Well my freinds, I've taken the time to do the research for you.. I researched several sources on the internet and also consulted with my good friend, Dr. Tom Swiney, on how certain vitamins and minerals affect the body...

Vitamin B vs. caffeine

Most people think that the best way to energize their body is to stack up on caffeine... This is a common misconception.. Caffeine will give a good boost for a short time, but after that boost you get very tired.. Vitamin B12 and B6 are THE best supplements for energy and it stabilizes the nervous system for a more gradual down time (gradual down time, means longer up time!)..

Sugar and carbs

A lot of energy drinks are stacked with sugar.. we all know that sugar is a carbohydrate.. Carbs are good for energy, but if your not planning to hit the gym anytime soon, your going to gain some pounds..

With all that said, here are the comparisons:

Red Bull
price-- $2 per 8.3 oz can
caffeine-- 80mg
sugar-- 27g
calories-- 110
carbs-- 28g
vitamin B6-- 250% daily value
vitamin B12-- 80% daily value

Rockstar
price-- $2 per 16 oz can
caffeine-- 160mg
sugar-- 62g
calories-- 280
carbs-- 62g
vitamin B6-- 200% daily value
vitamin B12-- 200% daily value

Monster
price-- $2.79 per 16 oz can
caffeine-- 160mg
sugar-- 54g
calories-- 200
carbs-- 54g
vitamin B6-- 200% daily value
vitamin B12-- 200% daily value

Stacker/Stinger
price-- $2 per 8.4 oz can
caffeine-- 80mg
sugar-- 0g
calories-- 130
carbs-- 0g
vitamin B6-- 300% daily value
vitamin B12-- 100% daily value

As you can see, most energy drinks contain around the same nutritional content.. Stacker/Stinger comes the closest to XS, because of it's 0 sugar content.. However, it is still a long ways away from comparing.. Here is the nutritional content of XS:

XS Energy
price-- $2 per 8.4 oz can
caffeine-- 80mg
sugar-- 0g
calories-- 8
carbs-- 0g
vitamin B6-- 300% daily value
vitamin B12-- 4900% daily value

As you can see, XS Energy blows the competition out of the water with massive amounts of Vitamin B6 and B12.. With 0 sugars and only 8 calories, It's good for those of you that like to be energized without having to worry about gaining weight...

Anyway, i'm going to end this long blog here.. if you guys want to know more about the product and how to get some of it, visit my website, www.lowefrequency.biz, or send me a message.. Omega-3's reduce the risk of cardio problems, stimulate memory, learning, and concentration...

Experts from the University Of Maryland Medical Institute say that kids should have fish in their diet at least 2 or 3 times a week.. His act of self-immolation, which was repeated by others, was witnessed by David Halberstam, a New York Times reporter, who wrote:

" I was to see that sight again, but once was enough. Flames were coming from a human being; his body was slowly withering and shriveling up, his head blackening and charring. In the air was the smell of burning human flesh; human beings burn surprisingly quickly. Behind me I could hear the sobbing of the Vietnamese who were now gathering. I was too shocked to cry, too confused to take notes or ask questions, too bewildered to even think.... As he burned he never moved a muscle, never uttered a sound, his outward composure in sharp contrast to the wailing people around him."

A Blast Of Clarity

Pull your pants up or go to jail

I read an article on www.msnbc.com about proposals to ban people from wearing baggy pants below the waistline. I think this is just ridiculous!! In cities like Atlanta, Dallas, Trenton, NJ, and several others, a person can go to jail for 6 months, and get hit with a $500 for having their pants too low!! As if the authorities have didn't have enough reasons to arrest citizens!! Did they really need another? What happened to freedom? Now they need to tell us how to dress! Anyway, here are some quotes from some articles that i found on this issue:

"Are they employed? Do they have a high school diploma? It's a wonderful way to redirect at that point," said Trenton Councilwoman Annette Lartigue, who is drafting a law to outlaw saggy pants. "The message is clear: We don't want to see your backside."

