The island is beautiful and the people are wonderful. And my favorite place in the world, perhaps other than my own home, is at the southern tip of the island, at a fishing village known as Scotts Head.

On my only day off that trip, I was one of a group that took a boat trip from our hotel to Soufriere Bay at Scotts Head. There is a neck of land about 60 yards wide, that joins the island to a 300 foot promontory. At the end of the promontory is where the Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Where we anchored the water was 30 to 40 feet deep, and we did some snorkeling. We saw conch shells and blue headed fish with yellow bodies and huge lobsters and other wondrous sights. I have told about that day hundreds of times over the last 30 years. I can still see those sights in my mind.

Yesterday when I was surfing the net I found a place that may enhance my storytelling. It is a place I can buy an underwater camera that I can take back and capture the pictures for all to see. I guess I have always thought that such cameras would be very expensive, so I have never checked into it. But I’m very pleased to find that there is a wide assortment of cameras that won’t disrupt my budget. I can hardly wait to get back to Soufriere Bay to get those pictures.

I awoke from a benadryl-induced deep sleep about one o’clock this morning after our home security systems alarm went off. I hopped out of bed scared to death. I was so groggy, I felt like I was in a dream. I was too scared to check the situation out, so I shut and locked my bedroom door and waited on the police. When the police got there, they searched the house and could not find anyone or anything. They did not find signs of forced entry, but the back door was wide open. We talked for about forty-five minutes trying to figure out who had opened the door. Then, it occurred to me as I saw my dog running in the back yard. I had forgotten to latch the deadbolt. My lab had some how unlocked the handle and opened the door! The funny thing is that when I called his name and he came up to the house, he gave the officers and I a guilty look. He was busted! The officers laughed and said they wished that every crime was as simple as looking for the guilty dog

Have you ever investigated the availability and costs of Cochrane rentals? Well sometimes things change that motivate you to do things you never thought you would have to do!

The economy around the NASA complex outside Houston, Texas is in a flux because of layoffs that are taking place since the end of the Shuttle Program. I have several friends out of work and looking for jobs. Most of them want to stay in the area, but that is likely not going to happen.

One of my friends has sent resumes to many locations, thinking it will give him the best chance to find employment quickly. He has heard of opportunities in Canada, near Calgary. He will pursue the position pretty vigorously. While he is doing that he has begun to try to determine the cost of living in the area. One of the things he has checked on is the cost of housing. The Cochrane rentals seem to be within his reach, so he is now hopeful of at least obtaining an interview!

Since moving to Texas a few months ago I’ve had a really hard time adjusting. Things are just so different here than in my home state of Michigan and although the job’s been great so far, I don’t really know many people my age. I’m trying to get out of the house a lot and I even joined a co-ed kickball team to try and meet people but it’s going to take some time, for sure. I had to do a lot of upgrades to my new house to make it look right and I immediately went to www.SHOPELECTRICITYRATESTEXAS.com at the suggestion of a coworker since I wasn’t used to having to run my AC all the time like you do here. There are a lot of things I love about this state and a lot that I don’t but I think all in all it’s been a really good change for me and things are going to be great here when I get myself all settled!

Online dating is something I never thought I would do. Since I was a little girl, I imagined a big fairy tale wedding to my high school sweetheart and that would be that! We’d have a house with a white picket fence, the 2.5 kids and a golden retreiver. What could be more wholesome? Well when I turned 32 last year with no Mr. Wonderful in sight I decided it was time to start putting myself out there. I mean really out there, online.

Home is the perfect place for me to update my profile and talk to potential mates because I have mobile Wireless Internet Service I love that I can take my laptop all ov! er my house and even to nearby parks if that’s what I want to do! I haven’t exactly met the love of my life yet, but I’m having so much fun dating and I’ve already expanded my social circle tremendously. Who knows, this time next year I could be one step closer to the house in the suburbs!

I grew up in a time when baseball was dominated by pitching and defense. I still love to watch a 1-0, 2-1, or 3-2 game more than a 10-7 home run hitting contest. I got to see one last night at Minute Maid Park. Ian Snell of the Pirates and Alberto Arias were the starters. Snell had command of his slider and was throwing his fastball as high as 96 miles per hour. He really handcuffed the Astros for most of the night. Alberto Arias was making his first Major League appearance for Houston and was really hot for the first few innnings. He struck out five of the first six hitters and had another K in the third. He seemed be on the verge of running out of gas in the fifth, so he was pinch hit for by another September call-up from the the minor leagues. Mark Saccamanno was the pinch hitter, his first big league at bat, for Arias in the bottom of the fifth with one out. He drove the ball over the fence into the Astros bullpen in right center field. The 'Stros added two more runs in the inning and made them stand up for a 3-2 victory for Arias.

Arias and Saccamanno had memorable nights and I got to see a terrific pitchers' duel!
