’m a little light-headed.

I’ll tell you right now. I’m writing based on my own personal Comic-Con adventures. So if you’re looking for secret Hugh Jackman appearances, love or hate debates over Twilight, or first-look videos that will eventually be deleted from YouTube, you’re in the wrong place. Let’s do this!

THURSDAY

The first day of any convention is always the hardest and most sucky (technical term) for me. You have to learn the city. You have to learn transportation. You have to learn parking. And you have to learn the event itself.

You know how they say it takes about a year before you get adjusted to moving to a new place. You have that same experience at Comic-Con… but you have to adjust in like an hour.

Luckily, I found my way to the tail end of a panel filled with the creators of Tiny Toon Adventures and Freakazoid! Very awesome stuff. There were talks of Particle Man and Happy World Land.

And a very simple answer was given as to why Freakazoid! was cancelled. Kids weren’t watching it.

Later, I actually got a poster signed by all of them. They had cut off the line because a big security guard who would hurt me said so. And I tend not to stand up to guys who can hurt me.

But magically, more time was allowed, and I happened to be right by as big scary guy turned into teddy bear and said I can get in line.

And that’s the last time you’ll hear me refer to another man as “teddy bear.”

Then I walked into the massiveness that was the Comic-Con floor, full of vendors, fans, and swag. Walking into that room turns your brain into a mixture of childlike joy, adoring awe, and intense stupidity.

You’re excited about what you see, but don’t know where to go next. You actually run up to people in weird costumes, when in real life, you’d run the opposite direction.

And you completely forget how to walk. Seriously, you will look directly at a person while walking right into them.

The main attraction seemed to be the Ghostbusters booth. Looking like the firehouse from the movie, the place was packed with people lined up to try the new Ghostbusters video game. Or to learn more about the complete animated series The Real Ghostbusters being released on DVD.

I’m sure having the Ghostbabes there didn’t hurt. Or are they Girlbusters?

You notice I’m not talking too much about panels. There’s a reason. I didn’t go into many of them. Why?

I HATE LINES!

I love panels! But my short attention span just has no capacity for standing 3 hours in line. Especially at Comic-Con. There’s just too much going on for me to stand still.

Later, I caught up with Rob and Hailey from Coin-Op TV. They had a press pass (I wonder if Black Nerd Comedy can qualify as press?) and were doing interviews with game creators, including the creator of a funny Strongbad “Video Game for Attractive People.”

And it was with then that I ran into the infamous Geoff Mendicino.

For those not familiar with the story, Geoff Mendicino of FreezeCracker.com was supposed to be on Coin-Op TV the same night I ended up being on it. I don’t know all of the story behind why this happened, but apparently he and/or his fanbase got mad and retaliated by writing horribly racist and derogatory comments about me on Coin-Op’s message board.

But in person, Geoff was my buddy, gave me a hug, and assured me he personally had nothing to do with it.

No matter what’s fact or what’s fiction, it still always amazes me the attitudes of person-to-person interaction vs. the attitudes of people on the Internet. Anyways, I’m glad we met and hopefully all the nastiness is pushed way behind us.

Because I’m a grown-@$$ man.

Well, that’s about it for day one. I didn’t do much that evening because I had to finish the updated look for the website. But there will definitely be more Comic-Con goodness in Part 2.

TV Guide Broadband has released their latest video, “An American Intervention,” about a kid who just can’t realize he’ll never make it on American Idol. If you look real closely at the judge’s table, you may see a Black Nerd as “Sandy Jackson.” Plus, Dave Holmes from MTV is in it! You HAVE to watch it now!

Pansy Warrior Princess has released her latest video, and it’s a Pansy/Black Nerd video collabo. Gangsta Gizmo in on trial for the murder of Pansy’s cousin, and I, as his lawyer, try to get him off the hook. But you know Gangsta Gizmo, he’s such a “cut” up.

Hello everyone. Please forgive me for the long e-mail, but I want to let you know how everything is going at the moment for me, since I have received some questions and e-mails regarding myself and my live show.

On Last Sunday’s live show, about an hour into the program, my LiveVideo account was unfortunately hacked. This was not like the spammers or fake name lookalikes we’ve seen in the past. This was a hacker that deliberately found a way into my account, took it over, kicked me off, and used my account to spread messages of hatred and racism.

The LiveVideo staff and I have been talking for the past several days to alleviate the damages. The hacker’s IP address has been found and permanently banned from the site, and I now have my LiveVideo account back in my hands. So now if you see BlackNerd in your room, it is me! Big thanks to LiveVideo for handling this matter, and also a special thanks to TemplarKnight, who personally used methods to find more info regarding the hacking.

As TemplarKnight implied, and I agree with, while it sucks that this happened, it’s kind of a good thing it happened to me specifically, since my strong presence on LiveVideo (ego-boost, ha ha!) made the hacking well-known and attended to quickly.

And with that, I want to once again thank each and every one of you, my true fans and friends. You all kept in contact with each other and with me to not only make sure my account was back in order, but that I myself was okay after being upset about the situation. You all went above and beyond the call of duty to contact LiveVideo, check on me, and flag this hacker. In other words, you made it aware that he messed with the wrong guy!

However, I want to encourage you all that if something like this ever happens again, please leave the room as soon as possible. I know the original feeling is to attack these people, yell at them, etc., but when it comes to sad people like this so starved for attention, that’s exactly what they want you to do. Don’t give them the benefit, they’re not worth your time.

Also, it has become apparent to me that this same hacker may have gotten into my Facebook or some other account of mine to find my phone number and call me. So it’s a good idea when you run into these hackers to avoid them so they don’t try to get any info from you.

*IF YOU WERE IN THE ROOM AT THE TIME OF THE HACKING, OR IF YOU ARE SUBSCRIBED TO MY ACCOUNT IN ANY WAY, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHANGING YOUR LIVEVIDEO PASSWORD AND ANY OTHER POSSIBLE PASSWORDS YOU MAY RELATE TO THE SITE (I.E. FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, FRIENDSTER, YOUTUBE, ETC.) JUST TO BE SAFE.

But again, for those of you who stood up to fight for me and support me, I can’t thank you enough for your loyalty and friendship.

I’ve decided to take a couple days off to recoup, which is why I wasn’t online yesterday and today. I will be back Thursday June 26 at 6:00pm pst, and we’ll go back to things as normal and let all of this pass.

It will take more than a lame hacker to get me to stop using LiveVideo to talk to you. A Black Nerd has to stand tall and fend off all those who hate or criticize. And with you all as my loyal fans, it makes the fight easier. I love you all and thank you.

So now you can sing it at your next karaoke party… if people still have those… I don’t know. It’s been a while since I’ve been invited to a party.

I have a few fan tribute videos, but this one takes the cake. It’s from AluraStar, a frequent visitor to Black Nerd LIVE. She wrote a song that, according to her, she channeled from John Lennon, called The Black Nerd And His Power. The song now has an accompanying animated music video. I can’t really describe it. You just have to watch it. And thank you so much, AluraStar, for being such a Black Nerd fan.