I had to quote this because Ms. Lartigue is definitely making this an issue of stereotype. What does having a diploma or employment have to with a style of dress?

"In Atlanta, we see this as racial profiling," said Benetta Standly, statewide organizer for the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia. "It's going to target African-American male youths. There's a fear with people associating the way you dress with crimes being committed."

Unfortunately, I will have to disagree with Ms. Standly on her statement. It is not an issue of racial profiling. Stereotype profiling sounds more suitable though. The proposal targets skateboarders, and women wearing low-rise jeans too.

"Is it distasteful? Maybe. Does it need to be legislated? We don't think so," said Benetta Standly of the ACLU of Georgia."

I agree, some people wear their pants way too low. However, there is a lot worse out there. Are they going to ban old men from wearing "Richard Simmons shorts" in public? Of course not! This is obviously a shot at a specific culture, stereotype, etc.

Anyway, I just thought i should put my two cents in regarding this nonsense. It just seems crazy how the authorities can do anything they want; whether it violates our constitutional right or not.

Vote on whether or not baggy pants should be outlawed.

feel free to comment...

links:
ABC News: Outlawing Baggy Pants
A Blast Of Clarity

Oppertunity NYC: Rich people helping the poor

Opportunity NYC is a program recently started by the Mayor of New York City, Mike Bloomberg. The program encourages low-income citizens of NYC to get interested in the health and education of their youth. Parents get paid small amounts of money to take their kids to the hospital for check-ups, regularly attend school activities, and register for library cards... The program is fully funded by private organizations like Rockefeller and Mayor Bloomberg's own personal cash. They have raised over $40 million for this program.

When i first heard of this program, i thought to myself, "shouldn't parents be doing these things anyway? Why should parents get paid to be parents?". However, after some thought, i looked at the program from a different perspective.

1. Low-income families cant afford health insurance so the money can help pay medical fees. If the federal government cant provide a solution to the high prices of health insurance, the this program can definitley help a bit.

2. Some parents don't have time to attend regular school activites because they have to work. Making a little bit of money by staying active in these school functions will definitley encourage parents to become more invovled with their kids education.

Anyway, i think that Opportunity NYC is a great idea and it's good to see that some rich Americans really care about maturating the lifestyle of other less fortunate citizens. I definitley tip my hat to Mayor Bloomberg for developing this program. It is still under a two year experimental phase and there is a lot of skepticism from both conservatives and liberals. However, similar programs have been very successful in other countries and i believe that Opportunity NYC will be very beneficial the well-being of the American society.
A Blast Of Clarity

Tagged!!

I dont really understand the concept of tagging, but i thought it had something to do with labeling a person's blog.

Anyway, i was tagged by Craig of www.thesnapclap.com and i think i'm supposed to fill this out... so here we go...

3 things that scare me

1. failure
2. wild kids
3. anything made in China

3 people who make me laugh

1. my co-workers
2. I'm in the mood for something hard, energetic, and loud! i don't feel like listening to T.I., Rick Ross, Boosie, The LOX, 2Pac, DJ Khaled, or any of the other great CD's that i have, but i find one buried deep in the archives of my CD case that i haven't heard in awhile. A forgotten rap quartet that made a phenomenal album, but isn't really well known on the radio. Boyz n Da Hood....

The group is currently signed to P Diddy's Bad Boy Records. When Boyz n Da Hood dropped their self titled album in 2005, the group consisted of four rappers from Atlanta, GA. Lee "Duke" Dixon, Miguel "Big Gee" Scott, Jacoby "Jody Breeze" White, and Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins. Despite the release of the smash single "Dem Boyz", their debut album only went gold...

Since then, Young Jeezy, whom is considered to be the heart and soul of the group has signed with Def Jam and is having a successfull solo career. He is also head of the rap label Certified Thug Entertainment. Jody Breeze is now part of Jazze Pha's label Sho'nuff but is still part of the group.

