Roman Reigns shows off his impressive new back tattoo

Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE since mid-March.

He's staying away during the coronavirus pandemic, refusing to put himself and his family - including newborn twins - at risk.

The Big Dog may be at home for now, but that hasn't stopped him getting some new ink.

He's known for sporting traditional Samoan tattoos and has added more work on his back thanks to artist Michael Fatutoa.

Fatutoa posted a video showing the impressive work he's done, which now covers half of Roman's back.

Reigns' new tattoo looks great. Perhaps we'll see him ditch the flak jacket upon his return to show off the new artwork in the ring?

But don't get your hopes up for seeing him on TV anytime soon.

Reports this week suggest Roman is in 'no rush' to return to WWE and no one in the company is faulting him for it.

The man himself has also admitted he's not sure when he'll be back, but did state earlier this month that he misses performing for the fans.

"We're just going day by day, taking this thing how it comes," Reigns said of his return, per Wrestling Inc.

"It's... we're in weird times. These are brand new times for us, this is a new normal, and we're just trying to collect as much information and make the most educated choice possible.

"It's something that going forward will protect, like I said, my family and myself, but I definitely want to get out there.

"I definitely want to be back to normal, just performing for the fans. It's tough to be a performer who's not performing."

Reigns is a huge miss for WWE right now, but he's absolutely made the correct decision to stay away.

We're just looking forward to the day he does return, sporting that impressive new back tattoo as well.

WWE news: Every champion from 2009-2019 has been ranked

However, over the last decade, the belt has seen a mixed bag of holders. Some have had classic runs with the title, using their reigns to tell absorbing stories that fans will remember for a long time to come. Others, by contrast, have been almost instantly forgettable.

Now, GiveMeSport has ranked every WWE championship holder from 2009 to 2019. Here are some of the key takeaways from our list.

The longest WWE championship reign during this period belonged to CM Punk. Clocking in at an astounding 434 days, Punk began his second reign as WWE Champion by defeating Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series 2011.

At the time, the WWE Championship's reputation required some rehabilitation, having been passed around multiple times already in that year. Thankfully, Punk's reign restored some much-needed respect to the title - and it was genuinely a landmark moment when The Rock beat Punk for the belt at Royal Rumble 2013.

Learning from the success that they had experienced with Punk, WWE opted to let AJ Styles run with the championship for more than a year from November 7, 2017 until November 13, 2018.

Styles ended the pretty awful championship reign of Jinder Mahal to take the championship and then held it for 371 days - before losing to Daniel Bryan. The reign helped establish Styles as one of the major faces of WWE.

Championship reigns do not necessarily need to extend past a year to be effective, though. Kofi Kingston's WrestleMania 35 win over Daniel Bryan was a wonderful feel-good moment. It left an impact on the audience and will live on in video packages for years to come. Kingston's sole WWE championship reign was a great success for the promotion.

Seth Rollins had a similar WrestleMania moment in 2015, when he cashed in the Money In The Bank Briefcase in the main event of WrestleMania 31. Championship reigns, when they are done right, should be memorable - and all of the above were.

With that said, for every Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins, there is a Jinder Mahal or Dean Ambrose. It would be fair to say that WWE probably regrets putting its main prize on both Mahal and Ambrose.

"The Modern Day Maharaja" was one of the most underwhelming WWE champions of all-time. Ambrose was significantly better, but given that he has since jumped to AEW under his real name of Jon Moxley, we suspect that WWE wishes they had not given him the championship.

Daniel Bryan is also included in the lowest tier because many of his title reigns were cut short by either injury of bad booking. Bryan is a great performer, but has just never had a great run with the WWE championship.

The less said about his most recent one with Erick Rowan by his side the better.

As you can see from the graphic above, we have our opinion on every WWE champion from the period.

It is fair to say, though, that every superstar who wants to hold the WWE championship hopes to mirror the reign of a CM Punk as opposed to a Jinder Mahal!

Released WWE Superstar Rusev Reveals an Intense Meeting with Vince McMahon

Rusev ex-WWE superstar speaks about his dream come true moment when he faced the Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

Rusev is easily one of the best future prospects underutilized by WWE. Good built, brilliant ability to get crowd reactions, good technical wrestler, and a beautiful manager, Rusev had all the ingredients for a successful career.

Rusev was the first-ever Bulgarian wrestler in the WWE. Rusev did have some good days during his time in WWE, three United States title reigns, an undefeated streak, a Slammy for the match of the year.

However, the greatest year in WWE for him was 2017 in the Rusev Day angle

In 2017 Rusev formed an alliance with Aiden English. English would then use a catchphrase ‘Rusev Day’ before every match signifying every time Rusev walked to the ring it was his time to shine.

Rusev Day gave him an enormous crowd reaction irrespective of him being the good guy or bad. This was the year when Rusev’s dream would come true.

Rusev felt he wasn’t on Undertaker’s level

In 2018 Rusev had a dream come true moment as Vince McMahon called Rusev to inform him about facing The Undertaker. Rusev speaking on his YouTube show said he took it as a joke, as he felt the boss was joking. Rusev felt it was way above his level to work with the Phenom.

“I thought it was a rib. I got called in the office by Vince. He said ‘Miro, I got you working with The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia’. I’m like (laughs) and ‘I’m winning right?’ That’s exactly what I said, that’s what exactly my reaction was.

“Because I thought he was joking. So I said, ‘I’m going over, right?’ He was like ‘Hahaha.’ He looked at me kind of weird. I’m like ‘Alright sir, I’ll see you next time’,” recalls Rusev.

This didn’t sit well with the then WWE producer and head writer of SmackDown, Brain James a.k.a Road Dogg. James felt the behavior towards the boss was inappropriate.

However, Rusev explained saying he felt it was a joke, with James clarifying it wasn’t.

“Then I went out and Road Dogg goes, ‘Why did you act like this?’ I’m like ‘What do you mean?’ He’s like ‘Why would you say that?’ I’m like ‘Well, he’s joking with me, I would joke back with him, I’m not gonna just sit there.’

