“CIA Tango down,” a member of Anonymous tweeted via @YourAnonNews, a Twitter feed used by the group.

“Tango down” is an expression used by U.S. Special Forces when they have eliminated an enemy.

Attempts to access the CIA website at www.cia.gov were unsuccessful.

The CIA has not yet commented on the matter.

Just last month, Anonymous knocked the official websites of the U.S. Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation offline.

Those attacks were in retaliation for the shutdown of file-sharing website Megaupload.

Anonymous has not elaborated on their reasons for taking out the CIA website.

Most Anonymous attacks are distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks in which a large number of computers are commanded to simultaneously visit a website, thus overwhelming its servers.

Weibo users credited “reliable sources” (almost always a good indicator that a hoax is playing out) and said the incident took place at the North Korean embassy in Beijing.

Here’s one version of the death rumor posted by Gawker, as cleaned up from the crappy Google translation:

According to reliable sources, North Korean leader [Kim Jong-Un was killed] in Beijing in February 10 2012, at 2 o’clock and 45 minutes. Unknown persons broke into his residence shot and were subsequently shot and killed by the bodyguard.

Chinese web users are already speculating that the assassination of Kim Jong-Un was a military coup.

They’ve begun posting fuzzy pictures purporting to show an unusual number of vehicles parked at the North Korean embassy.

ChinaSMACK staff writer Joe Xu suggests that reports of a large number of vehicles at the embassy may have led to the rumor.

The rumor also quickly made its way over to Twitter, even making it into the site’s Trending Topics list this afternoon.

Shortly after this death last year, multiple rumors floated around the internet suggesting that his father Kim Jong-Il was assassinated.

The boys were killed when their father, Josh Powell, blew up the house last weekend in a horrific murder-suicide.

Fred Phelps Jr., founder of Kansas-based WBC, tweeted today that hate group had scrapped the protest after getting an interview on a syndicated radio show.

“Just finished interview with @BobbyDshow. Bobby D. was a real gentleman. Washington trip now cancelled.”

Fred’s daughter Margie Phelps also confirmed the cancellation.

Phelps originally said yesterday that the WBC was planning to attend the Powell boys‘ funeral as a protest against the pending legalization of gay marriage in Washington state.

That elicited a fierce backlash among many locals, including members of Occupy Seattle, who vowed to block the Westboro protesters if they showed up.

Alina Powell, Josh Powell’s sister, called the planned protest “a horrible, disdainful act that serves no purpose other than to continue the years-long objectification of those little boys.”

Fred Phelps Jr. later said the group wouldn’t protest if the group was granted an interview with the Bobby D. Show. After the interview, Phelps tweeted that the protest was canceled.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) signed off on the first new nuclear reactors since 1978 yesterday.

Atlanta-based Southern Company can begin to move forward with a pair of Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear reactors at its Vogtle nuclear station near Waynesboro.  The NRC voted to approve the project, clearing the way for the commission to issue a combined license for the operation and construction of the reactors.

The AP1000 is one of a new breed of pressurized-water reactors equipped with passive safety features that are designed to prevent overheating in the event of a power loss like the one that occurred at the Fukushima plant in the wake of the Japan earthquake. The new reactors also have sturdier designs that are meant to better withstand quakes and plane crashes.

“Today marks an advancement in our nation’s energy policy,” Southern Company chief executive Thomas Fanning said at a press conference. “The project is on track, and our targets related to cost and schedule are achievable.”

The 5-member NRC voted in favor of the licenses 4-to-1, with Chairman Gregory Jaczko dissenting.

Jaczko said the new licenses don’t go far enough in requiring the builders to incorporate lessons learned from the Japanese nuclear disaster last year.

There are currently 104 operating nuclear reactors at 64 plants across the U.S. Half of those are over 30 years old.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Star Wars” creator George Lucas sounds off on “Indiana Jones 5“, SOPA, and the eternal question of who shot first.

In the original version of the film, Han Solo clearly shoots Greedo first, reinforcing his character’s image of an intergalactic bad-ass mofo.  In later edits of the movie, it’s made to look as though Greedo shoots first and misses, thus softening Han’s character up a bit, as he’s now fired his shot in self-defense…a change that has always enraged die-hard “Star Wars” fans.

Lucas tells THR:

“The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo [who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original] to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn’t. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down.”

So really, folks, you were just confused about who shot first all this time.