Since the departure of Young Jeezy, Boyz n Da Hood has added a new member to the group, Gorilla Zoe. They are scheduled to drop another album in October of 2007. However, after listening to several samples, I don't think this album will be nearly as good as their debut. Gorilla Zoe is alright, but he doesn't bring the energy like Young Jeezy did.

No disrespect to any of the group artists, but I don't think they will be same without Jeezy. Their debut album is one of my personal all-time favorites. I also like it more than any of Jeezy's solo albums. Despite going only gold, this album is definitely an unknown treasure in the rap industry....

Feel free to comment....

links:
Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South
Boyz n Da Hood samples
A Blast Of Clarity

Jace Aaryah-Nazohni Lowe

This is a picture of Jace that a friend of mine (Anika) took during Independence Day this past year... It was supposedly originated by a Canadian resident.. Let me know what you think about it...

"View the pictures below and decide how you really feel about the future of the Western World. You won't see these in the Houston Comical or on the evening network news! Why would that be?

These pictures are of Muslims marching through the streets of London during their recent "Religion of Peace Demonstration."

"Why would anyone think that we should be at war with such nice, peaceful Moslems?!

Americans need to know - You need to forward this one to everyone! These Pictures tell it all!

Muslims have stated that England will be the first country they take over!

These are pictures not shown on American TV or in American Newspapers (as they might help Bush's war on terror), but were forwarded to me by a Canadian Friend who thought Americans ought to know!"

Makes you want to hate every Muslim in the world, huh? Based on the pics posted by some insignificant Canadian resident, we should hate all Muslims because ALL of them are scum and hate Americans!!

This is a prime example of how people's ignorance can stimulate hate and discrimination.. Based on several pictures, this person came to a conclusion that all Muslims are evil and we should exterminate all of them... Yes, there are Muslim extremists that hate the US and everyone else that does not follow Islamic teachings.. However, these are also the people that follow a dictatorship, rather than represent their own religious teachings and basing a conclusion on a small part of the Islamic society makes this person no better than the fools in these pictures...

Please feel free to comment....

A Blast Of Clarity

Fair Tax Plan: The bigger picture

The Fair Tax plan is a proposal that replaces all tax expenses (federal, state, medicare, social security, etc.) with a higher sales tax rate of around 20%-30% to any US citizen above poverty. It is currently supported by a majority of the presidential candidates, however the two parties disagree on the some of the details.

The biggest issue of this plan would be the higher sales tax rate. Sales taxes are currently around 7%-8% on all purchases. If the Fair Tax Plan is put into effect, the rate would dramatically increase to somewhere between 23%-30% and the rate could be based on earned income. This is one issue that Republican and Democratic parties disagree on. According to a recent poll done by Rasmussen Reports, Republicans, by a 66%-24% margin, favor a flat sales tax rate for all Americans regardless of their income, while the Democrats favor income brackets by a 53%-24% margin. The income bracket would have Americans that make $200,000/yr. paying higher sales tax than anyone below that bracket.

Regardless of whether the income bracket is added to the plan or not, the tax increase will upset most people. However, there are more details that could make this plan look more appealing.

---Americans may only be taxed on new purchases or services. Used items, such as automobiles, homes, etc. could be tax free. Lower-income citizens may benefit too with necessities like food and lower-priced clothing being free of tax.

---The elimination of the federal and state taxes means that workers will be receiving higher paychecks.

---Any American living at or under the national poverty level (income of $9000/yr) will be free of the sales tax.

---Some say that the plan would eliminate the IRS. It may, or may not. However, tax time will be a lot less complex and time-consuming, which could lead to less audits by the IRS.

---Citizens can become more mindful about what they buy and eliminate wasted money on needless purchases. It can encourage investing and saving.

For more details of the benefits, please see www.fairtax.org

The raw benefits of the Fair Tax plan are a nice sugar coat to the low and middle income Americans. However, looking from a broader perspective, the plan can hurt both the economy and individuals.