He’s like ‘No that’s not a joke, you are actually working Taker.’ I was like, ‘No freaking way! I’m such an a**hole.’ Yeah, it was a funny story,” said Rusev.

Prince of Saudi saves Rusev’s dream

WWE was planning to turn Rusev babyface. Losing at a PPV with a 60,000 plus crowd would hamper the babyface turn and making Undertaker lose in a casket match to a newbie would be a bad decision.

Hence Rusev was then replaced by Chris Jericho.

A call from the Saudi Prince called forced Vince McMahon to change his decision and reinstate Rusev in the match. Rusev fondly remembers this moment as he jokingly said he was over in Saudi Arabia.

“The Prince called and said, ‘Why is Rusev out of this match? I want Rusev back in this match’. And guess what happened? Rusev was back in the match, and Rusev went to dinner with the Saudi Prince. Rusev was over in Saudi Arabia brother,” reminisces the Bulgarian.

ore Details On Kevin Owens Not Attending WWE TV Tapings Due To COVID-19 Concerns

As previously reported, Kevin Owens did not attend Wednesday's WWE television tapings.

Despite living in the area, Owens decided not to appear due to a developmental talent testing positive COVID-19 earlier this week. WWE told talent months ago that they did not have to work during the coronavirus pandemic if they felt uncomfortable, and would not be punished for their decision.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Owens' wife's grandfather passed away from COVID-19 in the past couple of weeks. Owens' family was obviously concerned about him working in the building where someone had just tested positive for the disease.

Owens is expected to return at the next set of television tapings. The next set of RAW tapings are scheduled for June 29th.

Owens last appeared on last Monday's RAW where he defeated Angel Garza.

AEW Dynamite Results Wednesday 17th June, 2020

Hangman Page and Kenny Omega (c) vs. Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall with Brandi Rhodes (AEW World Tag Team Championship)

Omega and Rhodes get things started, Omega tries for an early one winged angel, nope, eats a back elbow. Omega ended up clipping Dustin in the head (both with his head and his knee as he flipped over Dustin) while he was in the corner. Looking a bit wobbly, but stills hits a hurricanrana. He takes a second in the ring, Omega shakes his hand. Page and QT both tag in, QT gets in some moves at first, but then takes a big boot to the face.

Page with a couple chops. Both end up tagging out to their partners. Rhodes drops Omega, works him over. Marshall tags in, double side russian leg sweep. From the crowd, we see Brit Baker attaching notes to a string and sends it up to commentary with her thoughts. She lets Tony she doesn't like his green tie. Dustin continues to beat up Omega, keeping him grounded, hits a big body drop.

Page and Marshall get back in the ring, and Page beats up QT, clotheslines Rhodes off the apron, fallaway slam on QT, then hits a crossbody splash down on Dustin. Sliding clothesline on QT, cover, two. Omega back in, second rope moonsault, cover, two-count. Page heads back in, chop to the chest. Another cheap shot to Dustin, sending him back to the floor. High boot to QT, but QT with a springboard disaster kick.

Omega and Dustin back in, Dustin with a couple clotheslines, uppercut, atomic drop, bulldog, and a pair of spinning powerslams on both opponents. He heads up to the top rope and hits a twisting senton on both guys. He sends both guys out to the floor, QT tags in. Cannonball senton on both guys. QT special over the top rope and down on Omega. He throws Kenny back into the ring, hits another top rope move, kip up, looks for the diamond cutter, but eats a snap dragon suplex. Rhodes with a canadian destroyer, Page with a big clothesline, but then takes a diamond cutter!

Allie runs out to the stage and cheers on QT. Brandi isn't a fan and encourages her team even more. QT heads to the top rope, twisting moonsault, but the pool is empty. Page tags in, he and Omega work over QT. Dustin tries to help, but gets tossed out to the floor. Allie still cheering on from the stage. Page with a powerbomb, knee to the back of the head. Page to the outside and takes out Dustin. Back in the ring, Page and Omega hit the last call (v-trigger/buckshot lariat) on Marshall for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Kenny Omega and Hangman Page via Pinfall

- Tonight: Cody will defend the TNT Title against someone outside of AEW. Billy vs. MJF. Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc vs. Young Bucks. Best Friends vs. Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho (winner goes to Fyter Fest to face Page and Omega). Anna Jay in action.

- Anna Jay talks about first getting into wrestling when she was younger. Says once she got signed, she realized she had to work ten time harder. Jay says ultimately she wants to put on a show and give something the fans to remember, hence "The Star of the Show."

Anna Jay vs. Abadon

Abadon had previously appeared on an episode of AEW Dark. Abadon with a double leg takedown, throwing shots at Jay, then going right at the referee. Jay with some forearms in the corner, but they don't seem to do much damage. Abadon with a clothesline, then chokes Jay over the middle rope, step-up hurricanrana, cover, and we're already done here.

Winner: Abadon via Pinfall

- Post-match, commentary putting over Abadon as a bit of an upset. Jay lays in the ring as Brodie Lee (with the rest of his crew) make their way to the stage. Colt Cabana looking on from ringside. Grayson getting in Private Party's face as Uno hands over an envelope to Cabana. He reads it over and looks at Lee. Not sure what it is, but maybe some kind of offer. The group kindly help Anna Jay out of the ring, Lee takes her hand and she's helped to the back with them. Cabana looks on with a confused look.

Billy with Austin Gunn vs. MJF with Wardlow

MJF heads out to stall. Gets back in, tries to irish whip him, but Billy doesn't go anywhere, MJF pretends like he was just shaking hands and Billy sends him to the mat. MJF with a thumbs to the eye, avoids some strikes, but then eats a high boot, cover, two. MJF heads up to the stage and walks away to the back. Billy goes after him and carries MJF back to the ring. He sets MJF in the ring, MJF tries to drape him over the top rope, Billy blocks it, but MJF had turned around and did some taunting.

