It's been a while since we've seen a decent celebrity death rumor so I guess this was about due. On Saturday, a rumor is making it's way around the internet that Robert Pattinson is dead.

According to reports, Robert Pattinson was found dead in his hotel room in New York after a heroin overdose.

Ironically, almost this exact same rumor circulated just about a year ago.

Robert Pattinson is STILL not dead yet. In fact, New Moon is shattering all kinds of box office records, which is probably what led to the rumor.

Move along, folks. Nothing more to see here.

‘New Moon’ Opening Night Sales Smash ‘Harry Potter’ Record

Harry Potter just got pwned.

Summit Entertainment says "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" did over $26 million in midnight ticket sales on Thursday night, smashing the record set over the summer by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

On top of that, the original "Twilight," which was re-released in movie theaters on Thursday night, did another $1.2 million in sales.

Friday morning ticket sales for "New Moon" have also been enormous, reportedly already totaling $14 million.

This gets the award for "Most Unlikely Brawl." On Wednesday night, Marv Albert was a featured guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The musical guest that evening was 50 Cent.

Albert arrived at the studio with TNT's P.R. specialist Jeff Pomeroy as Marv was in town for the Lakers / Bulls game, which was to be broadcast on TNT the following night.

It seems as though Marv Albert and 50 Cent don't hang out in the same circles as 50's people were unfamiliar with Albert, resulting in a minor skirmish backstage, according to a source.

As the brawl was escalating, a Jimmy Kimmel show guard yelled, "It's Marv Albert," which had virtually no effect on the 50 Cent crew.

Fists went flying. Someone overheard, "Don't you put your hands on me!"

Albert finally managed to get back to his waiting room.

"Did you see that?" he said. "I thought they were kidding, but then I realized they weren't."

It's a good thing 50 Cent's people didn't yell, "Bite me!"

Icebreaker Fail: The Captain Khlebnikov Gets Stuck in Ice

A Russian cruise ship that has been struggling for days to pass through a huge chunk of ice has finally broken free and reached open water off of the coast of Antarctica.

The Captain Khlebnikov icebreaker, which was carrying 101 passengers, got jammed up in the ice earlier this week in the Weddell Sea off Antarctica. It took the troubled ship five days to free itself, according to Fareastern Shipping Co. spokesperson Tatyana Kulikova.

Of course, my question would be, why does an icebreaker have 101 passengers on it in the first place? Didn't they realize that it might get stuck - in ice?

Kulikova says it should now take the icebreaker three more days to return to Ushuaia on the Argentine coast. It will be arriving one full week late, thanks to it getting stuck in the ice, ice baby.

Officials said the passengers never were in any danger.

The cruise was advertised as a unique opportunity to watch emperor penguins in their natural habitat. The Finnish-built icebreaker has been used as a cruise ship for several years and carries two helicopters.

Kulikova said the icebreaker is scheduled to make another Antarctic cruise in the fall.

Two-week tours aboard the Captain Khlebnikov to see emperor penguins range from $13,890 to $22,690 per person.

Ah, so that explains it. Shell out 20 grand to go see some penguins - then get stuck in ice for a week. Sounds like a real shindig. Think I'll stick to watching them on The Discovery Channel while sitting in front of my fireplace.

Unlike other viral internet rumors that say that something tragic happened to Miley Cyrus, there is sad news to report this Friday.

One person was killed this morning when Miley's tour bus overturned. The 16-year-old "Hannah Montana" actress was not on board the bus at the time, however.

Sgt. Thomas Molnar of the Virginia State police says the tour bus ran off the left side of highway 85, hit an embankment and flipped over. The accident happened around 8 a.m. EST about 40 miles south of Richmond.

The driver who was killed hasn't been named pending notification of next of kin. One other person suffered minor injuries.

It must have been a bad accident, however, as the passengers had to exit the tour bus through the front windshield.

The bus was one of four heading to North Carolina together after the Cyrus' two-show stay on Wednesday and Thursday in New York.

Do you smell that? Something evil is cooking and Kirk Cameron's insidious plan to derail "Darwin Day," which is coming up on November 22.

Cameron recently put the video below up on his blog announcing his scheme to sabotage "Darwin Day, an event marking the 150th anniversary of the publishing of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species."

The former "Growing Pains" actor turned preachy Christian will send "Darwin Day" into utter turmoil by distributing 50,000 copies of Darwin's book to unsuspecting students at colleges around the U.S. Here's the catch: Kirk Cameron's copies of the book will be altered to include passages from the Gospel (insert evil Kirk Cameron laugh here).

"This is a beautiful 304-page color edition of Darwin’s famous 'Origin of Species,'" says Cameron. "So who isn’t going to take it and say, 'Thank you very much'?"

What would we do without you to save us from our evil ways, Kirk Cameron?

James Van Der Beek and Heather McComb to Divorce

Actor James Van Der Beek has filed for divorce from his wife, actress Heather McComb, after being married for almost six years.

Van Der Beek is most known for his role as Dawson Leery on the WB series Dawson’s Creek. He filed for the divorce based on the wonderfully generic grounds of "irreconcilable differences" in L.A. Superior Court last Friday.

James Van Der Beek, 32, recently did four episodes of One Tree Hill and been in other big-screen films like Varsity Blues and The Rules of Attraction. Heather McComb has been a supporting actress in various movies and TV shows.

The couple got hitched in July of 2003, but have been separated for almost five months now. They have no children together.

Christina Ambers Lawsuit: Talk to the Hand!

Christina Ambers, a top hand & foot model in New York, has filed a lawsuit against her upscale apartment complex, claiming the board is attempting to force her out due to the fact that she married its former porter, Angel Rotger.

Ambers bought a 700 square foot apartment in 2003 at 340 E. 74th Street.

She has now filed a $10 million lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court against residents and management of the same building known as the Avon House.

The lawsuit claims Rotger lost his job and that several building employees forced her to hail her own taxis and retrieve her own packages after the couple became romantically involved. The couple married in July.

The suit claims residents object to "a Hispanic former porter" living in the building.

Building lawyer Joe Colbert has said that the claims are simply without merit.

Need proof that men are stubborn and don't like to ask for directions?

An 81-year-old man in Australia who went out to get his morning newspaper ended up driving almost 400 miles after getting lost and taking a wrong turn onto a highway, according to local police. Eric Steward eventually stopped and asked for directions after driving for nine hours. Nine hours!

I don't know about you, but if I step out to get a newspaper, I'm getting a little suspicious after the first 30 minutes or so have gone by.

Steward says he made a wrong turn and just kept on going.

"I just went out on the road to have a drive, a nice peaceful drive," he said, adding that he doesn't need a GPS as he's only been lost once. What a doozy of a second attempt!

Steward, who had no idea where he was, pulled over and went up to a policeman at a gas station and asked for help.

"This little old man came up to me saying he was lost. He handed me his mobile and asked if I could speak to his wife," said Victorian Police Senior Constable Clayton Smith.

Ah, that explains it. He was married. Maybe he was just after a little peace and quiet.

Ricky Martin said on Thursday that he plans to join forces with with a German broadcaster to support his foundation and build a children's youth center in his native Puerto Rico.

Martin says he's going to join RTL on a telethon to raise funds to build the center in Loiza, near the capital, San Juan.

"The idea is to build a center, a safe haven for children that are at risk of exploitation, which is the main mission of my foundation."

The RTL telethon Thursday and Friday is also raising money for other international and German children's charities.

I used to have a crush on Mariah Carey. After hearing about some of her bat-shit crazy antics over the past few years, I'm over it.

Mariah Carey has requested to have 20 white kittens at a "switching on the Christmas lights" ceremony. The request has been denied.

It seems Carey wanted the young cats (and 100 white doves to boot!) to accompany her at a ceremony at Westfield shopping center in London.

Get this - she also wants to be showered with butterfly-shaped confetti (her favorite insect) while standing on a pink podium and waving a magic wand. Yes, a freaking magic wand!

The diva will arrive in a Rolls Royce and be accompanied by mere a 80 security guards and her 15-person entourage.

Most of her demands have been met, but health and safety officials refused to provide the kittens and doves, as animals are forbidden in the complex.

Rumor has it that the type of car had to be changed six times until one was found that he people approved of.