----First of all, the whole plan is very risky. It may not raise enough money to fund the country's needs for health care, military defense, and education. The country's funds would be solely based on consumers.

----The prices of items may increase due to the high price of raw materials used for production.

----Tax evasion and black marketing will skyrocket.

----Small businesses would be forced to shut down because the cost of running and promoting would increase. Large corporations and enterprises who can afford the tax increase would benefit due to the decrease of competition. Sooner or later, these enterprises will totally control the consumer market, leaving no room for any new entrepreneurs. With little or no competition, the large enterprises can do what they want with prices and quality of their products because consumers have little or no alternative.

The Fair Tax Plan sounds like a nice plan to consolidate all tax expenses. However, it really sounds like the governments shady scheme to corner the consumer market and keep lower and middle-class Americans from advancing. It is similar to a "virtual communism" in sense that government officials and large enterprises will be in complete control of the country while they try to keep the "little people" happy by feeding them semi-satisfactory benefits. There will be the King and his courtship, the lords men, then the peasants. Peasants will always be peasants with no opportunity for advancement.....

Which will you be???????

Please feel free to comment.........
A Blast Of Clarity

Fisher Price toy recall

Fisher-Price and parent company Mattel is recalling over 950,000 plastic toys that were made by a vendor in China. After years of rugged chemotherapy, and seeing other family members go through the same treatment, Kanzius decided to take matters into his own hands and research his own solution.

Kanzius was a self-made millionaire and was no stranger to doing things on his own. Although he had no experience or formal training in the medical field, he was determined to find a way to treat cancer without having to go through the harsh chemo regimen.

Since Kanzius had been working with massive radio transmitters all his life, he had a good idea on how the electromagnetic radio frequency works and he came up with a far-fetched idea.

The heat from extreme emissions of radio waves can incinerate any type of metal conductor without harming any non-conductor around it. If there is some way that conductive material can be injected into the body and coated on the cancer cells, the cancer could be killed with a high powered radio emission without harming the other cells.

After some home testing with meat injected with conductive minerals and a radio transmitter, Kanzius proposed this idea to some local health professionals and they were astonished by the idea. The proposal soon caught the mind of David Geller, co-director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Liver Cancer Center, who wanted to test the idea in his lab. Dr. Steven A. Curley, a professor of surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, was also interested the technique.

In August of 2005, the idea was tested in Gellers lab at UPMC. A testube filled with cancer cells was placed in front of a high powered radio transmitter. The tube was filled with carbon nano-particles used as conducters. It's my perspective of how street life is based on what I've seen and heard through some of my good friends who have lived it. Most people see the violence, hostility, and segregation, but there is a lot more to it...

"Imagine yourself waking up at 5:00 am every morning. You live in a two bedroom apartment with your mother, younger brother, and two little sisters. Every morning your in a constant rush to help your mother get the kids ready for school. The stove is broken so cereal is the daily morning breakfast you fix for the young ones while your mother dresses them for school. The rent is due this week, so your mother is in a rush to get to work early to earn some overtime pay. In order to make the extra money, she leaves you responsibility of getting the kids to school.

After dropping everyone off at the school bus stop, you make your way to the daily labor center. Most seventeen year old teens would be in school, but you have to make money to help your mother out with the rent so you were forced to drop out of school.
Since the daily labor center assigns jobs on a first come, first serve basis, you did not get put on the list for work. They tell you to come back tomorrow a little earlier. You really are not too upset about it because you find that it is a good time to go and apply for some stable, reliable jobs that pay more than minimum wage.

After filling out applications for the same jobs that you have applied for and did not get in the past, you make your way to a friends house and gather some dope to make up for the money that was not made today at work. You get a nice variety of narcotics and by the end of the day, you have made over a $600 profit with it. You are amazed by the money made. On any other day you would make some extra pocket cash on small dope deals. However, you never realized how much money a full five hour "hustle" can make you.