He ends up backing into Billy, kick to the midsection, fameasser attempt, nope, MJF with a chop block, and another. He starts working over the knee to a bunch of boos. MJF continues to work over Billy, until he gets shoved face-first into the second turnbuckle. Throws a few punches, tilt-a-whirl slam on MJF. Billy is hobbled though, looks for the fameasser, MJF just moves out of the way and Billy has a tough time adjusting. He runs into the corner, knee strike misses. MJF then works in a figure-four. He then hangs on the ropes for more leverage and Aubrey kicks his hand off the ropes. MJF gets in her face, Billy ends up hitting the fameasser, goes for the pin. Wardlow up on the apron for the distraction. He tosses the ring to MJF, as he gets popped in the face by Billy. Austin tries to get involved and is clotheslined. Billy goes out and throws Wardlow into the barricade. MJF waits for Billy to get back in the ring and punches him right in the face. He tucks the ring in his tights, cover, 1-2-3.

Winner: MJF via Pinfall

- Post-match, Jungle Boy doesn't appreciate what MJF did and they start talking trash. MJF and Wardlow begin brawling with Jurassic Express and the two sides are broken up by the other wrestlers at ringside.

- Backstage, Alex Marvez talks with Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara about their attack on Orange Cassidy. Jericho says everybody loves Cassidy, he doesn't care about anything, but he's interrupted the Inner Circle twice and there's nothing funny about that. Guevara says they beat him to a pulp. Jericho then says they are going to do the same thing to the Best Friends so they can get a crack at the tag title.

- Tony talks with Brit Baker at ringside. Tony says Hikaru Shida will defend her title against Penelope Ford at Fyter Fest. Britt Baker isn't happy that's why Tony came down to her, she says he's in a lot of s--- for losing the interview. They are on a friend timeout! Baker then tells Reba to drive her out of there. The camera swings around and it's Big Swole in the driver's seat. "Where to, Doctor?" Swole drives off as Baker screams.

- Cody and Arn Anderson head out for the TNT Championship Open Challenge. Cody wonders after last week's attack, he wondered if he was in The Elite or if The Nightmare Family is even a family anymore. He moves on though and hands the mic over to Arn Anderson. AA says he knows Cody believes can beat Hager, but he also knows timing is everything and the timing is just not right. Hager is watching on from the back. AA says he's got someone who Cody can hone his skills with. They looks to the big screen and Ricky Starks sits down. He introduces himself and says once he heard about the Open Challenge he thought this was the perfect way to get his opportunity. He says he's slept on floors and has been broke, he's got grit and he knows Cody knows something about that, too. He's ready for a fight.

Cody (c) vs. Ricky Starks (AEW TNT Championship)

Cody drops Starks, kip-up, Cody with his trademark uppercut, Starks with a slap to the face. Cody swings away at the challenger, but eats some punches, as well. Cody with a dropkick. Starks get sent to the floor, Cody with a suicide dive on him. Hager continues to watch the match in the back. In the ring, Cody charges and Starks launches Cody hard into the ropes, then follows it up with a flurry of punches, leg drop on the apron. Swinging DDT on Cody, cover, two.

Starks looks for another swinging DDT, no, eats a kick, Cody with a spinning bodyslam, cover, two. Cody takes of the weightbelt, tosses it to the crowd. He looks for cross rhodes, nope, Starks dives in and Cody hits a pancake, cover, two. Cody heads to the top, Starks grabs a foot, heads up and lands a clean superplex. Back and forth strikes, Cody looks for a disaster kick, no Starks with a big spear, cover, two-count. Couple pins from each others, all two-counts. Cody finally catches him with cross rhodes, pin, and that will do it.

Winner: Cody via Pinfall

- Post-match, Cody shakes hands with Starks and heads out of the ring with a smile on his face.

Jimmy Havoc and Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) vs. Young Bucks

Young Bucks with a couple double team moves early on to get things going. Butcher and Blade talking trash to Young Bucks from ringside. Matt's bruised ribs are still taped up from a couple weeks back. Sabian and Havoc meet up together on the floor to regroup. Havoc and Nick in the ring. Havoc sent into the corner, hits a neckbreaker with Matt hitting a flipping splash. Matt with a dropkick on Sabian and then a flipping neckbreak on Havoc. Blade and Butcher jump the barricade and continue to jaw with Matt and Nick. The two now are up on the apron as Knox is distracted by Nick. Havoc smacks Matt in the back with a plastic sign.

Matt is really getting worked over now, sent over to the stage. Butcher and Blade make their way over to get a closer look, but FTR make their way over and the other two back away. FTR make their way over the Bucks' corner as Sabian punts Matt. Havoc tags in, uppercut, tags Sabian in, double dropkick to the face. Matt finally is able to get a shot to Havoc, goes for a sleeper holder while on the top rope. Sabian looks for a hurricarana, Matt blocks it and hits a powerbomb!

Matt finally makes his way over to Nick for the tag in. Nick with a bunch of kicks on both opponents. Nick with a sharpshooter locked in on Sabian in the middle of the ring. He tries to crawl to the ring, Matt with an elbow drop off the top rope. Nick brings him back to the middle of the ring, Havoc comes in with a mallet. Ford runs in and smacks Nick with a plastic sign. Sabian with twisting DDT on Nick. Sabian is bleeding either from the side of his head or his ear got cut. Matt with multiple northern light suplexes on Havoc.

Nick tags in, double stomp on Havoc, down on Matt's knees. Bucks land another double team move, cover, two. Young Bucks looks to finish things off, but Nick gets distracted by the teams on the outside and gets shoved to the floor. Sabian with a double stomp on Matt, cover, Nick breaks it up. Havoc sends Nick out of the ring. Matt with double suplex on both opponents. Nick tagged in, double superkicks. They throws Havoc into a piledriver position with Sabian, double superkick on Sabian so he piledrives Havoc. Double knee strikes to Sabian, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Young Bucks via Pinfall

- Post-match, Butcher and Blade try to attack the Young Bucks, but FTR gets involved and blocks that with their own attack. FTR hits goodnight express, then both Young Bucks and FTR land spiked piledrivers on The Blade and Havoc. Bucks and FTR stare at each other for a moment.

- Earlier today, Taz talks about AEW Jon Moxley screaming and saying he's gonna pop Cage's head off at Fyter Fest. Taz says Moxley wants to be miserable, but that decade was taken decades ago. Cage says he wishes Fyter Fest was right now and he'd put Moxley down with the drill claw. "Who betta? Nobody," Cage says.

- AEW World Champion Jon Moxley says he's the man who makes heads roll, but Cage dares to want to take him on. Moxley says he has demons, and the only thing that keeps them at bay is hurting them in the ring. Now Cage's path has crossed paths, "beat me if you can!"

Reba says it's only been an hour. Baker fires her. Reba asks that she's free? Baker rehires her and tells her to get her out. Baker then asks where Tony is! Reba reminds her that she put him on a friend timeout. Baker says to get him on the phone. Baker then asks where Reba was, "in the bathrom." Baker says she's got a full-time job, that means no bathroom. Baker then tells the camera that she's going to get Big Swole if it's the last thing she does. She then yells at Reba to get her out of the dumpster.

- Matt Hardy joins commentary for the main event.

Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara vs. Best Friends (Winners face AEW World Tag Team Champions at Fyter Fest)

The two team pair off and battle out on the floor. Trent with a big spear on Guevara, then tossing him in the ring to Taylor. He plants Guevara, cover, two-count. Jericho in the ring, and goes to work on Taylor. Excalibur notes this is the first time Jericho has ever been in the ring with either Trent or Taylor. Jericho chokes Taylor in the corner, then tags in Sammy. Guevara with a dropkick, kip-up, taunt, cocky pin only for one-count.

Matt Hardy says Guevara is the future in AEW, but he has outgrown Jericho and needs to fly on his own. Jericho continues to beat up Taylor. Trent gets in the ring beats up Sammy, eats a dropkick, but then lands a big suplex on his opponent. Trent with baseball slide on Jericho, Trent then goes for a splash, but Jericho hits him in the midsection with his trusty baseball bat. Back in the ring, Jericho launches Trent over the top rope, cover, two. Guevara tags in, double shoulder tackle. Guevara and Jericho with their trademark pose. Trent able to drop Guevara, he crawls his way to Taylor, tag. Taylor knocks Jericho off the apron, falcon arrow on Guevara, cover, two.

Taylor tries for a moonsault, lands on his feet, sit-down powerbomb, Jericho breaks it up. Taylor dumps Jericho out of the ring. Guevara tries for jawbreaker, looks to take out, Jericho is still down. Best Friends go for a hug, Jericho stops that. Trent and Taylor each hit him with a knee. Trent tries for a swinging DDT, but Jericho counters it into a liontamer. Guevara flips out of the ring and drops Taylor. Trent climbs his way to the rope for the break. Jericho thinks he won, ref says now, Jericho says "you suck!" Ref tells Jericho, "you suck!" Guevara back in the match, superkick to Trent's face, Sammy goes up top, Trent crotches him.

Things breaking down, people battling on the floor. Guevara able to use the bat on Trent, shooting star press, cover, two. Guevara gets thrown into the ropes, camera man bumps him, which distracts Guevara. Trent is able to get the pin for the win.

Winner: Best Friends via Pinfall

- Post-match, camera guy makes his way to the stage, then gets in the ring and it's Orange Cassidy! Jericho is in the ring with his back to him. Cassidy takes his shirt off and looks very unhappy. He takes Jericho down and swings away on his head. Cassidy lands a big superman punch on Jericho! Jericho rolls out to the floor as Cassidy's music hits. Commentary says Tony Khan just signed Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy for Fyter Fest. Best Friends hug their buddy as the show closes.

WWE Teasing Heel Turn For Apollo Crews?

There's now speculation on a possible heel turn by WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews.

Last night's RAW saw Crews pick up a win over Shelton Benjamin by using the ropes for leverage. That led to rumors on a Crews heel turn after the earlier backstage segment with MVP.

Before the match with Benjamin, MVP approached Crews backstage and offered to help take him far in the company, and to have him focused on making the right amount money for his matches. Crew said he appreciated the offer but he wasn't interested. MVP then grabbed the title belt and shoved it in Crews' chest, telling him that the only way he will keep the gold is with MVP in his corner. MVP walked off and Crews went on to defeat Benjamin.

There's also a lot of social media chatter on MVP possibly building up his stable of Superstars such as Bobby Lashley, Crews and Benjamin.

WWE released post-RAW video of MVP approaching Benjamin in the back, as seen below. Despite the non-title loss to Crews, MVP offered to get Benjamin another shot, this time for the title.

"Cheer up, man. Things aren't really as bad as they seem," MVP told Benjamin. "I can get you another shot at Apollo Crews, this tie for the United States Championship. Think it over."

MVP then walked away as Benjamin looked to be considering the offer.

Shelton tweeted on the offer and wrote, "@The305MVP very Tempting proposition"

Furthermore, MVP tweeted Instagram video from the locker room last night, as seen below. He walked into Crews' locker room and picked up the title to admire it, when Crews walked in. They had a few tense words and MVP left after saying it would be a shame if Crews lost the title.

WWE has teased a stable led by MVP ever since he was put with WWE NXT Superstars Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink on RAW for a few weeks earlier this year. There were also rumors on MVP working with Cedric Alexander and Ricochet at one point.

The Undertaker Says WWE Super ShowDown Match With Goldberg Was Tough

On Chapter 4: The Battle Within of WWE Network's docuseries Undertaker: The Last Ride, WWE Superstar The Undertaker weighed in on his thoughts on his WWE Super ShowDown match versus WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg. Among many other things, during the show, The Undertaker talked about how it all came together, his high expectations for the bout, and his disappointment following the match.

According to The Undertaker, Triple H pitched him the idea of facing Goldberg at Super ShowDown. The Undertaker thought that they had blockbuster match on their hands.

"It was Triple H that called me and asked me, 'what do you think about working with Goldberg in Saudi?,'" The Undertaker recalled. "And I said, 'wow, I mean, on paper, that's huge.' And I never worked with him. At this juncture in my career, you don't have very many opportunities to work with somebody of that magnitude for the first time ever kind of deal."

The Undertaker, who recently shared his thoughts on The Rock's early professional wrestling career, was optimistic about the pairing with Goldberg when 'The Deadman' went to meet with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon at WWE Monday Night RAW on June 3, 2019.

"The stature of Goldberg, the stature of The Undertaker, being able to do that for the first time, I mean, that's pretty exciting, so I am looking forward to that," The Undertaker admitted. "And, hopefully, we can deliver on the hype."

With respect to the match, The Undertaker suspected that Goldberg got concussed early on in the contest.

"Bill got concussed early on," The Undertaker said. "I'm assuming that. I think that he had a head injury. When you go on last, you want to be able to deliver and you want people thinking when they are leaving, 'like, wow! Man, we just watched The Undertaker and Goldberg go at it!'"

The Undertaker acknowledged that he and Goldberg were both disappointed by the match.

"My reactions after the match, I had this dejected look on my face. It was there because I was upset. [Goldberg] was really disappointed and I was disappointed." The Undertaker continued, "it's just like, wow, that was really close to being catastrophic."

Apparently, The Undertaker once again questioned whether he was finished as an in-ring talent after the Super ShowDown match with Goldberg.

"I got this long flight back to the [United] States, my back is bothering me, and I'm like, 'man, maybe it's time. Maybe you are out of gas and I got a wife and kids. Am I risking permanent injury?' So all that stuff comes flooding into your head after something like that happens, and I need to take a real honest look at this, and assess where I'm at. Is it me?"

CM Punk Talks Greatest Wrestling Match Ever: "I Feel Like It Was A Lot Of Unnecessary Pressure"

CM Punk joined this week's WWE Backstage and gave his thoughts on the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" between Edge and Randy Orton at Backlash. Orton picked up the hard fought victory over Edge after punting him in the head.

"I think if you're Randy and Edge you just ignore that, you can't live up to that, it's too subjective of a label," Punk said. "'Greatest Match of All-Time,' what's the 'Greatest Single of All-Time'? Music wise. What's the 'Greatest Band of All-Time'? It's too subjective. Everybody's gonna have a different opinion, but I think that's what makes wrestling great. ... I think they had a great match. Was it the greatest match of all-time? I've seen better Randy Orton matches. I've seen better Edge matches.

"To put that on the marquee, and get people to watch, I kind of feel like it was a lot of unnecessary pressure — especially on Edge — coming back after almost a decade of not wrestling. They did a great job of compartmentalizing that, and almost ignoring it, just going out there and delivering."

Bret Hart Says Steve Austin Was "Nervous" Early On In The Ring With Him, Austin Reacts

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart appeared on this week's WWE Backstage to discuss his rivalry with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Hart noted he felt like Austin really "found his voice" after their Survivor Series match in 1996, but felt like Austin was "nervous" in their first matches.

"I had wrestled Steve a few times before, but not in any big matches," Hart began. "I actually was really looking forward to working with Steve. I would say back in those days that [1996 Survivor Series match] was the first real consequential match that we ever had. I would think that in all fairness to Steve, he would get a little nervous. He was pretty intense. Anxious — I think — about working with me.

"It showed when I worked with him that he was going to come at me with everything he had, at the same time I could tell that he was nervous, if that is the right way to put it. There was a little bit of nerves there that I sensed — later on when I worked with him that he didn't have. He was still maybe finding himself a little bit. It was one of my favorite matches that I had with Steve it was very close, or on par, with the match we had at WrestleMania 13."

After WWE on FOX tweeted out a video of Hart's comments, Austin responded with his take on how he was feeling in those first matches with the former champion.

"No, not nervous," Austin wrote. "Just running on the edge of a razor blade. Confidence was sky high. Intensity was on point. Great time working with the best there is, was, and ever will be."

Curtis Axel Should Have Been Joe Hennig From The Start Of His WWE Run

Zack Ryder was one of the more notable names let go by the WWE in April as a part of the massive layoffs and talent cuts due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic. Ryder spent 14 years with the company winning the Intercontinental title, United States Championship and becoming a 2 time Tag Team Champion. Ryder's Intercontinental title win at WrestleMania 32 became one of the more memorable moments of the show and the highlight of his WWE career.

During the ARN podcast covering Elimination Chamber 2015, Arn Anderson discussed Zack Ryder being released and how much he respected and appreciated Zack during his time with WWE as an agent.

"I love Zack, who wouldn't love Zack?" Anderson said. "Number one he looks great, he can do some very good stuff and he's a completely great guy. Whatever you want, tell him one time and he's good to go. Him and Cody are great friends, what a difference five years makes."

Anderson also mentioned how his current associate, Cody Rhodes, dealt with the Stardust gimmick. Anderson said that he doesn't believe being a character will work unless you add parts of your real life self into your character.

"Cody put everything he could into the Stardust gimmick but that's not who he is, that's not who he ever is going to be," Anderson said. "The biggest mistake I would tell any young guy in this business is a guy playing a character. If you are you being you and the more you take being you down, the worse it is. You have to take the real you and make it a little louder, colorful and intelligent, it's hard to screw up being you. That's who Cody wanted to be, even though he gave it 120%, he still wanted to be Cody."

Anderson also discussed Curtis Axel being released by the WWE at the end of April. Anderson believes that Curtis Axel should have been billed as Joe Hennig from the start.

"Curtis Axel isn't Joe Hennig," Anderson stated. "That's who he should've been from day one, there are guys that have a legacy in this business. All that they would've had to do to help him from day one was let him be Joe Hennig. They are going to tell you they were protecting him and nobody can be what Mr. Perfect was, but I don't believe that.

"When you have a father that is renowned to find out his kid was really good, just let him be who he is. Don't call him something that's a total disconnect cause there's no reason for it."

Anderson was asked about Bo Dallas not being one of the superstars let go by the WWE due to him being barely used by the company recently. Anderson praised Dallas and felt that he could have been paired with his brother, Bray Wyatt, at one point.

"He should, he's done nothing but work his ass off and he's a good worker," he said. "There was a time where you could very easily make him who he was, Bray Wyatt's brother. Do it in a goofy way and he's the one that's the handsome guy and half nuts and easily swayed by the older brother and let him do some nasty stuff.

"Mechanically he's very good and with the gimmicks that were given to him he wasn't able to perform at a level that he's able too. I hope he lands on his feet because he's an excellent performer. If he doesn't get a restart [in WWE], hopefully he does somewhere else."

Backstage News On Talent Reaction To WWE's Handling Of Positive COVID-19 Test

WWE talent, production crew and employees were tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday after an unnamed developmental talent that was on site at the Performance Center last week tested positive for the disease.

The Coronavirus pandemic forced WWE to start taping all of their television at the Performance Center since this past March. WWE has been having everyone involved with the tapings undergo temperature checks and fill out a questionnaire. During a media call earlier this month, Triple H stated that the company had avoided COVID-19 testing due to the accuracy of the tests being questionable.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there was a huge gathering at the Performance Center on Tuesday morning as talent and staff were tested for COVID-19 for the first time. Mojo Rawley posted a video on social media of himself taking the test through a nose swab. It was noted that the testing was disorganized at the start, but it appeared to have gotten better as the day went along.

PWInsider noted that most of the people that they had spoken to were concerned at some level about their health and spreading the illness to their families. Some talent were also upset that WWE had fans in attendance for Monday's television tapings, as they were not informed that anyone outside the company would be in attendance. One person apparently said that they were only aware of the move when they went to the ring and saw older faces in the crowd, realizing that they aren't developmental talent.

Vince McMahon Reportedly Refers To WWE RAW Superstar As A "Young Eddie Guerrero"

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon reportedly sees big things in RAW Superstar Angel Garza.

Garza is the latest star to become a favorite of Vince and word is that the WWE boss has referred to him as a younger version of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, according to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT. Vince was said to be a huge fan of Eddie.

The 27 year old Garza is currently working the red brand in the stable with Zelina Vega and Andrade, but they have been teasing a possible split between Garza and Andrade. Garza lost to Kevin Owens on last night's RAW.

On a related note, WWE recently updated their RAW banner that promotes the show and Garza replaced Becky Lynch, who was removed because she's currently away while pregnant.

More Exclusive Details On Fans Attending Monday's WWE TV Tapings

As we previously reported, a small number of real fans were used at today's WWE television tapings.

We had noted that some of the people used are local diehard fans, while others were friends and family of the wrestlers. They had to sign waivers to not take pictures or send out spoilers. They received a free t-shirt as well.

We also learned that the waivers that they signed stated that WWE wasn't liable if they contracted COVID-19 and that there could be inherent risk attending the event.

The fans were scattered around the ring, and some NXT recruits were used as well. Some of the fans on the hardcam side were allowed to sit on chairs.

Like with the talent so far, there was no COVID-19 testing, however the fans did adhere to temperature checks and a questionnaire, which were also given to the NXT talent.

WWE Announces Bray Wyatt's TV Return And MizTV With Mandy Rose For Friday's SmackDown

WWE has announced that Bray Wyatt will return to TV during this Friday's SmackDown on FOX with another Firefly Fun House episode.

It's been rumored that The Fiend will return soon to continue Wyatt's feud with WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman. Strowman just retained his title over John Morrison and The Miz in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match at Sunday's Backlash pay-per-view, and it looks like that feud is over.

Wyatt has been away since losing to Strowman at the WWE Money In the Bank pay-per-view last month.

In other news for Friday's post-Backlash edition of SmackDown, WWE has announced that Mandy Rose will be a guest on MizTV with The Miz. The storyline with Rose, Otis and Sonya Deville will continue with that segment.

As previously revealed, Friday's SmackDown will also feature a championship presentation from new WWE Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles.

WWE Talent Reportedly Tests Positive For COVID-19

A WWE NXT developmental talent has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement sent to Wrestling Inc. and other media outlets, WWE stated that the talent was last on site at WWE's training facility on Tuesday, June 9. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms.

WWE noted that all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately to ensure the health and safety of the company's performers and staff.

Once the test results are in, the company plans to proceed with their normal television production schedule.

Below is the full statement from WWE Associate Medical Director Dr. Jeffrey Dugas.

"A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE's training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company's performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule."

Christian Returns Against Randy Orton In "Unsanctioned Match" During Monday Night RAW (Photos, Videos)

Tonight's WWE RAW main event saw former World Heavyweight Champion Christian return to the ring for an Unsanctioned Match against Randy Orton.

This was Christian's first time stepping in the ring to get physical since he was forced to retire due to concussion issues in March 2014. While he didn't really get physical, he did take bumps in the ring.

The match started with an interruption from WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who appeared earlier during a backstage segment to try and talk Christian out of the match, as did Big Show. Christian told Flair he appreciated the concern, but he couldn't let Orton get away with what he said earlier in the show. The bell then rang and The Nature Boy turned on Flair by hitting him with a low blow.

Christian then went down and Orton delivered a punt kick. Christian was laid face-down before Orton took his time turning him over, then covering for the pin to win. The match ran at 1 minute from bell to bell.

There's no word yet on what WWE has next for the Orton vs. Edge and Christian feud but he is obviously not injured. WWE posted a teaser earlier on Monday and said there were rumors of both Edge and Orton suffering injuries during "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" at WWE Backlash on Sunday, which was won by Orton. There was no mention of Orton being injured but it was later confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps in his right arm. He underwent surgery and is already back at home rehabbing the injury. There's no official timetable for his return but an injury like that usually requires 8 months or so for recovery.

Next Week's RAW Features Two Tag Team Title match and The Return of Rey's appearance

WWE has announced two titles matches for next Monday's RAW episode on the USA Network.

The Street Profits will defend their titles against The Viking Raiders. The "What You Can Do, We Can Do Better" rivalry is coming to an end after the two teams joined forces at WWE Backlash on Sunday and on this week's RAW to battle Akira Tozawa and his ninjas. The titles will be on the line next Monday, which could lead to another match between the two teams at Extreme Rules on July 19.

Banks and Bayley will be the ones to defend if they're able to retain over Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox on this Wednesday's WWE NXT episode. Banks and Bayley just retained in a Triple Threat at Backlash on Sunday, defeating The IIconics and former champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy

We go back to the ring and out comes Jeff Hardy as Greg Hamilton does the introductions. Sheamus is out next.

The bell rings and Hardy rallies the crowd. A "you got pissed on!" chant starts up. Sheamus takes Hardy down and manhandles him some while Hardy struggles. They get up and Sheamus backs Hardy into the corner. Hardy with a side headlock, keeping Sheamus down now. Sheamus takes it to the corner and they break but Sheamus nails a cheap shot. Sheamus with some trash talking while keeping Hardy down in the corner. Sheamus keeps control but Hardy kicks him and dropkicks the knee out. Hardy stomps away in the corner while Sheamus is down now.

Hardy launches himself low at Sheamus in the corner. Hardy keeps Sheamus against the ropes but Sheamus charges up with a clothesline. Sheamus with a clothesline and more strikes against the ropes as the crowd boos and the referee warns him. Hardy back drops Sheamus to the apron but he hangs on. Hardy charges and dropkicks the knee out again. Sheamus goes down on the floor and Hardy follows.

Hardy runs and leaps off the steel steps, dropping Sheamus in front of the announcers. Hardy slams Sheamus face-first into the announce table. Hardy takes the steps apart but has second thoughts. Hardy comes back in but Sheamus overpowers and rams him back into the corner. Sheamus unloads with stiff shots as the referee warns him. Sheamus lifts Hardy with a suplex but rams him on the top of the ring post. Hardy hits his knee hard.

Sheamus keeps control and drops a flying knee from the corner. Hardy kicks out at 2. Sheamus yells at the crowd for being enablers. Sheamus puts a boot to Hardy's throat to keep him down. Sheamus with the Irish Curse backbreaker, and another. Hardy still kicks out at 2.

Sheamus keeps Hardy grounded with a headlock now. Hardy tries to make a comeback but Sheamus levels him with a big jumping knee to the head for 2. Sheamus yells out at the announcers, then goes back to keeping Hardy down with a headlock. Sheamus with a rake to the eyes as the crowd rallies for Hardy. Hardy fights out and sends Sheamus into the corner. Hardy with a back suplex. Hardy mounts more offense and takes back control. The crowd cheers Hardy on. Sheamus blocks a Twist of Fate and rolls him for 2. More back and forth now. Hardy ducks the Brogue Kick. Hardy with a Slingblade. They trade their finishers and pin attempts for a few more minutes. Sheamus applies the Cloverleaf but Hardy hangs in there. Sheamus talks some trash after beating Hardy around some more.

Sheamus unloads with the forearms to the chest on the apron. Hardy falls on the apron. Sheamus scoops Hardy on his shoulders but he hangs on in the corner. Hardy sends Sheamus into the ring post and then drops him with a Twist of Fate. Hardy goes to the top and hits the Swanton. They end up on the outside of the ring again. Jeff runs the top of the barrier and leaps off but Sheamus knocks him out of the air with a big Brogue Kick right in front of the announcers. Sheamus brings it back into the ring for the pin to win.

New WWE Extreme Rules Logo Revealed

WWE has confirmed the 2020 WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view for July 19.

Extreme Rules was originally announced back in February for the SAP Center in San Jose, California, but COVID-19 will change that. The event is expected to take place from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

We go to the ring for tonight's opener and out first comes Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. The IIconics are out next, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. We go backstage to Charly Caruso with the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley. There's some

The bell rings and Cross, Bayley and Kay start tings off. Cross ends up getting double teamed and dropped in the middle of the ring. Banks comes in for more chaos in the ring. The three teams have a stand off in the middle of the ring now. Banks, Royce and Bliss tie up now. Royce with a roll up on Banks for 2 as Bliss breaks it up. They continue to trade offense before stopping to knock the others off the apron. Another stand off in the middle of the ring. Cross takes Banks to a corner while Royce and Bliss are in another. Cross and Bliss get the upperhand and in comes Cross off a tag.

Royce levels Cross with a kick to the face for a 2 count. Bayley comes in off a tag but the referee didn't see it. He makes them re-do it. Bayley works over Royce and Cross now. Bayley with shoulder thrusts in the corner. Kay comes in and levels Cross with a big boot for a 2 count as Bayley breaks it up. Kay stomps on Cross and shows frustration.

Kay and Bayley double team Cross until Kay turns on her to boos. Kay swings at Bliss on the apron but misses. Banks runs interference as Bayley rolls Kay for a 2 count after Royce failed to interfere. Bliss gets dropped on the floor. Banks runs in to double team Kay but Cross breaks up Bayley's pin. More back and forth until all three go down. Bliss tags in and clotheslines over Bayley and Royce, who also tagged in. Bliss unloads on both of them now. Bliss dropkicks Bayley and drops knees on Royce, then takes Bayley down with right hands after mounting her. Banks runs in but Bliss hits a Thesz Press and rights, the same to Royce. Bliss knocks Banks off the apron and then hits a crossbody to Bayley and Royce at the same time. Bliss with kicks to Bayley in the corner.

Banks tags in and unloads on Bliss on the corner. The chaos continues and they all go down on the floor as the fans chant "this is awesome!" now. Royce brings Banks kin. Kay runs in and stops Bayley, then they double team her to send her back out to the floor. The IIconics continue to double team Banks but Cross and Bliss make the save.

