Album Review: Miley Cyrus Bangerz

Ok, take a minute to put away your memory of Miley's VMA performance and recent wild antics. So yeah, she has been acting kinda crazy lately and I know I am not the only one that is creeped out with her tongue..

BUT.. her new album Bangerz simply bangs. It is pretty amazing and excluding a couple songs that I didn't care for, it seems to have alot of hits.

MIKE WILL MADE IT and Miley was a surprising collaboration but they really put out something great.

There's awesome party hits like "Love, Money, Party" and "Do my thang". Miley does a little bit of some singing rap (is that a thing)that really gets me moving.

Then there is her softer side with some soulfull ballads like "Adore you", "Drive" and the infamous "Wrecking Ball".

There are other hits like "FU" and "Someone else"

Some of the songs make it clear its directed to a certain ex (cough, Liam, cough) but it's perfect in an angsty screw you kind of way. I really recommend you trying the album out and focusing on her music. Miley shows with this album that crazy doesn't have to affect your music. It just adds a little entertainment on the side. ;)

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

My hair: dark brunette/black hair, straight and smooth textured, thin strands but full head, oily roots but dry ends.. I think my hair suffers from an identity crisis.

My dilemma: I need to wash my hair daily/every other day to clean my roots but my ends get dried out.

The solution: Dry shampoo!

I have been dealing with this problem since I first started caring about my hair and how it looks. I know washing your hair often can actually be counter-productive to getting the best hair. It can strip your hair of natural oils and cause increased breakage. Ironically, it also tends to increase oiliness. It eventually becomes a vicious cycle that seems to never end. I used to use dry shampoo sparingly because of the type I was using. It is Tresemme Dry Shampoo for Oily/Straight hair and it is Terrible. Too strong of a chemical smell, tacky and stiff texture after spraying, and that white powder never really goes away.

I eventually started researching to find a better one and came upon Batiste Dry Shampoo. It is a U.K. based company that is known for this product. And you know... I have to agree that they deserve all the recognition. I purchased the original scented can at Kroger for $8. It has a nice, light scent that isn't strong or chemical-y at all. When I used it, it sprayed well and evenly and I could rub it in my roots right away. My Tresemme would be wet and sticky for a couple minutes but with Batiste, it dries instantly. My hair looks amazing and clean. It gave me texture to work with for curling my hair and I was able to easily rub my fingers through it.

I absolutely love it. I can easily cover it up by parting my hair differently.

I love how it gave me a brand new outlook in life.

The boy I was hung up on for NO reason now seems inconsequential. The things I used to stress about are no worries now.

It has given me loads of confidence I knew I had somewhere deep down.

I am a bad-ass.

DIY: 1st attempt

I tried my first attempt at doing a DIY project: space shoes.

Goth Reform School had a really great, step-by-step guide on making them.

You can see it for yourself here.

I bought my acrylics, paintbrushes, and foam brush at JoAnns.

I went to Walmart to look for a cheap pair of Ked's but couldn't find any in my size.

Instead, I got these kids size canvas shoes for $3. score.

Note: I picked the cheapest set of paintbrushes ($2.99 for 3!). I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I may never use again. You save a lot of money going that route, but since the quality is crap, I found a lot of bristles falling off and getting on the shoe mixed with the paint.

I actually liked the effect, but if you want a clean finish I would suggest spending more on brushes.

I do like how they turned out except for the white paint "splatters". I feel like I didn't get the "stars" image. It looks more like an intentional paint splatter look.

I am planning on painting over and fixing/trying it again after asking Goth Reform School for some advice.

All in all, not a bad attempt. =)
