The company well-known for building those plastics bricks, LEGO, is to take on the MP3 Player market.

LEGO has has been hard at work establishing its NXT robotics line of technologies. The line has proved so successful thus far that LEGO is to expand the line by providing LEGO variations of cameras, MP3 players, and boomboxes, as you might suspect, all in LEGO.

Kevin Hall of DVICE got the opportunity to get a hands-on glimpse ft the camera and MP3 player, both pictured above.  Unfortunately, these are merely non-working, empty prototypes (as you can see by the pictured MP3 player).

Don’t expect these devices to pack a punch after all, they’re meant for kids. However, who’s to say that those big kids at heart can’t enjoy them either? Both devices hook up to your computer with a USB cable, and have a lithium battery inside. The MP3 player comes equipped with an internal storage of  2 GB of memory – not all that shabby.

Both devices will see release in the Autumn for $50 and $40 for the camera and MP3 Player respectively.

The Archos Vision 2 and Archos Clipper are considerably smaller than the rest of their counterparts. Nonetheless, the players offer a trendy and unique design which will be appeal to the masses.  Unfortunately, there was no prototype available of either of these players.

As depicted above, the Archos 3 is considerably larger yet fits nice and snug in the palm of a hand. Similarly to the Clipper and Vision 2, the Vision 3 offers a trendy and unique design but is additionally lightweight in its size-to-weight ratio.

Admittedly, the user-interface is rather simple; do not expect all the bells and whistles.

The Vision 3 uses a touch wheel to navigate the screen. Unfortunately the wheel is quite small and rather difficult to utilize especially for precision navigation.

ArchosLounge is reporting that Archos is extending its range of players with additional larger sizes (greater than 3 inches). We guess that this will depend on the success of the aforementioned players.

The infamous 5 and 7 series of Archos media players will now be revamped and make up Archos’ new line of Internet tablets.

Here’s a new story gone unnoticed. Just when you thought that Archos couldn’t possibly launch another series of media players, it appears that a series 4 is in the works. The above depiction is a slide that was briefly displayed at an Archos conference.

According to ArchosLounge, “The players presented during the conference were named Clipper, Vision 2, 3 Vision, Vision & 7 … 4 Vision!” The details are sketchy so the least, but a revamp of the current line of players could be rather exciting.

Thocan of ArchosLounge insists that the Vision 4 is a mere typo. The caption meant to read “Vision 5″. We’re crossing fingers and hoping that a 4-inch 4-series is in the works…

Since the official release of the iRiver B30, some of our loyal readers have pointed us to an indy video which has been published online.

The video shows the player going through all the motions. It offers a great preview of the player’s controls and user-interface including what looks to be like shake-control similar to that seen in the iPhone.

The AVING news agency is reporting that iRiver have officially released the new iRiver B30 media player. It was only last month that pictures of the stream-lined player were leaked on the web. We now know a bit more…

The B30 has been designed to target video-junkies who prefer their video on the move. The media player is packed with a tuner to receive DMB mobile TV – a strong selling point in the eyes of iRiver.

The biggest disappointment is the meager 2.8-inch LCD touch screen. One would have thought that the touch screen functionality would provide the player with additional space for the display?

Available in either 4, 8 or 16GB, the device packs a microSD slot for additional storage space.  File support is admiral providing support for AVI video and MP3, WMA, OGG, ASF, FLAC and APE audio.

The battery life is respectable – 40 hours of music, 5 1/2hours of DMB video, and six hours of video playtime. As we eluded to, the best part of the B30 is its innovative design.  The 2.8-inch LCD touch screen gives the B30 a thickness of less than half-an-inch and a weight of under 3oz.

The B30 is available at a suggested price of $155, $183, and $220 for the 4GB, 8GB and 16GB respectively.

Transcend, a company most notable for its memory modules, has unleashed a pink edition of the MP320 called the Transcend MP320R. The new pink MP320R has been added to compliment the existing line of MP320s.

“What’s the big difference”, I hear you ask? Weighing in at a meager 29g, the USB device differs in its bright two-tone OLED display – other than a glossy finish which makes reading lyrics and track information more difficult, not a whole lot. Transcend insists that lyrics and track information can be read on the OLED screen with ease, even in bright sunshine.