Lucas also explains why he replaced puppet Yoda with CGI Yoda in “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace“…

“It’s the same thing with Yoda. We tried to do Yoda in CGI in Episode I, but we just couldn’t get it done in time. We couldn’t get the technology to work, so we had to use the puppet, but the puppet really wasn’t as good as the CGI. So when we did the reissue, we had to put the CGI back in, which was what it was meant to be.”

George Lucas has no qualms “altering” his movies, as he sees the changes he makes along the way as “improvements.”

“Star Wars, there’s basically one version – it just keeps getting improved a little bit as we move forward…All art is technology and it improves every year. Whether it’s on the stage or in music or in painting, there are technological answers that happen, and because movies are so technological, the advances become more obvious.”

So there you have it. Does that make you feel any better?

As for me, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…George, please die now and stop f–king up our movies.

Youkilis first met Julie at a postgame party at Patriot Place last year, just after the New York Jets booted the New England Patriots from the 2010 playoffs.

Youk was in Brady’s suite at Lucas Oil Stadium for Super Bowl XLVI to watch Tommy and the Pats lose to the New York Giants.

The couple dated for a year before deciding to take the plunge.

Julie Brady is a schoolteacher with a five-year-old daughter. So far, it looks like the ceremony will be held during the off-season in California, where the Bradys are from.

“He’s really lucky,” a friend Kevin’s said. “She’s a really nice person, but all the Bradys are nice people.”

It will be her first marriage and his second, though technically his first.

Youkilis was kind of sort of married to Ben Affleck’s ex, Enza Sambataro, although the couple never really filed the proper paperwork. Hopefully, things will be more organized this time around.

Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee no longer will have to meet the 2014 targets established by the law, Obama and other White House officials announced yesterday.

No Child Left Behind, the program that became the cornerstone of President George W. Bush’s education plan, requires all students to be grade-level proficient in reading and math by 2014. Critics say that goal is unrealistic, produces too much teach-to-the-test instruction, and means too many schools are labeled failures.

The ten states getting waivers will get a break on the NCLB goals in exchange for providing detailed plans for preparing their students for college and careers, establishing new goals for improving student achievement, rewarding high-performing schools, and getting aid to those students that are underperforming.

Obama announced the No Child Left Behind waiver plan back in September as part of his “we can’t wait” series of executive orders.

“I said [in September] the goals of No Child Left Behind were the right ones. Standards and accountability — those are the right goals. Closing the achievement gap, that’s a good goal. That’s the right goal. We’ve got to stay focused on those goals,” Obama said Thursday. “But we’ve got to do it in a way that doesn’t force teachers to teach to the test, or encourage schools to lower their standards to avoid being labeled as failures. That doesn’t help anybody. It certainly doesn’t help our children in the classroom.”

Every states had the opportunity to request the waivers, Obama said, and 39 states expressed interest.

After noticing smoke seeping inside, Lindora Richardson rushed the six children off her vehicle.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon as Richardson was driving the kids home from Chantilly Montessori Elementary School, a public school in Charlotte, school district spokeswoman Tahira Stalberte said.

“We are very proud of her and for her following proper procedures,” said Stalberte, speaking on behalf of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, on Thursday. “It could have taken a very different turn had she not done her job correctly.”

Richardson said she was driving on her route through a Charlotte neighborhood when she thought she noticed a “burning smell” and pulled over to check it out.

“As that was going on, smoke started to come from under the dash of the bus,” she recalled.

At that moment, Richardson decided to get the kids off of the bus.  Describing the children as “calm,” she said that they exited “one-by-one” through the rear emergency exit.

The bus driver said she and the students, ages 5 to 10, then “walked so far up the street” where they witnessed flames quickly engulf the vehicle.

Flames completely overtook the bus in about a minute, and fire quickly shot up through the roof.

There are were thankfully no injuries.

Next week, Richardson will be honored for her quick thinking by the Charlotte Fire Department.

“I do have two kids, and I do love children, (and) I love my job,” Richardson said of the satisfaction she gets working as a bus driver.

Well, Tommy Jordan is one dad who’s not going to take it any more.

You see, Tommy’s 15-year-old daughter posted a smart-mouthed, profanity-laced rant on Facebook to her “lazy” parents.  She didn’t think her dad would ever see it.

Well, he did.

He decided to post this video response to her Facebook wall.  After expressing his severe disappointment in his daughter and reminding her of how easy she’s got it, he takes out his pistol and SHOOTS her laptop – several times.

With so many abusive parents beating their kids these days, it’s nice to see a sensible dad who handles things the right way.

