The man stabbed is Scott Jones, who is known to be openly gay–yup, right where things get saucy.

It isn’t made quite clear, but it’s already assumed that the men who attacked him must not have been gay, but homophobic–thus why they attacked him.

That is where the stereotypes come in.

Sure, in most cases we hear about on the news and internet, in which gay victim(s) are harmed by straight people, they are hate crimes. And of course, hate crimes are bad things as they show these ‘haters’ are ignorant and would rather pick out a general thing about a person and place it with a related stereotype. But, in all cases, are these tragic events hate crimes? That’s also a huge stereotype going around.

In the video, it is said that police said “It’s too early to call it a hate crime.” Hold on! All of a sudden, we’re jumping to assumptions–and denying it?? Is that not what we’re being taught not to do?

You may notice the similarities going on here: yes, people shouldn’t jump to the assumption of “Oh my gosh! He/she is gay! That’s so gross!”, but what about assuming that conflicts between people of different sexual orientations (or any other class) is automatically a hate crime?

When there are conflicts between people of same class, no one would ever think of it involving hate. Even most of those aren’t to do with hate. It’s usually due to hormonal overload.

So, isn’t it hateful or homophobic… or whatever the heck it is you wanna call it… to just, on the spot, assume a conflict between people of different classes is because of hate? Can people of different classes, in this example, gay vs straight, not have conflict over something that does not involve hate?

The murder of Jun Lin, for example, which happened about a year or so ago, involved the victim (Jun Lin) who was Asian and the attacker (Luka Magnotta) who was gay. And, with this case, there was nothing saying that Magnotta committed his crime out of hate against Lin. As far as documents show, Magnotta was just sick in the mind for gore. Not to mention, who‘d have thought this case was a hate crime? After all, the gay person isn’t the victim! Then again, either the Asian the attacker! What if Jun Lin was cutting up Magnotta? Hate crime? Lin just sick in the mind for gore?

The last thing that I wanna get to is that, well, who should care if this is a hate crime! For sure, it would be nice if people weren’t so ignorant to just commit a heinous crime, and that (openly) LGBT people could feel safer in their own home just because of who they are. With that, let me add on to that question: who should care if this is a hate crime when it goes to court and charges are placed?? Can’t people just be charged for murder, without being charged for their beliefs? By the way, there are places where they let you charge extra just for the hate crimes: Alberta and Quebec, ON, and most countries in Europe! Or at least they used to pull that crap in Alberta…

To close, people are just being too close-minded, whether it’s about homosexuality OR why the bloody heck a crime against a person of different class was committed. Because, yes, it would be so much nicer if people were not so ignorant!

Welcome to the sixth episode of the BLAZONNATION Podcast! This week we finally have another T’urds-day episode featuring a few articles, and an open letter about Star Wars!

So, just a little recap:

One day, Justin Carter was playing League of Legends with a complete stranger over the internet–quite normal. They obvious did not get along–quite normal still. Then, on Facebook, the stranger called Carter ‘insane’… or whatever other synonym you can come up with. In response to this, Justin Carter replied “Oh yeah, I’m real messed up in the head, I’m going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts”, and an ‘LOL’ (laugh(ing) out loud) and a ‘JK’ (just kidding or joking) on the following 2 lines. This, really, is also quite normal.

Unfortunately, though, such normality wasn’t taken lightly as a Canadian women reported this to the police, and, BOOM!, Justin Carter is in jail with the bail set to a frigging outrageous half-million buckaroos! And they put this ‘offense’ under being a ‘terrorist threat’!

In my previous post on this topic, I focused mostly on the lack of evidence, and the ignorance towards media the boy supposedly had… Oh, and not to mention the supreme violation of freedom of speech in the case! But a freaking huge factor that–I forgot to involve… yes, my bad focusing brain–these players of these multiplayer games say this BS all the freaking TIME! Even on other parts of Facebook, or YouTube! I can still remember, on this YouTube video about a gay kid’s suicide, a comment from a user saying “Yay, another gay dead!”* There’s more! “Go kill yourself” statements… “I [word here] your mom last night”s. Et cetera! You don’t see these jerks getting arrested!

