Remember Hot Bikini girl, Katrina Darell?

Former “Idol” hopeful Katrina “Bikini Girl” Darrell will be hosting the Fourth of July celebration at Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Las Vegas for the “Red, White and Bikinis” party in honor of Independence Day.

The Examiner reveals more details:

Starting at 11 p.m., fans can catch Darrell, pictured right hosting a party at HTZ back in March, once again partying the night away–this time, in a custom-made red, white and blue Ed Hardy bikini. Ladies wearing bikini tops will drink free from midnight to 2 a.m. while partygoers of both sexes will have the chance to walk away with an assortment of Ed Hardy merchandise, which will be given away throughout the night. Mash-up master DJ Sincere will set the atmosphere for the Fourth of July celebration, dropping the beats and delivering a high-energy hip-hop and Top 40 mix. Admission is just $20 for guys; ladies are free.

Now isn’t that the place to be to celebrate Independence Day?

Everyone is creating Michael Jackson tributes here and there. A youtube user has his own tribute video to Michael Jackson. The video was shot at the Anaheim Pond in Anaheim, CA during the American Idol Season 1 Tour. It features all the Idols: Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, Nikki McKibbin, Tamyra Gray, RJ Helton, Christina Christian, Ryan Star, A.J. Gill, E.J. Day, & Jim Verraros.

The Top 13 American idol finalists composed of of Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nunez, Jasmine Murray, Megan Joy Corkrey, Anoop Desai, and Matt Giraud — all sang songs from the catalog of Michael Jackson for the performance show. In honor of Michael Jackson’s death, Fox announced it will pay tribute to Michael Jackson by airing an encore broadcast of this year’s American Idol eighth-season performance episode that featured songs from the “King of Pop.”

Fox never rebroadcast an episode. However on Monday 8PM ET/PT, you’ll get another opportunity to see this year’s Top 13 Michael Jackson special.

The Michael Jackson performances featured were Lil Rounds singing “The Way You Make Me Feel;” Scott MacIntyre singing “Keep the Faith” Danny Gokey singing “PYT;” Michael Sarver singing “You Are Not Alone;” Jasmine Murray singing “I’ll Be There;” Kris Allen singing “Remember the Time;” Allison Iraheta singing “Give In to Me;” Anoop Desai singing “Beat It;” Jorge Nunez singing “Never Gonna Say Goodbye;” Megan Joy Corkrey singing “Rockin’ Robin;” Adam Lambert singing “Black or White;” Matt Giraud singing “Human Nature;” and Alexis Grace singing “Dirty Diana.”

The best performance for me was

1.) Adam Lambert’s Black Or White
2.) Matt Giraud’s Human Nature
3.) Danny Gokey’s P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing)

I hope they add Michael Jackson videos and remove the judges’ portion.

In this entry, you will see photos of our top 12 Idol contestants goofing off in between Saturday’s tour rehearsals. These pictures are actually from Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, and Michael Sarver, who posted them on their Twitter accounts. In fact, Danny says that they did a full run-through of the show and that everyone could really sing their lungs out.

Unfortunately, Adam Lambert and Scott MacIntyre don’t make an appearance in the photos but everyone else is here. Check out the jump for two more photos, including one where Allison Iraheta is being a total cutie. She’s so adorable, I swear! The American Idol tour begins at July 5. in Portland, Oregon.

Adam Lambert may have revealed everything about his sexuality, but he’s very poker-faced when it comes to his professional debut. Well it turns out he’s working with Swedish-Morrocan producer RedOne, the man behind the pop phenomenon Lady Gaga and the person often credited for the recent comeback of glam rock. Lady Gaga is theatrical for sure but glam rock – maybe not?

In any case, E! News says that Adam Glambert spent last weekend holed up with RedOne in an LA recording studio. According to the busy producer in an interview with the LA Times, Adam Lambert will be taking a dance/pop direction with heavy rock influences.

“I want to go rock — David Bowie and Queen, but make it more easy for people to get,” the producer said of his vision for Lambert. “It has to be rock, but with an interesting dance angle to it, you know? You’ll like it.”

RedOne said he hopes to record at least six songs with Lambert, but that doesn’t guarantee that they’ll all make Lambert’s RCA debut (a Lambert representative was unable to be reached prior to posting). An “Idol” finalist comes equipped with a built-in fan base, and RedOne said he’s eager to play with people’s expectations.

“You know what I like about him? He’s fresh,” said RedOne. “You can go almost whatever direction with him. People know him from being on ‘American Idol,’ singing other people’s songs, but you can take him in a new direction, and this will be the first time you hear Adam Lambert with his signature. My goal is to get his signature out from him to the world.”

I’m so excited to hear what Adam’s post-Idol sound will be like!