After a year, you are swallowed deep in the drug industry. You are a big time supplier for a large clientele in the area. You have moved out of your mother's apartment, bought a new car and now living comfortably. Even though your mother knows about your business and will not accept your offer to buy her a new place and car, she does not mind you occasionally paying the rent or the light bill. Dope sales have become the most important thing in your life now. You would not even consider getting a full time job now because you are already making ten times the amount of cash that you would at a normal job.

The normal, everyday schedule is different now. You leave the house at eight o'clock in the morning with the normal black t-shirt, black flag tied around your neck, blue flag hanging out of the back pocket, and a fitted L.A. Dodger hat. You meet your friends at the local convenience store and pick up some Newports, White Owl cigars, and a forty ounce bottle of St. Ides. While walking out of the store, you recognize a group of Asians slowly riding by in a flashy Mitsubishi Eclipse. They do not look like they are from the neighborhood, so you suspect that something odd is going on.

As you pause to light up a cigarette, there is sudden burst of short, ear shattering explosions. In an instant you hear nothing but the sound of tires screeching, copper bullet shells hitting the pavement, and the screaming of women and children. You instantly shift into a state of mind where you rely on your instinct. Your first instinct tells you to run because you know that something terrible is going on. As you dash away from the scene, you feel several sharp stings to your upper back. However you do not acknowledge it because the only thing on your mind is getting away alive.

As the scene clears, there is nothing but silence. The smell of burnt rubber pollutes the air. The only thing you can hear is the faint cry of the witnesses who were lucky enough to get away from the nightmare. You see your friends motionless and laid about the pavement. You want to check to see if they are still alive, but you hear the sirens of cop cars and ambulances. You have two ounces of cocaine in your pocket, an unregistered firearm tucked in your pants, and a warrant out for your arrest. You realize that you can not be seen by the police or you will go to jail.

You quickly leave the scene in disgust because there was nothing you could do for your friends. It was either go to jail and help friends that could already be dead, or save yourself from getting caught by the police. Since it's already too late to change your mind, you make your way back home.

Several minutes later, you feel lightheaded. The pain in your back is starting to get unbearable. The loss of blood makes you delirious. You are still several miles from home. You feel as if your about to faint but you can not pass out because the cops may find you. Thoughts and questions start running through your mind. Should you get rid of the drugs and the gun in case you pass out? Could this possibly be your last moments alive? Should you change your ways? You try hard to stay conscious and focus on getting home, but everything is getting blurry. Your lack of body function is getting too overwhelming. Your in a desperate panic to make the decision to get some help. Your heart is racing fast and it feels like it is about to burst out of your chest. Your hearing is getting clogged and a constant high pitched ring is all you hear. A tingling sensation overwhelms your body in addition to the sharp pain in your back. Your already severely distorted vision has faded away. Then, all of a sudden, you.....",

Aside from all of the wannabes that get influenced by video games, television, and music, there are really people in society who have to resort to unlawful ways in order to escape poverty. It's not an easy life. It's a shame that the US government is more concerned with rebuilding another nation rather than helping it's own people. Of course that is whole other story.

Just for clarification, i was not raised in a close-to-poverty environment. I had a brief stint of street life when i lived in Phoenix, AZ several years ago. This article is based on what I've seen and heard from good friends of mine...

If anyone has any questions or comments on this topic, feel free to post them regardless of your opinion. I take criticism well....
A Blast Of Clarity

The benefits of sex...

Sex is healthy for a relationship. In Beaverton, Oregon Tanya Anderson, a single and disabled 44 yr. old mother, was accused of violating copyright laws by downloading illegal music.. After finding no evidence of any illegal downloading, the RIAA refused to drop the charges and threatened to interrogate Ms. Anderson's 10 yr. old daughter unless she paid a settlement fee of $4500..
So Ms. Anderson counter sues the RIAA. The suit characterizes the RIAA and its
affiliates as part of a larger criminal enterprise that violated the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). In addition, she alleges claims for negligence, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and deceptive business practices.

here's the whole story:
RIAA

Anyway, I just thought that it's really sad how the RIAA targets people like this. People like music.. and some people cant afford to buy CD's from all of their favorite artists.. it's always the lower and middle class citizens getting busted and fined thousands of dollars for illegal downloads.. It's like the rich robbing from the f'king poor!! With all the money music artists and recording industries spend on useless non-necessities, they shouldn't even acknowledge the fact that people download their music.. they should take it as a compliment.. They're still millionaires, what's a couple thousand dollars to them? They spend that much on a lunch! Maybe a cup of coffee!

I know that there are artists and labels out there that care less if their music is downloaded, because they know that they're still going to make money. So this is really just a shot to a certain group..

And to add to all my venting, there are plenty of underground artists that would be ecstatic if people downloaded their music because they want to be heard, so take it as a COMPLIMENT!!!! THEY LIKE YOUR MUSIC!! THEY ARE FANS, NOT YOUR ENEMIES!! LEAVE THEM ALONE!!

A Blast Of Clarity

10 Techniques to get MORE COMMENTS

1. Invite Comments - I notice that when I specifically invite comments that people leave them in higher numbers than when I don’t. To some degree this confuses me as most of my readers know that they can leave comments on any post - but I guess inviting a comment triggers a response to some extent. Also keep in mind that new readers that are unfamiliar with blogging don’t always know about comments or how to use them - invitations to participate in well laid out and easy to use comments systems are good for helping them participate.

2. Ask Questions - Including specific questions in posts definitely helps get higher numbers of comments. I find that when I include....

read more:
Get More Comments
A Blast Of Clarity

Save Internet Radio!

The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Korea.. as you can see.. and i am sure that there were plenty correct and intellectual answers in the video that were edited out.. but some of these answers were just ridiculous! and i wont lie, i didn't have the answers to some the questions.. i don't know who is in the "axis of evil".. but I would've gave it a good shot.. maybe all the countries harboring nuclear weapons? i don't know.. but my point is for everyone to wake up.. open your eyes.. establish your own opinions... i noticed a majority of reasons for answers were, "because the president thinks so".. what the f**k!! come on people! just because our government thinks one way, doesn't mean the citizens have to! dont be a robot!! we're all human with the power to make our own decisions! think for yourself! watch the news every once in awhile.. we ain't as stupid as they think we are......

i apologize if i offended anyone in this blog, but i had to get my word out..
A Blast Of Clarity

When did America become a nation of frightened wimps?

Steve Olson writes a great piece and poses the question: When did the U.S. go from being a nation of life and liberty to a nation of fear and obedience. I thought it was kind of ballzy, and it might have been better if they said something like, "well, i believe the we are all God's creation" but whatever.. they got respect from me for doing it.. not because i have the same beliefs, but because they are true themselves... anyway, it inspired me to write this blog...

now i'm not a big fan of religion, but i respect other peoples beliefs.. i don't tell them that what they believe is wrong because everyone has their own perspective.. it's their reality, so who i am i to tell someone that their god, Allah, Buddah, or whatever is not real... what's real to them, is simply "real to them"..

some people ask me things like "what happens when you die?" or "explain your view on the creation of the universe"... i tell them what i believe without offending their view in any way.. i don't tell them that my view is the ONLY right way or anything like that because my view is kind of neutral to most religions and i always keep my mind open..

some people think that if religion did not exist, the world would be a better place... That's nonsense!!! although religion has been the spark of many wars and conflict throughout the world, it still holds a good base.. most religions have a set of basic human morals that mold good people.. and not only does it have that, it gives hope to people who need it..

teaching religion in class is important... not preaching! a general religion course in high school or middle school is a good idea for.. information on all religions is a good idea... but preaching must stay in the church, the mosque, or whatever...

changing the constitution and other governmental policies and taking the word "God" out of them is not a good idea.. these scripts were written during a time where the dominant religion was Christianity and they put that word in there... but depending on your view, "god" could interpreted in variety of different ways... there is no sense in changing things that are so insignificant to the actual context of the document, procedure, or whatever it may be.. making small changes like that will piss a lot of people off...

anyways, it's getting late and i could go on forever about this topic....
A Blast Of Clarity

Patience

I've always been one to talk about achieving goals and getting everything wanted in life... through passion, motivation, confidence, and positivity, all dreams can become a reality... whether it be working toward a college degree, becoming a successful business entrepreneur, or getting to top of the music industry, a person must have these qualities to achieve their potential.. Simply put the work in, and it can happen...