Finally, Jordan tells his daughter that whenever she’s no longer grounded, in “whatever year that may be,” she can go buy herself her own new laptop.

This video is going mega-viral, with over a million views since Wednesday.

In the description, Tommy says:

“My daughter thought it would be funny/rebellious/cool to post on her Facebook wall just how upset she was and how unfair her life here is; how we work her too hard with chores, never pay her for chores, and just in general make her life difficult.

She chose to share this with the entire world on Facebook and block her parent’s from seeing it. Well, umm… she failed. As of the end of this video, she won’t have to worry anymore about posting inappropriate things on Facebook…

Maybe a few kids can take something away from this… If you’re so disrespectful to your parents and yourself as to post this kind of thing on Facebook, you’re deserving of some tough love. Today, my daughter is getting a dose of tough love.”

He’s going to drop the “Ochocinco” surname and go back to just being Chad Johnson.

You see, Ochocinco intends on marrying his Basketball Wives girlfriend Evelyn Lozada, and it seems she may not be to keen on becoming Evelyn Ochocinco.

The wide receiver has therefore told his friends he’ll be changing his name back to Johnson to avoid any issues.

He changed his name to Chad Ochocinco in 2008 playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, much to the chagrin of the NFL.

A Tennessee couple who “unfriended” a woman were murdered in their home by the jilted woman’s father and another man, according to police.

“It’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” said Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece, adding that he’d never seen anything like it in his 27 years on the job. “We’ve had murders, but nothing like this. This is just senseless.”

Billy Clay Payne, Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth were killed in January after they removed Jenelle Potter, the daughter of one of the suspects, from their “friends” list. Both victims had been shot in the head and the man had his throat slit.

Their eight-month-old baby was in the mother’s arms, unharmed.

Marvin Enoch “Buddy” Potter Jr., 60, and Jamie Lynn Curd, 38, were each charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The men were arrested on Tuesday.

Reece said that a couple of harassment cases had been filed in court against Jenelle Potter recently due to someone “blocking her” on Facebook or “taking her off.”

“Once you’ve crossed her, you’ve crossed her father too,” Reece said.

Her father will head back to court next week for a bond hearing after he hires an attorney.

Curd, who is also a second cousin to one of the two victims, was appointed an attorney and bond was set at $750,000 for each murder count. His preliminary hearing will be held next month.

No charges have been filed against Jenelle Potter, the sheriff said. She could not reached for comment.

Curd’s attorney says it’s “safe to say there’s more to it than the Facebook problem, it appears.”

It just seems senseless to me to kill someone over Facebook. How long will it be before people who use FourSquare start killing people who take their mayorship away?

Dangerous times we’re living in. Dangerous times indeed.

The first thing you’re likely to notice about the Tesla Model X are its unique “falcon wing” rear doors. Instead of opening to the side, as regular minivan doors often do, these “falcon wing” doors open upwards instead, resembling the wings of a bird when they’re open.

The doors feature a double hinge so that they take up less horizontal space when opening, which comes in handy in tight spaces.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the doors give the Model X the largest door openings of any passenger car.

The Tesla Model X features seven seats and storage space in both the rear trunk and the front trunk, and it is touted to handle much like a sports car. The Model X accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds, which is fairly impressive for an electric vehicle.

The Model X is said to be priced similarly to the Model S ($50,000 to $70,000) and will have a slightly lower electric driving range than the Model S, which comes in 3 options – 160 miles, 230 miles, and 300 miles.

Musk says he doesn’t expect the Model X prototype to change very much in its looks and design when it reaches production. Most changes would be done simply to improve aerodynamics. The car keeps many of the design elements of the Model S, although with a slightly higher roof-line.

Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen says he tried to design the car so as not to look too masculine or feminine.

The Tesla Model X is set to enter production in 2013, with sales beginning in 2014.

The new video shows a live woolly mammoth, an animal the scientists say has been extinct for thousands of years, crossing a river.

The “jaw-dropping” footage was allegedly filmed by a government-employed engineer last summer in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region of Siberia.

Many are already calling the video a hoax, as the man who posted the piece, a paranormal enthusiast named Michael Cohen, has been involved with several other videos of UFOs and other unexplained phenomena that are of questionable authenticity.

The video is also quite short, a mere 10 seconds. If someone had actually seen a woolly mammoth, don’t you think they would have kept filming a bit longer?

To me, it just looks like perhaps a baby elephant crossing a river.

We know scientists want to clone a woolly mammoth in the near future, but I don’t think we’re quite there yet.