The American Idol Season 8 Tour is going to kick off real soon and so far, we’ve already got a bunch of song spoilers. The first one is really obvious: since every Idol winner performs the winning Idol song, it’s probably safe to assume that Kris Allen will be singing “No Boundaries”. Here are the rest of our guesses:

So Adam Lambert did make it to the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine! I read the interview and I was pretty surprised at how candid and frank he was about his experiences and sexuality. Yes, he talks about his sexuality in this article, and for those of you who stubbornly refuse to believe that Adam Lambert is gay, there’s no better way to find out than from the horse’s mouth. Besides his sexuality, Adam said some things that will probably shock some of those who voted for him on the show, and I hope Adam wins more fans beyond his Idol core base, cos after the interview I’m not sure all of them will be sticking around. Here are a couple of quotes from the interview:

About discussing his sexuality, “Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,’…I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context.”

On attention from women, “I loved it this season when the girls went crazy for me…As far as I’m concerned, it’s all hot…Just because I’m not sticking it in there doesn’t mean that I don’t find it beautiful”

Kris Allen is his type, “They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type — except that he has a wife. I mean he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100% straight.”

On getting caught with gay porn, Adam’s father Eber caught his 13-year-old son looking at gay pornography on the family computer, and turned to his wife and said ‘It’s official.’ Later, Lambert’s mother asked if he had a girlfriend. He said no. She asked if he had a boyfriend. He said no. Then she asked if he wanted a boyfriend, to which Lambert replied “Yes, that would be nice.”

Experimenting with drugs, He tried drugs for the first time at 21, during his six-month European tour of Hair. That was when he dyed his hair black. In Germany, he started smoking pot and tried Ecstasy. But he does have limits. Among his dislikes: cocaine.

Does not do drag, “I’ve only dressed in drag three or four times. … I don’t tuck and wear breasts, that’s not me.”

On experiencing discrimination, “A few years ago, I did a musical with Val Kilmer, The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. I was finally personally awakened, wearing nail-polish, feeling attractive and comfortable in my own skin for the first time. We’d go out sometimes with Val, and it was the first time I’d ever been around a celebrity — it felt really fabulous. One night, we hung out at his house and Sean Lennon came over to jam with us. I was like, John Lennon’s son? This is the coolest thing I’ve done in my life. But I had a lot of problems with the people putting on the show. One day, the director pulled me aside and said, “Can you turn it down? The producers are a little uncomfortable. It’s a little too … gay.” I was like, “Um, are we doing a musical here? I’m sorry, there are fags all over the place, dude.” It was very upsetting.”

On making his sexuality public, “There are so many old-fashioned ways of looking at things, and if we want to be a progressive society, we have to start thinking in a different way. There’s the old industry idea that you should just make sexuality a non-issue, just say your private life’s your private life, and not talk about it. But that’s bullshit, because private lives don’t exist anymore for celebrities: they just don’t. I don’t want to be looking over my shoulder all the time, thinking I have to hide, being scared of being found out, putting on a front, having a beard, going down the red carpet with some chick who is posing as my girlfriend. That’s not cool, that’s not being a rock star. I can’t do that.”

Finally, Adam’s record deal with RCA Records and 19R is official! My record will be kind of a rock-pop-electronic-dance thing. I don’t know how to describe it. I think it’s gonna take on a life of its own, as far as genre goes.

The media really needs to stop making a big deal out of Adam Lambert and his boyfriend Drake Lambry, but I really like how both of them handle the media frenzy with such class, managing to stay tight-lipped about their personal lives and Adam’s career while remaining friendly.

TMZ was stalking the pair and managed to catch up with them as Adam was headed to bring Drake to the airport, who was going to catch a flight to Louisiana. Yep, Drake’s leaving town, which means you can all stop stalking them now! Both of them just laughed it off when the TMZ reporter repeatedly tried to get them to kiss for the camera while they walked.

The audition schedules for key cities in the United States are out! All you aspiring American Idols living in or near Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Denver, and Orlando should start working on their audition numbers as early as now since auditions will be starting by the middle of the month. Auditions are open to both men and women 16-28 years old as of June 12, 2009 who can work in the US.

The American Idol website has specific instructions for the first auditions in Boston:

Wristbands will be distributed from 7:00 AM on Friday, June 12 until 8:00 AM on Sunday, June 14. Auditioners will not be permitted to camp out. Once auditioners obtain their wristbands, they will be asked to return to Gillette Stadium by 5:00 AM on Sunday, June 14.

It is still not sure if Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi will be joining Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson for the judges’ round of auditions late in the summer. Both Paula and Kara’s contracts expired in May and they’ve yet to make any announcements about returning to the show for Season 9.