Mariah Carey, who will appear on UK talent show "The X Factor" this weekend, recently admitted she loves being a diva, but - she doesn’t think she is demanding enough.

She said, “You know what? I guess I am a diva in many ways! When it comes to certain things, yes, I can be difficult and a little bit rigid about what I want.

“Am I demanding? I don’t think I’m demanding enough.”

Time for me to find another fantasy. Maybe Paris Hilton. She seems pretty sane.

Janet Jackson recently sat down with ABC for an interview in her Malibu beach home. The piece, In the Spotlight With Robin Roberts, was broadcast on Wednesday night and covered her personal experiences in the weeks following the death of her brother, Michael Jackson.

Janet says that returning to the recording studio has given her new strength. She has a new two-disc greatest hits collection, Number Ones, that contains the new release "Make Me," which is a tribute to the Michael Jackson classic "Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough."

As for Dr. Conrad Murray, Janet says, “He was the one administering the drug, I feel he was responsible for Michael’s death. I don’t feel he should be practicing, so this could happen to someone else.”

Senator John Kerry is on his daughter's side over her DUI bust this morning in Los Angeles. He seems a to be in denial about why they busted her, however.

The Senator says that Alexandra Kerry blew only a .06, which is under California's legal limit of .08. The Senator also claims that she wasn't pulled over for driving drunk but rather for having expired tags.

A representative for Kerry states, "Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter."

The Senator failed to mention that flunked sobriety test, though. Still, law enforcement sources indicate it's unlikely prosecutors will file any charges.

Model Daul Kim Dead at 20

Korean model Daul Kim was found dead at the age of 20 in Paris on Thursday morning. The exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but sources seem to indicate that she committed suicide.

Kim was a fan favorite within fashion circles due to her gorgeous editorials and honest interviews. She kept a blog called I Like to Fork Myself, where she shared her favorite videos and insights about modeling. She would also often post pictures of the "kitschy" paintings she would create at times.

Daul Kim's agents at Next have issued the following statement:

"She was a top model and a great friend to all of us at Next. Please respect her family’s privacy at this time of sadness. We will all miss her very much."

North Pole, Alaska Goes Scrooge: Won’t Answer Santa Letters

The U.S. Postal Service has gone Scrooge this year by shutting down a program in North Pole, Alaska where volunteers responded to letters sent to Santa Claus. The program answered thousands upon thousands of letters every year.

The program will go on elsewhere in the U.S., but privacy concerns have led to more restrictions, and those tighter restrictions just aren't possible in Alaska.

Why all the fuss? In 2008, a post office employee in Maryland noticed that one Operation Santa volunteer was registered as a sex offender. Fortunately, the employee intervened before the volunteer could answer a child's letter, but the Post Office decided it was time to tighten things up.

The most visible effect of the Alaska shutdown will be that generically addressed to "Santa Claus, North Pole" won't be sent to the little Alaska town of 2,100, and therefore kids won't get a response back with a "North Pole" postmark.

North Pole Mayor Doug Isaacson isn't happy about the change. He agrees that change is necessary but he's upset that North Pole's program has been affected by a sex offender on the East Coast. He also thinks it's unfair that residents just found out about the change.

Isaacson says:

"It's Grinchlike that the Postal Service never informed all the little elves
before the fact. They've been working on this for how long?"

The three words that best describe this change are as follows, and I quote, "Stink, Stank, Stunk."

FAA Computer Glitch Wreaks Havoc on Airports

Air travelers across the country were left changing their plans on Thursday morning as an FAA computer glitch wreaked widespread havoc on regional airports.

The Federal Aviation Administration now says that the glitch lasted for about four hours and was corrected by 9 a.m., but it's effects are still being felt by many travelers whose flights have been delayed or canceled.

The trouble began when a piece of networking equipment at a computer center in Salt Lake City crashed at about 5 a.m., according to an official FAA statement.

That kept air traffic control computers in other parts of the USA from communicating with each other. Air traffic controllers had to input complex flight plans themselves as they couldn't be automatically transferred from computers in one part of the country to computers in another, thereby crippling the entire system.

Two computer centers in Salt Lake City and near Atlanta were affected, along with 21 regional radar centers around the country.
