Our kids are full of adventure and June was no exception. There was a new park built by our house recently, so the kids and I thought it would be fun to check out. We loved that it was unique from the other parks in our area. Egan met some boys to play with while we were there and they made the whole thing into an obstacle course. One of Egan's friends had a Firefighter birthday party which Egan thought was AWESOME.  In fact, for days later, he said on multiple occasions, "Dad, did you know I'm friends with Firefighters?" At the party, they had all sorts of firefighter related games as well as hats the kids could wear.  The icing on the cake for Egan came when the fire truck pulled up to the front yard.  They were so sweet

Earlier this summer Blake and Egan had a backyard campout with a couple friends and their dads. I'll let you guess how a camp out with 3 four year olds and their dads went. There wasn't just a lot of sleep to be had. Our playgroup made a trip to a local (but different than last time!) Fire Department. First we got to tour the whole building to see where the firemen live, but the kids were all about the trucks, of course. The captain explained all about what they do, and the kids were surprisingly intent on what he had to say. Then they had another fireman put on the full gear… air tank, mask and all.  This

We've been working on lots of Legos with Egan. Still we need to help with things like these cars, but he is then taking what we've built together and customizing it himself to make it just how he wants it… for that day. We planned a family fun day for Egan's actual birthday with a trip to the arboretum and a picnic! We started the day with a donut, candle and singing. When we get boxes in the mail, we frequently do SOMETHING with them before they go in the recycling bin. If they are small, they get opened and we draw something on them! Egan just got this small airplane, so we made an airport just for it. Free toys are the best toys.

Back from Sloane's first birthday! Can't believe this never got posted! Sloane is 1! We had a fun birthday party with our playgroup friends to celebrate with a "Pi Day Party!"
