From Homeless and Hopeless

From Homeless and Hopeless to Empowering and Serving Those In Need — Happy Thanksgiving!

David Sharpe and David Wood, Our legendary co-founders of Empower Network, were both homeless just a few years ago.

For David Wood, he lived in an old Dodge van, and believe it or not he couldn’t come up with a dollar or or two to use a pay phone to call a friend for a hot shower – he and his wife would shower on the beach.

For David Sharpe, before he went through rehab and became clean and sober 5 years ago — was homeless, hopeless and battled a viscous addiction that almost put him in the grave several times.

However, it was NOT the plan for either of them to die that way.

With a little bit of mercy, a ‘foot up’ from a few friends and family who had a big enough heart to help, and some good old fashion “work your butt off and don’t let anything stop you” — they were able to rise up from near death and defeat to change the lives of all of us, inspire those who have lost hope or cannot seem to find it, and go on to help tens of thousands of people around the world get results in their business, and most importantly in their life.

Because for these two — success is not just about them — and it never has been.

What makes them special, is they never forgot where and what they had come from, and what it took to get where they are today.

Which is why, after what they have been able to accomplish together, and now being united with the most powerful and motivated group of leaders in the industry — they have began to think bigger about who they can help, and how they can help them.

So, what's the plan guys?

They have decided to start right in their local city, the place where Empower Network’s headquarters is at, and hit the streets to make a difference in someone’s life they may never actually meet unless they go out and find them.

So they are doing just that.

This morning, members and leaders of Empower Network hit the streets to give back – and what better of a day to do it than Thanksgiving.

The group made a decision to serve breakfast at one of the local homeless shelters — ‘Pinellas Hope’ which is actually a giant campground ran by a local nonprofit organization called "Catholic Charities."

In the team's service work, they served, and spent some quality time the folks there at the campground. David Shape says that he "heard all kind of stories and shook hundreds of hands. We talked to people who fell on unfortunate circumstances and ended up homeless as a result of all kinds of different reasons." Dave Sharpe claims that some stories blew him away — and after some near death experiences himself, that's saying a lot.

Sharpe says, "The thing I noticed more than anything else was the not the pain and heartache – it was the hope and gratitude."

As he walked around serving drinks and cleaning up trash, Dave had heard more “thank-yous” than anything else. There was even laughter, and joy in the eyes of those in need.

Dave stood talking to the men, woman and children there — there was one thing more than anything else reinforced in his mind….

No matter how far you are broken down in life, no matter how terrible and hopeless it may be at times, and no matter where your decisions or circumstances may send you, it is never the end, because today is the day of a new beginning

Each day.

Each breathe.

Each decision…

…is a brand new start.

Here is the deal...

You can choose to look at the good….

…..or you can choose to look at the bad….

….. it really is that simple.

Today, Empower Network is going to keep it that simple, because it is.

As much as both David's as well as myself know what it’s like to have none, today we have it, lot’s of it, and we have to together.

Justin Verrengia; When He WAS Broke

The Triumphant Uprising

Justin Verrengia will take us on a journey on how he went from bum, broke, and completely burnt out just a few short months ago to an internet marketing mastermind, all with the help of Empower Network.

November 13, 2012 marked Justin's 1 year anniversary with Empower Network.

He literally went from nothing, to a whole lot of something.

My Personal Success

Over the last year I've had quite a bit of personal success in many different areas in my life. One thing I've learned is that nothing good in life will ever be easy, and if you ever think you've gotten to that point, you are bound to hit a brick wall if you let your unearned ego convince you that success is somehow guaranteed, it isn't.

Now then, with all of the worldly knowledge, experience, and observations that I have obtained over the last year, and having been knocked down quite a bit and gotten back up to claim the victory - I have taken it upon myself to write hundreds of articles on achievement and success. I'd like to talk to you about how I've been able to create success out of thin air by writing articles over the last few months.

Tips On Writing Successful Articles

One thing that I recommend when preparing such articles on success or achievement is to use a tactic which is common to the self-help guru seminar and speaking circuit crowd. These folks write lots of books, prepare DVD's, and hold seminars to help motivate others to achieve their dreams and goals. What they do is they talk about a time when they were down and out, or they tell a story of someone that had to go through hell in order to get to where they were going. Winston Churchill's best advice was; "If you have to go through hell to get to where you are going; don't stop!"