However, certain situations may come about that a person has no control over... all a person can do and sit back and see what happens.. the passion and the desire is there and a person may try to do everything to get it... mixed emotions and stress saturate the mind and divert all attention to something that's not controllable.. a person then loses focus on other things that are important... then everything else breaks down because of the loss of attention...

there's only one thing to do when these situations arise... a person must be have patience... not all things come immediately.. the only thing to do is wait... hope for the best, but be ready for the worst.. don't dwell on things uncontrollable.. let things ride out and put it in the back of your mind... if one does not have patience, they have the more potential to influence failure than success...
A Blast Of Clarity

Keys to success in College

The college years are some of the most exciting times of a young person’s life. It is the first taste of freedom and independence from the parents. It is a time when a person will meet new friends from different places and experience new things. Fraternities, sororities, athletics, and other types of clubs and organizations are some fun things that college has to offer. However, despite all the fun and excitement, college requires great deal of self discipline and responsibility to make the college years a success. Successful students are conformable to opinion and able to make their own decisions. They are also responsible, motivated, and able to prioritize their work over other activities.

Prioritizing school work along with other activities is one facet of self discipline. There are a lot of distractions young students may face in the early years of college. They must be focused and maintain a certain degree of will power to overcome the temptation from the other more enjoyable activities. Organization of priorities and recreation relieves much of the stress that students experience. Keeping a planner or some sort of scheduling tool is a good idea. Keeping things organized will help prevent from forgetting assignments and will reduce the amount of “last minute” instances. Being focused and organized is a trait that will not only help people succeed in college, but also in the adult world. The ability to prioritize, organize, and make smart decisions is a key ingredient for successful business entrepreneurs.

Devotion is another important trait for college students. Students can not stay disciplined without incentive. They must have a passion for their field of study. Otherwise, class and homework is just a bore. Sometimes high school graduates are pressured by their parents to enroll in college right after graduation without having any idea on a major. Students without motive are not totally focused on their schooling. As a result, they get bad grades and eventually drop out because of their lack of interest. However, the desire to learn about a subject keeps the focus and attention in the right place. Students should make at least an intelligent guess at what they want to major in during the first year of college. In doing so, the general courses will not be so much of a burden because they have something to look forward too. They get into a focused frame of mind and realize that in order to get to their desired level, they must first gain the necessitous knowledge required.

An open mind may be the most important ingredient in the success of a responsible student. College professors will feed out the logical information needed to pass the course. However, it is the students’ responsibility to take the knowledge gained and use it to their benefit in situations that may come about. The knowledge can be interpreted directly or indirectly. For example, a student may be taking a general algebra course and wondering why it is needed for a degree that is not math related. Despite the fact that the class is required according to the degree program, it is important because the class indirectly teaches the student how to analyze. Although the class directly teaches the processes of interpreting and deciphering equations and numbers, it opens the mind and programs it to understand the processes of general analyzation. As a result, the student will be able to use this rational or analytical skill in other non math related situations.

Organization, prioritization, motive, and an open mind are all aspects of responsibility and self discipline. Responsibility and self discipline are the core ingredients to a successful college career. Once students realize and accept this philosophy, the good grades and attendance come easier. It is similar to a professional boxer working to get the title. There is more to the fighter’s success than conditioning and practice. It takes passion, will power, and self discipline to get to the top of his weight class. The same goes for college students. Passion, self discipline, will power, and all other ways of thinking discussed are the key elements to a successful college career.
A Blast Of Clarity