Another funny thing:

Remember the Amanda Todd suicide? “Life’s A Bleach” memes? Still doesn’t ring a bell? The girl who entrusted a total stranger on Facebook, or where ever the heck this was, with an image of her bare breasts, after he somehow “gained” her trust. Oh, you do remember now? Okay, then! Do you see the total 180 here? Alright, lemme explain…

Amanda Todd’s case: they want to charge the ‘cyberbullies’ for saying what they said–yes, as well as the scumbag stranger who blackmailed her, but this isn’t gonna be about the child pornography charges he’d get–which brought on her depression, and later suicide?

Another case involves the Maritimes girl who had the video of her own rape spread across the internet. Not all the people involved were involved in the distribution of this rape video. Some just made fun of her–like the Amanda Todd case: no file sharing, just words used.

And then you look at Justin Carter’s case: another LoL player calls him retarded on Facebook–marks him a cyberbully–and Carter’s reaction takes what the LoL player says, and expands it. Does this not make Justin Carter a victim of cyberbullying? Then why, when these court system dummies want to charge cyberbullies, that in this case, they want to charge the victim? Then again, sure it’s America, and they’re pretty screwed up right now (NSA, gun control, Bradley Manning, Obamacare, etc.), but still! Is there not some influence between our countries? We’re only separated by 1 border and by 2 governments.

Do you see this magical… okay, it’s not magical… but do you see this total 180, now?

Anyhow, it’s getting late on me already…

My verdict on this is Justin Carter’s message is important–watch what you say online, ’cause these sons of buggers who don’t know what the frig the first amendment means can sue ya for it easy-peasy. Also, kudos and congratulations on your release, Justin Carter! Although, you should’ve never had to be released, nor arrested, as this whole case is stupid–lacks worthiness and evidence, closed-minded on the court system’s part, and, again, a supreme violation of freedom of speech!

As for this one, by the name Justin Carter, he was playing online with a stranger over the Internet on the online videogame called League of Legends. After the game, he and the stranger engaged in more contact via Facebook exchanging comments that would later end up in Carter’s arrest.

After the stranger called Carter “insane,  crazy, messed up in the head”, he responded “Oh yeah, I’m real messed up in the head, I’m going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts”, and an ‘LOL’ (laugh(ing) out loud) and a ‘JK’ (just kidding or joking) on the following 2 lines. Unfortunately, the stranger did not take this comment lightly, as did many more along the way. This very comment even had a Canadian woman, who saw it on Facebook, report it to the police.

On 14 February 2013 (aka Valentine’s Day), Justin Carter was arrested, charged with making a terrorist threat. He has since then been in jail, waiting for his trial date, on 16 July 2013.

Now, the first mistake? I suppose you could say that is contacting a stranger via a service that is meant for its members to only socialize with those whom they know in real life–other than using pages. 2nd mistake? Of course, his comment–sarcastic or not. I would say “Let’s see the facts, shall we?’, but the problem is, according to his father, Justin Carter was one of those who did not stay updated with any news. Thus he mayn’t know about the Sandy Hook–although it was all over the place, even ask Barrack Obama–or even the other incident similar to his: Mr  “Drivin drunk… classsic but to whoever’s vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P”.

As for how the justice system is dealing with him, true, his post was obnoxious, but here’s some facts:

• Note the ‘LOL’ and ‘JK’ at the end of his post, and the difference between what he said with and without those two shorthanded terms;
• The First Amendment of the American Constitution–freedom of speech, religion/beliefs, press, and so on; and
• The lack of evidence against Justin Carter–no firearms in their home, and the parents’ claims of their child’s behaviour defying so-called “terrorist” claims.

Honestly, before reading a little more, I, too, was against any support for the release of this boy, as he got what he deserved–screwing around on the Internet like he did, making smart-alec-y comments. But, like other cases, it’s a waste to get the law involved in the impedance of one’s freedom by the the First, as there is evidence of sarcasm, and, again, the parents’ claims of his behaviour–which lacks the support this case should need to pull through (hey, they could always abuse their authority to screw up how the case is handled). So, as many say, this is an overreaction, and all the brat should’ve had was a grounding–at tops–no need for bars, although, such seems to have the boy punished enough as he seems to have his learned his lesson(s).

I believe this boy should have another chance–and with the lesson(s) he’s learned.

The co-founder of a dumb screw-up-firearms-technology corporation, Charlie Miller of Safe Gun Technology has invented a finger-print scanning technology that would be used for activating the firearm so it could be used.

Later on in this passage, you will find a bad argument — by bad, I mean useless, irrelevant, some other word, or what-have-you.

Miller said his company’s technology has nothing to do with any pro- or anti-gun position he holds. It’s just about safety, he said. He also believes smart gun technology should be market driven and not enforced by government regulations.

Now, hey, this may not be so much an argument, but from the rest of the text, it is quite obvious there is siding going on.

First off, the first sentence of the article tells you what he means for the technology:

… has a message for people who think smart-gun technology wouldn’t have stopped Adam Lanza from killing 26 in Newtown, Conn. last December.

And then, in the second paragraph, he boasts his useless technology.

In the fifth, he makes a claim of what it would supposedly change…

As for the second-to-last paragraph, he makes a statement whose reality will really never come true. Or, at least, firearm owners that know what’s right would keep away from his bloody toy. He is basically saying that if manufacturers stopped, the “more than 300 million of them out there” would acquire his toy — judging from

We’ve dedicated well over 10 years to come up with this solution.

Lastly, to close up this argument, he states in his motto that their toy will lead to miracles for children and those around them. Peh! What the real miracle to happen would be is to have better availability and access to mental-health facilities! And, hey, who said the kid couldn’t figure it out how to break past the oh-so-great Smart Gun Technology??

Really, though, how are we going to help the mentally ill or unstable children just by giving them a gun that doesn’t work? The only differences that might make are either the kid, again, break past the lock OR use a different item for a weapon to pull off whatever rampage they so hellishly desire. So, in conclusion, this “smart” Gun Technology really is just dumb and will turn out to be useless, and it definitely won’t save any lives–just like gun control never will.

UPDATE [6 June 2013]: A bit ago, I discovered that there was an Indiegogo campaign for Charles Miller’s Smart Gun Technology, found here http://www.indiegogo.com/individuals/3228842/campaigns, which goes to say that he, quite obviously, is trying to pull off crap that just won’t work.

The infamous YouTube user “Rupert Devlin” has gone through video after video–popularly the “Angry Video Game Nerd” videos–and has mocked other users about their comments, or mock the video.

On this video, YouTube user “RichardKidd2010” commented on his self-proclaimed hatred against Devlin–talking about a group that is against him and arresting him for insulting other YouTube users. Back to the first paragraph, in the quote, he states that Devlin has insulted 85% (much emphasis on this) of YouTube users–now, THAT, I must say, is a HUGE lot of the users on YouTube–although, I may be wrong.

As for all this crap about getting Devlin banned, it’s simple as to why he will never be banned:

1. He is a troll: trolling is allowed on YouTube as far as it goes,
2. There is nothing in the YouTube ToS (Terms of Service) that says what he does is a bannable offense.

And the most simple reason to why he can never be arrested:

• Search up “US Amendments”, “first amendment”, etc., and CAREFULLY READ AMENDMENT.

Lastly, after my–as Mr ‘Kidd’ claims it to be–defense of Devlin, Mr ‘Kidd’ takes to make himself look not any better than Devlin (feel free to testify), by cursing blue thunder at me, and calling me a “right c**t” for my support of the first amendment–true, I am in the right… but I am definitely not a female’s part.

I might just sum it up in a future post, but it goes without saying:

Trolls–like Rupert Devlin–are like real-life bullies–just more humourous–they will say something to peeve you off. The really funny part is when you react to it–that’s how they get paid. Not to say that you can’t pay them, that would kill everyone else’s laughs! But, before you dare to, for some reason, decide that you will charge them with anything, please remember, deep down in your heart, they are only trolling you.