Bliss and Cross take control with a double team. Bliss ends up hitting Twisted Bliss on Royce in the middle of the ring. Bliss holds it for the pin but Banks runs in and steals it, covering to retain.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley.

Edge Reportedly Suffers Serious Injury During WWE Backlash Match

WWE Hall of Famer Edge was reportedly injured during the taping of "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" with Randy Orton, which is airing during tonight's WWE Backlash pay-per-view.

Edge reportedly suffered a torn triceps when the match was taped back on Sunday, June 7, according to F4Wonline.com. The news was first reported by Fightful.

There's no timetable on Edge's return as of now but a torn triceps usually requires around 8 months or so of recovery time and surgery.

The injury, like the finish to the match, was kept quiet through WWE until it was leaked today. The match itself went for around 35 minutes, but there's no word on if it was edited down.

WWE United States Title Match: Andrade vs. Apollo Crews

We go to the WWE Performance Center with Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Samoa Joe at ringside. Out first for the Kickoff match is Andrade with Zelina Vega and Angel Garza. We see WWE NXT developmental trainees in the crowd as "fans" for the show. Out next comes WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews as Mike Rome does the introductions.

The music interrupts before we get going and out comes Kevin Owens. He joins the announcers for commentary. The bell rings and they go at it in the ring. They collide with shoulders and run the ropes again. Andrade avoids a dropkick as Owens cheers Apollo on. They tangle and Andrade takes control with a submission over the ropes from the apron. The referee counts while they're on the floor now. Crews back-drops Andrade onto the steel ramp. Crews returns to the ring and Andrade crawls after him. Andrade resets the count. Crews hits a moonsault from the apron and lands on his feet.

Crews brings it back in the ring and hits a long suplex for a 2 count. Garza has words with the referee from ringside. Andrade ends up sending Crews face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Andrade with the running double knees in the corner for a 2 count. Andrade goes to the top as Vega cheers him on. Crews cuts Andrade off. Andrade fights back but Crews unloads while Andrade is sitting on the top turnbuckle. Crews climbs up for a hurricanrana but Andrade drops him on the top turnbuckle. Andrade beats on Crews and turns him upside down in the corner. Andrade goes for the big stomp but misses. Crews gets free and catches Andrade as he charges, launching him over his head into the turnbuckles.

Crews keeps control and clotheslines Andrade, then rams him back into the corner. Crews with more shoulder thrusts in the corner. Crews whips Andrade across the ring and splashes him. Crews with a big Spinebuster for a close 2 count in the middle of the ring.

Andrade counters the Olympic Slam but Crews dropkicks him. Crews keeps an eye on Garza and Andrade takes advantage with a forearm. Crews tries to suplex Andrade to the floor but he hangs on and they both are on the apron now, trading shots. Andrade ends up hitting a big DDT from the apron for a close 2 count. Andrade and Vega can't believe it. Crews blocks the Hammerlock DDT. Crews kicks Andrade while he's up top now. Crews presses Andrade high and slams him. Crews with the standing moonsault and another for a pin attempt but Garza gets on the apron. Owens gets up and pulls him to the floor. Owens follows up with a big Stunner to Garza as Crews looks on. Crews goes back to Andrade and hits the sitdown powerbomb for the pin to retain.

Drew McIntyre Says He Wanted To Be Like AJ Styles When He First Started Wrestling

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre recently spoke to Vicente Beltran from ViBe & Wrestling. During the interview, he discussed his evolution from heel to face in a short time.

"The point when people started kind of cheering because I wasn't doing anything in particular, that would be what a good guy would generally do," McIntyre explained. There was no particular moment where, you know, when a good guy helps or saves the girl from the tracks.

"It was just like I started showing a little more of myself on the microphone and people started responding because in real life, you know, I'm not a serious guy that I was for a while. I can be serious, very serious, but there's a lot more to me. I'm silly and sarcastic. I like to have a good time, but in the end, when I get in the ring, everybody knows Drew McIntyre kicks butts, and I noticed that people started to cheer."

McIntyre remembers a match with No Way Jose at Madison Square Garden where he entered as a heel but got a face reaction. He says that was the start of him transitioning to a face.

"A few months before the Royal Rumble, I remember one in particular that stands out to me is at Madison Square Garden," McIntyre recalled. "I walked out, and I think you can tell a lot about how The Garden reacts to a Superstar. I walked out, and I was against No Way Jose if I remember, and I think I was out first and just the way people reacted.

"I got to the ring, looking around. Jose made his entrance. They were still kind of quiet during his entrance which was unusual because it's such an entertaining entrance. That's really weird because the reaction of the fans was very bizarre, but it's very telling how The Garden reacts. It's like they're ahead of the curve.

"Then as the weeks passed, then I started showing more of my personality and the rest of the fans around America and around the world, I could see, on social media started responding at the same. Go down all the way to up to Brock out there on the Rumble, and I think that's when things really switch from bad to good."

McIntyre was then asked about possible challengers for his title. He also gave praise to AJ Styles and talked about how their paths have never crossed for a singles match.

"Well, so many times, people mentioned, referred names like Randy [Orton], and Edge so far. Jinder, I want to make him to go on a winning streak first before we even consider it," McIntyre said. "Somebody that's not there right now. Hopefully, he can dig himself out from the ground is AJ Styles is somebody that's certainly up there. He's a performer that, you know, he's one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time.

"When I first started training, when I was 15, he was like on top of the independent world, and I used to study his tapes like crazy. I was like man, I'm going to be like AJ Styles, and then I kept getting taller and kept getting bigger. And I was like OK, I'm not going to be like AJ Styles, but he's really cool to watch.

"Then i was in WWE for years. He was obviously outside the company, and he came to WWE. Then i was outside the company, with the same company he was with, and then I came back to WWE. We're both on different shows, so we kept being like passing ships in the night. We never really had that opportunity to have a singles match, and we made a triple threat one time with himself, myself and Randy Orton, which the match was awesome. And I know if myself and AJ got the chance to go out there, not only would it be like awesome story-wise but obviously, the matches would be phenomenal."