The Psychology Behind Successful Article Marketing

The psychological realities in using this tactic for your own writing goes something like this; if someone else had achieved success and had to go through much greater hardships than you will ever be challenged with, and if they did succeed after all that, then there is no excuse why you can't succeed, because your problems aren't anywhere near as difficult as what they had to conquer.

Further, this style of advice works because it completely motivates the individual as they find inspiration due to the "Rocky Balboa syndrome," where an individual is beaten down time and time again, but he keeps getting back up refusing to quit, back down, or give up.

Success In Storytelling

Telling a story of hardship and how the individual overcame adversity, built a strong personal sense of character, and eventually achieved their lifelong goals and dreams is perhaps one of the best ways to prepare an article on the topic of winning, achievement, or success. No, its not the only way, but it appears to work as humans often put themselves in the shoes of the main character of a tale or story which has been relayed to them whether it is in a movie, article, or something they heard at a seminar, sermon, or from a podium speech. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

What is an RSS Aggregator?

A Guide to RSS Aggregators

RSS may be one of the most popular plugin of Internet portals, websites, pages and even emails is a frame that features an organized list of news headlines and periodic updates from other web sources. Really Simple Syndication, formerly “Rich Site Summary” or simply, RSS makes this possible.

Most internet surfers visit a lot of websites whose information and content continually changes throughout the month, week, or even day. Such websites include news sites, city organization, professional business pages, medical sites, product support pages, and blogs. As Internet surfing became an essential part of business and leisure, it became important to get rid of the very tedious task of repeatedly returning to each website to see updated content. This is where RSS plays a huge role.

RSS easily distributes information from different websites to a wider number of Internet users. RSS aggregators are programs that use RSS to source these updates, and then organize those lists of headlines, content and notices for easy reading. It allows computers to automatically retrieve and read the content that users want, then track changes and personalize lists of headlines that interests them.

The specially made computer programs called an “RSS aggregator” were created to automatically find and retrieve the RSS feeds of pre-selected internet sites on behalf of the user and organize the results accordingly. (RSS feeds and aggregators are also sometimes referred to as "RSS Channels" and "RSS Readers".)

You can compare an RSS aggregator to a web browser for RSS content. HTML presents information directly to users, and RSS automatically lets computers communicate with one another. While users use browsers to surf the web then load and view each page of interest, an RSS aggregator will keep track of changes to many websites. The titles or descriptions are links themselves and can be used to load the web page the user wants.

RSS begins with an original web site that has content made available by the administrator. The website creates an RSS file and registers content with an RSS publisher that will allow other websites to syndicate the files and documents. The Web site also produces an RSS feed, or channel, which is available together with all other resources or documents on the particular web server. The website will register the feed as an RSS document, with a listed directory of appropriate RSS publishers.

An RSS feed is composed of website content listed from newest to oldest. Each item usually consists of a simple title describing the item along with a more complete description and a link to a web page with the actual content being described. In some instances, the short description or title line is the all the updated information that a user wants to read (for example, final games scores in sports, weblogs post, or stock updates). Therefore, it is not even necessary to have a web page associated with the content or update items listed -- sometimes all the needed information that users need would be in the titles and short summaries themselves.

The RSS content is located in a single file on a webpage in a manner not very different from typical web pages. The difference is that the information is written in the XML computer code for use by an RSS aggregator and not by a web user like a normal HTML page.

RSS Syndication

There are 2 main parts that are involved in RSS syndication. Namely: the source end and the client end.

The client end of RSS publishing makes up part of the system that gathers and uses the RSS feed. For example, Mozilla FireFox browser is typically at the client end of the RSS transaction. A user’s desktop RSS aggregator program also belongs to the client end.

Once the URL of an RSS feed is known, a user can give that address to an RSS aggregator program and have the aggregator monitor the RSS feed for changes. Numerous RSS aggregators are already preconfigured with a ready list of RSS feed URLs for popular news or information websites that a user can simply choose from.

There are many RSS aggregators that can be used by all Internet users. Some can be accessed through the Internet, some are already incorporated into email applications, and others run as a standalone program inside the personal computer.

RSS feeds have evolved into many uses. Some uses gaining popularity are:
